This is Kookaburra's largest location! I really loved the variety of seating available (armchairs, high tops, a bar area, and regular tables). I ordered a 12 oz. chai latte with 2% milk. My friend ordered a chocolate oatmeal muffin, which was flavorful. We were able to chat nicely without having to raise voices or feel like we had to whisper. I stopped in for a coffee. I ordered a flat white. They have many milk options but do not offer skim milk (doesn't bother me, but the person accompanying me only drinks skim). The coffee was superb. Stopped by to see what an Aussie pie was. I was served by a very friendly guy who explained what exactly the pie was. I got the spicy chicken one. It did not disappoint. The crust is made with puff pastry. The filling was a very flavorful. Full of veggies and a couple chicken chunks in a white sauce. Mine had lots of cauliflower pieces and hardly any chicken. It did have a spicy bite that was mild. The place was clean and spacious and lots of tables and comfy chairs. Can't wait to try the coffee next time. read more

The Kook is my preferred coffee shop in St. Augustine. Sometimes their coffee leans on the bitter side, but 9 times out of 10, they get it right. Today, I enjoyed a cortado and a green happy tea. The espresso tasted a bit over done, but the tea was what I needed in this FL heat. The staff is always on point when it comes to customer service and the environments of each location are always kept well. In the past, I've enjoyed the Honeybadger. Visited this AMAZING place while in town! Everything was perfect! The staff was super cool and the food and coffee was pretty darn good as well. I told the girl at the counter that myself and my family was visiting from out of town and she explained everything that they had available that day. We decided on the Coconut Chocolate Cherry iced coffee, Thai Chicken Pot pie, Banana Chocolate Muffin, Strawberry Lemon cupcake, and a hot Salted Caramel coffee. Everything was delicious. Absolutely love this place!! it's super cozy whether you want to meet someone or do work. Very open space that fits a lot of people, you can do work against the wall (with power outlets) and they have seat cushions which I think is brilliant because not a lot of other places are as thoughtful. Theres a small lounge area with comfy couches, a few tables for people to eat/chat, and you can also sit at the bar area and talk to the baristas. I like the variety! The staff is also super friendly and knowledgable. I love that their coffee is inexpensive and if you plan on staying there, they serve it in a glass or mug. Their aussie pie selection is great and affordable too - less than $6 and pretty filling! They play some music in the background but it's not too loud, I'm able to spend my day here without getting distracted from my work. This place is pretty popular on the weekend but the crowd comes in waves so it's not too bad. Definitely one of my favorite coffee spots :) read more

This was my second visit to the Kookaburra, first time at this location. I immediately fell in love with the ambiance. Clean lines, spacious, and it smelled absolutely amazing. I can totally see myself returning and getting a big drink and hanging out gadgeting, reading, and people watching. I was actually there to buy The Sweet City cupcakes but decided to get a coffee drink while I was there. I ordered a medium mocha nut and it was delicious. A little on the sweet side but not as bad as the big chain coffee shop. It pains me not to give a 5-star review to a locally-owned business as the drink was delicious and the facility gorgeous - but I feel that my drink was too expensive for what I got. I ordered a medium, which the sign advised me would be 12 ounces. I ordered it iced and it was still in a 12 ounce cup but was now mostly ice. So, go, enjoy - but order hot or size up. read more

You'd think that a business would keep track of how many people they have to turn away on a daily basis and adjust the quantities upward to meet or at least closely meet demand. I went there for some coffee and check out their Aussie pies. I ordered the Neuron Bomb (espresso with coconut oil) which was a nice surprise. I like coconut and I love espresso but didn't know if the two would be ok together especially when one is in an oil form. I rather liked it. I had it unsweetened (I normally drink my coffee black). The Neuron Bomb turned out to be a nice creamy textured espresso shot with no cream. You can taste the coconut but it doesn't overpower. I also ordered some pies to go. The two different beef ones were alright but too salty and one with cheese on top was a little burned. The chicken chili one had a nice crust and nice flavored but the veggies could've have been cut a little smaller (since it's a small pie) so the texture can be better. The strawberry pie was very nice with the crumble on top it satiates any sweet tooth. The only difficulty I have is actually getting into the place. I was traveling alone with the baby so I had a small stroller (thankfully I didn't bring the full size one). It is located up a few steps so I had to take the baby out and set him on the stairs so that I can move the stroller up the stairs. The place is pretty small so the umbrella stroller had trouble maneuvering inside as well. read more

Fortunately, this location in particular is tucked away in a strip mall, away from the tourist area, so you have to know where it is to find it.
