When I saw Tea Moment on Yelp, I had a to do a double-take. What?!?! This drink stall looks just like a stall you would see in Taipei City. Except this teahouse is in the coolest hidden food court (food alley) in Gainesville. They serve up amazingly authentic Taiwanese style bubble teas, as well as a few snacks that I have not seen in Florida before: 1. Hai Tai Fun Tuan- This is a savory burrito-sized roll consisting of black sticky rice wrapped in seaweed. The inside has savory fillings of your choice, which as; tea egg, lettuce, mayo, crab meat, braised beef, crispy doughnut, and more. It is called on their menu "Unique Rice Roll." What this roll reveals to me is that they have traditional tea eggs. I will ask for a special favor to buy one in the future, because I love tea eggs (lou dan). 2. Shao Xian Cao- This is a cold, sweet dessert soup. The base is black sweet milk tea containing a mix of; azuki bean, grass jelly, black tapioca, taro tapioca, pumpkin tapioca, and peanut. I would actually prefer for this dish to be served in a large cup instead of a bowl, but it is traditionally served in a bowl.

WHAT! My fave Boba shop in Gainesville, and that's actually a tough call because there are 3 or 4 really good ones such as Pokebowl Station (right next door) and J-Petal and TeaStori among others! I like this one even more because my new friends run this place! The milk tea milk cap is yummy, the boba is good, and the store is decorated thoroughly adorably with cat pix. I wish hard for it to be a huge success, I wish that it does so well, but needs your help, because it's tucked away in a little college mall off the main street and not as busy as some of the other boba shops... despite tasting better, and having better service, than all of them. As I said, it's kind of hidden away in a little shopping mall off the main strip, and even though the mall gets a decent amount of traffic, this Poke shop seems to get kind of left behind. But it's actually some of the best tea and the most authentic fresh-brewed tea in the town, and for this reason you absolutely need to come and try it - and not to mention the fact that these are some of the friendliest people running any boba shop anywhere, let alone in Florida which is not always a state with friendly Bobapeople, as I've found out. Easily one of the top 10 Boba shops in Florida, and you must try it when you are in Gainesville, and it's worth boba lovers swinging by Gainesville because 3 or 4 of the best 10 boba shops in the state are probably located here. And if the actual lifting in the gym doesn't make you feel good... your Gainswill. Anyway, the Tea Moment for this review has passed, but I'm glad I was able to mark the Tea Moment by writing it, and I hope it helps to give this shop some Tea Momentum.

Cute little counter inside this quiet food hall. Tons of choices, and all of our drinks were amazing! I discovered the strawberry matcha tea on ice with boba!! OMG!

Tucked away at the end of a food court hallway is this place that everyone needs to try! A+++ in taste, texture, and service of preparing of this drink! I got the Blue Sky Milk Tea with black tapioca boba. This boba is one of the best in town and I typically don't even get black boba because of how many times I was disappointed in other boba shops. This place exceeded my expectations. First time trying and I'll definitely stop by again. My partner, Guy, really liked it too and he's a very pick boba drinker. They made my drink in less than 5 minutes, super speedy! I highly recommend ! (The drink was so good that I couldn't stop drinking until half of it was gone. Finally, I took a break and snapped a shot of this drink ) It's so good that my fiance and I were fighting for the last sips haha!

We continued our search for good bubble tea in the Gainesville area. We got a large jasmine milk tea, less ice, 30% sugar, taro milk tea with 30% sugar, less ice, and a beef roll. The milk tea was fine, I still didn't get much tea flavor. Maybe I need to get the black tea to taste more tea. Hubby liked the taro milk tea, he felt like he could really taste the taro flavor in it. I thought it was rather subtle. Beef roll was okay, probably wouldn't order it again. Seems like there is more rice than filling in it, didn't like the crunchy fried dough in it.

I wasn't expecting to get a boba milk tea after my delicious banh mi at a nearby Vietnamese joint, but I ended up getting a $3.50 milk tea that comes with boba already. It's a great after-meal drink because it wasn't that sweet and they give you a lot of boba as well. The boba also has flavor and it perfectly fits with the milk tea. Overall score: Drink taste - 5/5 Boba amount - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Price - 5/5 Atmosphere - 5/5 Edit: I also got a large taro slush with boba and honestly it's one of the few boba places in Gainesville that truly knows how to make taro flavored tea/slush.

I loved their drinks. I ordered their Boba Milk tea with cap and passion fruit green tea with aloe in it. Milk tea with cap was a little on the sweeter side but u can also adjust your sweetness to ur liking. Passion fruit green tea was very refreshing. It had a very earthy and cooling effect while drinking it which is perfect for this piping hot summer. Update: I ordered a Coffee boba with Milk cap and a beet roll. The best decision I have ever made. As a coffee lover myself, this drink as just right for me. The creamy and salty layer on the top blends so well with the coffee on the bottom. For the beed roll, I was kinda disappointed when I saw the small beef roll. However, when I took the first bite mannn..I was in Cloud 9. Its was so filling. There was a party in my mouth. The beef roll had egg, lettuce, something crunchy [no idea what this was], rice, sauce etc. Love love their menu. The place is situated inside a building near the parking sign and it is pretty hard to find if u are a new customer.

My favorite boba place in Gainesville. The tapioca pearls are always the same consistency every time I have ordered: chewy and sweet. I have found that other boba places around Gainesville have inconsistent pearl texture. My go-to drink is a peach green tea, extra sweet with boba. Many of the other drinks I've tried are fantastic as well. I think this may be the only place in Gainesville that sells rice rolls (I haven't found any other places that do). The krab rice roll is very tasty and savory. Parking is the only reason why I don't visit this place more frequently. Most of the parking spots require a decal Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. There are a couple of metered parking, but are often taken up when I visit. There is also a parking garage next door to the building but the fee is not worth it in my opinion. You are better off finding parking during the weekend morning/afternoon.

I really enjoy getting boba here. I've been here a few times and i've had a pleasant experience every time. I like that it's near campus(perfect location) and I could just get boba after class. I've tried a different drink each time and they all taste so good and fresh!

The best bubble tea shop in Florida by far! Swinging down to grab some drinks during my trip to the Sunshine State and I happened to stumble on this gem along the way. Convenient, affordable, and most importantly DELICIOUS + FLAVORFUL. A real trip for the holiday for sure!!

    Kat W.

I love stopping by Tea Moment on my way back from lunch, it's quick, convenient, and very tasty! My coworkers and I often pop by The Spot or Vietnamese Grille for lunch and every once in a while we will stop into Tea Moment for dessert. The menu is awesome because there's so much more than bubble tea, but that's what I usually get. There are quite a few flavors and add-ins to choose from, and the pricing is very fair for the size of the drink you get. The only downside is that there really isn't much seating available, so it's not the best place to sit and chat with a friend, but if you're on the run this is the spot! I highly recommend the Oreo milk tea- a perfect sweet treat!

The prices are pretty reasonable and he informed his favorite boba was a seasonal one, the hami melon boba tea which sounded good and will try soon! This boba tea was surprisingly not super sweet at all. It was very creamy and delicious. It had a subtle hint of brown sugar and the boba tasted like it soaked up the brown sugar flavoring. I highly recommend this drink. However, be mindful of trying to get to this place if you're a local as it's that time of the year (aka football season). So the fact that I'm giving this place 5 stars means this place is stellar. It's not a place I would even expect to exist in a small place like Gainseville, let alone be THIS GOOD. BUT this place is THAT GOOD. The cakes were all LA tier, maybe even Taiwan/China tier, which is Saying SOMETHING!!! I travel a lot and my experience with asian stores in small towns has always been subpar. It might look authentic, etc but then the taste will disappoint and I'm reminded why the 626 in LA is known as an Asian food haven. But this store tasted straight out of the 626. I walked in looking for Asian desserts because I can only go so long existing on wypipo food tbh. I noticed there's a nice new Chinese market next door and the staff inside was all Chinese, speaking Mandarin - very encouraging. I looked at the cakes. They looked legit! Real Asian cake store level. But I still told myself to lower my expectations with the taste so I wouldn't be disappointed later. I bought four cakes and two drinks. Would have bought food too but their kitchen was closed (I came 30 mins before closing). Tbh, the drinks are just fine. I've had better, these were a tiny bit watered down - but still decent. The guava and lychee flavors we got were very prevalent and there was a fresh lime slice in mine. But the cakes!!! The cakes are 5 star. The cakes are LA worthy. TAIPEI worthy. What is this store doing in Gainseville?? I sure hope they survive. I have to come back to Gainseville often for medical events, so - I will be coming to this store EACH TIME. Please, please stay open for me. ;) The cakes are perfectly light, soft, not too sweet. (If you know Asian desserts you'll know what I'm talking about). The mochi layers inside were perfectly done, sweet, smooth, very QQ. Everything from the injeolmi flavor to taro paste to mango gelatin layers - all the flavors were there in just the right way. The textures - perfect. Lady M can't compete with the crepe cakes. The basque was cooked to PERFECTION. The mochi round cakes - like eating Taro clouds. This is not an amateur bakery, folks. This bakery know what they're doing. You have a gem here, Gainseville. I literally logged into Yelp to leave this review for them. Please do yourself a favor and try their cakes - Try them ALL. Experience the beauty of Asian desserts. I feel like every single thing here will be done perfectly. I know I'm gonna keep coming back to try more!

Both were refreshing, but I think I'm happy I stuck with the strawberry green tea. Milk and long car rides aren't good companions and that's with me not being lactose intolerant. I ended up ordering creating my own poke bowl with a zucchini noodle base instead of rice. They have a great selection of different proteins to choose from including scallops, ahi tuna, salmon poke, shrimp, etc. I opted for the ahi tuna and salmon poke. The topping selection doesn't disappoint either. I decided on seaweed salad, avocado, kani salad, edamame, scallions, and bean sprouts. For my dressing/sauce, I went with the citrus ponzu. Which was a soy based sauce, a little lighter than the mayo based ones. This bowl was heavenly. The fish and seaweed was really fresh, as well as the other ingredients. The zucchini noodles were nice and had a good consistency. This bowl was just so refreshing and healthy. It had a nice balance between the proteins and various vegetables. But you can't eat the wallpaper. I'm looking at this chicken and I'm confused. I thought we were doing something sophisticated, but they brought out those boneless nuggets you find in the back of the freezer at 2:00 AM. Then they hit it with a drizzle of ketchup like it's a consolation prize. This isn't Korean Fried Chicken; it's a school lunch with a passport. It's dishonest. Then you got the pork belly. I don't know if this pig was an athlete or if it's just been sitting back there since the grand opening, but it's got the texture of a pink eraser. I'm chewing and chewing, just waiting for a flavor that never shows up. My jaw is doing a full-body workout. I didn't come here for a survival mission, I came here for a snack. And please, watch yourself when you pull up. There is a pothole in the lot that looks like a portal to another dimension. An asteroid literally made a home in front of the building. If you hit that thing, your car is staying there forever. The service is elite and the chairs are nice, but the kitchen is confused. It's style over substance. Take a picture for the 'gram, say hi to the nice server, and then go get a burger somewhere else. Don't do this to your suspension or your stomach.

I've never tried their food but it's my go-to spot in Gainesville for fruit teas. There was one time the texture was off, but they mentioned switching distributors, so I hope that's been fixed. I haven't ordered it in a few months, but I'm looking forward to trying it again. This time, I was hungry, and my usual ramen spot was closed, so I decided to try their food. I got it to go since they were about to close in an hour. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and Crab Rangoons. The ramen had a decent broth, and the portion was filling. The broth was creamy but lacked the deep, slow-simmered richness you'd expect. The noodles had a good texture but weren't as firm and chewy as fresh ramen should be. The toppings--tender pork, green onions, and an egg--were satisfying. I wish the pork was as melt-in-your-mouth as proper chashu. It's a convenient option if you're already there, but for a truly rich tonkotsu experience, I'd go elsewhere. The Crab Rangoons were crispy and had a nice balance of creamy and savory filling. Overall, Kung Fu Tea is still my favorite spot for boba, and I'm excited to come back to see if the consistency has improved!
