Inadvertently parked in a space that I apparently should not have been in. Was not marked. Obnoxious employee surrounded my car with no parking sign horses that were most definitely not out there previously. Also used obscenities as I left. Unnecessary and rather pathetic. We are literally driving around the building trying to get into the door. We called and someone said "yeah we're open.. front door" and all of the doors are locked. So I guess we'll never know Maybe put a sign out saying which door is unlocked and actually unlock them. read more

I ordered over the phone for two appetizers. Wings and pretzels. The pretzel was extremely small for $10 not horrible in taste but no where good as a simple auntie Anne's. The main reason to order was the chicken wings. They were soggy and unfortunately unflavored. The blue cheese was as mild as mayonnaise. For two apps it was $30 with a $15 value. The lady on the phone was polite but was also bartending and upon arrival was extremely rude and condescending. This establishment might be fine for an elderly luncheon but its food is sub par and the staff is horrendous. Park street grille or waterworks (near by) are far better with better prices staff and food. I'll never return. read more

The food was pretty good. The wait was a little time but the food was good. The drinks are not nearly as strong as most other restaurants we have tried in the area. The whole places turned and stared at us the first half of our meal. I'm not sure if this a locals only place, but the vibe was definitely local. Overall, this a really amazing place. This was our first stop at Trackside and we were pleasantly surprised. We were instantly greeted with smiling faces and promptly seated. Our waitress was fast, attentive, pleasant and friendly. The food came out nice and quick and was overall very good. My wife loved the bacon and beer cheese burger that she god which was smothered in perfectly sauteed onions. I got the Thai chicken rice bowl which was accompanied by a delicious Thai peanut sauce. My only critique is that the portion of chicken was pretty small in my opinion. I would guess half a breast, but accompanied with the veggies and rice pilaf it was a good overall portion size. All around the meal was fantastic. My side of sweet potato fries was massive and they were perfectly fried, nice and crunchy, but not overdone. The bar area looked fun and the restaurant was completely kid friendly. A great spot for a weekday lunch date that we will absolutely try again! read more

I've been coming here for years, it's a total locals hangout, kind of a hometown dive bar vibe, with unique building, great food, and the owner Mike is a serious great guy who cares about his customers. I always feel like coming here is like eating with family. Got great people, great food and unique atmosphere stop in and try the great menus, all the meats and seafood are locally sourced, hand cut fries and average prices. read more

We arrived to find our hotel room wasn't ready and we were thirsty. The desk clerk said this was her "go to" place and we weren't disappointed. It is in an old train depot with nice and patriotic decor. Not huge but comfortable, plus available outside seating. Friendly staff and cold beer. Multiple TV's and reportedly scheduled live music. Menu looked decent with average prices for the area. read more

Hometown sports bar with excellent, attentive servers (Kelly was awesome) fresh draft beer and a nice menu for this type of restaurant. The piece of haddock on the sandwich was a healthy portion as was the piece of broiled haddock. When the restaurants in the downtown area are closed just walk a few blocks and enjoy its friendly atmosphere. read more

A nice stop for lunch on our way up Route 1. Just outside downtown Rockland. Had plenty of options to choose from for sandwiches and for little one. - Pepperoni pizza was more of a flatbread but was hearty and tasty. - Garden salad was nice and fresh - Reuben was lean and meaty. Could have used a little more thousand island or mustard. Coleslaw was great. Not too sweet. Was happy to see Freedom Cider on tap despite the clear favor to macro and Sam Adams. read more

We chose Trackside Station for our anniversary dinner because of the great reviews and the interior photos. We were not disappointed. I ordered the haddock sandwich and it was HUGE and DELICIOUS. I opted for a salad instead of fries and it was very fresh. Hubs ordered the wings and then the brisket platter. He was content with the large portion of brisket. He opted for the onion rings instead of fries and enjoyed his meal very much. On the COVID front, I appreciated the separation of the tables inside, but would've liked to see more cleaning of the tables between patrons. Overall- great anniversary dinner! read more

A great stop for our family of 4 (boys 5&7). Grabbed an early dinner after a day at the beach. Great kids menu (lots of variety), and huge portions for all! Very disappointed , from the picture i saw it didnt match tge location. I brought my elderly parents here for dinner. It was very noisy. They cant hear to begin with, the noise level didnt help. The waitress was very helpful but she could have checked with us a little more. The food was excellent. They had fish and chips. They said the fish was excellent. The cole slaw was just ok.. way ...way too many fries. Atip...cut back on fries and add one more piece of fish. I had the greek flat bread which was excellent. Prices was about right according to them. Im not living in maine so i dont know the current haddock prices. Floridas fish and chips are a heaping of fish for $13. To meet friends for a bite and drink...excellent place. A place for a quiet dinner with your elderly parents not so much. Would i come back maybe. read more

Pretty friendly service as well as a quick wait (perhaps because they weren't super busy) I got the bonfire chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries which were not great, but were saved by the burger which was very tasty and my boyfriends fries were also very solid and hard, but his burger was cooked perfectly. All in all would recommend if they would get a better French fry cook or maybe a new French fry recipe/brand. read more

My wife and I decided to stop in (5.23.13) becuase we were excited by the concept. I love it when old structures are recycled into restaurants and bars. Our intention was to have a drink or two at the bar and split an appetizer. When I sat down at the bar, the customer sitting next to me made a big stink about me sitting next to her, even though the seat I took was unoccupied. I was polite and asked her if the seat was taken or if she was saving it and she ignored me. We waited at the bar for a while and when the bartender arrived we asked for the draft list. With the establishment being located in Rockland and in an area that has a high tourist foot traffic, the establishment should be familiar with customers who are unable to identify all of the beers on draft by their tap handles. When I asked to see the draft list, the bartender rudely told us that the establishment doesn't have one and that I should know what beer I wanted based on the tap handles (which were on the other side of the bar). Instead of offering to tell us what beers were available, she made us feel stupid for having asked. The combined rude behavior from both the bartender and the customer made us walk out without ordering anything. read more

I don't know if I can even give this One Star! I dropped in here the other day. My first time. One good thing, I Was recognized quickly. But it went downhill, FAST! The girl behind the bar said I could sit anywhere. Funny actually, since the only people there at the time were at the bar. And they, along with the Bartender, started in with a tirade of Snide, Sarcastic, Snarking comments directed at me. That was as far as I got! If that is what they consider Friendly, Welcoming Service, I don't want Any of it!! Count me Out! There TOO MANY good places in Rockland, and the Mid Coast to ever have to go here! The idea of this place, a restaurant in an old train depot, with photos inside of the depot back in the day (FDR came thru here in 1941), is very appealing for any train enthusiast. It's still semi-active as a depot today, with the Maine coastal railroad stopping here at the northern end of its sightseeing route from Brunswick. The food is definitely ok. It's standard American fare -- burgers, dogs, sandwiches, soup, salad, pasta, with some steak and seafood, too. The portions are enormous. I just sort of left here slightly disappointed. One, because I had really been in the mood for clam chowder, but they don't serve it. Two, I got onion rings with my burger, and they were more like fried clams in texture and flavor than onions. And three, my "blackened bleu" burger was just a little bit weird. (Partially my fault for ordering it.) The cajun spice sauce was a messy gloopy orangish substance that looked and tasted vaguely like Thousand Island dressing with some cayenne pepper. It was definitely ok, but nothing to write home about. My wife and mother-in-law loved the tomato brandy bisque, but it didn't really do anything for me. My wife really enjoyed her BLT, and my mother-in-law dug her salad. At night, they've got a full bar, they serve Jell-O shots, and occassionally host beer pong tournaments. (All games played with water, they say. What's the point of that?) They also have drink specials during NASCAR races. With the amount of good cheap food available in Rockland (esp. Wasses), I don't know if we'll be back. read more

We eat here almost every week. The food is good and the service is friendly and quick. I love it when poutine is on the specials menu! My husband usually orders the wings or the fish and chips and I love their burgers. This is one of the very few restaurants I have visited where the chef actually cooks the burger as requested. Had lunch here on August 13....was expecting standard burgers and was very pleasantly surprised. Chowder of the day is on the menu and was excellent. Seared scallop cobb salad was delicious - with sauteed cauliflower and greens as a side. Must be new chef and new menu from previous reviews (180 degrees off) because this place is a gem of a find in a cool old station and a few blocks from the downtown fray. We were here for lunch right after it opened several years ago and found it cold, empty and mediocre. Coming back this fall, it's been redecorated with wood floors, larger bar, and more intimate dining area. The place was still fairly empty for a Saturday night, but the food was tasty. I had the chicken Caesar Wrap which was great with home made onion rings. My wife had the tomato bisque soup which was hot and flavorful, and the Mac & Cheese which was so-so. Good selection of draft beers and supposedly entertainment (DJ and black light dance) later in the evening. Not sure what the turn out for that will be. As a local Rocklander I have quite a few places my friends and I frequent and Trackside is one of them. We know Mike Woods and his staff of friendly waitresses and barkeeps. They know our names and what drinks are our favorites. But despite all the friendliness its the food that causes to return more often than other places. Specials are definitely special and seasoned just right. Their wings come in 6 flavors from sweet to hot and are just right for an afternoon snack with a Maine beer. But my favorite is the Sidetracked Cheeseburger made with local beef and choice of cheese. Thank you Mike! read more
