Hadn't been to Natalie's in 10 years so it was time to try again. Beautiful Saturday night in March. We were met at the entry and the host at the greeted us by name. Nice touch. White table cloth service. Servers were all excellent. Knowledgeable, friendly, efficient. This place has the best fine dining experience in the mid-coast. Food was outstanding- every course. I did find the printed à la carte and dessert menus odd as they list the dishes' main ingredients but lack any preparation detail. So we found ourselves having to ask about several dishes before being able to make a selection. Maybe it is on purpose but it made me a bit uncomfortable to keep asking about preparation of the dishes throughout the courses. The only real negative for us is the same negative we had 10 years ago. We were seated in the porch area and I suspect they fill this area first as it has wonderful views of the Camden Hills. Both times we have been seated in there, there have been loud, fairly obnoxious diners (#-bombs flying this last visit) in the room with us. Complete turn off but nothing the restaurant can do about it. We will try Natalie's again but will forgo the porch dining for another room. read more

Natalie's was an incredible experience. We had great service from beginning to end. Water was always full. Our server Ella was fantastic in walking us through the menu, giving us suggestions for our trip in Camden as newlyweds, and continually asking if we needed anything. We had a table outside with a beautiful view in the evening at sunset. And the food & wine was AMAZING. A big shout out to the Chefs and our Sommelier, Erik, who did a fantastic job. We had the Lobster Tasting Menu and Wagyu Steak and it was unreal. I would highly recommend. Dessert was some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The view is spectacular. The staff is lovely and the service excellent! The wines are spectacular. My table did rock a bit. However, it appears that Natalie's has received a Michelin award (for the Inn) and it has gone to its head! I always think of the tasting menu as a way for the chef to show off their best! The opener on the regular chef's menu was fussy and insubstantial- watermelon and caviar in which the salt outweighed the sweet as it did through other courses. The tartlet course was well balanced with the gazpacho infused martini. The pasta course was delicious. The main course included pork loin perfectly cooked, but this main dish was over-salted and imbalanced by the Spanish ham in the side salad. Dessert was balanced in texture and flavor - melon, coconut milk sorbet, almond tuile. Overall, the $278 bill was not worth it. Other diners looked delighted with their menu choices. I would order off the menu. The things that look good to you. Stay away from the tasting menu. read more

We went to Natalie's last year and had one of the best meals in our 49 year marriage. We came to Camden just to go to Natalie's this year and spent $520 disappointing dollars. We asked for bread five different times and received it with our entree. The appetizers were average, with both having a breaded crust and tasting similar. Our bad on ordering them. The trout had many bones and the Guinea hen was very salty. The waiter never asked us how our entree was and never thanked us for dining at Natalie's. read more

Natalies is a fantastic place to stop by for a meal or a cocktail if you are in Camden. I would certainly recommend this to anybody looking for an elevated experience with the understanding there are certainly some flaws. Natalies was well reviewed and well recommended by anybody I had a chance to ask. I called a month in advance while planning out our anniversary vacation and specifically shared allergies and additionally requested out door seating. When receiving the confirmation phone call from Natalies the day before, I reminded them of our preference to seat out doors. While we were assured that as long as weather permitted, we would be obliged, the hostess was taken by surprise when I reminded her in person for our request. The atmosphere was great. Elevated, decadent, low lit, and not too loud. The outdoor seating is on two sides with one facing the water (which is gorgeous and why I kept on asking), followed by a less beautiful view. The hostess sat us on the lesser of two sides. Our waitress was quite kind, timely, and knowledgeable. Directing us skillfully to cocktails and dining options. My wife got the tasting menu whereas I got the lobster tasting menu. It amounts to about four to five courses with an amuse bouche and sometimes a small surprise dish which serves as a pallet cleanse. The lobster tasting menu was incredible - serving four different lobster dishes prepared in unique ways. The other tasting menu was largely exciting except for course two, which is the chefs vegetable/pasta dish. This unfortunately was quite bland and failed to have imagination. Honestly if the rest of the mood wasn't amazing, this rating would be much less. Drinks were great as well. I will note that there is a certain charm that comes about from the food runners. Specifically it seems like there is a family touch here. The runners take the time to present and it comes off as sophisticated with the French accents. Certainly a great spot to have a special night but it seems as if some details are dropped. Additionally would note that this restaurant is quite pricey even if you choose not to do the tasting menu. read more

We had a wonderful dinner here last night. We are on a New England road trip and appreciate elevated places for dinner while traveling. Natalie's did not disappoint. From the beginning warm towel presentation to the end with a complimentary little churro type sweet treat-everything was perfect. Hubby had a nice cocktail, I had a glass of cold Prosecco. We shared the mushroom soup-so good. We had the NY strip steak and halibut, both yummy and cooked just right. Also the right portion as to not be overstuffed. Natalie's is an experience. Overall, it had its pluses and minuses. You feel like you are in a Yacht Club on some island. Diners go all out in attire and you have a sense that the regulars receive special attention. If you want upscale in Camden, you have found your place. The views from the outside deck are lovely as is the setting. The restaurant features lobster which is removed from its shell. I had the grilled lobster in a corn base. The lobster was good, albeit slightly tough and dry. The corn base tasted very fresh. My chardonnay was delicious and complemented the meal. While the salted butter was nice, the bread was only ok. Service was attentive, though they made me wait beyond my reservation time to be seated. Dining here is an investment, but if you are worried about that aspect, you probably should not be here in the first place. read more

The food, staff and atmosphere here is amazing (drinks too) I tried a Victoria's Secret per the bartenders suggestion and wow...it was so good. Some places you get a drink and there is so much alcohol in it you feel like you're taking a shot when you sip it. I've been to a few places in Camden and this is one of the best around. Everything is delicious and they take even simple things, like fries, and take it to another level. I can't pick one thing I had as my favorite because they all were good. Natalie's does a great job of offering fine-dining in a picturesque setting. I've dined there a few times with my girlfriend - go for the food and wine; stay for the people-watching. The COVID protocol was impressive, during the height of the pandemic, as well. We've done the Lobster Tasting menu, as well as a la carte, and were very impressed by both offerings (the lobster bisque is laden with saffron, which was an interesting take). Service is attentive and the Somme is knowledgeable and fun. Obviously it's a bit pricier than some of the other options, but coming from NYC, it's cheaper than most options. My wife and I were on vacation in Maine, and my wife has read a ton of reviews recommending this place. We went on Saturday night and the only choices were a 4 course meal (where you could make a few different selections at each course) or a fully chosen 5 course lobster sampler meal. I will say overall the food was very good and in the beginning the service was very attentive. We sat outside and it was very nice when we arrived but did get colder as the night went on while the service became less and less attentive. I had to go ask for blankets at one point because it had been so long since the server had been back around. After we had been there for about 2.5 hours our entree finally arrived, and we were cold and ready to go. I understand some may be looking for a 3-4 hour dinner when you're paying about $150/person, but this was a much slower paced dining experience than we were experiencing. Overall it was very Celiac and gluten-free safe and the food was well prepared and quite good. Our main complaints were the lack of attention at the end of the night when the inside got busy (last two courses probably took an hour and a half, finally asked for our dessert to go). For the price, we will likely go elsewhere next time. read more

So many servers, so much silverware... just so overdone. But since it costs $700 to start to stay at the Inn the restaurant calls home, that whole scene is beyond what we enjoy. And beware... unless you cancel 48 hrs ahead you will be charged $50/head since they require a CC to make a reservation. Sat outside on the lovely patio in casual clothes on a beautiful night enjoying a lovely view and very attentive service. All the dishes are works of art. But taste never suffers in order to make it look pretty. The sommelier was friendly and casual as well. His recommendations for pairings were excellent and priced just right. The seafood tower was amazing, the lobster dishes served out of the shell poached to perfection and even the vegetarians in our group really enjoyed the pasta. Natalie's is a luxurious oasis in coastal Maine. Warm hospitality, everyone dressed to the nines, tasting menus, beautiful views. The food is interesting. Portion size is on the smaller side. I had the cod, it was a high quality piece of fish - cooked rare. The bartender explained North Atlantic fish can be cooked rarer than warmer water fish due to less parasites. The food on the other hand was very salty especially the New York strip steak and short ribs. The oysters were good, but not as fresh as you would expect, considering Damariscotta is only 30 minutes away. The Black Cod was good and well cooked, but the cream sauce had very little flavor and plenty of salt. Frankly, I am amazed that this restaurant can command the price they charge for the quality of food they provide. Such an unpleasant evening last night. Started off with our host confirming her table choice at the time she confirmed the reservation. We had a lovely drink at the bar, wonderful bartender. Then the fun started. The table of choice was not available and we were told they never promise a specific table. We were seated in an area off the beaten path with an assurance we would be happy. Our lunch service at a inexpensive restaurant in town was more informative and gracious. While we waited for our table we ordered cocktails at the bar and the bartender was great so while it was a good start but that's where it ended. Our server came to table said a few thing about the multi course menu, left and then returned to ask is we were ready to order . She didn't ask if we had questions on the menu , if we wanted to order a bottle of wine, nothing and she was training someone else? As we received food there was no check in on if we liked it or needed anything just are you done . The selections of wine by the bottle also are lacking especially with American wines and the prices are very high. The Pinot selection has no California choices just Oregon and just a few which were overpriced. We ended up ordering by the glass. The seafood tower was ok but not in the top ones we've The shrimp were overdone and a little chewy. The pork was good but not outstanding. So the less than stellar service combined with the food quality was less than ideal.
