There were some positives and negatives during our stay, and it's important to note that this B&B is under new management. It's never easy taking over a B&B, and the family that now runs this place seems very nice, and hospitable. That said, at $450 or more per night, execution is requisite for a high Yelp rating. We stayed here four 4-days and 3-nights in the Rosa room. Each room here is somewhat unique (I think there are only 8 rooms here), therefor experiences may be somewhat idiosyncratic to the specific room. Positives: + Hospitable welcome, alerted us by phone when the rooms was ready + Welcome gift (nice touch) + Large room + Gas fireplace which worked well + Comfortable king bed + Pleasant grounds + Separate entrance for this room + Convenient location + Excellent homemade breakfast with seating times to prevent crowding Negatives: - Road noise (on a very busy road, traffic including trucks 100 feet away) - Musty smelling, we couldn't keep windows open at night due to road noise - No sugar, etc. in room for coffee - Bathroom outlets not working - Bathroom door difficult to close - Blinds were broken on one side, and just left standing in the corner of the room, these should have been removed if they could not be repaired - Large piece of plastic left on the window sill, looked dirty there, not well cleaned - Uncomfortable sleep sofa couch for sitting and small TV - Microwave not working (actually it was after we figured out nobody plugged it in) - Outside light over door is on automatic timers, too bright for the light filtering shade, so the room is lit up at night (we prefer a dark room for sleeping) - Rosa backs up to the kitchen, and we could hear a lot of banging and noise at 10pm as they were doing prep work for the next morning The negatives balance out the positives for a 3-star stay. Bottom line, we'd be unlikely to return, especially to that room. read more

Traveling by the Villa many times a week for the last 22 years, I have seen many changes - some welcoming and some not. I have to say since April 2023 - New Inn Keepers - John and Heather show a wonderful couple co-managing the Villa in so many wonderful ways. Their attention to those that stay is 5- Stars. Having traveled extensively and doing my best to frequent Inns. They treat every guest, and guest family like there own family. They want to know your likes and dislikes so they can cater to you and make your experience a more than memorable one. They have created a beautiful oasis in the back yard and although much is within minutes (beach, golf, good food), it is quiet. The Villa is immaculate and so welcoming. I feel bad John and Heather spend so much time catering to us and working so hard but they have a passion for it, and it comes out in everything you see and talk to them about at the property. We had a wonderful visit and they truly helped my daughter and now son-in-law as they prepared for their wedding just down the road. Thank you both so much for your amazing care, attention to details, and your openness to helping us have the best day possible for the newly-weds. Short Version: This is an outstanding Bed & Breakfast. You won't go wrong spending a night or five here. Long Version: When you think of a Bed & Breakfast, there are several things that come to mind. Friendly, accomodating hosts -- check! Beautiful home with nicely appointed rooms -- check! Lots of fresh fluffy towels in your private bathroom -- check! Delicious home-cooked breakfast in the morning -- check plus! Baked goods in the afternoon? They got cookies! Adult beverages at night - check :-) Free wifi, TV, etc - check. Well maintained grounds around the house. Nice lawn areas, nice swimming pool, very relaxing. Hosts could not be nicer, the guests were very nice as well (although this is beyond anyone's control). This was by far the overall best experience we have had at a B&B! The grounds are perfectly manicured with flowers, a gazebo and sparkling pool. The breakfast was just phenomal! It was served either at your room, poolside or in the dining room, your choice. Menu options were diverse, healthy and fresh. Every detail is looked after. Even cocktails set out with a treat before your evening festivities. A new, eclectic array of dvd's were available along with popcorn to enjoy in the room. They even had a huge bookcase of great reading material and a computer available. The room was spacious, private, had a great view & large bathroom. The two person jacuzzi actually fit two tall adults. Barbara and Michael take great pride in their home and making their customer service above all, most important. They took the time every moment we were around to interact, offer information about Westerly and make sure we were enjoying our stay. They also have a staff who cares for the establishment, served the meals and did everything they could to make our stay perfect. To top it off, Westerly is amazing! The fresh ocean view was the best bike ride one could ask for!!! Downtown, the beaches, lighthouse, restaurants and country roads are all accessable by bike, so fun!!! What an amazing little hidden gem! Beautiful B&B, tucked away in Westerly. We stayed in the Tuscany room, which was beautiful. Queen sized sleigh bed, 2 person soaking jacuzzi tub, a nice sitting area, and a nice glass shower with rainfall shower head. There was a gorgeous picture window in our room allowing for ample sunlight. The breakfast in our room option was amazing and delicious! It was a great way to spend our anniversary! Betsy and Mike are fabulous hosts, thinking of every little detail possible to make our stay a memorable one. I highly recommend checking it out! The Villa in Westerly RI, is probably the closed one can come to the romance of Tuscany without getting on a plane. The smiling staff are always there, but never noticeable. We honestly felt as though we had the entire resort to ourselves. We even arranged to stay in multiple rooms. Yes, the rooms were breathtaking! One of our favorite little moments that set The Villa apart (for us), was when we came back from dinner at the The Ocean Restaurant, and when we entered, they had a selection placed on the dining room table for a complimentary nightcap for their guests. Definitely a nice touch. We plan on returning again this Summer. read more

A wonderful, romantic, homey getaway just a stone's throw from the more populated areas in Westerly and Watch Hill. Excellent accommodations, food and guest service. The grounds are exquisite. Would absolutely go back! Owner Michael was dead-on with each of his dining recommendations. On our arrival, I was surprised by lovely flowers/very good wine that were selected by Michael at my husband's request. Owner Michael whips up some fabulous breakfasts (don't miss the banana french toast), each one better than the last! Loved the cookies and liquor setup each afternoon. The pool was a bit chilly in early August but very clean. The room was immaculate every staff member was super friendly and engaged. Suggestion: The front window of Tuscany room would benefit from light blocking drapes and the vertical blinds need adjusting so that they open and close smoothly. read more

My wife and I really had a wonderful time in the Blue Grotto at the Villa in Westerly, RI, and really enjoyed talking to Mike and Betsy, our hosts. The Blue Grotto is heated by a beautiful gas fireplace on a thermostat, so it remains cozy at all times and the bed was really comfortable. Add to that a super Jacuzzi, a complementary nightime cordial and a super breakfast of hot, fruit-filled crepes, and we did not want to leave. Unlike many places in RI that close for the winter, the Villa is open nearly year-round, and Dec is the perfect time to visit, though the pool was clearly out of the question! This is just the coolest place-give it a try! We will certainly be back and recommend it to all our friends. read more

We had a great stay at the villa. The owner was very attentive and friendly and we enjoyed meeting their two sweet dogs. We arrived in the evening and they had complimentary drinks out in the dining room. After we got back from dinner she was nice enough to turn the jacuzzi back on so we could make the most of our time there. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious. The Villa Bed & Breakfast is a perfect choice for a couples getaway! First impressions start with a beautifully manicured property with a large variety of beautiful flowers! You are greeted by Betsy with a big smile and feel welcome immediately! Our guest room was immaculate and included a beautiful four poster king bed, a jetted soaking tub, a table and chairs, a comfortable large sofa and tucked away in the closet is a refrigerator and coffee maker. The bathroom included a double sink and a huge shower! Breakfast choices are incredible every day and can be delivered to your room, by the pool or in the breakfast room of the property. The heated pool is very clean and the focal point of the back yard. There also is a jacuzzi beside the pool. The cleanliness of the property and guest rooms was very impressive! The property provides beach towels and a refrigerator with beer and water for the guests at no extra charge. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the linens are soft. When you arrive back after dinner, you will be greated with cordials and plates of deserts, again free of charge for the guests. Betsy was always available to suggest a great place to eat or new places to explore in the area. We absolutely loved our stay and left totally relaxed.
