Our family was visiting Gainesville for the weekend, and stopped by here for dessert for the first time. We were all disappointed with everything. This was our first time having rolled ice cream, and it unfortunately didn't meet our expectations. It had ok flavor but needed more ice. It was lukewarm. Tapioca boba was as expected. For ice cream I had corrupt cookie. I was so excited to try rolled ice cream. Completely disappointed. We stopped in for some tea. I ordered the Thai tea and it was not what I have had from many other places. One of the kids had some ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and she really like it made on the freeze tables. One of the kids had a fruit tea with popping Boba which she was not a fan of like she has enjoyed in many other places. This is a great place for the ice cream, but we would not recommend some of the specialty teas. The staff is super friendly and tried to help us select some items, but just not what we have been used to in other specialty tea shops. read more

I wish I had looked at the reviews of this place before coming in. Save yourself and don't go here please. We paid $8.23 for a bland rolled ice cream. We got cookie cluster I think it was and there was no taste of chocolate or cookie. The texture was also off it tasted like freezer burned ice cream. I'm a sucker for any Thai deserts or Thai tea flavored stuff and this place didn't disappoint. Came here on a weekday and it wasn't too busy. All proper covid precautions were followed and the kind staff can help you build your cup if you're unsure. They have a wide array of flavors and toppings, unmatched to some places i've seen nearby. I got the Bangkok summer with boba, mochi, and oreo crumbs and absolutely loved it. The thai tea flavor was great and delicious like most others i've tried. The toppings were all as you expect. I really liked this place before but my latest visit wasn't very great :/ they have more flavors so I was excited to try them rolled.... but they were just scooped and handed over. There was no signs saying they didn't roll those flavors so I'm not sure if it was just because the server was trying to rush orders or what. He also took and completed orders of people who came after us while we were still waiting. they should really have multiple people working but it seemed it was just one guy. Located in a shopping center along a main intersection (34th & Archer), it is rather convenient to stop by. There is a sufficient number of rolled ice cream flavors, which includes three toppings, and unlimited sauces, such as condensed milk, caramel, etc., all for $5.55. I got the Bangkok Summer, which is a Thai tea with lychee, topped mochi, cheesecake bites, and popping boba, with a condensed milk drizzle. To make it even more aesthetic, they add a cute koala cookie on top. At other rolled ice cream places, the ice cream lacks flavor and is icy, but Zero Degrees does a great job with keeping it creamy and flavorful. Moreover, they are very generous with their toppings, and their unlimited sauce drizzles make it even more worth. They provide some board and card games for customers that lounge around, and the store is relatively clean. The staff takes your order and rolls your ice cream, but doesn't really bother you otherwise. There's also cute mural to take pictures in front of. This is right next to my gym (a test of true self control lol). It's prices are similar to 8 Degrees Fahrenheit. Both places give you 3 free toppings, but this place gives you unlimited sauces for your ice cream. The ice cream is pretty typical; pretty but a tad expensive and not a lot of room for toppings. Keep in mind that you are probably paying for an Instagram photo, rather than tasty ice cream. The parking for this location is tight because a lot of spaces are taken up by gym patrons. However the parking lot is huge so you will find a space, just not close to it. This place also has macarons and crepe cakes. These offerings make this location different from 8F and Mr. Cool. Either way there needs to be a policy where the workers wear hairnets or keep their hair tightly secured up so they don't contaminate the food! I got the s'mores ice cream, and I expected the marshmallows to be toasted a big but they were just cold and hard. The graham crackers were also old and didn't taste fresh. The ice cream was honestly just bland, everything about it was kind of boring. The only "cool" part was getting to watch them roll the ice cream. Ice cream is good. That's a default. Thus this place was ok but if I want to get critical here's my take. It kind of takes a bit too long to make an ice cream. I was already 3/4 finished w my ice cream when my son barely got his (3rd to order). The ice cream rolls are sooo hard it feels like your going to break the plastic spoon. Ok no big deal I guess but I like my ice cream a tad softer than rock hard. I got the Chocolate Dark Knight (without KitKats) and I was under the impression I was going to taste chocolate sauce and brownie bits but when concocting the ice cream on the frozen slab they dice and mash and pulverize those items combining it into the ice cream so there really are no hunks or resemblance of chocolate sauce when it is served to you. I didn't know that or I would of asked for those items to be put on top of the ice cream rolls. They do give you the option of putting toppings on the rolls but then again, I didn't know I wouldn't be able to discern those items before hand. My other kids ice cream was coffee based (WakeMeUp)& really truely lacked sugar I mean I was thinking the ice cream was reduced sugar type but she liked it after she got used to it and it really was coffee flavored. My son liked his Cookie Minster just fine & rated it a 10/10 so, that's the ice cream default aspect. It's ice cream so it's good but here maybe not as good as it could be. read more

I hear there was another Thailand ice cream place and was reluctant to try it at first. However, I happened to be in the area and wanted a snack so I ended up here. The ice cream was so good and I think slightly better than 8 degrees. I do want to go back to see if things will be made consistently because at 8 degrees certain items such as toasted marshmallows are not always consistently made. Rolled ice cream is the hibachi of the frozen treat world. You order. There is a whole show. Then you eat peacefully with an absurd amount of food in front of you. The order: There is a board when you first walk in with ice cream flavors. These aren't your normal ice cream flavors like chocolate or vanilla. They have those but they are mixed with other flavors like berries, candy, Nutella and the like. Then you get to pick three toppings and unlimited syrup. The show: Once you order, an ice creamologist (my term) gets a liquid (non) ice cream and then other flavor items as described in the flavor section of the board. The cream is poured onto an anti-griddle along with the mix-ins. Then he or she chop, chop, chops the mix-ins. Then the ice creamologist spreads the "flavor" across the anti griddle in lines. It is kind of like watching a zen garden ranker but with delicious dessert. Then he or she goes down the line and rolls small sections. The rolls are neatly placed in a cup. Toppings and syrup added and served. The taste: The reality is you eat this like any other ice cream in a cup. There is just lots of it. And lots of toppings. This is good because it is pretty pricy. My dad and I were split when it comes to our review (he gave it an 8.5 out of 10 and I gave it a 6 out of 10), and that is because the result depends on your order. My dad got the Berry, Berry. It was much better than my Dark Knight because it was more unique than what mine tasted like - every day chocolate ice cream despite the mix-ins. We both got at least one fruit topping, and they were delicious and fresh. I was nervous that the ice cream would be icy, but this was not the case at all. Nice and creamy. I think the inside of the store is very welcoming. There are games and some fun murals perfect for that Instagram-worthy shot. Overall: I would go again, but I would get my dad's order. I have to start with the fact that I am a bit of a ice cream snob. I really like ultra premium ice cream and I should have lowered my expectations for this place. It is a really neat store with interesting things on the wall. Its fun watching them make it, especially some of them who are more enthusiastic then others. I really appreciate the face mask for droplet precaution as they are breathing directly over the ice cream. The presentation of the ice cream is fun and they always put a cute little bear cookie on top. I've been to other rolled ice cream joints that split the ice cream up into two cups when you are sharing and dress both cups. Here they put it all in once cup and give you an empty one. NBD, just saying it could be better. The ice cream itself is pretty low quality. I'm not sure if it has to be to roll it but it has a very low concentration of milkfat. I have never tried rolled ice cream before, but apparently it is the new fad for ice cream these days! Zero Degrees has recently opened and is in a great location that is close to where I live. The interior is very modern and spacious. There are a few tables off to the side, along with a shelf filled with board games. The menu is written on chalk boards, which I thought was super cute! You order by picking a base flavor, which comes in many different mixtures like s'mores, fruity mixes and many different options to satisfy various cravings. You then choose 3 extra toppings and any amount of sauces that you would like spread out on top of your whole creation! Since this location is quite new, I will cut them a little slack because I'm sure they are still adjusting and their employees are still learning. I had ordered a fruity type of base that was mixed with blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. I then asked for mangoes, white chocolate chips and yogurt bites. I'm not sure if the person who was taking my order did not hear me, but I got different toppings than what I asked for!! Other than that slight mistake, I loved watching my rolled ice cream being made. They have glass window panes so that you can see your ice cream being spread out/rolled and the toppings added. Lastly, it was very tasty and a great dessert to end my night. I must admit, I was WOWED with the presentation!! Next, when i got up to order I asked for plain chocolate rolled ice cream and the lady behind the counter tried to charge me $8 for the 's'mores' flavored ice cream even tho i wasn't getting any of the toppings. i decided to not get anything after that even though i made the 20 minute drive across town JUST for it. If all of this wasn't bad enough, one of workers kids was running ramped throughout the store not only disturbing me and my group, but other customers as well. The child kept grabbing my hand and crawling between my legs and even touching my friends butt. I even witnessed the kid hitting other customers in there, meanwhile the worker did anything about it.
