I went to this place this morning, I was looking for a shower stem. The sales guy told me "you can look for it , we have some on display if you don't find it you can look for it on the book or catalog they have. I said I don't have time to look for it , I was about to say something about it but I left. They were not busy , they have more experience that me selling Plubming parts. I now I have to do their job:( go figure. I went to General Plubming in Walnut Creek and they spent a lot of time looking for it and they even have Stem identification Request Form. You can Text or email pictures of the parts you are looking for. Next time I won't waste my time and go directly to GENERAL PLUBMING. I was very impress with their customer service also. Absolutely horrible experience when I came in Saturday morning. I was not greeted and walking into the store with no one inside of it when I finally tracked down one of the guys and he had no idea what I was looking for he said I would have to wait for the other guy. The other individual finally showed up and advised me he cannot do anything today because there's only two of them working and special orders cannot be ordered today because there's only two of them. Our architect/designer made an appointment for us to visit the showroom. I thought it would be prudent to call and ask about wheelchair accessibility. I was told there are no ramps and the showrooms are upstairs and that there are no elevators. I thought inaccessibility is illegal. they sold me a part that would not be returnable if it didn't work because Rheem no longer supplies GE with parts. Sure enough, it didn't. $67 down the drain. anyway, that's not the reason for the bad review. The bad review comes from the way i was talked to on the phone. I was interrupted constantly, spoken to condescendingly and when i told him to dial it back and slow down so i could make sense of what he was saying, he said "i'm sorry if you drew the Old Maid card". at which point, being stunned speechless, i hung up. I purchased a whole house full of supplies from general plumbing and after spending thousands of dollars they would not help me find parts to a tub that I have. I ended up coming to Heieck supply and the gentleman working there was very helpful and helped me track down the parts I needed as well as printed out all of the information on the parts. Purchased some drains from Heieck that we had to pick up in Hayward at the manufactuer's warehouse. When the bill arrived (we have an account with Heieck) the cost was 4x what the drains cost on the internet and 40% more than the Manufactuer's list price. They normally charge us less than list, especially if they only have to deal with some paperwork. Spoke to the counter people and they were not of much help. Called back two days later and asked for a quote as if I was a different customer and was quoted a lower price that what they charged us. We should have verified the price before giving them a purchase order, but in business you tend to work with vendors who don't take advantage of you. Its a trust factor, which in this case Heieck has lost our trust. Time to find a new supplier. read more

This place is primarily for contractors, not the general public. This place is good if you know exactly what you are looking for, as there is no showroom; you can call ahead and check price and availability. That said, if you do buy something, double check any paperwork you sign, as there is a 25% restocking fee. After I bought some stuff there, and signed without looking, I checked it at the dock before loading it and it turned out the guy had sold me the wrong model numbers and colors. He was nice about it and we redid the transaction and he got me the right stuff, but if I had brought it home I would have been stuck with the 25% restocking fee. read more

Great customer service! Water heater final took a tank...after going to Home Depot and Lowe's and getting frustrated (2 weeks to order the size I needed and no one around to help!) I went to Heieck and they had what I needed! Not only did they recommend what to do they also told me what NOT to do and saved me $$$. They are even saving me a trip to the dump ($50 for a water heater) by disposing of my water heater for me. I will be back! read more

I came here on the advice of my contractor. He recommended the place because he felt the prices were fair and surely beats that "other place" in Walnut Creek that everyone raves about. Selection is not extensive, but there are two floors of items to choose from. if you still cannot find something, catalogs are available. It is advisable to make an appointment with Griselda if you are unsure of what you need to get. It was the best hour spent instead of wandering aimlessly in the store. I was definitely impressed with Griselda's knowledge and how she understood our needs. I would have given five stars, if some items on the floor (ie, toilets) were more extensive. One of the items we ordered took a month to get. No fault of the store's, but didn't make the overall experience a '5'. read more

I just want to give a shout out to the guys at Heicke plumbing supply. Our company Bay Area Plumbing BAP Inc. bought a hard to find water heater on a Saturday morning. We brought it with us to the customers house, removed the customers old water heater, and unboxed the new water heater. What we discovered was that the water heater had been damaged. By this time the plumbing supply shop was closed and we had to install the new water heater in order to provide hot water for the customer. I took pictures of the damaged water heater and the following Monday went back to Heicke with the pictures. They ordered a new water heater for me which took two weeks to get. I picked up the new water heater, went back to the customers house and replaced the damaged water heater. I brought the damaged water heater back to Heicke. While our company had to spend extra time (two trips) I appreciate the way Heicke handled the situation. read more

Eh. This place is just that, Eh. Actually this place is unprofessional, unorganized, mismanaged, rude, and way over priced for being a junk parts "supply" store for plumbing parts. Being a contractor, we have had our share experiences with Heieck and all have been frustrating and a waste of time. Our last and final experience with them, we pre-ordered a custom plumbing part, and pre-paid for it only for their "sales rep" (a guy who sits on his butt all day doing nothing productive with no experience in anything really) sold it right from under us to another client. Our pre-ordered, pre-paid part reserved and paid for was just miraculously "sold" to another client. Who does that? Oh yes, they do. Because they hire incompetent employees. If you are a contractor then you know what a huge inconvenience this was to us, but since we have good contacts throughout the Bay Area, we were able to get the part in stock at another Koehler rep in Oakland. We have also compared prices with actual real supply stores like General Plumbing, and they actually care about customer contractor retention and gives us better prices around the board. If I were you and esp a contractor, don't waste your time and hard earned money coming to this sorry excuse of a business. Go to General Plumbing in Walnut Creek, or heck even Lowe's down the street would be better then these crooks. read more

We had been ordering fixtures, etc online until we saw that Heieck offered everything at about the same price. We also wanted to support a local business. What a mistake. When we went to pick up our order, they had trouble figuring out whether we had paid or not (huh?), and when we had to return one of the items the next day they charged us an OUTRAGEOUS 35% restocking fee! The online company we used provides the same products, and allows 30 days to return with NO restocking fee. Not only will we never step foot in this store again, we will advise others against shopping there as well! read more

I was told to go here by another plumbing supply for Kohler parts. Took in my part, showed it to clerk, who told me he needed the number off my toilet. "Could NOT match it just from the part." So I drove 15 minutes back home, got number & called it in. Was told it was a "bad" number & I needed to bring in the part so they could try to match it. Which I had just done. Went to Kohler web site myself, and found a part I was able to get at Home Depot. read more

Wow, where do I start? I purchased an Air conditioning unit through a local retailer that uses heieck as their distributer. When I received the unit, my contractor immediately noticed that the unit was missing a screw, lines were open, and looked to be used. We moved forward and installed the unit to find out later it had a leak. So I contacted Heieck and spoke to Ken M. and was informed to return the original unit and that a new unit would be sent out that same day. This went on for days. After about a week of broken promises, somebody dropping the ball, confusion and headaches I finally received the new unit. Apparently somebody dropped the ball and forgot to ship it. I then had to pay additional labor to get the old unit uninstalled and the new one put in. I was told at the time the warranty claim was submitted, that I would be reembursed for the additional labor, headache, etc. So I submitted the paperwork to Ken and then waited to get the reembursement check. Another week went by and I had heard nothing. I contacted the retailer 2 weeks later to find out the claim had not even been submitted for my additional labor and that I was in fact not covered under the warranty when I was told a month earlier that I was. THE FACT OF THE MATTER and the ISSUE here isn't that I didn't get the money back I was entitled to. The problem is the incompetence of Heieck and the lack of warranty knowledge of their salesman on their own products. How could you not know what the warranty covers and doesn't cover. Either I was lied to from the beginning or they are completely incompetent. But regardless I have a problem either way and will never do business with Heieck again and recommend that you don't either. read more
