It is a B&B with a beautiful shared common area, including working fireplace with stocked wood ready to burn. It is a stone's throw from the water and would be ideal for anyone bringing kayaks. Claude also allows pets which is hard to find. The location is outstanding. You can walk to town and the Seaport easily. In addition, it is about a 5 minute walk from the train station. This place is idea for someone wanting to get away from NYC for a weekend. No car required. Muffins, coffee, and tea are complimentary. I noticed a BBQ grill outside, which I think can be used by guests. There is a common kitchen and dining room table for guests to share. The bathrooms are a little bit small, however, that is part of the charm. The ONLY downside, IMO, was the walls are a little bit thin and the beds are a not the most plush. This is a minor inconvenience for such a great value and location, location, location to everything Mystic has to offer. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and couples. NOTE: You must pay CASH upon arrival. The owner will take credit card for your reservation, but you must pay cash immediately upon arriving.

Our room and rate was for a room with a pool view. Instead we received a room with zero windows, no apology and instead blamed it on the third-party listing, that they should have called us to tell us the room we booked was unavailable. We drove 8 hours to get here. Then the key cards to our room didn't work so they had to give us a physical key, and of course there is only one key, so my husband and I have to coordinate our comings and goings. Meanwhile, my in-laws who had a non-view room originally ended up getting an ocean-view instead. When I complained the front desk told me I needed to complain to the third-party and they always recommend booking directly bc then they would work with us, therefore abdicating any responsibility for their mistake. UPDATE: the manager got us a different room with a window and balcony. She was extremely nice, understanding and professional. We are so pleased that this issue was resolved to our satisfaction.

Our room was the deluxe suite with king bed which was just a few dollars more than the standard room but definitely worth it. The room was very very spacious, neat and most importantly very clean! The bathroom unlike other hotels had bunch of different size towels and small toiletries for the shower. In the lobby there's an ATM machine but was out of service and a small snack bar with prices clearly marked on each item. Their breakfast is ok could be a little better. Prior to our arrival we went online to see if this Navy Lodge had space available, and it was showing they have 3 rooms available for booking. So we decided to just do a walk in and the manager (Karll Smith) was rude and unprofessional. Mr. Smith told us that they had 3 rooms under construction, and he had no space available. So we called the Navy Lodge central booking, and reported this poor customer service and unprofessional staff member. We were booked a room and our credit card was charged $107 June 16, 2026, but no room was available. So we ended up going to the Navy Inn instead, which had much better customer service. How and why would you have anyone working at your Lodge with this kind of attittude, not good at all. This is CC fraud, I will be reporting this to my CC company if this isn't reversed.
