The location is great. It is clean and smell great. It is adjacent from the Steve Spurrier Restaurant. The associates were awesome and helpful. They have a lot of items to select from. I like ice cream to actually be CREAMY. This was freezer burned every time I come. In addition when I ask for a 2 scoop my expectation is for the scoops to fill the cup and not be barely 3/4 full. When I ask for the cup to at least be filled for what I'm being charged (which is WAY OVERPRICED FOR THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT) they insist on charging me for an extra scoop?? Ok. So this place is amazing! First of all the smells when walking in are so good, Second I brought my kids and they went above and beyond for them. This means alot to me being a mom of 2 toddlers. When people treat them well it goes a long way for me. They also gave my kids free stickers. The ice cream and chocolates are a big hit too. And lemme tell ya, each time I head I'm there, I'm hit with the smell of fresh chocolate, it feels like I walked in a warm hot chocolate house lol! I mainly get cookies and cream, Georgia peach, lemon/raspberry sherbert and sometimes I'll mix and match, which the staff has no issue with-- Speaking of staff, they've been super nice with me, no issue there. My most recent trip came after a night of indulgent and I continued to let the tradition roll on over at Kilwin's. Welcomed in by the sweet smiles of the employees and the sweet smell of homemade chocolates, ice cream and more in the air, it was the perfect post-dinner treat. I always try to switch up my flavor choice and am one of those annoying people that likes to try like every flavor before I choose, (sorry Kilwins team :( ) and this time I went with Salted Caramel Ripple on a sugar cone!! Nice job - certain you waiting on two more customers would not have affected your closing duties!!! The ice cream and caramel apples are SO GOOD. They can be a bit pricey, but it's worth it. The workers here have always been so kind and helpful, especially when I take forever to pick an ice cream flavor. They do let you sample the ice cream before you commit to it. Stopped in for some coffee today. They were pretty empty since it was a game day. I ordered a flavored latte. I received a very light cup of mostly foam and missing about an inch of coffee. It was also lukewarm. (See picture) I opened it before leaving because it felt way too light and tried to get their attention, but they were occupied with a large group and no longer looking in my direction by the door. I showed my husband and he said that the girl who made it seemed to not know how to use the machine and she sprayed foam all over the place while making it. Their ice cream is usually good but I'll never come back here just because of the customer service. If you don't know how to make something, you should not serve your "half attempt" to the customer. read more

This location is absolutely beautiful it's got so much charm and sweets galore! The bright white lights makes the shop feel modern and clean. The incredible waffle cone smell surrounding the air. I would've been content just walking in for a smell. But of course I had to try the ice cream. I sampled a few and they were good, nothing out of the ordinary. Until I tasted the apple pie ice cream. Let me tell you if this wasn't the best darn ice cream I've ever had! This place has sweets from fudge, caramel apples, sorbet and more! I'd love to try their other sweets but I don't know how I'll be able to convince myself not too get the apple pie ice cream because it was really that enjoyable. Throw in that it's located in Gainesville's beautifully built Celebration Pointe I can't really find much wrong with such a sweet place. read more

The best hot chocolate in Gainesville! Though I have not tried their ice cream or other items on their menu, I can definitely say that their hot chocolate is SO delicious. My friends and I were out walking around Celebration Pointe in the chilly cold weather and we decided to get to Kilwins for their hot chocolate. Though we had a little bit of a wait (there was 6 of us) to get our drinks, it was worth it! The hot chocolate is made out of froth milk and topped with chocolate shavings. When we received the drink, it was really hot to the point where we burnt our tongues (we couldn't wait haha). There are 2 types of hot chocolate but the regular hot chocolate is always a classic! Kilwins is great because they offer more than just the traditional ice cream flavors: vanilla, cookies and cream, etc. They also have their own signature flavors that are just as good. As soon as I walked in the door, I noticed the crew making waffle cones fresh. That's always a good sign at an ice cream shop. When I took my first bite, I was genuinely surprised. What I thought was just another ice cream shop quickly became one of the best I've had in a while. The ice cream was delicious and the crew members are all very nice. I waltzed up to the doorway and before I knew it I was inside gushing over this magical place I found. The store was clean, pristine and storage cases were sparkling. Everything looked irresistibly delicious, I wanted one of everything. The caramel apples start at $5.99. I got one scoop of Georgia Peach ice cream and one scoop of Mystery ice cream which is a beautiful robin egg blue that tasted like marshmallow tutti fruitti to me. Then we went to Kilwins on Sunday after our movie because they also have fudge. I need to add fudge to my particular list. I thought, surely, the hype about the fudge and candy will exceed the hype about the lackluster ice cream. I was wrong. Okay, so really, I'm particular about a couple of more things: 1. Chicken Fingers 2. Ice Cream 3. Coleslaw 4. Fudge 5. Peanut Butter and Chocolate Ice Cream 6. Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream 7. Peanut Butter and Chocolate fudge or buckeyes The buckeye was really good. I've never had one before so I was pleasantly surprised by the smoothness of the peanut butter and the delicious taste of chocolate. The chocolate and peanut butter fudge, on the other hand, was not so great. Which is weird. The fudge was smooth, but there was barely any flavor of peanut butter. Also, it was ridiculously expensive. I think my little half-sized was $8, and the whole bar would have been $10. Ten bucks for fudge? I'm just disappointed. My husband suggests we try again but I leave my fudge out for a day to see if it goes stale and bring out the flavor. read more

I came by two days after this location opened in Celebration Pointe. The shop was bright, clean and smelled chocolatey. There is a lot in this store: chocolates, fudge, candies, truffles and ice cream. I was offered a free sample of fudge right away by Kate and Kimmy. I love Kilwins and this location didn't disappoint! The storefront is gorgeous and very clean. The staff is very kind and helpful. I got the toasted coconut and the chocolate salted caramel ice cream. The toasted coconut was perfect but I found that chocolate salted caramel to be a little more salty than I'd like. Usually this is the best treat on a hot summer day, ice cream cone with tasty Kilwins ice cream but NOT today. The ice cream tasted strange and was not of it's usual firm texture but was gritty and barely formed. When I mentioned to the salesperson that the ice cream just didn't taste right, he was not at all surprised and told me their freezer was breaking. Again, I told him that the ice cream tasted bad, he just shrugged his shoulders and said "oh". No offer to refund the money and not even an apology. Im sure he is just doing his job but not what I would expect from a well know and reputable establishment as Kilwin's. I would suspect whomever trained this otherwise nice young man did not prepare him for what to do when a customer is dissatisfied. Also I would question the integrity of the management certainly not the salesperson since I would think a good manager would not allow the sale of a product that is already known to be lesser quality. Now that makes me wonder what is the quality of their other products. So sorry, but we won't be back to this store and I warn anyone in the future especially since money is so tight and is such a treat to look so forward to their ice cream and then this happens.. read more

Really cool ice creme place at the cutest little spot. I thought it was surprising that there was another ice creme/dessert spot litteraly right next door. The ice creme I got in the cone was a mint chocolate chip. It was decent, nothing transcending to the heavens. There was no seating in the store to sit and eat, but right outside of the plaza there's swings and rocking chairs, which I'm sure is not affiliated with the store as it is a shared space. So excited for this to open! I've been a couple times since they opened. We had the maple walnut fudge and the chocolate peanut butter fudge that we brought home the first visit. It didn't last long until we ate it all! Then last night we went back and got ice cream! It was delicious and they even had cute names like "Gainesville Mud" to make it appeal locally. There is also a gorgeous sitting area outside to enjoy your ice cream with benches, couches, swings, cornhole and bocce ball.
