We just finished working with Gilor to remodel our two bathrooms and are very pleased with the results. The whole team was a pleasure to work with, - Or. Carlos, and Jesus, especially. There were the inevitable glitches here and there, but they were always very responsive when we raised questions and made any needed fixes promptly. And, in the end, both bathrooms look beautiful. We would definitely recommend this company. read more

The best! My mom hired Gilor Construction for a full ADU remodel at her house, and the experience exceeded expectations. They started in mid-December and finished by April 7, earlier than we anticipated, and that timeline included a major setback: an 80-foot redwood tree fell on the house during a Christmas storm. The roof was crushed, part of the structure separated, and we lost power for nearly a week. It was a stressful situation, and they handled it. They repaired all of the damage and still completed the full project within budget. That alone says a lot about how they run their jobs. Or Haim, the owner, is very communicative and genuinely cares about making sure everything meets expectations. That level of involvement made a difference. The fantastic onsite team was led by Jesus, who treated the project like it was his own home. He was thoughtful, detail-oriented, and clearly took pride in the work. We would absolutely hire Gilor again and are happy to serve as a reference. read more

Gilor Remodeling Group - Team Gilor! - General Contractors Near Me - Emeryville, California

We had an excellent experience with Gilor Remodeling Group, especially Jesus (project manager) and Arturo (one of the work crew). We've done several other home improvement projects in the past and had such a headache with the contractors and sub-contractors not showing up when they said they would, or not paying attention to details, so I know how rare it is to find a contractor you actually like! Plus, their bid came in much lower than the three other contractors who quoted for us. We replaced four bathroom vanities which seemed like a small project, but required more skilled work than we originally imagined - including redoing plumbing and moving electrical to accommodate the new layout of vanity, mirrors, and lighting. The crew was very careful to cover surfaces to prevent damage (and also avoid dust getting on all our things) and to clean up their tools and equipment at the end of each day so we could have our space back. Arturo did really stellar work and clearly pays attention to the small details, like smooth caulking lines and patching each little area of drywall and paint to ensure a completely finished project. Their communication was great, and when we ran into a few hiccups with how to best install wainscoting, Jesus ensured we were happy with the plan before the crew moved forward with it. All in all, we really recommend Gilor and will be using them again for future home projects. read more

We have a tiny master bathroom that was in desperate need of updating. Gilor did a great job remodeling it and was very easy to work with. We picked out the materials we wanted after having a consult w/ Floor & Decor and then the Gilor team did the rest. We added tile to the floor which we continued into the kitchen and then did a new corner shower with extra tall glass to match the raised shower head since my wife and I are pretty tall. It was a fairly painless experience. If I had one "con," it would be communication can sometimes be lackluster. Sometimes you wouldn't hear from them for a few days + and then you'd get a text that someone was going to be there in 30 minutes... but it seems like communication issues are prevalent with almost every contractor. All in all, we had a great experience! read more

We had just bought a house with a very small narrow bathroom and we wanted to to renovate. Of the four contractors we talked to, it was Or Haim who came up with a creative and excellent solution to the problem. His plan gave us a much more spacious and appealing bathroom. All the men who worked On the job were excellent--hardworking, skilled, and always courteous and thoughtful. We worked first with Maria Pavlova to design the bathroom based on Or haim's idea and she accompanied us to pick out tiles and vanity, toilet and medicine cabinet, etc. The result is, in our view, gorgeous! read more

We were forced to do a remodel in the kitchen after a tenant had a fire in the kitchen. We had over 7 contractors give us bids. Which was a chore and very educational. Some of them so full of themselves with the outrageous prices. Gilor and one other contractor had very close bids... we choose Gilor because Or Haim was very present, kind and real. We are so glad we made this choice. His foreman Jesus was the best and they treated our home like it was their own. We are very glad we choose Gilor and highly recommend them. The kitchen was a small galley kitchen - very narrow. We had Gilor knock down a wall and put in pony wall. They were very helpful in assisitng us to figure out the right layout. They were patient with the changes we made to build our dream kitchen. We also decided to update the bathroom with a full remodel! New back deck, new windows, front and back door and garage door. Or Haim and Jesus were fantastic partners in every step of each project. They re-plastered all the walls in the house and painted them... installed recessed lighting in 4 rooms! When we were done - it was a brand new home. We highly recommend Gilor and would use them again! Thanks Or Haim and Jesus ! read more

We reached out to Gilor and his team to move our office's very large and heavy conference table, which came with a heavy quartz top. This wasn't a straightforward job; nobody knew how the table was brought in and we eventually realized this table was a permanent install that required a stone fabricator and multiple movers. It was difficult to finding a company willing to tackle this project because there were so many unknowns, and I was rejected by several companies before connecting with Gilor. Gilor and his team were professional, honest, and demonstrated commitment to the project that truly exceeded my expectations. They made the entire experience as seamless and stress-free as possible and ensured everything was completed to the highest standard. They accommodated me in every step of the process, and I am very grateful for their work. Furthermore, Gilor and his team managed to stay within our initial budget, which was an added bonus. If you're looking for a reliable, professional, and skilled team to handle a tricky move, I can't recommend Gilor and his team highly enough. They truly go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction! read more

I lost power due to a recent storm and I needed some concrete improvements done for PG&E requirements in order to get power restored. My wife and I bought our house 10 years ago and we've been planning to have an addition built since we the beginning. After much deliberation, we finally decided to get it done and met with a few contractors in the area. Gilor Remodeling was one of the first companies we spoke to, and from the beginning we knew we were going to go with them. Or Haim was our project coordinator and he was great at communicating what to expect at each stage of the project. We were connected with their designer, architect, and engineer so everything was taken care of by Gilor Remodeling from the very start. Their office also took care of the entire permit process so really the only expectations from us were to decided on our design and layout, and getting our finished materials for the job. From start to finish, Gilor Remodeling and Or Haim did everything to make this project to as smoothly as possible for my wife and I. We couldn't be happier with the end results, and I really appreciated when they sent their guys back to fix any minor issues. I highly recommend them, and will be using them again in the future for more projects. read more

Gilor Remodeling Group - After - General Contractors Near Me - Emeryville, California

I wanted a kitchen upgrade to be done within a 3 week time window (when my wife would be gone on a trip). The job: quartz countertop, tiled backsplash, "floating" 4' long shelf, new double sink & faucet; dual fuel commercial grade range with hood (which required running 2 electrical lines--a 110 & a 220); recessed LED lighting and repainting the room (which required a great deal of cosmetic prep work). I got bids from 3 companies that could do the work in that time frame. I usually don't go with the lowest bidder, but I did in this case. Or Heim (co-owner/project manager) is calm, knowledgeable, personable, flexible and reassuring-- he sold me on Gilor. (Reps from the other two companies were more anxiety provoking--talking about possible problems (asbestos removal?, the need for an entire electrical service up-grade?, etc.) that would drive the total cost through the roof. Or Heim spent a lot of time running down materials & presenting us with options which saved us a ton of work (when we did a bathroom re-model a few years ago, the project manager left us to do all the materials choosing/purchasing on our own.) Or Heim even managed to find a 40" hood made in Italy (very non-standard size in the USA ). The crew (Jesus & Gilbert) were pros--they knew their stuff & could solve problems/glitches that arose in stride with no histrionics. (e.g., it took a couple days to get the hood working--they traced the problem to an internal wiring issue that was screwed up by the manufacturer; unrelated to the hood difficulty, a previous contractor had botched installing an electrical sub-panel--it had to be completely re-wired.) They would have finished on time if it weren't for the hood & sub-panel setbacks. A big shout out to Jesus & Gilbert who worked a Saturday trying to trouble shoot the hood. I'm pleased, my wife is pleased & we'd hire Gilor (Gil + Or--the first names of the co-owners) in a nano-second for any future projects. read more

My project was remodeling a kitchen, and electrical upgrades to enable conversion to an induction range. After meeting with several contractors, I decided to hire Simple Builders, who had been referred by a neighbor. They had the best value quote - not the highest or the lowest - but what really gained my confidence was that Gil and his crew came out to confirm that a wall I wanted removed was not a load bearing wall, before making his proposal. My project was executed in record time, and was within budget - exceeding my expectations. The building permit process, which in Berkeley can be challenging, was smooth and all inspections passed as scheduled. Upgrading the electrical power to enable the induction range was a challenge. Initially, before the project began, Gil explained to me various ways this could be done and what the codes required. The team had to redo the wiring in several places - which required opening the ceilings in the laundry room and hallways. It was a lot of work but came in on budget and the impacted areas were left looking new! Or, the Project Manager, was regularly on site and in regular communication with me, always checking to see that things were done to my satisfaction. When I had questions or was confused about something, he was immediately responsive, including video-calling when I was out of town and the crew had a question about a small detail. The construction crew were all very professional and great at their crafts. Simple Builders went above and beyond to make sure that the project looked great and functioned well, including painting areas that I hadn't foreseen would need to be addressed. I would definitely use Simple Builders again and give 5 stars for their outstanding service. read more

After meeting with half a dozen contractors to review our project, we decided to hire Simple Builders. Our project was remodeling a kitchen, master bath, loft bedroom, half bath and replacing flooring and painting walls. Simply put, Gil provided not only the best value quote, but also noticed details (like uneven flooring). He drove to us on-site 3 times (!) before we signed. It was clear that he took our project seriously. Remodeling in a multi unit condo building is difficult, as it is easy to upset neighbors and the HOA. Only once did we get a complaint from a neighbor about construction noise going into the evening. Minutes after sending a text message to Gil from Simple Builders, the crew was packing up and offered an apology to the neighbors. Very professional and understanding. Our project was concluding at the start of COVID-19 shelter in place. This was very difficult for us, as we had planned to move in without any other housing arrangements as a backup. A few finishing touches were needed before we could safely inhabit our home. Fortunately Simple Builders team was able to safely finish their work while following the strict safety guidelines in place. After coming on site a few times, Gil from Simple Builders really got to know our home and paid attention to every detail. One key issue that he noticed was the uneven flooring. Using a laser, he was able to show a few inches of difference from one end of the room to the other. This was a critical detail that he was able to account for when putting in our cabinets. The photos attached speak for themselves. We would definitely use Simple Builders again and give 5 stars for their outstanding service. read more

Gil and his team saved my bathroom reconstruction! I was going through a major headache with my home insurance and other contractors who were not giving me a direct answer. I found Simple Builders on Yelp and messaged for an estimate. Gil responded back to me quickly and was able to come for an estimate the following day. Once home insurance was approved, Gil and his team got the job done in 3-4 days! Gil is super trustworthy and knows what he's doing. After being displaced from my home for 5.5 weeks due to lack of responsibility on my home insurance and other contractors not being able to give me a direct/solid estimate, Gil finished it from start to finish in record breaking time. Thanks to Simple Builders, I was able to move back home as soon as possible. Home sweet home! read more

Project Period: 9/18 through 9/26/19 We were looking to have popcorn ceilings removed from three rooms in our house. We researched four different contractors for the job and Simple Builders was the first estimate we received. Able and Alma were the representatives that came to do our estimate. They were both very pleasant and demonstrated a lot of knowledge. They answered all of our questions and explained exactly what they could do for us. The written estimate they provided us was very detailed listing each item separately to make it clear we understood what to expect. We followed up with three other estimates. In the end, Simple Builders estimate was neither the cheapest nor was it the most expensive. We chose to go with Simple Builders mainly because we liked their detailed estimates and we really liked Abel and Alma. After selecting them, the owner Gil Mimran came to meet with us to discuss the project. We learned they were a new company and his passion for making things simple to understand for his customer really made us feel good about our choice. In the end, we are so happy we chose Simple Builders. The project was estimated to take a week and was completed in 8 days. Most of the work was done while we were out of town. We had a family member overseeing the project while we were gone. We were getting reports about how incredibly hard Abel and Alma were working and how clean they left things when they finished each day. The fact that the two of them were able to complete the entire job by themselves was nothing short of amazing. They worked long hours and made sacrifices in order to complete work in the downstairs rooms in time for our return home. This allowed us to have rooms to sleep for all of us including my sister that spent the night with us before returning home the next day. The last four days of the project, they continued working while we were in the house. Watching how hard and clean they worked was really something to see. They were very meticulous in making sure the work was as perfect as possible. We cannot stress enough how impressed we were with both Abel and Alma. We highly recommend Simple Builders to anyone who is looking to do any type of project. If you are also lucky enough to get Abel and Alma on your project, we guarantee you will be very satisfied. Any future work we need done, Simple Builders will be the company we choose. read more

Rewired a doorbell and a ceiling fan. All of the work was well done, correctly as we agreed, there were a few things that needed to be handled at the end which was easily worked out.
