The place looks new and very clean. The girls working there were friendly and quick to bring your items to you. I got the Rhody Latte, think coffee milk meets latte and shared a chicken parm and an Italian sandwich. The Italian was good but the star was the chicken parm for me. The sauce was great and really made the sandwich for me. The coffee, to me, was good but the coffee milk portion overpowered the coffee flavor. It's worth trying unless you're a coffee purist. All in all I would go back and try other drinks and sandwiches, and maybe one of those delicious looking cookies.

The place is super bright, airy and open - seating lining the wall as well as a few comfy arm chairs with tables and more seating past the ordering counter. Service was very friendly - everyone was warm and full of smiles. For sammiches, we ordered the Italian and the Chicken Parm. For coffees, we got the Rhody latte and honey latte. I snuck in a potato salad and brownie - who's counting calories at this point? We opted to eat in so grabbed a seat and our sammiches came out 5-10 mins later. The chicken parm - chef's kiss! It was super tasty with a good amount of sauce overflowing on top of the fried chicken cutlets. It was so good I was tempted to order one to go and it was a good sized portion! The mister got the Italian, although not the best we've had still very good - good portions as well. The potato salad was meh - could use a pinch of salt. The lattes weren't bad - I didn't mind my honey latte but the mister was just ok with the Rhody latte - he felt with the autocrat syrup, it was fighting with the espresso flavor. All in all - I would absolutely come back for another chicken parm sammich and would like to try some of their other options.

Smashed patty two pieces of limp bacon (actually looks like one piece cut in half) with cheese on a soft roll. $16. I am enjoying it on the patio while the sun beams down on me. Ambiance is good. Nina, who was helpful and so very friendly, alerted us to the full course meal. It happened to be a Monday evening and the full meal special was meatloaf which both Hubby and I do like. It was a full course meal. I ordered a grilled cheese since I knew I would enjoy some of his meal. The grilled cheese was extremely scanty having a very small amount of cheese so I would never select that again. However, the meal itself was quite good. Salad was excellent, meatloaf, vegetable and potatoes were high is scoring too! the dessert which was a phenomenal chocolate mousse cake was perfection. Eating that was heavenly!! So his very reasonable full course meal pleased both of us and we would try that again!!

Banana peppers give it a slice kick with a medium salsa and sour cream side to mix in. Exellent dinner salad option. The chicken parm meal comes with spaghetti or ziti and is a large portion. You can also get the chicken parm as a sandwich if you prefer. Breakfast, lunch and dinner service. A local non-profit hosts an annual fund raiser here: a percentage of all meals eaten on a specific day goes to the non-profit organization. The restaurant does this often with local groups. The bacon was crisp and not overly greasy or salty, very unusual. My boyfriend had the hillbilly eggs Benedict. This incredible dish included three biscuits, two sausage patties, sausage, gravy, eggs over easy and a side of home fries. So much food it would take three people to finish! Egg was delicious and well cooked, sausage had lots of flavor, and the presentation was also excellent. Small place, but nobody rushed you to go out the door and the server was extremely attentive and friendly. Definitely a local favorite and definitely worth the time. Also what we enjoyed was. There is no 'handicapped parking' specifically for Gel's due to the way the parking lot is designed. This is such a lovely offering and very much in line with Gel's local community mind set. The doors into the vestibule are heavy glass and metal. Seat yourself in one of the booths. When they remodeled they added a small bar to the back area if you prefer counter seating. They offer a variety of mimosa flavors at breakfast and beer and wine at lunch. Although I suppose if you want a beer with your eggs, have at it. The front and side walls have large windows making the interior bright. They offer so many specials. Check out all the white boards on the back wall above the counter seating. These are in addition to their standard menu. Breakfast items include egg based meals (eggs & bacon & toast for ex.), pancakes, hash and lots of al la carte sides. Coffee is good and comes with free refills. The lunch menu includes sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps and they have a kids menu too. They also offer Kino if you like. They sell Gel's merch (holiday gifts?) and decorate for all the holidays.
