Needed a quick pitstop grubbery place after some grueling MTB riding at San Felasco State Park. Harvest Thyme Cafe was the choice, a nice sandwich cafe shop in downtown Alachua. The strip of the road carried some historic charm to it, and even this cafe building was historic, modern vibe to it. Their menu is not too overly extensive. Vegan and Vegetarian options available. The Italian Sub (4/5): Not too bad of a samich, great portion, lots of bread. I think it would have tasted better toasted. Big Thyme; on Lettuce Wrap option (5/5): I did not order this but am told it was pretty good We also some pleasantry chat with the in-house HTC groupie... is what I would call her. Very friendly. And, Shout Out to Lindsey for her good service.

The coffee shop is bright, pretty spacious and had pretty moderate noise, great enough for some remote work. There's also an outdoor patio, however it's too hot to sit outside right now. Based on the reviews, I wanted to try out the Honey Badger with almond milk and a traditional meat pie with their signature hot sauce. While waiting I got a chance to look around the shop and they some cute swag and gift boxes for your tea or coffee lover friends or self. The first sip of the Honey Badger - I was in heaven, wow. This iced coffee had the perfect amount of sweetness from the vanilla and honey, with a kiss of cinnamon. I can see why this a favorite. The traditional meat pie was really good and not heavy. The only thing I didn't like is the crust was very salty. Thankfully, the hot sauce which was a sweet spice completely the tomato based flavors of the meat pie. I look forward to stopping by to satisfy my Honey Badger fix!

It was super smooth and creamy, not icy at all, with the perfect sweetness and a light espresso flavor so it drinks more like a dessert coffee. Great coffee, but painfully slow service at the Alachua location…read more I've been a fan of Ellianos Coffee for years and have visited multiple locations across Florida. The drinks are consistently solid with good strong espresso, good flavors, and reliable options. The Alachua spot has the same great menu and quality brews I've come to expect. Unfortunately, the service here is a major letdown compared to every other Ellianos I've been to. What is usually a quick drive-thru stop elsewhere, turns into a long, frustrating wait in Alachua. Even with a moderate line (or sometimes barely any cars), it takes significantly longer to move through the order and pickup process. I've experienced very slow pacing multiple times with the staff seeming disorganized and often standing around chatting with one another goofing around while customers are waiting, and orders taking forever to prepare with less accuracy, and overall much less efficiency than the chain's usual "speed and precision" promise. For better accuracy, it would be beneficial for the person taking the order to repeat it back to the customer. Other Ellianos locations handle busy mornings with quick, friendly service even during rushes. This one is noticeably slower and less streamlined, which is disappointing when you're just trying to grab a coffee on the go. The coffee is still worth it if you're not in a hurry, and the staff are polite when you finally get to the window. But for drive-thru convenience and speed, this Alachua location falls short of the Ellianos standard I've enjoyed elsewhere. Hopefully they can pick up the pace because it's the one big thing keeping me from being a regular here. If you're in the area and have time to spare, give it a try for the drinks. Otherwise, I'd stick to other nearby Ellianos or alternatives if speed matters.

Coffee Culture isn't into that bananas behavior either and that's why you should definitely stop by. The hours are incredible for that afternoon caffeine high need or an evening study sesh. The coffee isn't some grand level of masterful craft specialty coffee creation, but it's good and it's worth what you get and the flavors are always fun and seasonal. And so, as it were, I've been to enough tea places to drown myself a few times over in tea and well, I'm often unhappy with the value. Lots of places like to cheat. So, I digress, of all the teas I've been to in all the years, I place this tea among the highest. My boyfriend got a cappuccino with strawberry syrup but we didn't really taste the strawberry in his. Regardless, it was delicious. We also got one of their biscotti which seemed like they made in house but I'm not sure. It was yummy, but definitely was not a very traditional recipe. It tasted more like a short bread than a biscotti but still very yummy. We walked out to the food truck to get some vegan bites and they definitely met expectations. The crabby patty was delicious with a great texture, and my boyfriends patty melt was also super good. We shared a mac and cheese and honestly I was full before we even got to that. The Mac and cheese was great but did taste a lot like coconut so if you're not into that then maybe veer away. The ambience was a mixed bag. The initial shop that you order the coffee in had a very cozy vibe with great decor. If you walk past the patio into the overflow seating the vibe changes a ton. The decor felt very uncanny valley, back rooms, like very odd. I think they need to work on that side of the property a little bit and make it more cozy. Maybe it's a work in progress or maybe they like it that way, I'm not sure, but it wasn't the sort of vibe that made me want to stick around. Overall great experience though! Will be coming back & hopefully I can get seating in the main shop ;)

I got the mojo tacos and for my chosen protein I went with the fried fishless filet. The two tacos came on corn tortillas with pico de gallo, queso fresco, pickled red onion, mojo sauce, and lime. Each bite was so refreshing! The lime gave a citrus kick to the sweet pickled red onions. The fried fishless fish was tender and flaky like real white fish.
