Fortunately, this location in particular is tucked away in a strip mall, away from the tourist area, so you have to know where it is to find it. Staff are friendly, and I've enjoyed the coffee beverages I've had. The Aussie pies are tasty, with a flaky crust of puff pastry filled with savory goodness. They do tend to run out, so get there earlier than later. read more

I was in there yesterday morning and the young man on duty took my daughters order first which had 3 or 4 different items added to her coffee drink which was 75 cents more than my plain coffee. So he hands my plain coffee to my daughter first my daughter assumed then it was hers and proceeded to add creams and sugars ect.... in the mean time I noticed he started working on my plain coffee I assumed and when I noticed he adding all these ingredients into my plain coffee I informed him he screwed up our orders he just schruged his shoulders and made me just a plain coffee that I originally ordered but never offered to make my daughters right or offer a refund of the price difference and just stood behind the counter like a deer in the headlights. read more

I use to really like this place, but the last few times I went in, rude staff, short, snotty remarks from multiple female staff, and I ordered a medium, she hands me a small, no smile or a word, of course, I asked is this a large...a nod, btw it was not, such bad attitudes, and couldn't describe or upsell their own products. Prices are a hair more than Starbucks but the experience is well worth it. Definitely stop by if you are in the area. The fact that it is in a strip mall is deceiving but it has many drink options including alcoholic and some baked goods too. I would love it if they had something like this in Daytona Beach. I've had kookaburra coffee many times and it has always been great, but today I stopped in at their Roastery location to purchase the somethin pumpkin while they still make it. The barista must have scalded the milk or she just burned the coffee. My throat and mouth is still burning. I've never had that happen with kookaburra. I have recently relocated to St. Augustine a few months ago from Maryland. I have been in dire need of finding a local coffee shop. The Kookaburra has provided far more than that. The clean, warm, inviting environment, coupled with the enticing aromas of brewing coffee makes you immediately feel at ease. But most importantly, as with any establishment--the staff are what makes this St. Augustine staple complete. Amy, behind the coffee bar, is a warm, friendly, outgoing, delightful human being who immediately makes you feel at home as soon as she takes your order until you get your coffee. The supervisor, Emily, is a cheerful breath of fresh air--and helped me navigate the process of ordering an online gift card (and then wanting to pick it up in store). While this is not typical protocol--she showed the Kookaburra's dedication to customer service, spoke with upper management, got back to me with an answer in under 30 min, and had me able to pick up my gift card within an hour. Her strong management is most likely what facilitates the happiness that exudes from her staff. Last but not least, Ashley is always steadfastly moving behind the coffee bar--solving coffee bars (and in fact fixed a drink of mine one day, with no complaint, just because it didn't "taste right" to me). Overall, the excellent customer service, their dedication to serving the community, and warm environment will keep me continually coming even if those $5 hot aussies break my bank account (which by the way, they are totally worth the price). I love this place, but I'm giving it two starts because they never have the crust less Aussie pies when I come in. I just went in at 8:30 and they were out. I requested that maybe they could make more and they said no because they don't want to have extras that no one gets at the end of the day. I can't be the only one disappointed about this. I found The Kookaburra on Yelp when I was looking for a place to kill an hour. I thought this place looked cool and cute so I gave it a try. It did not disappoint! So we have been customers for a long time we frequently visit Saint Augustine as we live in Jacksonville. We love bold bean coffee and that's what they had been using for a long time. Now as far as the taste of the coffee we've pretty much been happy with everything we've gotten from these guys but my review isn't just because of the coffee it's how I was treated today. I was out visiting in Saint Augustine with my mother we went to the farmers market earlier I had my kombucha she had iced matcha and I also had a tea. Nearly every time I come to Saint Augustine we thought that hookah Barra my family and I. We usually get something from the bakery case and multiple coffees. On one of my most recent visits I even bought my husband the kookaburra tank top. so why am I riding a three star review for a place that we have had no trouble with the quality of product. So like I said me and my mother came here today after visiting the amp a theater market and a couple other shops. We really wanted this coffee but we decided that we would just get a large and split it because we had consumed multiple caffeinated beverages earlier. I ordered a slice of the vegan banana bread and I ordered a large honey badger and asked for an extra cup. Now it wasn't until after my coffee was made I was told that I could not be given an extra cup because they wanted to cut down on waste. WTF ??? I just spent over $10 gave a small tip and was denied an extra cup so I couldn't share my drink with my mother without us drinking out of the same cup ! there was no lid and no straw I think that we pretty much cut down on waste. read more

I went for a cafe con leche and was a little disappointed The reason i say this is because it was not the flavor a was looking for. With that said the cup of coffee i got was excellent. I went back three or four more times and tried different coffees all very very good. My new coffee place. Also tried a pie and it was very good. My wife does not drink coffee but she tried one of the hot teas and loved it so now we have a place we can go and enjoy a hot beverage in the morning. read more

She even went out of the way to bring us not only our drinks but also cream and sugar to the table. Very average. 12oz drinks only have two shots of espresso. If a flavoring is ordered, they go very heavy on the syrups. For example, a hazelnut latte is very sweet from the syrup and light on the espresso. If that's your thing, go for it, but this is not a coffee drinkers coffee shop. read more
