I saw all of these 5 star reviews for Home Quality Remodeling and I thought 'they seem too good to be true'. We interviewed 4 companies for our project; which was a bedroom refresh (including removing popcorn from the ceiling) and a full bathroom remodel. All of the companies were around the same as far as cost for what we wanted on the bathroom. One of the companies didn't seem to want the bedroom part of the project and were really over charging for it. One of the representatives couldn't seem to keep times and dates straight, so we were down to two companies. We have never done a remodeling project like this and I had A LOT of questions. Shay at Home Quality Remodeling took the time to answer the many questions that I had, and he came back multiple times to lay out what we wanted. He was low pressure and patient, and he really seemed to want the business. So we went with him. Shay spent a lot of time explaining processes that I didn't really understand...I'm sure that I tried his patience more than a few times. Like many people, we went into this remodel project imagining all of the things that can go wrong and an idealized version of what we wanted. While there were a few hiccups, everything was completed ahead of schedule and totally to our satisfaction. The team who was on site doing all of the work were courteous and helpful. They cleaned up often and thoroughly and were willing to do more than required to make sure that the job was up to their exacting requirements. When all is said and done, we are very happy with the final result and wouldn't hesitate to have these guys do more work in the future. So I am adding to the five star review-although some of the processes were a challenge, the end result deserves no less than five stars I am somewhat embarrassed with the before pictures, you don't really see how bad things are until you see the improvement - from a 30 year old raising three boys beat the hell out of it bathroom to the new, luxurious bathroom that we have now. read more

I reached out to HQR cold a few months back, considering a significant remodel with a rough idea of what we wanted to do. I chose three contractors for a first consultation. Ron at HQR was the best by far. Very consultative and clear about what was possible, his recommendations (not just ideas that could jack up the price) and the process. During the consult, we discussed some prior kitchen remodel work that we had done by another contractor. We had a subfloor issue that was causing bouncing in the floor under kitchen island that the prior contract refused to fix. Ron gave his assessment and immediately said he was going to have his crew fix no charge. His offer was not tied to us selecting HQR for the bigger remodel project. Ron sent Steven to assess the work that week. Steven was very helpful understanding the scope of the subfloor fix, what needed to be done, and how long it would take. He was prompt with his quote, accommodating with our schedule and his crew did an excellent job and finished in one day. While we consider our larger remodel later this year, this experience with Ron and Steven have HQR at the top of our list for contractors to partner with. read more

This past year I hired Home Quality Remodeling to remodel my two upstairs bathrooms (the master bath and guest bath). This included a complete demo of the master bath (including removing the tub and extending the shower) and partial demo of the guest bath. I was very happy and pleased with the results. From the beginning of the design phase through the final touches of the "punch list" my HQR Project manager, Ronnie Illan, was in constant contact with me. He helped me with materials questions, project timelines and even picked up some of the materials for me. From the beginning it was clear my satisfaction was his number one priority. The contractors HQR used on my project were equally friendly and easy to communicate with. Even when I made some changes in the middle of the remodel (which is bound to happen!) everyone was friendly and accommodating. Hi - we just finished a 300 sq ft addition and master bathroom refresh with Home Quality Remodeling. We interviewed 4 different contractors before deciding to go with HQR. The pricing was comparable to others but what stood out was the follow up and interest in the project they showed. We also got to see them in action while they completed a neighbors upstairs addition in such a timely manner. Our PM Hadas with the help of the Owner Ron were always in contact with us throughout. We never had to worry about whether workers would be on-site. They were onsite daily and motivated to finish fast. The workers were all very friendly and helpful and we loved working with the electricians making sure we got every detail we wanted included. A great selling point for HQR is they have an architect and engineer handy so they can create whatever you want in house. I live in Martinez and recently had HQR remove a second floor bathroom shared by two bedrooms, and replace it with two mirror image bathrooms, one for each bedroom. I have had a lot of exposure to hiring contractors before for other houses I have owned. 90% of the contractors out there are not trustworthy. Some bribe you up front offering a big discount if you promise that when they're done to give them a positive review. Other contractors will promise you the world and fall short on communication, disappear for days at a time while they start other projects, and cut corners failing to deliver what what promised. This is normal. The goal is to find a contractor that is one of the top 10% that actually employs skilled artisans and delivers what they promised, and in some cases more than they promised. When I first engaged HQR, I was skeptical, as a result of the experiences I have had in the past with other contractors. This includes the houses I've worked on with contractors, and the houses many of my friends worked on with contractors. HQR had their ducks in a row from day one. They laid out the whole process, step by step. Their estimate was detailed and very fair. Then, they delivered not only everything they promised, but their crew was always one step ahead of what we wanted, doing things before we asked, and going above and beyond in very thoughtful ways. The framers, plumber, electrician, tiler were artists at their trades. Even the town building inspector that came to inspect the rough-in remarked that he doesn't often see quality work in framing, plumbing and electrical that HQR did. I was very anxious about this whole job, until it began, and once I saw how well they kept us informed, how well they handled unforeseen problems that are common when remodeling older homes, I completely relaxed, confident that they were doing an excellent job. From the first week (it was a 7 week job) I was both happy and excited, feeling like I was living in my own episode of This Old House. The project manager Shay was here every day to look things over and assist when needed. Texts to the project manager or any of the workers were answered immediately, day or night, week day or weekend. It was also great that they included an interior designer to draw up plan documents and assist with choosing finishes, like vanities, toilets, tiles, lighting, etc. The job finished on time. We are 100% satisfied with the results, and the entire process. I don't write too many positive reviews, and I can be a son-of-a-b... because I am very demanding, and I expect nothing but excellence. Absolutely the Worst Experience - Avoid at All Costs What was supposed to be a simple, small job converting a tub to a walk-in shower for ADA purposes--turned into a 3-month nightmare. I have never experienced such blatant incompetence and disregard for a customer's home in my life. From the beginning, it was a disaster waiting to happen. They began tearing apart my shower/bathroom before they even had the necessary product on hand! Who starts demolition before confirming they have everything they need? No coordination, no respect for the original plan everything spiraled out of control almost immediately. When the shower finally arrived months later the workers, who didn't even work for the company, told Javier (the head contractor) that the shower they ordered wouldn't fit in the house. Rather than adjusting their plan, they decided to cut down walls to try and make it fit--only to later realize they had to order a new shower anyway!! The unnecessary demolition was because of poor measurements and poor judgment. This kind of incompetence is staggering. What followed was even worse. They tore down beams and door jambs that were never supposed to be touched. The initial request was to remove just a small part of the wall, but they went rogue and demolished far more than necessary. Dust covered my entire house, and zero precautions were taken to protect my property. No one even checked for asbestos, and I had to send samples to a lab on my own. My elderly father sat in this dust for weeks. To top it off, they left piles of trash on my pavers for weeks despite promising to clean it up. Watching this unfold on my cameras was heartbreaking--I couldn't get there fast enough! It got worse. The workers admitted to my wife and me that they didn't even know why they were doing half the tasks and that they didn't even work for the company! What the actual...?? There was absolutely zero communication between the crew and management. On top of that, they cracked my pavers while delivering materials, and now they're denying any responsibility. After confirming with the paver company, I know for a fact their materials caused the damage--yet I'm still the one paying for repairs! As if that wasn't enough, they promised to send a cleaning crew after the demolition. What did they send? Two women with a small vacuum and a bucket of cleaning supplies, who did the bare minimum. The house was still covered in dust, and my dad continued sitting in filth for even longer. Then the audacity - they accused us of yelling at the cleaning crew! Which I also have on camera of no such thing! I refused to let them send the crew back and will hire my own cleaners instead. It's beyond insane that we were left to clean up their mess! And don't even get me started on their Yelp photos. After what we went through, I'm convinced those photos are fake. The quality of work we received doesn't come anywhere close to what they advertise. Their claims of craftsmanship are laughable, and the end product was a disaster. It's hard to believe that the photos on Yelp reflect their real work. This company is the complete opposite of professional. It felt like some kind of family run business, husband, wife, and even their kids came out at one point to pick up trash. The entire experience was bizarre, infuriating, and completely unprofessional from start to finish. If you value your time, money, and sanity, do yourself a favor and avoid this company. We had HQR help us build a walk in closet for the master bedroom. This involved shifting walls and creating a small bump-out to create enough space. Amir was the project manager. Alvaro and Nelson were the two main contractors on site. During the framing phase of the project, Alvaro and Nelson noticed that the circuit breaker was tripping when the nail gun air compressor turned on. It turns out my lights and outlets were on the same circuit. WTH? Since the walls were opened up, Alvaro recommended we rewire the house and put the overhead lights and the outlets on separate circuits. I'm glad he made this discovery during the project, it would have been a nightmare if we found this issue after we moved into the house. After the walls were moved, we ended up with gaps in the hardwood flooring. Despite our best efforts, we could not find similar flooring to fill in the gaps. Alvaro was able to salvage enough flooring from the smaller bedroom to fill in gaps where wall sections used to be. (we switched the small bedroom to a different flooring type, hence able to harvest flooring) Since the old flooring was nailed and glued in, I was skeptical that Alvaro could salvage any planks yet alone fill in the gaps successfully. My plan was to put in "close enough" planks, sand off the polymer wear surface and channel my inner DiVinci to color match the plank by hand after the renovation was done. Yes, I was going to get on my hands and knees and recolor the plank. How hard could it be? Alvaro looked at me and said, "There is no way you can get a good enough match. The moment you walk into the house you will see it and it will bother you. Then you will call me a back a year from now and it will be even harder to fix." Alvaro spent an hour on his hands and knees carefully harvesting planks from the smaller bedroom. Considering the planks were nailed and glued, I'm amazed he was able to have a non-zero harvesting yield. I thought at best he would have 4-6 inch long splintered fragments, I still don't comprehend how he managed to salvage whole planks. I'm glad Alvaro talked me out of my idea. The repair was so surgical and artistic, I could not tell there used to be a hole in the floor. (I'll find a picture and post it to the review) Alvaro and Nelson are an awesome team, they are true craftsmen. I appreciate them taking the time to explain what they are doing and why they are taking a particular approach. The architect's plans called for a new foundation to be added to support the bump-out. The plans were for a 15-inch deep foundation. Alvaro noticed that the house's original foundation is 24-inches and made decision to dig deeper and match the original foundation's 24-inch depth. I appreciate it when there's someone looking out for your best interest. Its rare that you find guys who take pride in their work. When I reviewed the inspection report card the building inspector fills out, they always pass on the first visit. No remediation, no schedule delay. If you are looking to have work done, I highly recommend you get Alvaro and Nelson assigned to your project, you will appreciate the workmanship! On a housekeeping note, Alvaro and Nelson went to a lot of trouble to protect the hardwood floor and to minimize dust. Although I wasn't living there during the renovation, I appreciated their efforts. I've been through two renovation projects at other homes in the past, I've never seen contractors try so hard to keep things clean. It was a major job and I expected the place to be dusty and in need of cleaning afterwards. My fiancee and I had planned to spend a few days cleaning the house after construction was done. To our surprise, Nelson had arranged a team to come in to clean up after our walk though. They even helped us polish the wood floors, we were not expecting that, what a surprise! read more

I was helping my parents pick a good contractor for remodeling their home and we found HQR along with a few others that we were considering. We scheduled a meeting with HQR, which by this point, we'd talked to 3 other contractors, and Mike showed up. We were immediately impressed by his appearance as he was nicely dressed and represented his company well. Then we talked about the project and Mike told us things we weren't even considering, that the other contractors hadn't even told us. He explained the entire process and broke down why certain steps had to be taken. His knowledge of the area and city codes was beyond the normal consultation. HQR, and specifically our project manager Amir Levy, was so good that this is the first time I have wished I could leave a 6-star review. I'll give specifics below, but the bottom line is that they are honest and reliable, they communicate well, and they do incredibly high-quality work on even complicated projects. We hired HQR to demolish an unpermitted addition that was built by the previous owners, then build a new legal addition in its place. The new addition needed to connect two different existing rooflines and intersected multiple load-bearing walls. Highlights: (1) This was our first time doing a major remodel, and we had a lot to learn. Amir went above and beyond helping us identify and resolve potential problems early, patiently answering all of our questions, and explaining our options when a decision needed to be made. (2) Once we had architectural drawings, HQR gave us a quote and stuck to it. Over the entire lifetime of the project, HQR never once added an unreasonable surprise fee. There were also a few extras we voluntarily added to the scope, such as updating our guest bath and creating a laundry closet, and HQR always gave us reasonable prices for adding them. (3) Amir aimed for perfection as if this were his own house. If a mistake was ever made by HQR or one of their subcontractors, Amir had it fixed quickly, no questions asked. The end result is a beautiful addition that looks exactly as we had imagined it. Finally, we learned a really important lesson on this project. We hired our own architect before meeting HQR, and this was a mistake. Using a separate architect created a lot of headaches for us and ultimately ended up costing us more money and delays than if we had used an architect hired by HQR. We plan to hire HQR again in a few years to redo our kitchen, and we will definitely use their in-house architects and designers for that project. read more

Let me start by saying this company should be called 'High Quality Remodeling'. The kitchen renovation/floor refinish project they just did for us was of such exceptionally high quality that frankly, I'm a little stunned. Having built a house (a rebuild of an 1849 timber frame) and done several renovations on old houses in the past back East, I expected the usual hiccups, no shows, jacked up additional charges and such. I'd seen it all in one project that literally took three years to complete. But there were no hiccups. Not only that -- this team truly was committed to giving us just what we wanted every step of the way. Furthermore, they had a challenge on their hands, a 100 year old house that hadn't seen much kitchen work at all in 35 years. Who knew what lay behind these walls? Mold remediation, plumbing replacement, and a rotten window frame were all done expediently, as was laying in a special new subfloor for our gorgeous tiled floor. Yes, some of these things required change orders but the integrity and high quality of these additional repairs and fees was exceptional. Example: a mold remediation add on was presented to us at a price that did not account for a subsequent discovery --a few days of additional work were required removing an entire section of wall with black mold. It also required additional plumbing--for which we were not charged! Why? Because it wasn't in that original change order. Dave, our project manager, explained to us that this was how they worked. With integrity. I have to say, we were just blown away. PS-- Dave became such a favorite of our (slightly intimidating) watchdog, she couldn't stop giving him dog hugs. Every last detail was beautifully managed. Jose, the building crew leader, had proactive ideas about lighting, electrical work, and the like. Oscar, the builder, worked his heart out every day--and did great work. The designer Karina gave us EXACTLY what we asked for, and provided truly gorgeous cabinets from Diamond. We showed her a magazine picture, and what we got was even better. Unlike a lot of folks, we did not want mid-century modern, but a homey, warm 'farmhouse' kitchen with a slight contemporary touch. And that is JUST what we got! Honestly, because of HQR's exceptional work, we can't stop recommending them to everyone we know. Hire this company. We just finished a remodel with HQR of our downstairs that included kitchen, family room and hall bathroom. I worked with project manager Ronnie and his crew led by Jairo. We had existing design plans, and before we started the project, we interviewed several contractors and decided on HQR because their portfolio of past work and talks with Ronnie. We also chose HQR because we felt the pricing was fair and transparent, especially for this area (Danville/Blackhawk). Ronnie made sure we stayed on budget and estimated 12 weeks for the project, and if it had not for a delay with our windows we would have finished within that time frame. Once we started, Ronnie's crew was here every day and was always very friendly, hard working and thorough. Staying on track and having someone work on the project every day is valuable and not something one should take for granted when working with a general contractor. Maybe it was because we had an outside designer, but I had totally underestimated the amount of time that I needed to spend myself overseeing the project. There were some hiccups along the way, and some specific installations that required me to hire some sub-contractors myself. I can say though that whenever there was an issue, Ronnie did make sure that things were fixed right away to our satisfaction. We had a great experience with HQR and Ron to do a big, full bathroom remodel (included knocking out walls, moving plumbing and gas lines, etc). There were a couple small hiccups / miscommunications but none of the construction nightmares you often hear about, and Ron even offered us a discount at the end in return for these small issues - unnecessary for him to do but very appreciated. We hired HQR for bathroom remodel in our house. Rafael was our project manager. As we proceeded with the project, we discovered additional issues with our house that required repair, so we expanded the scope of the project to repair an exterior wall with water damage, apply stucco to the exterior of our entire house, and also replace our existing metal roof with asphalt shingles. The whole project took about 1.5 years end to end. We are happy with the new beautiful bathrooms, roof and exterior walls built by Rafael's team. Rafael is very responsive to our questions and concerns through out the project. We mainly used Whatsapp to communicate, which is very useful when I didn't have time take phone calls at work. During the main phase of our project, Rafael also visited us in person once per week to discuss progress. We appreciate how Rafael kept us informed, and also patiently explained many details in remodeling to us, which is important for us when making decisions during our project. There were some period of time where Rafael was visiting Israel. Even when he was having a time zone difference, he managed to respond to our questions within 24 hours and managed the project remotely. There were some challenges during the project and Rafael always made sure that any issues occurred was taken care of. We don't have to worry about mistakes from the construction crew. e.g. 1) When testing the shower pan of our new upstairs bathroom, water leakage occurred and we found that water came out of a light bulb downstairs. Rafael had his crew fix the water leakage on the following day, and also opened the ceiling and walls in the affected areas to ensure that there is no water damage inside before re-sealing them. 2) During the construction of our new roof, the roofer took a misstep and his leg punched a hole in the interior ceiling of our living room. Rafael sent his crew to repair our interior ceiling to ensure that the repaired area has the same texture, and repaint our entire ceiling (we have a large ceiling) so that no signs of repair is left. We are happy to recommend Rafael to be the project manager of your construction project since we know that he treats our house as his own and will ensure the project is finished of high quality and to our satisfaction. read more

Since redoing our ceilings, Sean and his crew redid our bathroom. They did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. They were easy to work with throughout, were highly respectful of our house (e.g., putting down cloth to walk on, tidying up in the evenings), and helped us find creative solutions to get everything we wanted into our (small) footprint. This review is for the process of getting a free estimate only. We decided not to hire. The appointment started off great. The project manager Sean was the one who came out to give us an estimate. He was detailed looking over our existing bathroom and understanding our current problems. He identified places where it looked like the previous construction didn't do things to code. He mentioned again and again how poorly our bathroom was constructed. This made me nervous about what other problems they might uncover, but we were impressed he was discussing this as other companies we had come hadn't mentioned them. Finally he gave ideas for things we could do that we hadn't thought of. Sean asked whether I was the decision maker or whether I had a partner. I said that I have a partner. He then said we ask both people be here. No one had mentioned this to me when scheduling. Luckily my partner was home that day and even though he was in meetings all day, I caught him in a break so he could confirm with Sean everything I was saying. I found this odd but it was relevant later on. Sean had been here for 1 hour. He asked if there was somewhere he could sit down to give us an estimate. I said sure and we went out to the kitchen table. When Sean saw the kitchen he asked if he could take a look. As things had been amenable so far, I said sure. He asked if we were thinking about remodeling the kitchen and I said potentially but not in the immediate future. Even after saying this, Sean took his time walking through our kitchen and saying it was done better than the bathroom but there were still problems he could see. He talked about everything he would change. I entertained this even though we weren't remodeling the kitchen because I was impressed with his walkthrough of our bathroom and was confident we would hire. At one point he took a photo of our lightswitches without saying anything which made me uncomfortable as he had to move things out of the way and didn't ask whether that was okay. Finally we sat down so he could give the estimate. Sean had his list of handwritten items on a yellow note pad and started using his phone to add up everything. He doesn't say anything the whole time and I see him slowly write out 3 different numbers. When he finishes he explains to me what the 3 different numbers are. Then he goes on to explain that these numbers are for labor only, not including materials or permits. His estimates were 15% - 30% more than the estimates we had already gotten from other companies who INCLUDED material in their estimates. I was shocked. But, before I could even process the insane prices, he goes on to say that they need a $1k deposit from us right now and they can schedule the work. I said that I needed to discuss this with my partner and decide. I figured that we probably weren't going to go with them because of the price, but wanted to make sure my partner didn't feel differently. Well Sean then proceeds to scold me this is why they always ask that all of the decision makers be available for the appointment. I stated that no one had informed me of this when scheduling the appointment. He looked guilty but then asked if I could bring my partner out to discuss. I repeated that this wasn't possible as he was in meetings all day. At this point Sean said that they always schedule the work during this appointment because it's a lot of time for them to come out again. And if he left now that the price of each estimate would go up by $6k. When he said that, I knew it was over. No way am I going to work with a company that gives me an ultimatum like that. And they want us to commit to a price with a handwritten list of items that I can't even read and without any kind of contract? Shady. I said that's fine but I'm not making the decision right now. Then Sean proceeded to go on this huge sales pitch about how great their company is and how he is actually giving us a really good deal and cheaper than he normally would because there is the potential for "future work" (again ignoring that I stated we weren't looking to remodel our kitchen) and if I went to Home Depot and looked at the prices of things I'd see how prices have gone up and that his estimates are really good. I kept saying no, I need to think about it and I was getting more and more uncomfortable that he wouldn't leave. Eventually I saw the realization dawn on his face that I wasn't going to give the deposit. He said he'd do us a huge favor and give us 3 business days to make the decision without changing the price. I'm like alrighty.......and he finally got up and left. The appointment took over 2 hours and I felt so annoyed and upset afterwards. Never did I imagine a simple free estimate appointment could be like this, it wasn't with any of the other companies we had gotten estimates from. It left me wondering whether there were even all of these problems that he said, or if it was just a way to get the estimates up. read more

Ron, Avi and the guys at HQR did a stellar job on our huge home remodel. We added a second story to our small 2-1 craftsman bungalow in Oakland, nearly doubling it in size. We also moved a kitchen and living room wall and completely gutted our very old kitchen. We basically rebuilt the entire home, while doing out best retain and restore the character of our nearly 100 year old home. We had tried to start this process over a few years, running into snags and unethical contractors along the way, and are so happy that we landed in the capable hands of this team. At every step along the way, we felt honestly communicated with and cared for on a personal level. In addition to this, all of the subcontractors they worked with were top notch as well as courteous and considerate of our neighbors. Not only did they do a remarkable job and make our house the talk of the neighborhood, they went above and beyond to really be sure we were always 100% happy with all of the work being done. Even with the pandemic hitting right in the middle of our project, they managed to finish within our original timeline as promised. Just completed phase 2 of our full house renovation, this phase lasted approximately 2 months. The phase included a bathroom remodel, restructuring of some walls, and a major facelift to the laundry room and one bedroom. This review is about the first home visit inspection. Omer came on time and even offered to take off his shoes before entering my house. This is such a huge sign of respect in an Asian household :). He was careful, transparent, and friendly. I appreciate his transparency the most! This is such a huge project for us that I expect complete transparency. Also we had another contractor/company that stayed for 1.5 hours and would not leave because he was selling his services so hard, it was so off putting! I was so happy Omer was clear and straight to the point, it was about a 30 minute home visit which was all we needed. I'd trust them to do our renovations! We started working Sean from Home Quality Remodeling last spring and he just complete our third project. This last one was to replace all of our 1978 windows with modern one, re-do our backsplash after a previous company did a poor job with it, and he even added a beautiful quartz windowsill, using leftover kitchen counter top quartz for the windowsill of the window above the kitchen sink. On top of that he fixed up some little things at no additional cost like some loose steps and scratches in the wood floor that weren't even in scope. The team was reliable and at our home 5-6 days every week in order to stay on schedule and complete the project swiftly and within the budgeted timeframe. Our project would have benefited from a little more direct oversight of HQR's subcontractor since there were a few things that did need correction, but HQR did not hesitate to make things right when requested. I needed a small bathroom remodeled. Their quote was around average. They started on time and handled some permitting snags gracefully. Overall the work quality was decent. Unfortunately, the project dragged on for months. Some those delays were due to some permitting issues on my side. However, after those had been resolved, the project continued to drag on for weeks. In the end, they finished the project within budget. The tiling work was subpar (one wall leans, a shower drain was not mounted correctly). They cut a huge hole in my garage ceiling which was not patched back up. At nearly every stage of the process, I was asked to write them checks for work that had not been completed yet. In the end, I mostly got the bathroom I wanted at the price they promised but experienced several bumps and lapses along the way read more

Home Quality Remodeling (HQR) came through for my family big-time. We had some work done on the house previously but, for one reason or another, the contractor decided to stop showing up. We had four or five general contractors bid the job of finishing the house but we chose Home Quality Remodeling because they seemed honest, they were understanding after our negative experience with the prior contractor, and they were also reasonable. Also, we called up several references who vouched for HQR's competence. We dealt mostly with Ronnie at HQR and he was a great resource. He was always willing to explain any detail or discuss any changes (and as someone going through this process for the first time, his patience was appreciated), and he also took care of the permits without issue. There were a few bumps along the road, as I suspect there often are in these types of jobs. The tile guy accidentally sawed through the bathroom wall, the door jamb somehow got damaged, there were some minor scuffs on the floor, and the roman tub spout had to be replaced because some stupid person (...me) thought it would be a good idea to try to unscrew it. HQR took responsibility for any mistakes, though, as well as fixing my gaffes. The job overall did take awhile to finish but I can't hold HQR accountable for that. It was my first experience doing this and I suspect I got in the way more than I should have. If I could offer a suggestion to anyone looking to update or remodel their house, it would be to choose and purchase EVERYTHING at the start and then to just let the contractor do his or her work (but knowing what "everything" is can be tricky!). Now, after the dust has settled, I'm very happy with the finished product. I would recommend HQR for anyone looking for a contractor that not only actually finishes the job but takes pride in their work. I plan on hiring them in the future for any other projects that come up. read more
