OMG...... aaaaaahmaaaaaazing cookies from The Sweet Bite. WOWWW !! So fresh, flavorful, and soft with surprises on the insides of some of them. We tried an assortment of flavors, and one in particular, really surprised us with how good it was.... and it had a surprise. It was a white chocolate chip cookie with a creamy burst of pistachio yumminess on the inside. Great flavor combo. We also tried a chocolate cookie with peanut butter chips, chocolate chip cookie, and a chocolate chip with fresh blueberries. All their cookies are HUGE, big enough for splitting between 2, and they stay fresh for days (surprisingly). It helped that we put them in ziploc bags while traveling. I wish they'd ship to far away places, but they don't. I guess we'll just have to return to Bar Harbor to get some more !! read more

My husband is a Cookie Monster, and he loves him a classic chocolate chip cookie. Naturally, while walking town when he saw this spot, we were coming inside. We were greeted by the friendly Chris, who explained the cookies, made recommendations and chatted with us about how he came to be in town and where he's from - coincidence that we're from Virginia area?! Small world. In the end, we went with the two faves my husband couldn't choose between: classic chocolate chip and red velvet. These cookies were stellar. Perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside but not too crisp, and a little squishy on the inside. The red velvet had some creamy white stuffing inside that was to die for. I wanted to come back for more and more and get some for the plane but these cookies are so big, we decided two was enough for a three day weekend. Do yourself a favor and stop in here. Do not leave Bar Harbor without visiting the Sweet Bite. We went in and were about to resist our sweet tooth, when the kind owner engaged us in conversation about his delicious cookies. We tried the standard chocolate chip - and will certainly be back. Other cookies included tiramisu, and Dubai chocolate. The cookies are big enough to share - but you will be fighting over the last crumbs! read more

Ok so you are headed to Bar Harbor and you already know that Bar Harbor is bougie and upscale and all that. You also already know that there is really nothing there that isn't expensive. I mean, sure you can find some pretty reasonable priced things there in the millions of tourist shops they have because GURL! Bar Harbor has TONS of tourist shops and they basically all have the exact same thing as the next but for some reason....you have to go into all of them because maybe...JUST MAYBE...you will find that one unique thing that none of the other stores have. Good luck with that haha! One unique thing you will see is this place called...The Sweet Bite. Again, Bar Harbor...rich people, coastal town, rich people, beautiful homes on the ocean, rich people, fancy restaurants galore...and you guessed it...rich people lol. This was my first time in Bar Harbor and honestly, I CANNOT WAIT to go back! One reason being...The Sweet Bite! So when you go on holiday for some reason so many of us are just so ok with throwing money away at the most random of things. This place is a PRIME example of that. Their cookies are $7.49...for ONE cookie! ONE! Are they a good size? Sure they are. Should they be almost $8 for one? No cookie should ever cost that much. I hate that Crumbl is now almost $5! Crumbl is garbage now. They are not even remotely as good as they used to be. The Sweet Bite tho...OH. MY. GOD!!! Ok! So you know how you see chocolate chip cookies in commercials and some happy girl or guy takes a bite and they do that thing where they pretend they are about to have some fall out of their mouth and they quickly put their hand under their chin to catch whatever might fall? Then they look at each other and like giggle and you are left to think they are saying "omg! look at me! I almost dropped this!" or "omg! This almost fell out of my mouth! heheheheh" LOL! and the cookie is always so soft and gooey and the chocolate chips are so warm that the chocolate literally drips down....well.... Thats exactly how The Sweet Bite cookies are. You bite into them and the chocolate literally oozes and drips and NO thats not a bad thing because these cookies are FKING INCREDIBLE! ...I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E!!!! I have absolutely never had any cookie this amazing. I LOVE cookies! LOVE them! I rarely eat them anymore after basically kicking all sugary treats from my life. I still have treats, but nothing like I used to. Again, $8 for a cookie ..ONE cookie is criminal, but do I regret getting this cookie? a little LOL, but like 2% of me regrets it while the other 98% of me was SO happy to get one....so much so...I went back the following day and got another LOL. And now I wanna go back and one of the first things I will do....is go to Sweet Bite. These cookies put all the others to shame. Forget Crumbl, forget Insomnia, etc. OH WAIT! Sadly, this isn't a chain. However, in a way, I am glad it isn't. Look what happened to Crumbl and the quality of their cookies. Place spread like wildfire across the country and now the quality of their cookies went waaaaaay dowwwwwwn while the prices of their cookies went WAY. UP!!! They used to be $3.49. Thats a good price, still pricey, but a decent price for Crumbl. I hope Sweet Bite doesn't get greedy (or more greedy lol). They know tourists will pay for them, but still...I think the price now, even high as it is, is where it should stay. DELICIOUS! DELICIOUS! DEEEELICIOUS!!!! UGH! SO! good! Guy working there, glasses, dark hair, commented that he liked my mustache and the next day he met my dog and was nice to him....he was the nicest guy. Anyone who is nice to my little Alfred is ok in my book. He is truly a great employee and whoever hired him...did a great thing. He is a wonderful representation for that company. He's so good, he helps you forget that you are spending almost $8 on ONE cookie haha! Wait until you just walk by and smell this place. You won't be able to help yourself. You will for sure walk in and get one or two ...or a dozen. Imagine buying a dozen at $7.49 a piece x 12...plus tax...haha, over $90 for cookies and I GUARANTEE they sell them like that daily....because yes, again, they are FN INCREDIBLE!! When you hear "gourmet cookies" this is legit...a gourmet cookie. Check them out! I SWEAR TO YOU you will not be disappointed! If for some reason you are....I will automatically just assume you are a sad miserable person who looks for things to be sad at miserable about LOL. This is the happy cookie! Even after spending that much on one cookie....you take one bite and you legit forget that it was one of the most expensive cookies you have ever bought because they are THAT delicious! The Sweet Bite has one of the best cookies I've ever tried! If you're in the area, definitely stop by for a sweet treat. Although they were pricy, it was worth it for how delicious the cookies are and how nice the staff is. Was very excited to try this cookie after my parents hyped it up! It was definitely worth the hype. I tried the chocolate peanut butter but i wanted to try so many other ones. The cookies come out so warm and gooey. They are so soft and delicious. Every bite just melts in your mouth. The cookies are huge!! And so filling! Wow talk about homemade cookies made fresh! I went late at night and a lot of the cookies were sold out or in the process of being made. I really wanted a chocolate chip cookie but the helper said it would be a wait. So went with the Dubai chocolate cookie. Having been to Dubai and had the real thing there's no real comparison but the cookie was good. Dense in chocolate and hella sweet. It was $10 for a small but mighty cookie. Even for SF resident this still seems high. Other than that if you're out for a treat not a bad choice! read more

These are perhaps the best cookies in Maine. A mix between a cookie and a brownie maybe for purists, but who cares what they think. I don't know, I am stuck -- best cookies in a tri-state? It's hard to determine, I know they were better than most all of the ones in my region. We had only one and regretted it for the rest of the trip. Don't be like us - buy them all; let me know how great it is. We went at a time where they'd only recently opened and were pleased that we lucked into the visit. The choice there was better than most everything in the rest of the bar harbor tourist circuit strip. Don't be fooled by this one being there, and it's worth the higher cost. Go get a cookie here. Do it. It will be a bit too buttery and cost you nearly $10 per cookie but I doubt you'll be upset about it. Service was fast & friendly despite the line. The little shop is cute, and right off Main St, so you can enjoy your cookie with a nice evening stroll. read more

The chocolate peanut butter cookie was unreal. This place is pretty bare bones but I think they just opened. The worker was super friendly and patient. $7 for a cookie seems pretty steep but not going to lie, I would probably pay it again. The cookie was still warm/melty. It's a tiny little spot with no where to sit down. I wish I could have bought water or milk, we went down the street and grabbed some drinks and had a night time snack in the park. read more

Very small shop with a small selection of cookies. We got the chocolate chip walnut and chocolate chip espresso cookies and both were delicious! Only reason I gave 4 stars is because $7 a cookie was a bit much and if they were warm it would have been better. There is also no place to sit inside to eat so remember it's grab and go. read more

What a delicious addition to downtown. You can feel the love in every bite of these soft, chewy cookies. Can't wait to try every flavor...good thing we're here for a week! The cookies are delicious! I went like 3-4 times in one week because they were so good. I had the chocolate chip and the ferrero rocher cookie and my mom had the chocolate peanut butter one, all of them were good. The chocolate chip one is mostly chocolate inside which I love. Also the cashier Chris is really nice and friendly too! Highly recommend. read more

These are truly the best chocolate chip cookies we've ever eaten, we went back and bought four more for the ride home!! They are crispy and chewy cookies and perfectly golden brown, genuinely the perfect cookie. We did also get some of the other flavors, chocolate pb, red velvet, and double chocolate espresso and they were all great but the classic chocolate chip really stole the show. The man behind the counter was amazing and even told us how to reheat them in the oven for the full experience when we go home. We headed inside and were greeted by a friendly woman named Brit who had a ton of pie boxes ready to go! We got our blueberry pie and ate half of it in the car after we drove away. The pie was exactly what we wanted: fresh, local, great texture, and buttery crust. It was perfection! Another tip: it's cash or Venmo only and you can call ahead. $35 per pie. It's whole pies only, they don't sell by the slice.

One of my favorite ways to enjoy them over the years was to get the maple butter and blueberry jam and mix the two. The flavors of the butter, maple and blueberry all complimented the savory flavor of the popover. However, this year I was disappointed to see that they no longer are offering the maple butter, even for an upcharge. Please bring this back, it really took the popovers to another level! Maybe whip it into thawed butter instead of hand mixing it to make it easier? The whipped butter is easier to dip in and spread anyway. The new pre-packaged / mass produced butter packs take away from the appeal of a freshly-made popover. Sometimes in the morning it can be a little crowded in here with people waiting for their coffee / drinks to be made by a counter not far from where you place your order, so if you're walking in and haven't ordered yet then check if the people standing around are just waiting on coffee or waiting to order. It would be a nice improvement to see some separation (maybe with some ropes or floor markings) to make it more clear who is in line to order and who is waiting for their beverage to be made. It's worth noting it's takeout only and there's nowhere inside to sit, but there are some benches just outside on the sidewalk where you can have your popover and coffee.

Overall it's a nice cafe for quick stop or lounging with decent drink options. Price is on the pricier side but pretty standard for local coffee shop. Plus we got to sit and watch the parade without sitting in the sun.

Like everywhere else in the area, cash only, but they all have an ATM on site where you can pay an ATM fee. This one was $2. There were some nice picnic tables outside too.
