Ordered a regular coffee and a double shot of espresso. The regular coffee was good the espresso was terrible tasted burnt. Service was ok nothing special and the place was clean just disappointing with the lack of baked goods. read more

Great spot! Needed a quick but hearty breakfast while traveling with our unruly 1 year old and we got it! The Aussie cakes are delicious. Try their sweet and spicy sauce. Plus, the were caring and compassionate. When they saw us struggling to eat while chasing our boy, they entertained him. We are forever grateful! read more

I've been to 2 of the locations, and have enjoyed both. Fortunately, this location in particular is tucked away in a strip mall, away from the tourist area, so you have to know where it is to find it. Staff are friendly, and I've enjoyed the coffee beverages I've had. The Aussie pies are tasty, with a flaky crust of puff pastry filled with savory goodness. They do tend to run out, so get there earlier than later. read more

I was in there yesterday morning and the young man on duty took my daughters order first which had 3 or 4 different items added to her coffee drink which was 75 cents more than my plain coffee. So he hands my plain coffee to my daughter first my daughter assumed then it was hers and proceeded to add creams and sugars ect.... in the mean time I noticed he started working on my plain coffee I assumed and when I noticed he adding all these ingredients into my plain coffee I informed him he screwed up our orders he just schruged his shoulders and made me just a plain coffee that I originally ordered but never offered to make my daughters right or offer a refund of the price difference and just stood behind the counter like a deer in the headlights. read more

Stopped here based on some convincing reviews. Was not disappointed! Really liked the Australian theme. Visited on Memorial Day, and only a few customers were in the shop, so I didn't have a wait. The Aussie Iced (Ice Brew Coffee with Housemade Vanilla and Cream) hit the spot and gave me the caffeine boost I needed. read more

Excellent store layout with beautiful retro furniture. Very friendly staff & outstanding presentation. Ordered an espresso so they served it on a tray with carbonated water. Awesome experience read more

The Kookaburra - Cafes Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

I use to really like this place, but the last few times I went in, rude staff, short, snotty remarks from multiple female staff, and I ordered a medium, she hands me a small, no smile or a word, of course, I asked is this a large...a nod, btw it was not, such bad attitudes, and couldn't describe or upsell their own products. Seemed to me they dont like working there. I'm sorry I recently purchased gift cards from this location, I hope these same girls aren't working when my giftees arrive. read more

Great coffee. This place has a very open minded barista. She will make a cappuccino for a "cis male"; steaming milk with her own resentment.

Soooooo good! Were on our way to Orlando and took a detour in St. Augustine. Husband wanted coffee so we stopped here. Great drip coffee and the honey badger latte was amazing! read more

Recently took a trop to St. Augustine from Tampa and stopped at the Kookaburra for coffee and some breakfast. The coffee was great and the Brekkie pies were tasty. The Greenie was great. Highly recommend it if you are in the area. read more

A favorite place to go and have coffee in the morning and maybe a pastry while I'm at my daughters in Saint Augustine area! Friendly staff and very efficient.... just like the one at home! read more

Friendly staff. Excellent quality. Ordered a Honey Badger and was very pleased with the flavor, quality, ambiance and service. Prices are a hair more than Starbucks but the experience is well worth it. Definitely stop by if you are in the area. The fact that it is in a strip mall is deceiving but it has many drink options including alcoholic and some baked goods too. I would love it if they had something like this in Daytona Beach. This spot is definitely hipster but they have a lot of respect for coffee and know the proper technique. read more

I really hesitate in writing this review. I've had kookaburra coffee many times and it has always been great, but today I stopped in at their Roastery location to purchase the somethin pumpkin while they still make it. The barista must have scalded the milk or she just burned the coffee. My throat and mouth is still burning. I've never had that happen with kookaburra. Just was very disappointing and waste of money. read more

Absolutely the best coffee in Jax/SA area. I don't know whether it is barista or coffee machine but their espresso is incredible. And served right. And you don't have to wait 15 minutes for the cup of cold macchiato like in Bold Bean. read more

First trip into a kookaburra, (which led to a Google search to find out what a kookaburra was), and we truly enjoyed the experience! Michelle and Cheyenne were so helpful and gave great suggestions and recommendations to us newbies. Totally stole piece of my son's lamington... So yum! The green goddess (not green) was exceptional... For a tea lover like me of course. Cool atmosphere for my sister and I with my two little ones in tow. Will definitely visit again! read more

I'm writing this review while I'm sitting at the Kookaburra and enjoying my hot Aussie and my donut holes. The jokes are just holes, but nice as a second breakfast. I wanted to try one of their signature coffee and the honey badger seemed to be too sweet for me. Usually I drink my coffee black, but I wanted to try. The hot Aussie is good and not too sweet. But everything on the menu sounds good..... read more

I have recently relocated to St. Augustine a few months ago from Maryland. I have been in dire need of finding a local coffee shop. The Kookaburra has provided far more than that. The clean, warm, inviting environment, coupled with the enticing aromas of brewing coffee makes you immediately feel at ease. But most importantly, as with any establishment--the staff are what makes this St. Augustine staple complete. Amy, behind the coffee bar, is a warm, friendly, outgoing, delightful human being who immediately makes you feel at home as soon as she takes your order until you get your coffee. The supervisor, Emily, is a cheerful breath of fresh air--and helped me navigate the process of ordering an online gift card (and then wanting to pick it up in store). While this is not typical protocol--she showed the Kookaburra's dedication to customer service, spoke with upper management, got back to me with an answer in under 30 min, and had me able to pick up my gift card within an hour. Her strong management is most likely what facilitates the happiness that exudes from her staff. Last but not least, Ashley is always steadfastly moving behind the coffee bar--solving coffee bars (and in fact fixed a drink of mine one day, with no complaint, just because it didn't "taste right" to me). Overall, the excellent customer service, their dedication to serving the community, and warm environment will keep me continually coming even if those $5 hot aussies break my bank account (which by the way, they are totally worth the price). Oh and if I didn't mention--their coffee is kick ass. read more

I wish i was as nice and talented and cool like the staff at this location haha! I moved to St. Augustine from california about a year ago and once i discovered this place there was no going back to starbucks, that doo doo just doesn't compare on any level. Shun the mermaid!!!!!!!!! read more

Stopped by for a drink on a hot Sunday in Saint Augustine. I ordered the Aussie iced coffee and it was delicious- strong and flavorful. It's a regular iced coffee with an extra shot of espresso and cream and syrup. The shop itself was very small, and we were hoping to try some of their meat pies but they had run out! read more

I found The Kookaburra on Yelp when I was looking for a place to kill an hour. I thought this place looked cool and cute so I gave it a try. It did not disappoint! Walking in, I thought the place looked hip and comfortable. It was busy but the wait wasn't too long. I ordered a Flat White to stay and it was awesome. I saw a group next me get scones and meat pies and boy was I jealous! They looked so good. The staff was so friendly and it was really a very pleasant expereince. read more

I love this place. My favorite of their coffee options is the Mocha Nut and the Honey Badger. Their espresso frappes are also great and not too sweet. I really like their pies and I also appreciate that they offer clotted cream with their scones. Great place to study or hang out. read more

Very good coffee.. lattes are very smooth and frothy! The best coffee in town but slightly more expensive than Starbucks.

I love this place, but I'm giving it two starts because they never have the crust less Aussie pies when I come in. I just went in at 8:30 and they were out. I requested that maybe they could make more and they said no because they don't want to have extras that no one gets at the end of the day. I can't be the only one disappointed about this. Like really, 8:30 and you're out, how do you only make a total of 5? I've given up and won't be back. read more

The coffee here is so good. I have to drink decaf because I'm very sensitive to caffeine and it's the best decaf I've had in town. It has a cute atmosphere and friendly staff. read more

Best coffee shop in town. I've lived here 10 years, and I've been waiting for a place like this the whole time. Thank you Kookaburra! Great locations, great options and best yet-GREAT SERVICE. I haven't met a Barista here I didn't like, just love this place! read more

Amazing coffees and great teas! Great service and a cool vibe. I know its really random but the tile in their floor makes me dizzy, that's the only negative thing I can say though- everything is awesome! read more

Über friendly staff. Lots of coffee beverage choices. Nice selections of baked goods and breakfast pies, meat pies, etc. Ample seating for chillaxing, working, talking at the bar or intimate seating. Music choices were spot on trend and mood. Would love to come back next time I'm in town. read more

Good vibe, great coffee, nice seating and decorations. One star knocked off for the fact that there's no secluded seating and I feel a bit on display with the large window. I like privacy when I work and sometimes it's nice to be able to feel like your convo is private. read more

Awesome baristas. We tried the diesel Aussie and honey badger (vanilla lattes with honey & cinnamon), we did both iced. Both were great, but my fav was honeybadger for sure! Sooooo good! Also had our first Aussie pie here. Hay straws were a nice sustainable effort too and so much better than the paper straws. Highly recommend this place!! read more

I went for a cafe con leche and was a little disappointed The reason i say this is because it was not the flavor a was looking for. With that said the cup of coffee i got was excellent. I went back three or four more times and tried different coffees all very very good. My new coffee place. Also tried a pie and it was very good. My wife does not drink coffee but she tried one of the hot teas and loved it so now we have a place we can go and enjoy a hot beverage in the morning. read more

So we have been customers for a long time we frequently visit Saint Augustine as we live in Jacksonville. We love bold bean coffee and that's what they had been using for a long time. Now as far as the taste of the coffee we've pretty much been happy with everything we've gotten from these guys but my review isn't just because of the coffee it's how I was treated today. I was out visiting in Saint Augustine with my mother we went to the farmers market earlier I had my kombucha she had iced matcha and I also had a tea. Nearly every time I come to Saint Augustine we thought that hookah Barra my family and I. We usually get something from the bakery case and multiple coffees. On one of my most recent visits I even bought my husband the kookaburra tank top. so why am I riding a three star review for a place that we have had no trouble with the quality of product. So like I said me and my mother came here today after visiting the amp a theater market and a couple other shops. We really wanted this coffee but we decided that we would just get a large and split it because we had consumed multiple caffeinated beverages earlier. I ordered a slice of the vegan banana bread and I ordered a large honey badger and asked for an extra cup. Now it wasn't until after my coffee was made I was told that I could not be given an extra cup because they wanted to cut down on waste. WTF ??? I just spent over $10 gave a small tip and was denied an extra cup so I couldn't share my drink with my mother without us drinking out of the same cup ! there was no lid and no straw I think that we pretty much cut down on waste. read more

Stopped in here today to get a coffee. Chose the Honey Badger, half sweet. Super delicious! It was plenty sweet, I can't imagine having it full sweetness, but to each their own! Cool vibe and friendly service! Will definitely go back! read more

Professional,inviting, great coffee,excellent quality!

This is my FAVORITE place!!!! I would go to their down town location almost every morning before work. All the employees are wonderful and they always have smiles on their faces. Any time any one asks me if I know where to get great coffee I tell them The Kookaburra! Hands down the best coffee shop and more in town I love all of their locations And it's a cute fun spot to hang out with friends and even read a book or do some homework. Just a all around great place!! read more

Absolutely love this place. All the baristas are super friendly and welcoming. I really enjoy doing my work there while having a fresh brewed coffee! You guys rock! I'm definitely looking forward to visiting your other locations. read more

Super cute unassuming little shop hidden away in a strip mall. Aussie-American as it was described by our super nice barista. She even went out of the way to bring us not only our drinks but also cream and sugar to the table. The place is very clean and I think I have found my new favorite hot tea from Art of Tea, their source from the west coast. I will be frequenting this place often. read more

Very average. 12oz drinks only have two shots of espresso. If a flavoring is ordered, they go very heavy on the syrups. For example, a hazelnut latte is very sweet from the syrup and light on the espresso. If that's your thing, go for it, but this is not a coffee drinkers coffee shop. read more

The Kook is consistently awesome. Good customer service, even better coffee. Their happy hour for beer & wine is good as well. So glad they have three convent locations now across St. Aug. If you like a sweet treat when it comes to coffee try the Honey Badger, comes hot or iced! read more

The coffee is very good! Not my favorite pastries, but definitely a great coffee place :) I go often!
