    Achiote Chicken - highly recommend!

The Achiote Chicken is literally the best chicken ever! Chef's kiss. Literally the best chicken we have ever eaten. The combination of flavors is just stunning. The Maine Halibut was also superb. The quaint house this restaurant is in just adds to the awesome atmosphere. The service was also great. One thing to note: you cannot enter through the front doors. You have to walk around to the left of the house (follow the signs) to the back and enter into the door in the back. We will definitely be back!

Our first time here, and we loved it! It was a crisp fall day here in Camden, and we wanted to try something new and different. The vibe was nice, small but interesting menu, really nice service and our dinner was excellent!

We were so happy to stumble upon this small, unpretentious place just off the main downtown street in Camden. The website and Google info are kinda messed up -- it shows up as Costa Media though it's apparently (also?) called Cafe Louis -- so it's confusing. But the food is delicious and really innovative -- eggplant Milanese: lightly fried and wrapped in delicate strips of cucumber; delectable "pinchos" of the most tender and flavorful carne asada I've had; seasonal salads of tomatoes and baby gem lettuce with tastiness like "toasted macadamia nut vinaigrette" and "caramelizad fennel salsa" and cacao nibs ... wow. We even asked for bread, so we wouldn't miss a drop of the different sauces and toppings. Seriously good. Same goes for the cocktail menu (margarita with Underberg?!!) and simple wine list. Just super creative and delicious. Unfortunately we didn't like the flan, one of two desserts offered. It was really dense, like cheesecake (which seemed by design) with a weird crumble. Maybe personal preference, but it was the only low point of the evening. Still, our overall impression was that this is a restaurant that understands flavor and is not afraid to mix things up. Highly recommend.

    Halibut special

Fantastic food! Highly recommend. Small and cozy, not too loud. Reasonably priced. I hate the fish gallitos and my partner had the halibut special. No complaints, food was perfect!

Ordered the fried haddock sandwich too. Soup arrived with steam (before the spoons to eat it came) but the soup was actually not that hot when we tasted it. We had to wait for spoons. The bowl of lobster bisque was $34, which was a conscious decision for us to order - because that's expensive. (A cup is$20.) The lobster bisque had no flavor. The salt, pepper and lemon we added ourselves helped but for $34, it should be amazing. It cooled off super quickly and was room temperature within 3 minutes and in 8 minutes or so, cold. Which means it wasn't truly heated through and through to start. We regret ordering it. The fried haddock sandwich had zero flavor. None. Not salt, not pepper. The fries and Heinz ketchup had the most flavor of anything on our table. When the sandwich came we asked for another plate (we were sharing it), which never came. At one point, the waitress came over and asked how everything was. I replied, "Eh, alright." She said "Okay!" and walked away. Disappointing since, budget-wise, we are eating out one meal a day of this trip and that was the experience (and lack of flavor) we had. $66 including tip. Such a waste. Sorry to say....but skip this place.

We learned of it from locals and decided to give it a try. It was a bit rocky of a start, someone didn't really know that we were there, but when we asked we had service recovery that was off the charts. We had a very nice Chardonnay. and because of our initial wait we received the cajun shrimp appetizer that was absolutely incredible and served with homemade chipotle cocktail sauce - so good and perfect with the wine. I then followed that with an order of chicken wings that came with buffalo sauce and blue cheese, Wayne had the fettuccine Alfredo that was also excellent. Although no longer within the blues festival grounds, we will totally add it to next year's plan!

Perfect to watch the boats and free water taxi coming and going. Our waitress was very busy. We didn't see much of her, but she did a nice job for having so many tables. We tried the clam chowder. Way think and rich. I'd love to see more clams, but only because I like mine full. There was plenty in the bowl though. Needed a little more salt & pepper, but I like that it doesn't come out over seasoned so we can fit our taste buds. Husband had the 1.5lb lobster . He said it was really good. He said he needed at 3lb to be full. French fries were crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft in the center. The way I love them. I ordered the "fried" haddock Ruben. I ordered mine broiled instead. Perfectly toasted marble rye bread. The fish was pretty buttery and not a large piece of fish. Maybe a little too much for my personal liking. But the haddock had good flavor and texture. Slaw was ok. Felt like it needed a distinct flavor to make it pop! 3 bean salad was really good though. Lobster was $35. I felt like that wasn't a bad price. Overall, I'd stop in for lunch again.

The halibut, I must declare, was nothing short of a revelation, a luminous masterpiece of the sea, cooked with such preternatural precision that it seemed to hover between succulence and sublimity, each flake surrendering its briny sweetness with the tenderness of a whispered secret. Our attendants moved with the balletic grace of practiced synchrony..swift, perceptive, almost prescient in their attentiveness, anticipating our every unspoken desire before it could even crystallize into thought. Truly, a dining experience that transcended the merely excellent and ascended into the rarified air of the unforgettable.

And then, if you're one of the MILLIONS of people who can't eat mayonnaise based sauces, then you're out of luck, especially if you want one of the specials, because they will not leave the aioli off the special. Even though it's a sauce at the bottom of the plate. No, sorry. I mean, Le Bernardin doesn't do that unnecessarily pretentious stuff. Only average. Except the stuffy attitude. Will pass next time.
