Gary and his crew did an amazing job installing our gorgeous new granite countertops. It was a complicated job, but all went smoothly. They managed to install the entire thing with only one seam! Amazing. Communication was excellent. Gary was super honest, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. We were delighted with the final result and would highly recommend Hung Hsi Stone Center.
Gary was recommended to me by another vendor and it's been the best experience throughout my entire remodel. He was even able to find the exact stone we were looking for. You won't be disappointed!
Over the course of 3 years, I've renovated 1 kitchen and 2 bathrooms through Hung Hsi. The owner-operator, Gary, is always easy to work with and accommodating of renovation needs. There is a variety of stone surfaces and basic cabinetry to chose from at the warehouse. You can always supplement with tiles/stone/ woodwork from other shops too. I have purchased materials from other stores/vendors and had Gary's crew do the installation as well. Either way, the price and professionalism were always excellent. Any issues or problems were always addressed and resolved.
From start to finish, Gary was extremely helpful, meticulous, and timely in his work (this also extends to his crew). They came in and got straight to work. I love my new quartz countertops. Gary worked side-by-side with his crew, a true professional. We'll be back when we update our master bathroom!
So what's new aside from me being off the Yelp grid time and again? Well, it's our kitchen! My wife and I embarked on a 4-month journey to get rid of our ceramic-tiled countertop along with the faded oak cabinets and badly-damaged enameled sink. We cannot afford the contractor bids for a complete kitchen renovation so we decided to go the DIY route most of the way except for the countertop installation. We were at Pittsburg checking out a different countertop shop when my wife saw Hung Hsi Stone Center with a solid 5-star rating on Yelp. We had time to spare so we decided to head over here and get a quote. We met Gary, the owner, who was very easy to talk to. We gave him our measurements, he showed us sample materials, and he let us continue roaming around while he went back to his office to calculate the cost. Gary's quote was not the lowest we received but we chose him because we felt comfortable with him. He had no issues if we wanted to do the prep work and he even gave us pointers on how we can do the job better especially with the installation of the farmhouse sink. His availability to install (3 week-lead time) will allow us to finish our part so timing was perfect, too. We chose one of the Calacatta patterns, paid half the total price for one slab and two matching pre-fabricated quartz countertops, and went home very happy. Gary came with three workers and they did an outstanding job with the install. It was also our first time seeing our stones so Gary ensured we will enjoy where the veins will appear once they are done. They custom-cut the slab for our 41" x 86" peninsula then tailored the prefab ones for the sink, stove, and butler's pantry. Our walls were not perfectly square so that posed a bit of a challenge for them. But with their experience, everything was done to our satisfaction. We saved a lot from the project that we were able to install new floors, too! We did the countertop demolition, prep work, installation of the sink and plumbing, cabinet refacing, and backsplash installation. Thanks to Gary and his team for filling in the missing piece. We love our new quartz countertops!
We are so happy with our kitchen. We replaced the outdated counters and backsplash for quartzite and updated tile. Shelves were added and a cabinet was removed. The team was easy to work with, gave an accurate estimate on time, and worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend!
Hung Hsi Stone Center specializes in kitchen and bathroom stones whether natural or engineered. We were at Pittsburg checking out another stone distributor for our kitchen renovation when I found this establishment via Yelp search. When something has a solid 5-star rating, it needs to be checked out. We have been slowly chipping away at our project and we were down to the countertop installation. We have narrowed down our choices to two contractors, but we still could not decide on the stone. We met the owner, Gary, right before closing time on a Saturday afternoon. He showed us around and introduced us to his products. He needed a two week-window to order the stone and then get it scheduled for installation the following week. My husband and I took some time in the car to discuss things and decided to go with Gary. Why? He was so easy to talk to and was willing to work with a DIY couple. He was not too picky like the others and gave us pointers on how to prepare everything prior to installation. We ordered one of his Calacatta stones - one slab for our peninsula and two 26-inch prefabricated kitchen counter stones. Gary stopped by our home to make sure we have enough material. It was not the final measurement as they will be doing it onsite. It took them around five hours because our kitchen walls are not perfectly square. They had to do some adjustments to make the pieces fit and we were very happy with the outcome. We used to have a bar area which we decided to remove and get it leveled with the counter giving us a 41" x 86" peninsula. The veins on the stones were beautiful as they made sure the design will appear where it mattered most. We totally liked the thick vein next to our farmhouse sink. With the countertop installed, we still had to do the backsplash. It has been a journey for my husband and I, but we were glad to have done it the way we did. Installing the countertop was not something we can DIY so we let the expert handle it. Thanks to Gary and his team!
My experience with Hung Hsi Stone Center was amazing. Excellent service, prompt appointments and accommodating to my needs. Price was fair and workmanship was top notch. Gary (Chien) is always smiling and has been doing this work for a long time and it shows. Thank you for the great work.
I bought a new home but was disappointed in the quality of the quartz used, and the seam in the middle of my island. I worked with Gary at Hung Hsi Stone Center, who was easy to work with and knowledgeable. His team fabricated the quartz, removed the old quartz, took care of the plumbing and tiling. They protected my flooring and did a thorough cleanup. I am very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend.
My Wife and I have been searching all the major granite stores and found nothing close what we were looking for until we came across Hung Hsi Stone Center. Their shop had exactly what we needed. Gary and his crew was very professional and they did outstanding work. I'm a former contractor so I know the in's and outs of getting stone counters to fit exactly how it should. Gary made the whole process worry free. They came out to make a template of my vanity area, my Wife and I was able to choose the part of the marble slab that the count was to be made of and within a day they had the counter set and sink holes cut to MY specific needs. See the PICS I highly recommend Hung Hsi Stone Center

We were in search of a countertop installation contractor when came across Hung HSI Stone reviews and one of their customers' kitchen counter is similar to ours; thus, I gave Gary a call. We visited their shop shortly after and Gary gave samples for us to review. Since my husband has our counters' measurements, Gary was able to give us a quote the same day. Gary is flexible so you can either order the counter materials from him or order from one of local stone/quartz stores and he can arrange to pickup/fabricate & install them later. Due to the large piece quartz we need for kitchen is back ordered, we ended up using quartz from Gary's shop for our bathrooms and bought different quartz slabs from another stone/slab store for our kitchen & Gary arranged to pickup them up for fabrication/installation. Gary's team needs about 2- 2-1/2 week lead time but at the end, their workmanship is very good so it is well worth it! Gary also came with their workers for both bathroom counters and kitchen counters measurement & installation and he ensures the veins matched nicely with the backsplash and also spent time to answer any questions we have with our new countertops. Def recommend them if you need countertop installation read more

We were gifted this cute little Maneki-Neko, from a fellow business owner who's company installed our beautiful counters and cabinetry in our shop. If you've ever been to Japan or other parts of Asia, or to many Asian American restaurants or shops, you've probably seen the small maneki-neko ornament waving at you from store windows and restaurants. Also known as the welcoming cat, lucky cat, money cat, happy cat, and beckoning cat, the maneki-neko figurine is believed to bring good fortune to businesses. Thank you so much to our friend, Gary from Hung Hsi Stone Center, a small local business out of Pittsburg. We've used Gary's company for our home and now our business and his work is top quality! If you're in the market for a kitchen or bathroom makeover, Gary's your guy! read more

The BBQ in this picture was designed and built by me, but when it came time to select a countertop surface, I got a bunch of quotes for granite installation, ultimately choosing Hung Hsi Stone Center. Gary's team did a great job on my BBQ. His guys were pretty quiet and just got the job done. Gary checked in on them a couple times, once near the beginning and once again when they were done. I'm really happy with the results! Gary thought about what I wanted and ended up designing the granite to minimize the number of slabs I would need. I appreciate efficiently like that! I wouldn't hesitate to hire him! read more

Used them first for the bathrooms and they did an awesome job. Now it was time to get out of the 70's Kitchen and we went back to Gary. Gary is great to work with, always helpful and does great work. Thanks Gary and team!! Still have more final touches, but what a difference already. read more

The Hung Hsi Stone Center team was a prayer answered to remodel our very old and outdated kitchen. For years we wanted to remodel. Our kitchen was severely outdated with tile countertops, linoleum floors and outdated cabinets. Visited several kitchen showrooms and narrowed our choices down to Hung Hsi Stone Center and another company. Hung Hsi Stone Center had the best estimate and great Yelp reviews so we decided to move forward with them. We could not have been happier with our kitchen transformation. Gary helped to give us our dream kitchen. His and his team did an EXCELLENT job. Gary's team installed our kitchen cabinets and our beautiful quartzite countertop. Gary came to our home to take measurements and discussed the cabinet's layout within a week of calling him. Gary provided a very competitive price quote for the cabinets, cabinets installation and countertop installation. He also provided a quote for back splash demo along with appliance and backsplash installation. We LOVE our newly installed cabinets. The cabinets are solid wood framed full face white Shaker style with solid wood doors, plywood construction, dovetail joints, full extension drawers with soft closures. This was standard with the style we selected! The Hung Hsi Center team did an awesome job installing our cabinets and countertop. Gary and his team are professional, courteous and extremely skilled in their execution. Also used great safety precautions during the pandemic. We have gotten so many compliments on our new kitchen. We HIGHLY recommend Hung Hsi Stone Center and we would use them again in the future for other projects. Please see for yourself our kitchen transformation. read more

If I could give Gary more than 5 stars, I would. We had our kitchen remodeled in early November and he helped us in designing and ordering our cabinets. They turned out beautiful. I had gone with someone else for installation but there was a section that our contractor did that didn't come out right so I asked Gary if he would be willing to come out and fix it. He did and it turned out great! I will definitely be reaching out to him when the time comes that we decide to remodel our bathrooms. His customer service skills are on point, he is very patient and honest with his advice and ideas, and is willing to go the extra mile if you're not satisfied. I really appreciate him and his crew. You will not be disappointed if you work with him on any future projects. read more

I found Hung Hsi Stone Ctr. through Yelp and I LOVE the work that Gary and his team completed with replacing my countertops! They respectfully kept safety 1st, especially during this time, while they worked (wearing masks and distanced). They were very reasonably priced and didn't leave any questions I had unanswered. Here are before and after pics (don't mind the wall...mosaic backsplash is my next project)! read more

We recently replaced the countertops in our kitchen and guest and master bathrooms using Gary. We chose quartz as the replacement material. We are very pleased with the results. Gary was accommodating, easy to work with, and knowledgeable. His crew was efficient, detail oriented, always on time, and professional. Due to Covid the renovation project took a little longer than expected. But the delay was worth it. Gary's prices were reasonable. read more

Me and my wife loved Gary his wife Iris and his crew was wonderful! His crew of Mack Russell Florentino Junior Tony and his son and then there was the wonderful sheet rock expert Miguel who also did a wonderful job of taking down my popcorn ceiling taking it down and finishing it in two days total The job that they did was so over the top top of the line such talented workers such nice people wonderful crew! And then he also brought Electrician's to the job that's another thing you'll notice Gary has all the subcontractors in his own crew that you'll ever need for anything that you need done! And such good prices!! Considering the quality of work and the quantity of work that was done the price was very reasonable I would definitely hire Gary and his crew again!! read more

We recently moved into a home that had a 25 year old kitchen that needed to be remodeled. We hired Gary and his crew from Hung Hsi Stone based on all the 5 star recommendations that we read on Yelp. We decided on new cabinets, quartz countertops, bar counter and backsplash, sink and appliance installation. First off, Gary and his company are the most attentive and courteous and professional we have ever hired. We feel so fortunate to have hooked up with them. After the initial consult and agreement was signed and scheduled, they came when they said they would without delay and explained every step along the project. They worked in a very timely manner and finished the job within a few weeks as agreed with minimum inconvenience to us. If we had questions or concerns Gary was always available and took care of them right away. We are beyond ecstatic with the service we received and the way our newly remodeled kitchen looks! It's even better than we imagined. We would not hesitate to use them again in the future for any of our remodeling needs. We have been homeowners for more than 40 years and have had many contractors and repairmen over the years and Gary and the Hung Hsi Stone Co. have been the most friendly, reliable and professional service we have ever had. read more

A little late review, but we had an excellent experience with Hung Hsi stone center! Gary was very helpful and took time to answers all our questions and concerns. He came to our house and did measurements. He also was very honest about some of our choices for our kitchen countertops. When our item was not available he showed us other options to match our 1st choice. When it was time to install his staff only took a day and they even installed our sink. They did such a good job. Then couple days later we noticed a huge scratch on our new island countertop. Gary came to the house and fixed it. This place is worth it much better prices than going to Home Depot or Lowe's. read more
