We ventured to this popular spot based on a recommendation for an after dinner treat. The line was long and customers waited patiently. Lots of flavors to choose from and it all tasted great. The homemade sprinkles were decadent and I would highly recommend you add to any flavor. The key lime flavor was the winner... delicious! The store is a bit small but was well lit & colorful. The young ladies seemed to have slight attitude but we overlooked that based on the number of patrons filing through this gem of a spot

I love the flavors at Mayday and they are constantly changing! The workers are always super nice and let you try the flavors. I am lactose intolerant but often still have the regular dairy ice creams because they taste better. Mayday's dairy free ice cream is literally the best I've had and tastes just like the real thing! It was also me and my friend's birthday and they were so nice to give us a free birthday ice cream! You can also ask for sprinkles without extra charge which is definitely a plus. The place has limited seating but it's right in downtown so you can walk around.

This artisan ice cream shop located in Gainesville offers small batch ice cream crafted with high-quality ingredients. It is a cute little place with only a couple tables inside. We ordered the Flight $9.65 with six mini scoops. We were able to choose our flavors and it was so delicious. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

So my friend and I decided to stop in after going to the Candlelight concert at the Hippodrome last night. Although they close at 10pm, thankfully they stayed open past closing to accomodate all of the concertgoers. I saw on social media that they were offering seasonal winter flavors and I really had my eye on the North peppermint as I'm a mint chocolate kinda girly. I got a scoop in a waffle cone which came out to $7.76 after taxes. Yes, it's a little pricey for it however, everything is homemade and they had such a great variety of flavors that can be suitable for all taste buds. The employees were super nice and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed speaking with them last night. The North peppermint was so creamy and had the perfect amount of mint flavoring. It was a great flavor that I think even the most opposed mint ice cream haters would like it. It also nice that you can sample before you buy. My friend sampled the honey sesame miso which she thought was pretty good but ended up getting the seasonal flavor, Yule log. Mayday Ice Cream is the perfect place to end the night or just grab a scoop and walk around downtown.

I've been to Mayday twice now and each time has been amazing! My protip is to bring a friend and share the ice cream flight so that you can try as many flavors as possible. I love that they have unique flavors that rotate out. My favorites so far are banana pudding and sesame miso. The staff is always very friendly and willing to give samples. There might be a bit of a wait, but the line usually moves fast. The inside doesn't have a ton of seating, but I wouldn't consider that a big deal at all. I highly recommend this wonderful gem in the heart of downtown!

Amazing, unique flavours. You can sample everything you want and that's exactly what we did. Top favourites are brown butter chocolate chip cookie, blackberry crisp, and blueberry cinnamon toast crunch. Service was fantastic, our server was very patient and amicable. I love love love the smell of ice cream shops and the smell of this one might be my fav. The aesthetics were also on point. ALSO the price point can't be beat. A flight of six flavours for ~$10 was insane. Will be coming back again and again and again!!!

Andalusia: extra virgin Spanish olive oil infused with rosemary and pyramid crystal salt

Mayday ice cream is now what used to be Hyppo gourmet ice cream pops. Or maybe it's Hyppo serving Mayday inside, or vice versa. Either way, Mayday is hand-crafted ice cream but these aren't your ordinary flavors: strawberry dragon fruit, mango lassi, raja honey, blackberry earl grey. If you can imagine the flavor combination, Mayday probably could put it together. They also have gluten-free options as well, making them appealing to all. I tried one of the seasonal spring flavors, Andalusia, which was extra virgin Spanish olive oil infused with rosemary and pyramid crystal salt. Do I know what pyramid crystal salt is? No. Did it stop the flavor from being delicious? Also no. The olive oil and rosemary flavors were subtle, enough to taste but not be overpowering. I got it on a waffle cone to go. Now the downside: that one scoop on a waffle cone cost $9.17 with tax and tip. So while they may have extravagant flavors, Mayday has exorbitant prices. Ultimately they are good for a rare treat but this isn't ice cream I could afford to buy every day.

We came in here after a disappointing dinner experience. Alyssa made our whole night better! She recommended flavors based off our preferences and gave us lots of samples. I got the strawberry matcha ice cream. It was great, not too sweet not too earthy. We'll definitely be back.

The ice cream here was delicious and they have really fun flavors. You can add homemade sprinkles and a waffle cone crisp for free and they both really add to the experience. It is a bit pricey, but not more than most other ice cream shops of its kind. The ambiance is really cute, but there is no seating outside so keep that in mind! The service was great and they were very patient with us sampling flavors.

This new ice cream spot offers super friendly and helpful customer service and a great variety of flavors! The manager was so nice and provided several samples when I couldn't decide what to pick. I settled on a scoop of the caramel apple pie, which was a perfect seasonal flavor with chunks of apple and pie crust, and grabbed a pint of the ice box lemon to go. I was also so happy to see that there's a flight option on the menu where you can get 6 mini scoops. Will definitely be trying that next time!

My friend and I came to Mayday Ice Cream on a Friday evening around 7pm. The line was to the door and it was a little busy. But it moved fast considering there was only one person working that night. Mayday serves both ice cream and popsicles. We came for the ice cream though! They have so many unique flavors to choose from, it is hard to pick. They are really unique and use the highest quality ingredients. You can really taste the difference in the ice cream too. I loved the interior and the color scheme. A really fun, upbeat little ice cream parlor. It is kept pretty clean too. There are a few seating options, but not many considering the shop is small. They offer both homemade waffle cones and cups. Each cup is topped with a small piece of their waffle cone. The scoops are the perfect size as well, not too much, but not too little either. My friend and I couldn't decide what flavors to get. So, we ended up ordering the flight which includes 6 mini scoops. This was the move! The scoops were the perfect size and we got to try a little bit of everything. For our six flavors, we opted for the Winterberry, S'mores, Midnight Chocolate, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie, The Aviator, and Mint Monster. The winterberry is a seasonal flavor made with Berrys and white chocolate chips. This flavor was good, but not great. The fruit was really fresh, but the texture just wasn't it. The S'mores includes vanilla ice cream with graham crackers, chocolate chunks, marshmallows, and a homemade chocolate swirl. We enjoyed this flavor, it had a nice balance to it. The Midnight Chocolate is definitely for chocolate lovers. It is rich chocolate ice cream with brownie bits, and cocoa nibs. The chocolate flavor is really deep and good. The Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Is brown butter ice cream filled with crisp chocolate chip cookies. This flavor wasn't as good as I was expecting and slightly underwhelming. The S'mores and this flavor were similar for some reason. The Aviator was by far our favorite! It had chocolate and hazelnut Nutella ice cream blended with chunks of Biscoff cookies and chopped hazelnuts. The biscoff flavor does overpower the subtle Nutella flavor, but this one is still really good! Lastly, the Mint Monster. It is sweet ice cream made with fresh mint, Andes chocolate mints, chocolate chips, and crumbled grasshopper cookies. This had a really fresh, not artificial mint flavor to it. Overall, Mayday is a great establishment serving up a plethora of unique and bold ice cream flavors. They aren't your traditional ice cream parlor! The flight is great for sharing and sampling a variety of scoops. Their ice cream is made with top quality ingredients and it is evident in the flavor and texture of the ice cream. The staff is really nice and the service was as quick as possible, considering how busy it was. I will definitely return when I'm downtown and look forward to trying more of their flavors!

I've only ever come for the ice cream before, but this time I tried the ceremonial matcha with oat milk and the Turkey Pesto Sandwich, and wow... I was genuinely impressed. I'm not vegan by any means, but I didn't miss the "real" turkey at all, which completely caught me by surprise. The sandwich was exactly what I was craving: creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The Seitan Turkey, vegan provolone, cilantro walnut pesto, tomato, lettuce, and mayo on multigrain bread came together beautifully. The bread was soft but nicely toasted, and every bite was and satisfying. The matcha was smooth, earthy, and delicious one of the best I've had in Gainesville. Even though the place was packed, the staff was quick, kind, and on top of everything. Overall, such a great experience. I'll definitely be coming back for more than just ice cream from now on.

The chickpea salad was okay, more from a subjective perspective because I'm not vegan and my tastebuds were prepping for a chicken salad sandwich with each bite. Granted, I was trying something new with the matcha and the sandwich, so nothing inherently wrong on their end, just not a fan. Notwithstanding, all of the ingredients tasted fresh, which was a bonus. The monkey bread is really why the rating is on the higher side with consideration to the other 2/3 of my meal not being my favorite. My boyfriend would have gotten 2 or 3 more monkey breads if we had known it was so good from the get go

Before I say yes to boba tea, though, I ask the waitress for their dessert menu and they sent me to BC Boba Tea & Ice Cream. Apparently Swamp Boil doesn't serve dessert. Anyway, this cute little tea shop also sells some snacks and ice cream. Given my friend wanting some boba tea, the desire was contagious and I wanted one, too. I also figured it made more sense for the road as I had many hours until I would reach South Florida. He ordered an oolong milk tea with boba while I ordered a strawberry green tea with boba. Both were refreshing, but I think I'm happy I stuck with the strawberry green tea. Milk and long car rides aren't good companions and that's with me not being lactose intolerant. Anyhow, the service was fine, a bit cold perhaps, but it is what it is. They have a lovely mural on site and I'm generally curious if this and Swamp Boil are owned by the same person.
