Wildberry flavor icecream w white chocolate chips

Big fan of unique flavors and textures and the Hyppo started selling icecream more recently! Tried the banana pudding and wild berry and both were delish but a bit dry and crumbly. The waffle cone I got was also stale so I wouldn't get that again. There's seating inside and service is good!

Gainesville, being a large university town, has everything you could ever think of in terms of places to shop, eat, and go out. This apparently includes The Hyppo, a gourmet ice pop shop in the downtown area. I stumbled upon this place after eating with some friends. There are easily over a dozen unique, different types of frozen ice pops but I chose the black raspberry goat cheese. While a single pop was about $5, when else can you get a combination like this? The flavor was outstanding! The black raspberry gave a tart but sweet flavor and the goat cheese was subtle but made this frozen pop so creamy. This is a hidden Gainesville gem that everyone should check out at least once.

Dark Chocolate and Avocado Pop!

I have always heard about this place, passed it many times downtown but never did I go in and buy a popsicle until now! I think because the price of the popsicle always was off putting but nevertheless I tried it! 5.82 for a dark chocolate and avocado popsicle that was delicious! They had so many flavors that I wanted to try but 1 was plenty(especially for the price) The popsicle was a perfect sweet treat after brunch! The Riesling Pear sounded yummy as well as the blueberry cheesecake which is what my friend got! Another place that I plan to try more of especially since the weather is getting warmer.

Found this place by accident on our adventure today. We were on the hunt for a frozen yogurt place that apparently is no longer in this area but saw The Hyppo had "gourmet ice pops" and decided to check it out. So glad we did! The young lady behind the counter was super helpful and gave us good insight on all the different flavors. It's a small shop kind of tucked away on a side street downtown but you definitely need to seek it out for a cold treat, totally worth it! I had the granny's apple pie pop and my husband had the pineapple orange bar; both full of flavor and so delicious. Mine was like a perfectly flavored apple pie and you could taste fresh pineapple in my husbands pineapple orange pop. Next time we are down here in Gainesville we will be making it a point to stop in and try some other flavors.

I love Mexican popsicles because that country has mastered rich and complex flavors. Well, The Hyppo impressed me with its choices, too. I stood in line, ordered a popsicle, then sat and ate the popsicle. I did this two more times in succession on a busy Friday evening. I'd probably still be there if I didn't have to leave Gainesville. The many, many choices are a fun exploration. What's better than that?

We are experiencing a cold front and it's easily 50-60 degree weather but this gourmet ice pop store, of all businesses, caught our attention with its array of flavors available. We decided to "pop" in a visit and escape the cold for a little bit and started looking at all the options. Just to look. We saw so many flavors, from ranges of exotic fruits like jackfruit/dragonfruit/guanabana to simpler ones like coconut/Granny Smith apples and flavors I never expect on a popsicle like chocolate espresso/cilantro&pineapple/eggnog/ & blackberry goat cheese?? Come on now, there is something for anyone. Even for me and my particular friend. If you are lactose intolerant, avoid the popsicles checked with the cow icon, or if you like to live a little dangerously, there are even spicy flavors available, and you will see the ones checked accordingly. My company and I did not expect to eat a freaking popsicle while we are freezing our butts off but we were just too tempted and opted to try some. I picked a Bourbon Apple Pie because how in the world can that go wrong. You can smell the bourbon but you don't even get that icky liquor burn in the taste. Just sweet yummy green apple pie with hint of caramel to it. It actually has bits of apples in it as we ate it. Also, the texture of this one is juuust right. The one my friend got and switched with me since she couldn't get past the texture is a Blackberry Jasmine Tea combo. There are blackberry seeds compacted with each bite. And the tea essence was not hiding among the flavor of berries. Nice jasmine taste! I am a glutton for anything infused with tea and natural ingredients so I did not mind the switch AT ALL. SO GOOD. I want more but this was a quick day trip for me and I am happy this stop was a part of it. They originate in St. Augustine and ship their popsicles to this location in Gainesville. YES small business chains! We like to see the little guy succeed:)

I've passed by the hyppo a bunch of times and never really paid much mind. When I want dessert, I think of ice cream or froyo or cupcakes. But these ice pops are incredible and I can't wait to try more of their flavors!!! I brought in my little sister who's a fan of fruity treats. She ordered the strawberry lemonade and the peach Arnold Palmer. Both flavors were spot on. I like more of their creamier, dairy based pops. I tried their honey cinnamon cheesecake which was incredible! It kind of tastes like Indian kulfi but better!

It's nearly impossible to pick just one. There are so many delicious flavors to choose from. To make things harder, you also have the option of dipping your ice pop in chocolate for only a dollar extra. I was having a hard time deciding between honeydew basil, banana vanilla, bourbon peach, Mexican hot chocolate, and blueberry cinnamon. After about 15 minutes of complaining about how unfair it is that I had to choose just one, I decided on the Honeydew Basil. The flavor combination was really good. The Honeydew was sweet, but the basil provided a refreshing break from the sugary monotony. These are definitely not the ice pops you used to get from the corner store when you were a kid. These are frozen treats on a whole new, Grown Up level. They give you a "rewards card" of sorts, so when you buy 7, you get the 8th free. My best friend and I came here almost everyday. I was only in town for 4 days, but I got that 8th one the day before I left. They're THAT good.

If I lived in Gainesville, I'm pretty sure I'd be broke for this place! I came with my whole family and the gentleman at the counter was very friendly. He gave all of us suggestions and took the time to answer all of our questions. They have a HUGE selection of homemade popsicles to choose from--you can even get it dipped in chocolate! I ended up going with the Horchata pop. It was just the right amount of creamy and cinnamony. Very refreshing! Everyone enjoyed their popsicles and had a great time hanging out in the cute shop. I can't wait to return!! (PS put a shop in Miami please!)

On the left is my fiancé and she got BlackBerry Limeade and my son got straight up strawberry!

Been here twice now. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because it's a extremely small place. Only one table inside to sit at. More of a come and go kinda place. Popsicles are superb though. Completely healthy and all organic. Definitely a place to keep in mind when the heat gets to be too much

Guava hibiscus and avocado coconut

I have been going to Hyppo since I was 17 and I can say with 100% confidence that they never disappoint! Every time I go I try a new flavor because something different always sounds good. I honestly love their options as I love a cold treat like ice cream but I am sensitive to dairy. This time I went with the guava hibiscus and my boyfriend went with the avocado coconut! Mine was fruity and his was creamy. Both were really great! I also love the stamp card they have, I always have it with me! This location is usually empty (at least every time I've gone in it has been). I really like how easy it is to pick out the flavor that sounds the best and how quick and friendly the staff is. Not to mention, this store is in a very convenient location. I LOVE Hyppo!

Have you ever made your own smoothies or popsicles? Well Hyppo is what happens when a professional takes control and pushes out some good quality popsicles. A great variety and interesting take on flavor combinations. I've been in and out since they've taken up two spots in the Gainesville area, and it seems like new flavors will come in once and awhile and that is the innovation at its peak. When restaurants constantly add and change their menu to create diversity, it makes me as a customer want to keep coming in and try these new flavors. Especially when the old flavors held up their own as well. Hyppo provides a little bit something for everyone. The different flavors and combinations seem to satisfy even the weirdest types of flavors some never thought to crave. A spicy strawberry (datil) was the last thing I thought I would like. The price is extremely fair and they also have cards that they will stamp and eventually you will be presented with a free popsicle.

Finally tried this awesome spot located in the 4th Ave Food Park! I had heard so much about this…read moreplace and it was even featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives". Their menu consists of some staple sandwiches, wraps, sausage dogs, and salads, along with daily specials. They also have a meat counter where you can buy a variety of very unique flavored/seasoned meats that are all made in house. The shop isn't super big and there is limited indoor seating. Although the food park offers plenty of coveted outdoor seating options. Service was great and pretty quick. The guy who took my order was helpful in answering my questions too. Everything is made fresh to order with higher quality ingredients. This is very evident in the taste of the sandwiches, they are truly next level! I ended up ordering a Muffuletta sandwich and a walking taco. Both of these were on the daily special menu. The muffuletta was loaded with ham, salami, mortadella, Swiss cheese, provolone, olives, Dijon aioli, lettuce, tomato, and onion on ciabatta. This sandwich was huge! The meat was super flavorful and you could really taste each one of them in each bite. I loved the ciabatta, especially because it wasn't too thick and didn't take away from the sandwich. The cheeses were mild melted perfectly on the sandwich. The fresh tomato's, lettuce, and onion complimented the other components nicely as well. I will say I wish the olives and aioli had been more prominent, as this is what truly makes a muffuletta of muffuletta. So I wouldn't really classify this as a traditional muffuletta sandwich and it reminded me more of an Italian sandwich. The walking taco included Fritos, chilli, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, and house-made ranch. I thought these were decent. This wasn't the most impressive thing, but it was still tasty. I wish there had been more meat in the chilli and the cheese was melted on top of the Fritos. The onions were simply chopped red onions and seemed too strong for the dish. While this was good, it isn't something I'd go out of the way to order. I would probably stick to the sandwiches and such as that is what truly shines here! Overall, I was more than impressed with this place. I love that it is located in the food park too! Ordering is easy and the service is welcoming. They offer a nice variety of deli options and there is something for everyone. You can taste the difference in the food here compared to other places. They use high quality ingredients and put a lot of passion into their work. I also love that they have fun switching up parts of the menu daily with unique options. While my muffuletta reminded me more of an Italian sando, it was still one of the best sandwiches I've had in the area by far. The sandwich was absolutely packed with meat and made the price completely justifiable. The bread was really fresh and not too thick, which I really appreciated. The walking taco was decent, but nothing to ride home about. If you are in the area and want a good sandwich, I HIGHLY recommend stopping by.
