This is our local Home Depot and it's never too crowded, unlike the Concord store. You can usually find what you are looking for pretty quickly. They don't have as big of a nursery section as Concord but do have a good selection of plants. Every Christmas we come here to get our tree due to the reasonable price and selection. read more

She saved me a trip to the blinds aisle because they didn't carry the color I needed. So she offered to search for the color I wanted online & showed me the price and different sizes. I bought a washing machine there that does not do. It stated job the clothes come out dirty and wet. But the 48 hour return policy, which is for broken or defective machines has passed. I know some of the Home Depots are doing away with self serve which sucks because their register people are slow as molasses - honestly, I don't go to those Home Depots anymore and when this one goes that route I will be a Lowes customer 100%. This particular Home Depot still has self serve but even in the morning there's a line now. They also have so much stuff under lock and key now I guess because of the people who come in and steal everything which is super annoying because if you can't find anyone to unlock it, you ain't getting what you want. I was in there today and got a young lady to unlock it pretty quick so that was nice, however she wouldn't give me the items, she had to walk them to the register, which is odd. Luckily, the lady she gave them to took me to another register and rang me up quickly, which is why rather than 2 stars I give 3. But usually it's become a pain to go to Home Depot because of the lines, everything locked down, the inability to find an employee when you need one and if you don't look up something on line first (to see where it is), you ain't finding it. read more

I was in Home Depot today, helping my elderly father-in-law (92 yrs old) purchase several items for a remodel at his house, and in an attempt to use the military discount he is eligible for. 4 diff. Clerks at the customer service counter stated he needed to use the Home Depot app.....he does not use apps., nor does he have an email. No one in the Martinez store could provide assistance. I spend a lot of money @ Home Depot on a regular basis. This is yet another example of how technology and ill equipped employees are inept. If you're going to offer a special service to our veterans, deliver the service and respect our veterans deserve. I got some great help from Deangelo in the parking lot. I had a basket of very large and cumbersome moving boxes and rolls of bubble wrap. Looking for keys to be made, I asked one CSR and he mentioned it over the intercom. Waited. No one came. People walked by but were tending to other customers. He checked on me a little while later and took it upon himself to copy the keys I needed. I didn't catch his name but thanked him for his help. Keys go for almost $4 a pop. Three customer service employees attempted to process a refund on Sunday, April 28, 2024. All of them were unsuccessful in processing it. I left the store and they got richer. They seemed to be confused how to process a refund. I called Customer Service today and Erica was interpreting California laws when I said I discussed agreed she said she would let Home Depot Management know and the store Manager would call me today. I am impress that Home Depot is still in business. This building has gone through a lot of different home improvement business. Can anyone remember the names of the previous business? It is a smaller building compare to Concord location. It surely attracts people to shop here. I am not sure it is the same people that shops at Walmart. I have seen a line at the register. Half of the register being run by Home Depot and the others self check out. Impress that this location can have a self check out. Parking can be crowded. For a smaller Home Depot surely a lot of people do shop there. There are times that I park next to a pick up with plenty of stuff. During the pandemic I might had bought Clorex and Hand Sanitizer. I am surprise Home Depot didn't limit what I can get from them. Martinez has to be thankful for having Home Depot to serve the city. read more

Went back to the store on Thursday, they told us their carrier didn't pick up at the vendor on Monday. The carrier said Glass Warehouse didn't give them the freight. Glass Warehouse said they did. The whole time we were waiting, no one gave us update why the delay or when it will be delivered. Had the most wonderful experience with the CURB SIDE pick up team. I was fretting the experience as the previous one with the HD in San Rafael was dismal with no clear markings and taking forever to come out. Fast forward to Home Depot Martinez...there were 4 clearly marked spaces for curb side pick up, each with its own stall number help the associate deliver the product to the respective owners. So as instructed to hit the "I'm here button" in the email but it seem stuck as there was only one bar of cell service. Before I knew it there was an associate in a mask and vest asking if I was picking up, gave him my name and he was out in one minute with my package. The whole transaction took less than two minutes from the time I parked, whilst my cell phone was still trying to send the message. Kudo to the young man at curb side!!! OMG. We will exclusively be shopping here despite having another location closer to us. We called ahead to check stock after learning that the online stock levels are not reliable (verified this- they are not- online said they had 42 units of what we needed, and we found 9 units in store). We quickly got a real employee on the line who checked the stock in the computer and then offered to run and check the aisle in person to make sure it was accurate! It's the small things that make a huge difference. Upon stepping foot into the store we were astonished how clean and well organized this location was! We quickly found what we need and there were so many courteous and helpful employees around! The only slightly negative note I'll leave is that because they share a parking lot with Walmart, there isn't as much large-vehicle friendly parking. read more

Hats off to the gardening department at the Martinez location (1037 Arnold Drive). I usually shop at the Brentwood or Livermore locations and the quality/health of the plants and trees at the Martinez location is 1000 times better! I felt like I was in a real nursery! It is smaller but the plants are all thriving and you can see they are well taken care of. No half-dead, beaten up trees or plants in desperate need of water in site! And the gentleman in the department was friendly and helpful. He actually knows something about gardening! He helped me make a decision about which tree to buy. A completely different experience. Terrible customer service. We needed an item and we looked online to make sure this store had the item we needed. Online it said they had 20+ of the item in stock. Upon arrival to the store we inquired about finding the item to save time roaming around the store. We were told that the items were assembled and stored outside. They were not there. We were then told that we could not purchase the item because they were in a crate and couldn't be uncrated. So after wasting about 20 minutes at the Martinez Home Depot we went to the Concord Home Depot. Not only did they locate the item we needed but they got the forklift and retrieved it for us. So go to Concord Home Depot if you want good service and don't bother with Martinez Home Depot. read more

I used to love this place. But now different people are working there. Most do a very good job, but... Today I bought a window at h.d. concord. Went to h.d. Martinez. Couldn't find it. Went to the window desk and asked them to look it up to see if they had one. "Oh no" the guy says"I can't look that up. It isnt possible" check another store ? " Isn't possible". Oh ok I'll look it up myself. " Oh no you can't do that, it isnt possible". Then told me to have a wonderful day. So.....why is this guy at the window order desk when he won't even look anything up and tells you it ISN'T POSSIBLE to find on the computer. Ok. So totally lying to my face and just refuses to help. I go to customer service. The girl tries but is very confused can't say when it will arrive and it would be at "will call" but has absolutely no idea what that means. Really ? Really? Is this how you run your store ? Is business falling off because if you refuse to sell me something I sure as hell am not going to BEG you to sell it to me. The idiocracy has arrived. Home Depot is Home Depot.. They all have the same stuff (usually). The difference at this location is the friendly staff offering help sometimes too often!!! Returns are easy peasy. Checkout is a breeze. It doesn't matter what I came to buy I always walk through lumber because I love the smell!! If your purchases are large I encourage to open a hd credit card for 10% off and then just pay and cancel the card.. When spending over 1k, it's worth it. Do it yourselfers.... I have been going to Home Depot Martinez since before they bought it from Yardbirds. Before that I went to Concord Home Depot or Yardbirds. Quickly adding that up comes to more that 1,000 visit. I signed up for ProRewards when it was offered and the good experiences I've had far outnumber the bad. Like 200 to one. Maybe a sale price wasn't but into the computer right. Or the tag fell off of a piece of wood and couldn't be scanned. I know how easy it is to allow my world to fall apart over something so insignificant. Put the blame on an innocent employee. Well... Accidents happen. I've also had employees who see me pushing a load of lumber to my truck come rushing over to lend a hand, or when asking where I could find a toilet repair kit would stop what they were doing and walk me to it. What I am saying is... don't ruin an innocent employees day. Don't ruin your day. Take a deep breath and go take a photo of the sale sign with your phone or whatever it takes to be a good customer and keep the line moving read more

I am writing my dissatisfaction with Home Depot and Contractor JW Flooring. I am a previous customer and have had my living room floor done by Home Depot in the past and let's just say after this experience I will NEVER utilize Home Depot again for any future home floor projects. I am a single female that decided to have Home Depot complete my home project because of prior work and reputation. I opted to have Home Depot come out and measure my project so that it would be measured CORRECTLY and to ensure I had the appropriate supplies to complete the project. Below is a list of the inconveniences, unprofessionalism, and potential harm to my health and home I have experienced. 1. I was told Home Depot NO LONGER would be selling montrose oak, the laminate that I have in my living room and that I had to pick something else. Leann was able to find the montrose oak at different locations (therefore that was a lie, inconvenience, and strain on myself having to go to two different locations, load and unload extremely heavy laminate myself.) 2. I was told by JW flooring the project HAD to start on Monday and that I had to move the Laminate from the garage to inside ( strain on myself having to once again to move extremely heavy laminate.) 3. My project was set to start 7/11/22 at 8am. I received a call from JW flooring and the contractor 8am ( not a time window) I have the text message to prove it. The contractor did not show up until after 1130am. Which was a huge inconvenience because I could have went to work, along with his extremely late arrival pushed back the completion on my project as projected. 4. The contractor used a saw in my home to cut the laminate which then set off fire alarms and proceeded to disconnect one of my fire alarms. Which is a huge fire hazard along with the unnecessary dust that is harmful (LUNGS) throughout my home as a result of it. I contacted JW flooring left messages no one ever returned my call until the next day Wednesday 7/13 and that was only after I contacted Mark regarding this issue. 5. The contractor nor the site manager had no idea of who would complete my stairs, bathroom, or when the plumber would be called to reinstall my sink. I reached out to Mark again and JW flooring and did not get a final answer until 7/15 the day my project was scheduled to be completed. 6. The contractor was in my home for three days and contacted me the morning of Thursday 7/14 that he and his worker both had Covid and that he hoped JW flooring found someone to finish the job. JW flooring never contacted me only until after I contacted Mark regarding my concerns and being exposed for 3 days to a highly contagious virus. Beth, at JW flooring finally called me after the new contractor already arrived in my home to state " this is the times we live in and Covid does not live on surfaces." THAT IS A LIE! I work in healthcare and there is a timeframe where isolated rooms needs to be cleaned and aired out to prevent spread. 7. I spoke with Mark Thursday 7/14 and stated I looked at the supplies left and that it didn't look like there would be enough supplies to complete the project. Mark ensured me that it should be enough. Also requested a concrete answer of who and when will my stairs and bathroom will be completed. I never received a response back regarding the completion of my stairs or bathroom. 8. I called JW flooring on Friday 7/15 to inquire again if the 3rd contractor who presented today would complete my stairs and bathroom and what the timeframe entailed. Beth returned my call and stated the contractor can complete the project in two days. Along with the contractors assessment that I needed more laminate. In which I informed Mark on 7/14 that it did not look like enough and was not listened too. Therefore, I had to find a Home Depot that had the montrose oak in stock and pick it up myself which was another inconvenience and strain. I am dissatisfied with the lack of customer service, inconvenience, strain, and potential harms to my health and home I have experienced. I have contacted the contra costa health department and better business bureau regarding my concerns. read more
