The shredded beef melt was great! The fries were fine, not super crispy but tolerable. We went for trivia, which was fun, and they also have a deal on Mondays and Tuesdays that allows you to add a dessert and a drink to your meal for around half the price of the dessert on its own. My first time eating inside and I was impressed with how they managed to keep the noise level down considering how many people were in the restaurant. Our Wait staff Kevin was friendly efficient and had a great vibe about him. I orders the Jordan's Cheese Fries, thinking They were a small appetizer but not so at all! The plate was heaping loaded with cheese and bacon bit. One guest got the burger melt which was cooked perfectly and my other guest got the Barbeque Pork sandwich which looked good too. The pickles served as a snack while looking through the menu were amazing, not jar pickles real cucumbers resting in a mellow brine, crisp and delish. We have been going to Greg's for decades and the recent service has been insulting! The food has gotten more and more expensive, while the quality and costumer service has gotten worse and worse, board-line rude. We recently went to Greg's takeout for 3 people costing $66 and received 4 pickles and 2 rolls. We also did not revive the extra dressing for the salad that we asked for. The salad was absolutely underwhelming and extremely disappointing compared to Greg's of years ago. When I called, the manger and GM both defended the service and stated that the rolls and pickles are "complementary," even though they admitted that they were built into the price. They are cutting corners everywhere! The portion size seems to get smaller and smaller every time we go. Went and sat in the Tavern for trivia. Excellent time! Larry was a great trivia host. Just had drinks and nachos. The nachos were huge. A bit too much cheese in certain areas... I always wish nachos had a cheese sauce because I'm not a huge fan when theres just GLOBS of melted cheese cooling on my chips. But the overall experience was good, would order again. Went to Greg's for the first time to get a piece of cheesecake and asked if I could get a slice with whipped cream and the girl said sure. I was charged almost $10 and got a tiny piece with whipped cream on the side. This restaurant is a joke and should be ashamed. read more

This last time, I got the traditional burger with fries and it was done perfectly. Nice and moist with some really nice crispy fries. Gregg's opened in 1972 and is known for their cakes for a reason; they are super decadent, moist, and scrumptious. There are four locations; in Providence, Warwick, East Providence, and a North Kingstown. It is a Rhode Island tradition! This one has spacious parking and the customer service was great. We were seated right away and the food came out quick. Their menu was huge and they have a to-go section where you can also order ahead by calling or going on their website to order. We started off with crab cakes as an appetizer; two crab cakes were drizzled with Chipotle aioli which were good. I had the margarita which was large and decently priced; it was 3.5 out of 5 stars. I ordered the chicken salad club with fries, these were delicious. Of course, I had to get the chocolate cake dessert and it was amazing. My wife had salad with turkey that was a small amount as well. I think the chain should get rid of the free pickles, and add more to the sandwich. Where is the value?? Meal cost $55.00 with tip. Next time I'll go elsewhere. For another $10.00 could of gone to higher end establishment. Should have gone to supermarket, got a LB of turkey, rolls, pre-cooked bacon, and made (10) sandwiches. read more

Nothing spectacular. We had an appetizer of calamari and it was very skimpy for the price. Followed by an angus burger with mushrooms (which were cold). I had the chicken italiana which was grilled chicken (about 4oz serving) served with broccoli, black olives and pepper rings (didn't find any) and red peppers (which I was told couldn't be removed because it was in the "sauce" ) all served over approx 1/2-3/4# of penne pasta and tossed in their garlic herb sauce. My chicken was cold and there was NO sauce. I had to send it back after I was done picking out the red peppers (which don't like me) so that they could reheat it and add sauce (which I still I still did not get). Well the 1st bite was warmer but the middle was still cold. I put most of it in my take out container to eat later. They gave gone down hill significantly since our last visit here a year ago. read more

I felt like it was an old Happy Chef restaurant that served all American food and add some seafood. The early 80s were calling. It was packed. Had the lobster roll and yes it was good and had very little mayo. Personally, I wanted more mayo. Fries and cole slaw were just that. They had no clam chowder of any kind.... But this is the capitol of clam chowder? The biggest surprise was the pre-dinner pickles. I haven't seen that in my life but I will say I liked them. read more

So we had to venture into Warwick for an appointment so I suggested we try Gregg's. We never cared for the N.K. location but have had good luck in the past here. My other half was a little hesitant. I ordered the special of the day, corned beef and cabbage and she ordered baked fish. After the bread and cucumbers it was all downhill. You would need a table saw to cut the corned beef. There was no question this was microwaved the crap out of it. The fish seem to start well and that very early went south. The broccoli that came with it you could not eat. What happened here? I will never step foot into another Gregg's again. The server was a young kid and he was excellent. I was not going to give him any grief, he didn't cook this disaster. My husband and I dined at Greggs Restaurant in Warwick, RI on Sunday, March 29, 2026. We sat in the Tavern and ordered shrimp tacos and a Tzatziki Wrap. The tacos contained jalapeno peppers which were not stated on the menu. My husband is a tongue and throat cancer survivor and had undergone high levels of radiation. The jalapeno peppers which were not stated as an ingredient on the menu, burned my husband's throat!! The restaurant refuses to accept responsibility by failing to list Ingredients that could cause potential harm to patrons. We didn't say anything to staff but my husband was still feeling the effects of the jalapeno peppers in the morning. Management and corporate were very dismissive and would not accept responsibility. We are asking for full compensation and clearer menu ingredients so other patrons are not harmed the way we were. Attorney Generals Office has been contacted. read more

I'm well past being objective about Gregg's, over the years the restaurant continues to exude excellence from every chowder clogged pore. In New Jersey we'd call this a diner, except that Gregg's goes well beyond the basics and can do justice to even the most complicated of dishes. Although I have to admit that time and the constant hectoring of my doctor has sworn me off a gargantuan slice of their sumptuous carrot cake (or any of their marvelous homemade desserts) the temptation always remains. We were greeted quickly and server came over right after sitting. Very little or no eye contact from our server who seemed to be having a bad day.. service was good but server seemed like she didn't want to be there, rolling her eyes at customer who requested extra napkins. I like to give servers the benefit of the doubt, we all have bad days. Service here was always good at this location. Food was served quickly. I started with the calamari. Meh, very dry. I asked for olives to be added and asked if they had olive oil, server answered yes. Well if it was Olive oil, it was not very good. My bet is that it was vegetable oil. I won't be having calamari from Gregg's anytime soon. Wife had the turkey dinner and was very satisfied. Cole slaw was excellent. Of course we had to have the pickles! Along with warm rolls and butter. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap with blue cheese. Tasty wrap and the blue cheese was excellent. Plenty of parking and plenty of tables. I prefer the providence location, but was out in Warwick so that's why we ate here. Would eat here again, but definitely not ordering calamari. read more

Was in the area and starving, so decided to try Gregg's Restaurant for an early dinner. Was really no one there when we got there but it was pretty early for dinner. When you walk in there is a bakery counter you can buy bakery treats and pick up to go orders. We were seated at a booth as requested. The décor is very nice although they are seriously due for a carpet replacement. This is a family style restaurant with many options on the menu. I chose roasted turkey which came with stuffing, mashed potatoes and butternut squash. It came with soup or salad. I chose Chicken Noodle soup. The soup was delicious. The turkey entrée was very good except mashed potatoes tasted like they were from the day before. Hubby got Chicken Parmesam. He said the chicken was very good but the sauce was horrible. Tasted like jarred or canned sauce. They have a huge selction for dessert although we did not take advantage of it. read more

They had amazing cakes and we got the biggest cupcake I have ever seen with amazing butter crème frosting. Meal itself was ok. Our server started out great. Very sweet and friendly but once she got busy seemed to forget us. My wife's entree was forgotten and I was almost done eating by time my wife got hers. Salads appeared to be ready salad but at least not brown. I had a grilled chicken dish which was good. Finally got our check and after waiting 10 minutes for our server to come by to pick it up finally went up front to pay. Chalk it up to a rough night for her as she started out great. Ordered fish n chips, which were delicious! I had sweet potato fries (my dinner mate had traditional). They were wavy cut and crispy on the outside and soft as they should be inside. Stole a regular fry and same great taste there as well. The fish was also nice and crispy yet not one bit of greasy. Beautiful white flaky fish -I think it's cod - but it doesn't matter was delicious and one of the best fish n chips I've had in a long time and being a new englander, I've had my share! Followed by a nice cup of hot Chicken Noodle Soup. Full of noodles and flavor! For my meal I ended up sticking with what I always used to get... Good old fashioned Turkey dinner. lol It was very good! Dessert you say? Of course! We are at Gregg's! After trying their delicious cakes at various birthday parties over the years I finally had the opportunity to try out all that Gregg's has to offer. Honestly, I have no idea why it took so long! To start out we were brought fresh, warm rolls and homemade pickle slices. Both were very tasty and put us in the mood to see what they could do here! I went for the buffalo Mac and cheese. I opted for the chicken noodle soup to start, as it was a cold rainy day, and why not? The soup was nice and warm, big noodles, nice chunks of chicken, and loaded with flavor. This flavor was blown completely out of the water with their buffalo Mac and cheese, however! The buffalo chicken was awesome! A slight crunch to the breading with an amazing buffalo sauce that had the perfect kick to it. Their Mac and cheese was equally as impressive. Homemade cheese, rich and creamy, and oh so good. So mixing these two things together is simply an amazing creation, why not add some blue cheese crumbles to make it absolutely phenomenal!!! So Gregg's more than proved themselves for being about more than great desserts... but seriously, how could you leave here without at least taking something sweet and delicious home? We both opted for the chocolate mousse cake. I have never tried it until today, but believe that it may be my favorite now! Rich and decadent chocolate mousse, with Gregg's delicious chocolate cake. This is a dessert review! I've not eaten other food from Gregg's. We tried Gregg's cake at a friend's wedding in early 2019, and immediately decided to also have it at our wedding in late 2019. We chose four cake types (Death by Chocolate, Hasbro Chocolate Peanut Butter, Raspberry Coconut and GF Chocolate) and got two/three of each, which was too much for 100 people and cost a tiny fraction of what a typical wedding cake cost. And was far tastier (you know, wedding cake is usually pleasing to the eye but not the tongue, ie the worst). Fast forward to 2021, we have made a special trip to Gregg's for some anniversary cake twice. This year we bought an entire Raspberry Coconut cake because IT IS SO GOOD. I'm obsessed. read more
