I saw that someone on Facebook asked about best ice cream spots around Gainesville and this one came up more than once. I was surprised since I have never heard of this place and come to find out it's brand new. I decided to make the drive and it was well worth it. So I don't like banana-flavored anything. I'll eat an actual banana, sure ,but when it comes to banana desserts? Hard pass. So when I got the Banana Cream Pie flavor at The Ice Cream Vault, I was expecting to take one polite bite and move on. But wow... it was actually really good. The banana pudding flavor was smooth and not overpowering, and there were soft little marshmallow pieces mixed in that gave it a fun texture. The best part? That bite of crust hidden in there, buttery, rich, and ridiculously good. I got lucky that they had just enough left over for me because their bucket was almost empty. They also have a great variety of other flavors and treats, including cheesecake, cupcakes, and cakes. I'll definitely be back to try something new. The carrot cake cheesecake is calling my name. Cute spot, worth the visit!

Such a cool new find! You walk into a huge selection and great variety of ice cream (including so many allergy accommodations)! Genuinely has now become my new favorite ice cream place in the Gainesville area. Also, the workers were super nice and helpful!

Decisions, decisions!

Absolutely love this place! No way you would ever convince me that the largest ice cream shop in Florida was located in Alachua!!! Great selection, so many that you'll spend more time trying to decide than it takes you to eat it. The ice cream itself is one of the best, not sicky sweet like the chain places. Don't miss out, just go and enjoy this hidden gem!

Okay I love supporting new food businesses and Alachua is a great spot for this new ice cream place. They also just got a dirty soda concept upstairs. The ambiance was nothing special, but they boast 140 flavors of ice cream and they had every possible flavor you could think of. However, i wouldn't get the ice cream again because it was very grainy. If they just had the ice cream it would be a 2 star BUT they have a baked good section and the baked goods are where it's at!! I had the best key lime dessert I've ever had and their dessert cups were also amazing. So desserts and bakery items are a must, ice cream, while a cool concept, was a pass.

Elephant ears ice cream in a small town... yes please!!!

The service when these girls are working is REMARKABLE!!! They are polite and quick! Great team!!! The ice cream selection is the best!! Nice size servings!

Area to pay, also offers baked goods

Great service, lots of choices on what to eat, love all the dairy free options, toasted coconut especially! The brownie sundae is too notch as the brownie is warm! Plenty of seating inside as well!

Awesome ice cream place. Super friendly staff, crazy number of flavors, and the ice cream itself is good. Lovely spot in downtown Alachua.

Baker Baker - More pastries until they sell out!

We got to Baker Baker around 8:10am on A Saturday and they were already sold out of most things,…read morewhich honestly just shows how loved they are. The lady at the front was so kind and welcoming, even though it was clear they'd had a rush (it was Easter weekend, so totally understandable that people came early and stocked up!). Everything is super reasonably priced, all items are $3, and you can get a half dozen for just $12. That's wild for the quality you're getting! They have an amazing variety: danishes, cookies, pound cakes, and more. We ended up with a vanilla glazed cinnamon bun, lemon pound cake, cinnamon danish crunch, almond cloud cookie, karma cookie, and a pecan pie bar to split with one of my close friends, and every single bite was absolutely delicious. I wish I had known there was a line forming right at 7am. I would've rolled out of bed sooner. Thankfully, they told us you can call ahead and reserve, which we might just do next time because I'm already thinking about going back. I highly recommend the danishes & vanilla cinnamon glaze glazed bun and the pecan pie bar! This place is one of those spots you'll want to visit again and again, just get there early or call ahead to snag the goods!

I came here for the first time this past Tuesday morning and enjoyed it! BakerBaker is located in…read morethe 4th Ave Food Park. The bakery is small and is a to-go type of shop. They are open 7am to sell out Tuesday through Saturday. I arrived just before 8am and was surprised that they already were selling out of items! They offer a nice variety of pastries and treats including danishes, croissants, scones, cookies, brownies, and more specialty items. The selection included a mix of both sweet and savory items as wells. The sizes of the pastries were perfect, the price was a little high--but still reasonable. The service was quick, but I thought it could have been slightly more pleasant. The worker just didn't really seem too happy to be there on this particular morning and was very blunt with me. I asked her for her opinion and what items to get and she really didn't provide much help. But other than that, this was a good experience. I ended up getting three items including a Nutella danish, a cheddar-chive scone, and a piece of their pecan bread pudding. All of these items were delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed each one! The pecan bread pudding was great, it wasn't too sweet and the texture was perfect. I just wish it was warm as it was given to me cold. Next time I get this I might need to heat it up in the microwave at home. It didn't include too many pecans, but the cinnamon flavors were great, I would recommend this. The Nutella danish was more reminiscent of a croissant with Nutella on top. This was still good as the dough was quite buttery & flaky--just as it should be. There was the perfect amount of Nutella and I thought it was nicely balanced. The cheddar-chive scone was by far my favorite! The scone was dense, buttery, and had great texture & layers. The cheddar was subtle, but still very much present. I was very impressed with the scone and would highly recommend ordering one. It was easily one of the best scones I've eaten and shouldn't be missed! Overall, I am glad I finally made it out to BakerBaker and can easily say it won't be my last visit. The selection of pastries is awesome and you can easily get something different every time you go. Their menu appears to change daily/weekly too. Each pastry is priced at $4. I will say some pastries vary in size, making this price less justifiable. For instance, one of the other bread pudding varieties was about half the size of the one I ordered and priced the same. All the pastries I tried were delectable and I was satisfied. As I stated above, I thought the service, particularly the women ringing me up, could have been more pleasant. I would say this is a solid bakery for Gainesville, with the scones being the standout. This is certainly no French bakery, but it will definitely satisfy and sweet cravings you might have!

I'm not gonna lie, I've been checking this shops Facebook page daily and I finally got time to stop…read morein on a short work break! This is located right in the downtown area of Lake City. It's fresh, inviting, and just what we need in this little city! The inside is absolutely a vibe. It's cute, it's feminine, it to me - says yummy cupcakes! The display case is nice and large with an assortment that changes daily. To find out the daily cupcake offerings check out their Facebook page! I'm someone who normally goes crazy in a cupcake shop but space is limited in the fridge so I restrained myself to getting only three cupcakes, one for each person in my house. We did two salted caramel cupcakes and a maple praline. My mom and I shared ours and yum! The frosting is SWEET! If you have a sweet tooth this frosting is for you! The maple praline frosting is delicious and packs the most flavor. The cupcake itself is lightly flavored and not overwhelming. The salted caramel, I felt wasn't noticeably salty but that could be my taste buds. The cupcake itself held more flavor than the maple praline did but it wasn't bad or too much. Sometimes cupcake shops will offer but so many get one free but this shop doesn't do that. Instead they do have a reward point service. For every dollar you spend you get a point. Once you get to 100 points it's redeemable for a cupcake or another item up to $5. The cashier was super friendly and patient with me while I decided. Overall I love the shop, and I can't wait to go back for my next cupcake already! The only pain point I would say is the hours aren't not the best with them being open 11-6 or sold out. Maybe it's the big city girl in me but later hours until 7 or 8 would be great for those of us who work during the day and want to go on a week day instead of the weekends. I do understand offering an availability that suits the business and I have seen them open earlier on festival days which is nice! Also parking is street parking only unless I missed a parking lot sign. Don't park in the parking lot across from the shop since it's city hall parking and says they will tow.

I decided to give this shop a try since I have known about it for several months but been unable to…read morestop by while it was open. I purchased two bars: lemon curd and Oreo mud. I was not impressed with the temperature of the bars. While items I buy at some bakeries are cool, they're not cold to the point where the crust of the item is mushy. Additionally, I felt the lemon curd bar had extremely too much lemon flavoring, and I bake and purchase lemon bars regularly! The Oreo mud pie was decent. update: So, I tried their cupcakes, which are MUCH better than the bars. In fact, they are delicious! This may be because I didn't immediately eat them after purchasing them. They were room temperature, and delightful. The icing was delicious, and the cake was moist and yummy. Because I'm transparent in my reviews, I have to comment on the atmosphere of this place. Though the folks in the store gave a nice greeting and seemed friendly, I felt I was encroaching on family time, with various members of the family running around doing things. This is probably normal for the Lake City area, but it's definitely not something I'm used to in a professional bakery.
