Very average ice cream (pistachio and butter pecan), I feel like you'll find much better at the grocery store. Hot fudge brownie sundae was 8/10 which is a highlight and probs only thing to recommend

I just tried one of their buy one get one half off deals. Got the 'small size' oreo sundae, along with a brownie flavored one. The portion sizes seemed decent, and the flavor was good. With the discount, it came up to just under $10. In terms of price, these would be on the pricier size considering what you get. The quality was decent, but I probably would only return during one of their BOGO half off days or during another special. The ambiance was good, nice and quiet. The spot appeared incredibly clean or spotless. All in all, the 3/5 rating is due to the quality and price. I wasn't amazed by the flavor nor value. My daughter enjoyed her sundae, and could barely finish half of it (not bad considering we got the small).

I've only ever come for the ice cream before, but this time I tried the ceremonial matcha with oat milk and the Turkey Pesto Sandwich, and wow... I was genuinely impressed. I'm not vegan by any means, but I didn't miss the "real" turkey at all, which completely caught me by surprise. The sandwich was exactly what I was craving: creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The Seitan Turkey, vegan provolone, cilantro walnut pesto, tomato, lettuce, and mayo on multigrain bread came together beautifully. The bread was soft but nicely toasted, and every bite was and satisfying. The matcha was smooth, earthy, and delicious one of the best I've had in Gainesville. Even though the place was packed, the staff was quick, kind, and on top of everything. Overall, such a great experience. I'll definitely be coming back for more than just ice cream from now on.

The chickpea salad was okay, more from a subjective perspective because I'm not vegan and my tastebuds were prepping for a chicken salad sandwich with each bite. Granted, I was trying something new with the matcha and the sandwich, so nothing inherently wrong on their end, just not a fan. Notwithstanding, all of the ingredients tasted fresh, which was a bonus. The monkey bread is really why the rating is on the higher side with consideration to the other 2/3 of my meal not being my favorite. My boyfriend would have gotten 2 or 3 more monkey breads if we had known it was so good from the get go

They're truly the best I've ever had, and the wait for them, no matter how long it takes, is always worth it. My friends have tried their arepas as well, and I can say without a doubt this restaurant is incapable of making bad food. The front of house worker/(not sure if he's the owner but maybe owner) is an incredibly kind and sociable man. He always greets me warmly anytime he sees me, and it's always such a pleasure to interact with him. There's plenty of tables to sit, and an easy and approachable order-counter. If you're going (which you should be), I highly recommend the ground beef empanada with their garlic aioli sauce and spicy chili paste. I've never had any of their desserts, but they look amazing too! Love this place. So much. If you're going, please get me an empanada. 10/10, top tier in Gainesville.

They make food from their homeland which is made using family recipes. But I was there to try their ice cream since it used to be an ice cream place. I also wanted to try their crepes. So the obvious choice is an ice cream crepe with banana, strawberry, and a ton of ice cream. It was cooked fresh in front of me (thankfully not one of those cook ahead and reheat places) The crepe was enjoyable but average and a little too crispy. The ice cream was disappointing, average ice cream regional supplier, definitely not home made. I may go back and give the crepes one more try, ice cream nope. Also curious about the rest of the menu.

I settled on some boba tea instead and had oolong but unfortunately they were out of boba balls so I had it without. They added a replacement for the boba balls which was a little off and like a jelly texture . Almost like aloe Vera texture . I still loved their boba tea flavor which I got brown sugar. We also tried 2 mochi. The mochi had a great flavor but the texture was too hard for me. We had the strawberry and coconut mochi but they had other amazing flavors like habanero coffee, expresó , lychee , passion fruit etc. I appreciate that they had so many unique flavors you don't see often. I am not sure if the macaroons are fresh or who makes them but they also had a variety of interesting flavors . Would definitely come back to try other items and flavors that they offer.

Before I say yes to boba tea, though, I ask the waitress for their dessert menu and they sent me to BC Boba Tea & Ice Cream. Apparently Swamp Boil doesn't serve dessert. Anyway, this cute little tea shop also sells some snacks and ice cream. Given my friend wanting some boba tea, the desire was contagious and I wanted one, too. I also figured it made more sense for the road as I had many hours until I would reach South Florida. He ordered an oolong milk tea with boba while I ordered a strawberry green tea with boba. Both were refreshing, but I think I'm happy I stuck with the strawberry green tea. Milk and long car rides aren't good companions and that's with me not being lactose intolerant. Anyhow, the service was fine, a bit cold perhaps, but it is what it is. They have a lovely mural on site and I'm generally curious if this and Swamp Boil are owned by the same person. At any rate, I would go back if in the area.

We had passed this place on the way to the lake and it seemed interesting, so I kept it on my short list of places to check out for lunch on the way back. It turns out it was the perfect fit after what ultimately proved to be a 14-mile trek! The place is located just off the main road and has a quaint feel to it with two dining rooms and a counter. Much like my other recent review, SweetBerries serves your standard lunch fare and also specializes in custard. As such, it served as perfect-pick-me-up on a day where the heat index was at 105F! You order what you'd like at the counter and a server will bring your food when it's ready. The establishment has fountains available for drinks. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout the experience. We got the SweetBerries Sunset custard with fresh fruit to share between the two of us, and wound up being the perfect frozen treat to get us back to the truck. Unlike her, I was also looking for an actual meal, so i chose to order the Chicken Salad on a croissant with mac salad. While the mac salad was simply ok, but flavor of the buttery croissant elevated quality the light and refreshing meal. If you find yourself in Gainesville with time for lunch or sweet treat, give this place a shot!

The bread was grilled perfectly, buttery, golden, and exactly the kind of crisp I love. The flavors were unreal. The crispy bacon added that salty, smoky crunch that hits immediately, the muenster cheese brought this smooth, melty richness, and the sweet onion and carrots added the perfect fresh bite. But the real surprise was the honey mustard. I'm a honey mustard lover, but I was honestly skeptical about how much they'd use or whether it would overpower everything. Instead, it was beautifully balanced, but just the right amount of sweetness to bounce off the savory bacon, the creamy chicken salad, and the buttery toast. Every flavor complemented the next, and it all came together in a way that genuinely surprised me. It ended up being one of the most amazing sandwiches I've ever had. I was mesmerized from the first bite to the last. SweetBerries really nailed this one.

This is a pick up only window with tables outside for customers to enjoy their treats but there is no indoor seating. The walk up counter had two windows and both were staffed with friendly cashiers. The line moved quickly but with enough time for us to figure out the ordering system and to sort through the many options available from the menu board posted on the sidewalk. There are at least 5 sizes (that I can remember) to choose from and thankfully I was sharing a medium otherwise it would have been too much for one person and I only did two steps out of the 3. I chose to create my own and selected the coconut Italian ice with the Chocolate Gelati in a medium cup.
