The food here is very consistent! I usually get the sausage egg and cheese biscuit sandwich but one they run out of the biscuits they use English muffins which are definitely not my favorite so be aware of that. The biscuits that they make are amazing and as far as every pastry I've tried so far I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them including the raspberry almond croissant and I don't even like raspberries so that says a lot! The service is great in the mornings but the last time I went in the afternoon I wasn't a fan of the attitude some of the workers had so I'm definitely sticking to mornings. (I chose not to tip because of how they greeted me and unfortunately this was the time the food was bad so I was very upset) Over all I love this place. I am all about an honest review. I love the decor and over all vibe of the place. I hope that one day they're able to expand a bit and have comfier seating so that people could stay longer and enjoy the atmosphere as well as continue to purchase more of their products! read more

I have driven by this place a number of times but havnt stopped in until recently! Karma Cream is an all-vegan cafe and bakery near downtown. They offer a variety of baked goods, beverages, and even ice cream that's all plant-based and organic. Part of the reason I've never checked Karma Cream out is due to the fact that they are 100% vegan. I am by no means a vegetarian or vegan and have typically found that vegan foods just don't taste as good. Although my preconceived notions were definitely proven wrong as I had two incredible baked goods from here! The cafe is quant and inviting. They offer plenty of seating and it looks like a great place to study. It is kept clean and organized as well. The service was super friendly and they seem to know locals well. The woman taking my order was able to help me decide on what to try, which I appreciated! Their baked goods appear to rotate, with some staple items and other seasonal/special items. The bakery case has plenty to offer between cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and more! Everything was super fresh as there were even workers bringing out freshly baked items to replenish the bakery case. I got the snickers brownie and a raspberry white chocolate macaron. I'm not going to lie, these items were a little pricey coming in at $10. I guess this should be expected when considering the ingredients going into the products. The brownie was recommended to me and it didn't disappoint. The brownie had the texture of a Betty Crocker mix, which I wasn't expecting for a all-vegan baked good. It wasn't dry and honestly had pretty good flavor. The whipped "snickers" icing on top was really amazing and complimented the brownie nicely. This wasn't an amazing brownie, but it wasn't bad either. The macaron was really good though and it was extremely reminiscent of a non-vegan macaron. I was the most impressed with this item and would recommend. The raspberry flavor was spot on and very fresh--delectable! Overall, I am glad a took a chance and checked out Karma Cream. The items I had didn't taste like they were vegan at all and were good. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere very welcoming. I really appreciated how clean it was too. I need to come back and try their coffee or matcha, along with their ice cream! I came to Karma Cream after a trail walk with a friend and she suggested we stop here, and I'm so glad we did. I've only ever come for the ice cream before, but this time I tried the ceremonial matcha with oat milk and the Turkey Pesto Sandwich, and wow... I was genuinely impressed. I'm not vegan by any means, but I didn't miss the "real" turkey at all, which completely caught me by surprise. The sandwich was exactly what I was craving: creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The Seitan Turkey, vegan provolone, cilantro walnut pesto, tomato, lettuce, and mayo on multigrain bread came together beautifully. The bread was soft but nicely toasted, and every bite was and satisfying. The matcha was smooth, earthy, and delicious one of the best I've had in Gainesville. The monkey bread was INSANE the matcha was okay, I think I'd have enjoyed it more without rose syrup. The chickpea salad was okay, more from a subjective perspective because I'm not vegan and my tastebuds were prepping for a chicken salad sandwich with each bite. Even though it was a busy game-day Saturday, we got out food quickly and were able to sit street-side to enjoy our dessert. People milling about, conversations about school, work and vacations darted past our ears, as we decided how to reward ourselves. Wait, they serve sandwiches too?!? One of my favorite stops whenever I am in Gainesville. I love all of their drinks, but I am obsessed with their matcha lattes. Perfect amount of sweet with high quality matcha. I also love their dessert/pastry options (they change) & their assortment of ice creams. All of their sandwhiches are vegan/organic, and they even have vegan ice cream! I am personally not vegan, and I have loved everything I have tried. My favorite is their grilled cheese! Prior to working in the area I had only been here for ice cream and coffee and it was wonderful. The food is delicious! Sandwiches are made to order, vegan and extremely fresh and they offer a gluten-free bread and a gluten-free wrap if you want to mix things up. I have been a loyal custumer of Karma Cream for almost 7 year, last year I moved to Georgia and yesterday I came to Gainesville to visit and the first place I chose to eat was Karma Cream, I was sitting with my service dog in her carrier with her vest on and when I was almost done with my breakfast some guy from the other side of the counter (I guess is the owner or manager, by the way he should go to training on how to treat customers) shouted at me in front of all the other custumers.. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED IN HERE, UNLESS IT IS A SERVICE DOG, he asked me loudly for anyone to listen was kind of service was provided by my dog (you can't ask a person with an illness to tell what is your condition, that is personal and sensible information) I told him she was and he kicked me out anyways, very rude, unprofessional, zero empathy, I really loved that place but not going there never again, the employees used to be so nice, only weird people working there right now. Stopped by to get a post-dinner sweet treat while visiting some friends. It was my first time trying vegan ice cream and I can say I was truly impressed! The texture was gritty yet smooth, a little strange but the flavors kept leaving me coming back for more. The staff at the counter were very friendly and gave me some samples to try so I could make my decision. These scoops are HEFTY! I definitely could've split a cone as by the time I finished I was way too full but happy. I tried their cookies and cream along with a scoop of a fudge brownie flavor. Both flavors were equally delicious. They had plenty of searing to lounge and chat with some friends. They also have a little water station but the cups are annoyingly small. One of the staff members was nice enough to give me a larger cup with ice so I didn't have to make so many trips. I can definitely see myself coming back when in town to try out their baked goods. When I visited there wasn't anything in the display case that particularly enticed me but I see they typically have a rotating menu. They have amazing choices for coffee, vegan ice cream, and sandwiches (which I have not tried). I love that they try to use organic and fair trade items when they can. Karma Cream was my favorite place to go for a coffee and dessert when I lived in Gainesville. As a visitor this time around I was really disappointed by the quality of their coffee beans. I ordered a pour over and it tasted like drip coffee. Unfortunately I paid $7 for this pour over and the quality was more on par with diner coffee from a drip machine than a high quality coffee drink. I asked the barista if it was a pour over and they said yes. I told them it didn't taste right and they stared at me with a blank face. My friends lavender latte was tasty; creamy and flavorful. However my other friend ordered a regular latte and my partner a cold brew. Both were pretty bad. The beans just aren't good; flavorless and only palatable when masked by a lot of sweet syrup flavor. The desserts looked amazing and usually their ice cream is soo good. Karma cream was special because they served quality vegan ice cream when other places didn't in Gainesville. I didn't get anything other than coffee this time around but I think if you stick to desserts you won't be disappointed. read more

I have been going here since they have opened and have loved it. Their breakfast sandwich was always my favorite for breakfast. I ordered one recently and the size is much smaller than it use to be. It would take two to fill me for breakfast now. Their pastries are good but they generally depend on the easy stuff like chocolate chip cookies and brownies to fill their case. I can make these at home pretty easily and these are such a boring standard. When they kick it up with babka, tarts and croissants, their quality really stands out. Honestly the ice cream would get somewhere between a 3 and a 4 because while some vegan products taste more like non-vegan products, these actually taste a little bit Vegan, and a little bit weird or non-regular-ice-creamy, but then there's plenty of regular non-vegan ice cream which case a little bit weird (especially the Hipster kinds) and this is definitely in the category of hipster College ice cream rather than traditional and really great ice cream. However, the lovely decor is enjoyable and classic coffee shoppy, very cozy and intimate, and it is a great hang out spot, and most importantly the fact that the girls here are ridiculously friendly, offering all kinds of free samples and help and replacements if you don't like your product (which I'd never actually take advantage of but it's nice of them to offer), means that I have no choice but to give them an excellent people at the 5-star rating.
