Dad and I used to go to breakfast every weekend but it got pricey. Boy am I glad we found this spot! The food is delicious. Fast and tasty. Prices are reasonable. The staff is wonderful. It's a small spot so you may have to wait a few but it's worth it ! The menu is huge so many options if you have picky eaters. It's a great place. Highly recommend. This morning my family and I had breakfast at the Homefries Restaurant. In every regard, price, quality, and ambiance, they exceeded my expectations. It was much cozier than the photos on yelp show. It was clean and warm inside, no loud music at 7:30am, room to stretch your legs. The food was extremely good. Perfectly seasoned homefries didn't even need table salt. We had pancakes and eggs, I had the garbage omelette, toast. Nothing was bad or poorly cooked. It was some of the best bacon I've ever had. My wife and I each had big breakfasts with tea and coffee and came out under $40 with tax and generous tip. This is the theoretical ideal of a local breakfast joint that all other non-chains should strive for. 10/10 read more

The server and staff were super friendly and attentive, unfortunately the food was very bland, no flavor at all. I ordered home made hash (crispy) with poached eggs on toasted english muffin. The hash was not crispy and the english muffins were (defrosted) not toasted and very doughy. The eggs were poached in plain water and totally tasteless. You must season the poaching water with salt and pepper, at least. Very disappointed. To top it all off there was a "convenience fee" added to the bill!!! Unacceptable. First time ordering from there, been living in Johnston for so long wanted to give it a try I should of known this place has great breakfast because every time I drove by I always see it's packed. The breakfast was a delicious and a good size too. The staff were very friendly upon picking up my food and as I went in the atmosphere in there was neutral everyone having breakfast of course you see ole folks having breakfast and coffee talking about work and daily life and so on... Was coming from an appointment and was hungry. Never really eat around the Johnston area. Looked through Yelp reviews this stemmed promising. I was greeted in a warm and king manner by the waitress. Super nice. She knew her food and was honest about everything which helped. I decided to have the Johnston Omelet. Eggs, Broccoli, green peppers and onions. I have had any greens lately so I decided to have this dish because of the broccoli plus I dig broccoli if cooked right. The crowed so you be more towards the Senior Citizen. They all seem to be comfortable so that may make them the usual customer. Sevice: great service Food: Good so far, first-timer I will give high stars and come again definitely. read more

Ordered a breakfast from doordash. French toast with bacon and and English muffin. Although it was nearly $9 it was quite good- so I would say albeit expensive; worth it. Although sad to say - I wasn't given any maple syrup just jelly, ketchup, butter & utensils in the bag. The bacon was a little thin- but good. The grilled English muffin was burnt - I don't know how restaurants can in good conscience give someone burnt food? Again still edible- so it wasn't too upsetting. I also ordered a coffee and never received it- my guess is the DoorDash Delivery Driver forgot to give me it. This has always been one of my favorite breakfast places. Everything was great- my only issue would be that next time I order food from them I need to ask for syrup on the side as well as my home fries well done - but that's preference ! I was just dropping my mom off and drove by this place. I was hungry....it was late morning. I said hmmm why not? This place is super cute. It's everything you need from a breakfast spot. Super low key. Homegrown lookin spot. Got myself a bacon egg and cheese on a English muffin. Comes with home fries. I opted with onions. It's the superior choice. The food was average but that was ok. The service was lovely. Just nice people that work there. Just real nice regular kind human beings. And honestly in the world we live in right now....that's sometimes all you need. Would I go back? Yes. Places like this need business. Good people. Decent food. Ate breakfast there this morning. Food was good staff was good but sweating due to lack of AC it was 84 degrees inside the restaurant too hot to sit and eat inside. Owner needs to open his wallet and turn the air on, not only for us customers but for your employees that are running around serving us. Unacceptable!!! read more

Homefries is super affordable and has some of the best omelettes around. They have a white board on display that features very unique specials. The day I went they had salt and pepper homefries. Waitress Michelle was overwhelmed with no help and had to ask a for help from the back room on a Thursday around 11:00am. I have to say as soon as the restraunts open again this is going to be my 1st stop. My favorite is the Portuguese sweetbread French toast with their sugar free syrup. (A guy has to cut back when he can) lol. If I'm not that hungry, I grab the egg and cheese on an onion bagel sandwich with flavor of the day homefries. For $4.75 you can't beat it. Great breakfast resterant! I'm definitely going again! The restaurant is very cosy there wasn't many people there. Our waiter was very nice! There is a Early bird deal where if you go at any time between 6-8 your meal is $5. I went with my mother and I got 2 chocolate chip pancakes with water, and she got a veggie omlet with coffee.
