Came back for the burgers, fries, and mozzarella sticks. The burgers are simple, freshly formed patties cooked to order with salt and pepper, fluffy delicious roll, crunchy tangy pickles. Served with a bag of chips. Order the seasoned fries on the side. They were hot, crispy and well seasoned. The mozzarella sticks are the right kind of crispy, melty and stretchy. Dialed in and good to go.

The shrimp plate, lol look at all that breading!

Reunion Station, what a blast. The last time I was in this quaint place I was about 40 years ago as a kid and it was a pizza place. In fact that was one of my first food memories, the best pizza with fresh made mozzarella. But we aren't here to here about what it used to be. We visited this place after meeting a friend. I had the seafood platter and she opted for the shrimp plate. My only complaints would be the shrimp were barely larger than popcorn shrimp, and really what you're paying for is a whole lot of fried breading. So you order a drink, yep it comes in about a 8 ounce plastic cup and never got any refills. Dinner rolls, yep two straight out of the package and colder than the pats of butter. Service was sub par. If stopping in here I would ask questions before placing the order or might be disappointed. Mine was fine, she was not satisfied with hers at all, barely ate any of it and didn't want to wait to order something else. This place is a solid 3.5 stars, wish that were an option.

Fantastic restaurant!!! Great food, reasonable prices and friendly, efficient service. One of the best restaurants in Midcoast Maine! Never visit Maine without stopping here. And location is easy to get to right off of Route 1.

Good food, service, decent portions. Cute dinning in train car. Off the road, sort of a hidden gem.

We started with the biib salad which had a blue cheese, garlic dressing. Delicious We also had roasted tomatoes with a biscuit and carmilised onions. Both dishes will leave you speechless they were so good. The tomatoes and biscuit were served in a small cast iron pan and to us it reminded us of Thanksgiving. So good. For our mains. I had the goat shwarma with a side of veggies. The meat was flavorful and tender. Do not be fearful that its goat. It was not gamey at all. The side veggies of quash and beets were excellent. My wife had the muscles which came in a garlic and herb broth which was exceptional. The finaley was a lime, whip cream, and a short bread crumble. It was basically a deconstructed key lime pie.. You have to try this place and tell your friends. Worth a drive.

The meat is no longer locally sourced and the prices have gotten so high! We always felt like this was a place for the community and visitors alike. Now it just seems like it's pandering to tourists. While our service was wonderful the energy in the place has changed. It's becoming another basic restaurant with flashy dishes that are just ok. They have an amazing wood fired grill but the food had barely any hint of what that provides to the flavor. Plus our oysters were dry, like they'd been shucked hours before. Unacceptable being a stones throw from the source. I don't know if it's new ownership not knowing how special it was but it's no longer the River House we came to love.

Crock of onion soup is made with Beal broth and was super delicious. My wife had the Waldorf salad and she loved it - she said the dressing needed something, probably salt. After visiting the gardens, we weren't sure we wanted to drive 30 minutes the other way for dinner, but we did and we were very happy about it! Everything was outstanding from the drinks and appetizers to dinner and dessert. They say their clam chowder is award-winning. Two in our party had the clam chowder and agreed that it was the best chowder they've ever had. These two order chowder wherever they go. They also had the calamari which they said was excellent as well. The scallops appetizer was GF and was unbelievable. I have a gluten allergy so I had the haddock without breadcrumbs. It was very, very good. I did not get sick, so they get five stars for that. The service was excellent. The vibe was relaxed and friendly. We enjoyed our visit immensely.
