The Hungry Toad is everything I hoped it would be! After passing by many-a-time I finally went there for beers/dinner last night. Great pub atmosphere to just hang out and relax, but the food was much better than your usual pub-fare. I had no problems with the service, my french onion soup was the best I've had in a loooong time, and best of all my beer was cold and in a cool glass. My Fiance got the French Revolution burger with Fries which got a big thumbs up from both of us. Will definitely be going back! read more

Best French onion soup, bangers and mash, amazing wings!!! Burgers are to die for, Fullers ESB, Reuben is awesome, veggie Reuben is awesome, fries are addictive!!! I've been going to the Toad for over 10 years, and always enjoyed it immensely until my most recent visit on Father's Day. The fish & chips, which I used to call the best in Colorado, were terrible (small pieces of fish instead of the large plump pieces they normally have, and overcooked), and my wife's hamburger was a dried out puck. I'm praying that was an anomaly, because finding a pub that serves Boddingtons and Fuller's ESB is very difficult. read more

Went there for lunch during a CU game, the ambiance is great and is a great local hangout! The staff was very nice and welcoming. The food was decent, but the atmosphere is why you go there. read more

There's a reason the toad is hungry - the food here leaves much to be desired! We ordered the London Broil, butternut squash ravioli, turkey Brie, and Reuben. Nobody at the table could make it through. Bread on the sandwiches was soggy and watery on the bottom, vegetables were overall undercooked, and flavor profiles did not work. Nobody noticed or cared that our plates were untouched. Paid over $100 and still had to hit a drive thru on the way home. read more

I stopped in at the Toad and was treated with all of the current papers of the day, a perfectly sized order of nachos, and an expert Guinness pour - complete with the shamrock outline in the "head." Nice location, good vibe inside, food is alright. I would suggest cutting about half the things on the menu, then making sure whats on the menu is really good. The menu is huge. Tap beer is served warm... I guess that's popular in places outside of Boulder. When its a hot day I really just want a cold beer... Finally, the flies. There is an obvious problem with sanitation when you consistently have flies buzzing peoples heads and plates of food. The first time I noticed it I dismissed it. Enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Would recommend the taco salad. With grilled chicken, peppers & onions, it was sort of a fajita/salad hybrid. Nice leafy lettuce (not iceberg) and black beans. This place has a comfortable vibe, is family friendly, and the food selection has "comfort" written all over it. Try the Poutine. It should come with a side of Lipitor, but damn it's good! Bar staff skillfully recommended a tasting of local beers and all were exceptional. read more

Ordered the English Channel Dip, the most amazing French dip I have ever had! Literally strips of tender steak, cheese, and fried jalapeños! Couldn't have had a better customer service experience either. I was quickly greeted and offered an adult beverage. The bartender, Eric, should be in a high end Las Vegas bar. Alright, I guess. They have some good English beers on tap, but the service was pretty poor, the food terrible(the fries and onion rings were frozen and the shepards pie was made with beef...I think by definition it needs lamb). I think if you are just going to reheat food you shouldn't charge so much. read more

The Toad is one of my long time Boulder favorites for lunch and dinner. It's one of those places where you just feel at home. Been going now for almost 16 years, so I've tried almost everything and everything is great! They pour a real Guinness and I love the Dirty Burger, the Pub Salad, the Turkey Reuben and the Meat Loaf...yes the Meat Loaf! My partner and I love this place! It's a great cozy place to settle into when it is snowing out. It also has a wonderful patio during the warmer months that look out onto the flatirons. It's the perfect place for a casual low key meal! I love their chicken wings, they have a really unique sauce! My favorite is their fish and chips. read more

Best pub food in Boulder. The Dirty burger is exceptional and the fish n' chips are great too. The service is a bit slow. Especially if you bring hungry kids its can be no fun. When I am going with the kids I order up an appetizer over the phone so that it is only an average wait once I get there. Its not so much that the food takes a long time to come out but rather it just takes a server a long time to get to your table. Anyway, food is great, not to mention the french onion soup is a must have. read more

This place is pubby and pleasant with decent food. I've been there several times and the performance is pretty consistent. They could improve by raising their culinary game, making sure all the food is fresh and ready to eat and by lowering their prices which are around four dollars more per dish than they're probably worth/is typical. read more
