6/14/26 So so sad. So so bad. You would think ordering 2 salads and a pretzel would be pretty straight forward. Nope. My "Riverwalk" salad, that SHOULD have had candied nuts, craisins, goat cheese... NOPE none of it. I DID get lettuce, raw mushrooms and my fish (which was my protein). They ran out of shrimp (how does THAT happen, and the young lady said, they could substitute halibut...and then another young lady said, THAT would be a $35 up charge, WHAT?). Not to mention I walked in, stood at the reception desk, 3 wait staff walked by and finally a nice young man who was new, and had never taken a take out order before tried to help me before passing me off to the other two young ladies who couldn't get my order right. I had SUCH high hopes after our last couple of experiences but this was such a miss. And if we hadn't then driven 20 minutes to our hotel, yes, I would have gone back. Service was terrible. I came in 9n Sat June 13th around 2pm my waitress Courtney was impatient. I have food in tolerances and allergy to Tomatoes. So of course I asked questions about certain dishes. At one point t she sighed at me and rolled eyes. She sighed loud enough that a person at the Table behind me commented when she left about it. When I mentioned I was asking g questions due to food allergies she started telling me they could not prepare anything without cross contamination. So I asked if i was safe to eat there and she didnt answer. I ran a rwstuarant i know for a fact if the food is t made with tomotoes and they follow national guidelines there shouldnt be any cross contamination. She kept saying they have cross contamination. So i prepped my self with bemedryl and had my epi pen near me. Then food for my table came out my hot Lobster Roll with butter was ice cold. My nieces Broiled shrimp and Blackened haddock luke warm. rice was a big glob Noone even tempted to eat it. The burger wasn't seasoned well but after adding some salt and pepper my companion enjoyed it. Fried scallops however were a big hit. They got gobbled right up. Walked in and took a few minutes for a gentlemen to greet us. Asked if they had waterfront views and it was like that annoyed the heck out of him. Seated us like we were a bother to him so after he left our table we walked over to the local brewery where we were greeted pleasantly and had water views. Food was excellent. We ordered draft beer, clam strips with fries, and the Bavarian pretzel with cheese sauce and pulled pork. Given reviews, we were skeptical, but Front Street Pub exceeded our expectations. Service was perfect. Nikki was attentive and even convinced us to order dessert (pumpkin lava cake) which we don't usually eat. So delicious. Our dinner stop brought us to the beautiful, quaint town of Belfast, Maine. We just happened to be walking by and this place looked like a nice stop. Nice outdoor seating, no wait time. Luna was our server and she was super friendly and took great care of us! Great job getting drinks out and just checking on us through our experience! About half way through, I finally remembered... take pictures!! I have to say my lobster roll and fries looked so good when it came out, taking a picture was not the first thing on my mind. The roll was toasted perfectly, packed full of lobster. The slaw was a beautiful, crisp sweetness. Fried pickles were perfectly golden, amazing flavor and none were left behind. My little man devoured the Lazy Lobster and my daughter had the pulled pork tacos. (She's not the seafood fan, clearly!) Everything tasted wonderful! I know because I was called on to help out. I'm a helper. Price was average/reasonable, definitely worth the money to us. Portion sizes were nothing to complain about. I'm glad they don't put two rolls on the plate, because I'd eat them both. Stopped into Front Street Pub while passing through Belfast and had a pretty mixed experience. The place has a casual, no-frills vibe, which is exactly what you'd expect from a local pub. The highlight of my visit was definitely the chicken basket: crispy, hot, and surprisingly tasty. The portion was generous, and it hit the spot. Also want to give a shoutout to Brian the bartender. He was helpful, attentive, and kept the drinks coming with a friendly attitude. Definitely the kind of person you want running the bar. That said, the overall experience didn't blow me away. Upon arrival, we were immediately co fused because we were no longer sure whether we were eating at Front Street Pub or Harborwalk Restaurant. Apparently they're the same restaurant. According to our server, they want to maintain different vibes on the "pub" side compared to the "restaurant" side. So even though we walked into Front Street Pub, we received a menu for Harborwalk. After all that, the food disappointingly just meh. I had the fried haddock bites and they were ok. My husband had the Jerk Chicken Tacos. Some of the items we ordered were perfect, while others were not worth ordering. The clam chowder was the best I ever had in a resteraunt. The appetisers, shrimp cocktail and Haddock nuggets were definitely worth ordering. The fried scallops and cole slaw were both delicious, but the onion rings were greasy and overcooked. The clam strips were good but the french fries were inedible. We also ordered whole belly fried clams as well, again with onion rings and again, they were greasy and overcooked. The onion rings outnumbered fried clams two to one. The onion ring were cooked in grease that should have been changed a week before. They should have been cooked in their own dedicated fryolator. The waitress was wonderful. She was personable, attentive and a joy. She had an apprentice working with her who was also a joy. Overall the service was a 5. Having a dog with us our dining choices were limited so we were prepared to settle. Turned out we didn't have to. The menu was much more extensive than your typical pub-style fare, even allowing for its oceanside location where more seafood choices are expected. I got the tuna burger: pepper-crusted with blue cheese dressing and all the standard burger fixings. Cooked to a perfect medium it was excellent and a generous size, and surprisingly priced the same as the hamburger. DW got the Front Street Burger with sauteed onions, mushrooms, pickles, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato - minus the green peppers by request. Also excellent. Both served with french fries. Fries don't normally excite me but these were among the best I've had anywhere. I don't know what made them so good, but the seasoning of flaked sea salt as opposed to table salt surely contributed. Drink selection included all the expected cocktails (margueritas, mai-tais, etc.), several custom ones, and a large beer selection with many local options. Not so much in the wines though. I got a Maine-style sangria made with prosecco, blueberry vodka, I forget what else, and whole blueberries (don't try using a straw!) Yum. DW got a variation of an Aperol Spritz. Very pretty and also yum. Local sourcing of ingredients matters to me. So I appreciated that the beef was Maine-raised and the vodka was from a Maine distillery. Automatic +1/2 star. Other positives: Many standard condiments were on the table - no need to ask. Server was pleasant and service was good in general. Dog-friendly outdoor seating and dog-friendly server. The outside setting was nice with a view of the harbor (I watched somebody climb an astoundingly tall sailboat mast for like 10 minutes). Wind was crazy though - hold onto your napkins! This was plenty of food for us. I'd have liked to try some of their other items though. Large menu selection. Interesting appetizers including roasted brussels sprouts, fried broccoli, fried fiddleheads (!). Specialty pizzas, fish&chips, tacos, tempting desserts. Some reviewers described the interior ambience as "dive bar". I didn't see it that way. Dark wood, a few neon signs, well spaced tables, a long inviting bar, with the obligatory televisions understated and not too obtrusive. A second room in back with pool tables. The bathrooms needed some work though. One with a plugged up sink. So rather than wash my hands I tried the hand sanitizer only to discover too late it was soap! No problem, the bathrooms were gender-neutral (automatic +1/4 star) so I finished in the other one which was better. read more

First off... find my review on Marshall Wharf Brewing Company then come back and read this one. Okay, did you read it? If so. You'll understand this review a little better. This place was fantastic! We were greeted with a big smile and a positive attitude; despite the fact that the kitchen was closing in 31 mins. We commented that we would place a hasty food order so as to not keep the kitchen longer than they needed to be there. The bartender quickly corrected me and said that we didn't have to rush and that their kitchen doesn't close until 9:00. The food was delicious! I'm so glad that the Marshall Wharf Brewing Company didn't want our business. We would have missed this little gem of a pub. As we were dining, a few people came in and sat at the bar. They each ordered food even though the kitchen was closing in literally two minutes! There wasn't any attitude or refusal to serve; just a warm and welcoming bartender that was aiming to please. Moral of my story... Don't walk past this charming little pub to go to someplace else to eat. If you do, you'll miss out on the great service and food that Front Street Pub has to offer. Oh! And BTW... The Harborwalk Restaurant is associated with this pub. We are pretty sure it's basically the same place. It's just the restaurant side of the business. Bravo Front Street! What a great place in Belfast. It was one of the few places open after COVID started, so it was nice to see people back to work and able to work. Social distancing was in place and we wore our masks to order. Hard to wear while eating. The staff was professional and att entente was to our needs. They were so nice and appreciative of our patronage. They have a great beer/wine and food menu. So many options to enjoy, you can find something for everyone in your group. They offer inside and outside (social distancing) seating, which both are great. Lots of windows inside to enjoy the outside if it's too windy. The food was great...loved my Hancock sandwich with fries. Man they were good and it all went well with my flight of beers. A perfect way to end the day. Thank you Front Street for a great experience. Glad to see you are coming back and look forward to another visit. There is parking near and around, so not a problem. First of all, as you know, I am not one to give out "five stars" easily. The only reason I didn't give out the fifth star for this particular restaurant, was just because of its location being a little bit off the center of town, and just a tad difficult to find for the first time. Also known by some as the "Harbor Walk," (But apparently not as readily as being known as the "Front Street Pub") it's history might be something to explore. My wife and I both had a bowl of their clam chowder, "New England" style, and she also had deep fried broccoli. In the world of culinary arts, one of the things that is often heard among those who prepare dishes, is that the food has to have time to "get to know itself." In the case of the clam chowder, we found the ingredients were well proportioned and the milk base was not too heavy. In fact the base could've used a little more time to rest in the pot, "getting to know itself." It would thicken up just a tad more, and be absolutely perfect! The prices were fair; the dining room was clean and welcoming, and the staff was terrific. Their selection of local micro-brews was interesting. I tried one that was supposedly made in Belfast originally, but has been moved to another location for a while now. read more

I have eaten at Front Street Pub multiple times over the years, and have enjoyed their haddock reuben and fried fiddleheads. Service was never great, but this most recent time was appalling. I walked in with my son who is 17, and we were not greeted by anyone. We waited for about 10 minutes by the front desk, while the host said three separate times that she'd be right with us. Eventually we seated ourselves outside with the staff somewhat aware. Multiple people waiting in line behind us walked out. Eventually a waitress come to get our order. The drinks came out right away but the chowder I had ordered for an appetizer took half an hour to come out, and it was barely lukewarm when I got it. A while later I told the waitress and she asked if I'd like it warmed up and said sure, thank you. She came out with a glove over her hand and the soup, saying she had bled everywhere because she cut up her hand. I myself have worked in restaurants for years, and injuries sometimes are inevitable, but I would never tell my customers about my bloody hand, as I handled their food, and use it as a reason why I took so long. I am sorry she hurt herself but it wasn't appropriate. The entrees came out and I ordered the fried scallops. The entree which was $27, came with 5 small scallops, and fries. that is almost $6 per scallop, which is ridiculous. The vibe and service was so beyond mediocre the entire time we were there. We had asked for a to-go cup for the chowder, but the waitress was gone for such a long time, we eventually just left because the wait time was unreal. Sadly, we won't be eating here again. It seemed severely understaffed, and the entire wait staff looked distracted, overwhelmed and depressed. I get it, restaurant life is hard, believe me I know. But management really needs to address these issues. I was told the soup was actually ready earlier but it waited on the counter, cooling, and no one picked it up. So the good news first. The hand cut french fries are delicious. Service was ok but a bit slow at times (and it wasn't busy). Wine choice is meh but there is a large selection of beer. The clam chowder was mostly potatoes served in a thin broth. The taste was good but we prefer a thicker chowder - and more clams. The lobster roll was fine but there were large pieces then some that looked shredded. The scallop dinner was just weird. Granted, it was intended to be served fried but I asked for broiled. What I got was more boiled than anything else. Completely tasteless scallops that had no char at all. Just white lumps. Not at all appetizing and even less satisfying. We'll look elsewhere next time we are in the area. read more

We wanted to order a cup of clam chowder, fish tacos, and the whole clam appetizers. He did get us 1 drink each. After waiting for 35 minutes and nobody coming back over, we threw a 20 down on the bar and left. As did the couple right next to is that we walked in with. (We didn't know them). We have been coming here for several years. This is a place that is very welcoming to tourists, locals and passers-through. Everyone is welcome here, you will be greeted with a smile. Bar is on one side with pool tables in the back area of the bar. Restaurant is on the other side. Outside patio dining is very nice, with picnic tables and pooches are allowed. Food here is very good and very local - you can get a lobster roll, fiddle heads, haddock sandwiches or you can get a burger. I love the blackened haddock sandwich. Onion rings are also very good. Good assortment of local and national beers. My only complaint is that the bar crowd can be a little raw at times (even at lunch), so best to sit on the restaurant side if that would be a bother to you. But, this place is well worth the visit. Often a line out the door for lunch. Nice welcoming staff, quick service, good food. Easy parking right in front or in the city lot next to the building. read more
