Our waitress was awesome! Very upbeat and friendly and happy. Comfortable seating. The food was better than expected and decent sized portions. I was pleasantly surprised and a little impressed with this place. Definitely will be back. The onion rings were perfect!

I haven't had a classic diner breakfast for a while until visiting PB & J's. It was a super cozy spot that felt nostalgic but was also modern at the same time. When we arrived, it was pretty busy but we were still able to get a table quickly. We ordered an eggs benedict with ham, home fries, baked beans, pb & j french toast, and iced coffee. All of the food was good but the coffee was just ok.

we stopped by here for breakfast this morning. i had rasin french toast. i think it was french toast, i didnt taste any resins. i didnt think it was possible to make bad french toast, but they proved me wrong. my dad had hash browns eggs toast and coffee.. my dad said the hash browns were burnt. i didnt know you could burn hash browns. but i guess they found a way. the only part of my breakfast that was good, was the water. i would have given this place a one, but i didnt want to be totally rude.

Awesome experience! Came here after a hard loss in the hockey championship. They were so accommodating and friendly. Love the outdoor area - you can smell the ocean. Lots of options - breakfast, lunch, seafood. Strongly recommend - great for groups!

Clam cakes were tasty, freshly fried, with lovely crisp skin but not much clam. Asked the nice counter lady to recommend the version of doughboy to try and she suggested original or cinnamon sugar. Selected cinnamon sugar on the side. The original, quite fluffy, was somewhat bland tasting. Dusting with cinnamon sugar elevated both texture and taste. The doughs were light with a beautiful golden brown glow. Rhode Island clear chowder (extra broth) was okay but could be better.

We usually have dinner next door at the restaurant, and before heading home we walk over to Iggy's to grab a box of fresh doughboys to take with us. Somehow there's always room for doughboys. One of the things I appreciate most is the consistency. It doesn't seem to matter how busy they are, the doughboys are almost always fresh out of the fryer. They're light, golden brown, and cooked just right. I've never had one that was burnt, greasy, or raw in the middle. They strike a nice balance between having a crisp exterior and a soft, fluffy center, and they're generously dusted with enough sugar to satisfy a sweet tooth without making a complete mess. The menu has plenty of classic Rhode Island favorites if you're looking for chowder, clam cakes, or other seafood, but for us it's always about the doughboys. They've become part of the ritual whenever we're at Oakland Beach, and it's one tradition we don't plan on changing anytime soon. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because this place is incredibly popular, especially during the warmer months. Depending on when you go, you may find yourself standing in line for a while. That's not necessarily a knock on the business because a busy restaurant usually says something about its reputation, but it's worth knowing if you're in a hurry. The prices are fair, the staff keeps the line moving as efficiently as they can, and the quality has remained remarkably consistent over the years. That's becoming increasingly rare. If you're spending the day at Oakland Beach and leave without stopping at Iggy's for doughboys, I think you're missing out on one of the area's best traditions. We'll definitely keep coming back.

A hostess will seat you and during our visit the weather was good and we had the option of inside, outside or bar. We were given menus and a waitress came by after a few minutes to take a drink order. We ordered a variety of foods: fried fish platter, chowder and clam cakes, pasta and baked fish. The food was prepared in a timely manner. Not overly long, not quick. The waitress kept an eye on us and refilled drinks when needed. Everyone enjoyed their meals. No complaints. Parking is in three lots before the building with handicap spots closest to the building. There are a few on street spots available to anyone (not just restaurant guests). They also have a 'take out' window with a video menu on the building. It changes pages quickly so it may take a few rotations to decide. Restrooms inside are at the back and are clean. An ATM is just inside the door along with merch and the specials menu. Iggy's is a RI institution and with the addition of an outdoor bar and picnic tables near the beach there is more room for guests. Still, plan to arrive early or be prepared to wait for a seat. Order pick-up, make a reservation and view the menu through their website. You can also purchase merch there and have it shipped.

Several large dining rooms and two different bars, one that has four sides that pretty much covers the entire room. The decor is nothing special, sort of pseudo-victorian or something. Not unpleasant but not particularly aesthetic. The food was quite good. The four in our party had eggplant Parmesan , which was served with a huge bowl of pasta and was excellent. Clam strips which were pretty decent. A one and a half pound lobster that was absolutely superb and a liver and onion entree which looked and smelled disgusting but was enjoyed by the person actually consuming it. We were also served some excellent warm bread. The service was also excellent, our waitress brought us more bread without us asking and made sure our coffee and water was always filled. She took the time to explain the different ways to have our meals prepared and was quite perky and friendly. I have driven by Bassett countless times without ever stopping in. I now realize what a mistake that was.
