Rather than install the correct box and ground connection, Golden Heights Remodeling semi-installed the incorrect box and neglected to connect the ground wire to the gfi outlet but instead used electrical tape to hide the entire area. We converted our older home from a 4 bedroom, 1 bathroom to a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath. This included an addition, new windows, new siding, removing walls and the chimney, and redistribution of the heating ducts. It was a full gut and remodel. It was important to us to reuse the original woodwork and match the same style of the home to keep its original character. They did just that. Five years later and we are still so happy with the quality of their work. We recently rehired them to completely renovate our screened-in front porch, which included new flooring, new screens, painting, outdoor fans, and recessed lighting. Very happy with the quality of their work and the professionalism of the crews. I don't think we will ever hire anyone else to do home projects in the future. read more

We are thrilled with our remodeled living room and basement! We knew we wanted to update both spaces but needed some guidance with the design and layout, and everything came together beautifully. The team was excellent to work with, even when a couple of unexpected issues came up during the project. They were professional, punctual, communicative, and easy to work with from start to finish. The craftsmanship and attention to detail really show in the finished product. We highly recommend them for any home remodeling project! read more

What a wonderful job the entire team did on my small bathroom. They answered all of my many questions with great patience. When I made a change that increased the cost and extended the timeline, they sat down with me to review everything before moving forward. The crew worked hard every day from start to finish. They asked questions whenever they needed clarification and made sure to show me the progress at the end of each day. The craftsmanship, especially the tile work, was outstanding. The cuts were incredibly precise, and the round cuts in the tile were true works of art. I would highly recommend Golden Heights Remodeling for any renovation project. When the time comes to remodel my kitchen, they will definitely be my first call. read more

This project was large and included a full kitchen expansion and upgrade, stair and hallway remodel, closet relocation, and new flooring throughout. I felt comfortable from the first meeting that they could handle the project, and they exceeded my expectations. Everyone who performed the work was trustworthy and showed great craftsmanship. Even when we encountered some challenges with the plumbing reconfiguration, the team found solutions to make the remodel a success. I highly recommend this company and will use them again for any future remodeling work. read more

My kitchen ceiling would leak following heavy rains, and I suspected I had little to no attic insulation. The existing flat roof was beyond repair, so Sean came out to discuss replacement options. He was professional, informative, and down-to-Earth and explained the pros and cons of modified bitumen torch down vs. TPO, batt (fiberglass) insulation vs. poly iso boards, and he even quoted a new pitched roof. My wife and I ultimately decided to reslope along with 60-mil TPO and 4-inch poly iso insulation boards. Permitting went smoothly and work commenced quickly. Almost immediately the demo crew discovered several unexpected roof layers that had accumulated over decades of previous ownership, and Sean graciously charged us for removal of only a single additional layer. The original plan was to reuse the existing downspouts. However, due to the thickness of the TPO and insulation boards, another change order was necessary to purchase seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts. Sean kept me up to date throughout the process, sending daily photos from an overhead drone and answering our many questions regarding structures and materials. Upon project completion some damage to the existing skylight was discovered. Sean generously offered to replace the skylight free of charge, going so far as to order a custom model to fit the non-standard opening dimensions. In retrospect, we should have better heeded Sean's advice to expect some debris. Although Golden Heights cleaned up all material outside, I spent days afterwards removing dust, dirt, and debris that fell through to the garage. Tarps over essentials instead of packing up would be recommended. In the month or so since then we've experienced multiple rains without any issues. The new slope, gutters, and downspouts channel water flawlessly. Despite the current heat wave, the bright, white TPO and insulation are keeping the house around 15 °F cooler than the outside without any active cooling. And we've gotten compliments from neighbors on the implemented changes. All in all, I highly recommend Golden Heights Remodeling for roofing projects both small and large. Their crews are professional, and Sean keeps you informed every step of the process. read more

Golden Heights did an outstanding job on my bathroom remodel. Their craftsmanship was top-notch, they finished on time, and communication was smooth and clear. I'm truly happy with the results! read more

The team was AMAZING! They finished our basement, including adding a full bathroom, replaced all of the floors in our house, and painted the entryway. They were easy to communicate with and flexible when I added last minute requests, like changing our light fixtures and fixing our gate. They run their business with integrity. Our final contract ended up being several thousand dollars less than the initial estimate, even though we had already agreed to move forward at the original cost. Right before I was about to send the final payment, they made a few more adjustments and saved us a couple hundred dollars more. The crew was also super attentive to my dogs anytime they were at the house while we were gone. They would greet them in the morning so they knew who was there and even made sure they had water if they were outside. read more

We had our kitchen, laundry room, and dining room completely gutted because of a major leak. Between living in half of our house and dealing with the insurance company, it was an incredibly stressful experience, but the entire team made the process so much easier from start to finish. The transformation was incredible, and we couldn't be happier with the final result. read more

I had an initial consultation with Golden Heights. It lasted for well over an hour, and I provided them with architectural drawings for what I envisioned with our kitchen and living room area. I was told they wanted to set up a second visit with my husband. I was then called to set up a second appointment with my husband. I told them that my husband does not want a second visit until we have a quote. The work was well laid out. It was not inventing anything new no moving of walls a simple, straightforward remodel nothing custom. I have not yet heard back from them. As the primary decision-maker and a female, I find this very disheartening. My husband wants to see everyone's quotes and then we can work as a team to make a decision. It's me who will be there onsite so he trusts my decision making process. It felt like Golden Heights did not. read more

We got our guest and master bathrooms renovated. Our sales contact was amazing. They listened to our needs, provided helpful suggestions, and worked to get the project completed ahead of schedule. They responded to all our questions in a timely and professional manner. We made a couple of changes after signing the contract, and they were very accommodating. Our installer was very thorough in their work and went out of their way to make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. One of the shower heads developed a leak due to a faulty part, and they even came out over the weekend to replace it! Everyone involved was great, and the entire experience was wonderful. In summer/fall of 2024, we worked with Neryah at Golden Heights Remodeling to complete a kitchen renovation + all new flooring on the ground level of our home. Our priorities in selecting a contractor were: - A licensed bonded contractor company with integrity, excellent communication, and highly skilled labor A company that could stick to a schedule (we have two young children so we couldn't be without our kitchen for too long) A company that would fit within our budget A company that would be able to do everything properly to code and pass inspection A company that would understand our creative vision and be able to bring it to life We interviewed 15 contractor companies before ultimately selecting Golden Heights. Talking with Neryah, we had a sense that he would bring the most intention, detail, and value to the project. We were happy to find that Golden Heights indeed delivered on every single one of our priority items, and more. We even ended up extending the scope of the project multiple times because we felt confident in the work they were doing and the value it contributed to our home. Our home's original kitchen had a generous square footage but the layout was poorly utilized. I came up with a new design that involved moving an existing patio door which allowed us to create a U shape kitchen instead of L shape. Golden Heights provided an architect who drew up the plans and submitted them for engineering and city permit. Neryah worked with me on suggesting sources for buying the materials needed within budget, and some I sourced myself. One of the most impressive parts of the process was the 3D rendering of our design. It almost EXACTLY matches our real life kitchen! Throughout the process we were impressed with the consistently high quality of work and the ability to make our vision become a reality. We even had to make design pivots several times, and once construction started we had occasional setbacks with material delays, inevitable accidents here and there. Each time something of the sort arose, Golden Heights responded promptly in resolving the issue. Their communication was clear and HONEST. We especially appreciated working with Esther and Neryah. I've included some before/after photos of our kitchen. If you are considering a home renovation, you can't go wrong with working with Golden Heights Remodeling! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Golden Heights Remodeling to restore my bathroom after having to demolition my old bathroom due to a water leak. I was without a functioning bathroom and I was very fortunate to be assigned excellent project managers in Ariel and Laura, and Enrique. This was my first experience in working with contractors and I had so many worries after watching contractor nightmare videos on Youtube and Instagram. Working with Golden Heights, Ariel, Laura, and Enrique put any worry I had to rest. Communication, quality, and punctuality were prioritized and implemented throughout the project. In addition, they helped prioritize getting my bathroom reconstructed as fast as possible, and the project took just a little over 2 weeks. I am incredibly happy with the work and quality and I would highly recommend Golden Heights for any future remodels. read more

We first worked with Golden Heights in 2025 for an upgrade of our second floor bedrooms and bathrooms. The final product was outstanding, and the entire process was so easy that we decided to use them again this year for a much more extensive remodel of our laundry room, kitchen, living and dining areas, primary bathroom, and bedroom. Once again, the results were outstanding! They are honest, organized, detail oriented, and genuinely care about their clients being happy with the finished product. They also brought great ideas to the project that we never would have thought of ourselves. The project started on time and was completed within the timeframe we were originally given. Any issues that came up along the way were handled quickly and efficiently without any hassle. They regularly stopped by to check on the progress and made sure communication between us and the subcontractors stayed clear throughout the project. Overall, we had another great experience and would not hesitate to work with them in the future! read more

After a cracked plumbing fitting in our upstairs shower ruined the ceiling of our office below, we decided to hire a contractor to gut our shower area, replace all plumbing and update shower and bath with tile and all new fixtures. We interviewed 3 general contractors for the job. Golden Heights was the only one that showed up on time. GH came in approximately $10K cheaper than the other 2 contractors (however, it was discussed that GH would not provide any building materials, whereas, the other contractors would). As we've experienced leaks before, we're very familiar with the patching of drywall. My husband explained that to fix this, the entire room (not large) would have to be re-skimmed and textured to achieve desirable results. Jonathan, the project manager, told us this would all take about 2 weeks to complete. We signed the contract and work started. Workers arrived on time and demolished the affected areas. Unfortunately, they accidentally demolished our marble windowsill, as well, and did not alert us. We had to discover this on our own. Thankfully, they offered solutions to replace the broken windowsill. At this point, it was conveyed to them to retain old plumbing fixtures and put them to the side. The next day, they threw away one of the plumbing fixtures. We reiterated this and reminded them not to throw away any others. The next day, they did the opposite. There was no explanation as to why these were continued to be thrown away. I believe it was lack of internal communication amongst the company. As agreed upon, we separately purchased new bathroom fixtures for GH to install. GH head worker, Lucio, installed the shower valve we had provided them and mentioned to us that the valve is an odd set and allows cold and hot water to mix all the time which is not ideal. Subsequently, our other showers were running cold. GH purchased the proper valve at no extra charge and installed it. At some point, Jonathan "realized" that we had also purchased new tub filling fixtures and asked us why. We explained it was for the tub that would be re-tiled as well. He then told us the company wasn't aware they would be doing anything with the tub. This is pretty absurd as when work was initially discussed, we explained that the shower and the tub, being connected, needed to be treated as one unit. To do one and not the other would look like an afterthought. Jonathan acted like this was all news to them and informed us he could do it but would have to give us an amended quote. We looked at our contract (our fault that we did not read it super closely) and sure enough the tub, which we had discussed at length during the interview, was not made mention of in the initial contract. We reiterated to Jonathan that this needed to happen and he added an extra $2,000 to our cost to include the bathtub. The drywall on our ceiling where the leak had taken place had to be done 4 different times. We considered outsourcing a specialist in this area but stood with GHR. What a nightmare! Long story short, we would not recommend Golden Heights Remodeling. read more

I paid a large deposit on a project and provided them with a set of plans. They did not do any construction. They will not refund my large deposit after multiple requests. Based on my experience, I am not recommending them due to their unprofessionalism and lack of communication. I also found public records of legal disputes in Contra Costa County involving this company which concerned me. As a senior citizen on a fixed income, I felt particularly frustrated and insulted by this situation. Its been nearly a year and they have not returned my money. read more

We contracted with Golden Heights Remodeling in spring 2024 to fully remodel two full bathrooms (one of them a primary bathroom) and a half bathroom. We also wanted them to update the ceiling lighting in our kitchen. We chose Golden Heights because they had the most thorough, detailed estimate and the most reasonable cost. Work started at the end of June and was completed at the end of September. The completed bathrooms and the improved kitchen lighting look amazing and really boost the ambience our home. Alexis and David helped us to choose the finishes/fixtures/tile/flooring and explained the process to us as it progressed. I had my roof repaired by Golden Heights in April 2023. I was in a bad situation, as I had serious damage from the major storms in early 2023 and there was a major leak in the back bedroom. I had a couple of recommended trusted roofers from friends whom I contacted, but neither could do the repairs until late May, which sadly did not work for me. I reached out to Golden Heights and received quick responses in setting up an initial appointment. I decided to go ahead with the project, as they were able to start work immediately and their price was fair. I worked with Project Manager, Johnathan. Johnathan was responsive initially after I signed the contract and made my payment, but as the project went on in the next couple of weeks, I was not informed of when work was to be done. I was fine with that as I know due to the recent storms, roofers are super busy! However, a couple weeks passed and things just went downhill. I was not informed of concrete dates of when work would be done /completed. Finally when it was time for me to make the "final payment," Johnathan contacted me and informed that his workers completed the job. I had no idea because no one showed up at the house on the day Johanthan claimed, but at this point, I just want this to be over with~I was 7 months pregnant and was working with realtors to sell my house. I made the final payment and moved on. Then it rained and i saw damage in the living room walls. It took emails and calls and texts to the project manager to finally get someone to come out to examine the roof ( see pictures). A worker came out and reported that a part of the roof was not sealed properly and he sealed it and the respnse I got was "Sorry." I was under so much stress, I just let it go because I had to get the house ready for sale. I had to pay someone else for further repairs and worse, no follow up from the company. This review is old cause life happens and I didn't have the time to dwell on this with a newborn. When my realtors ask for a trusted roofer, I declined to recommend Golden Heights. The follow through and lack of care in their roof work was disappointing. I'm sure they do good work in other aspects, but my experience with them was poor. My recommendation to the company is that doing a great job and following through is imperative because so many referrals are made through word of mouth. read more

We did a major remodel of our garage into a living space using Golden Heights Remodeling. Carmit was our project manager, and Francisco our foreman. In the fall of 2024, we decided that we wanted to renovate our home, specifically the kitchen which hadn't been touched since it was built in the 1970s. When David from Golden Heights Remodeling came to our home to discuss the project, we were impressed with the vision he had for not just the kitchen but the entire first floor. We had a half wall between our kitchen and living room that we wanted to remove but it was structural and David and his team came up with a plan to take it down, opening up our space in a remarkable way. The main reasons we chose to go with Golden Heights was because of David's vision and his upfront approach to what could and couldn't be done. We trusted him and are so happy that we did! Our entire first floor was gutted down to the studs and they put in new structural beams to account for the removed wall. His crew was super nice, friendly and trustworthy and did stellar work, including cleaning up after themselves daily, which wasn't an easy task during the demo period. David kept us updated on the process daily, with videos and photos of what was being done. Things went smoothly and within the time frame expected! David was available to us throughout the project and very responsive when there was anything we wanted or needed. Most importantly the end result is just beautiful! and functional! We have more counter space and cabinet space then we could have imagined. We were so happy with the work Golden Heights did for us, we went ahead and had them take care of work we needed on the exterior house as well which included exterior painting, gutter work, and the replacement of damaged siding. It's like we live in a entirely new house and we are loving it! We are very grateful we found David and Golden Heights Remodeling. We recommend them with the upmost confidence! read more

Nevo and the team at Golden Heights Remodeling did an amazing job on my partial bathroom remodel (replaced some subflooring, new tiles and baseboard, and installed a new toilet, fan, vanity, mirror, and light). Their quality of work is fantastic and I love my new-ish bathroom! I also appreciate the prep work they did to protect my house and the things in it while they worked (taped down some paper walkways, covered furniture in plastic). Before starting the project, Nevo was also very patient in answering all my questions about pricing since it was important that I stay on budget. And it was helpful to see the updated scope of work the two times we made changes so we were both on the same page about everything. I highly recommend Golden Heights Remodeling. Eran and his team did a fantastic job and were so great to work with. Prior to hiring them, we got quotes from several companies, including Green Bay and Everlast. We chose Golden Heights because Eran had the best communication, which was very important to us. This is our first home purchase and remodel project and we had a tight deadline so we really needed someone who would be reliable and someone we could trust. I'm so glad we chose them because Eran was very knowledgeable and remained consistent with his communication throughout the entire remodel process. He was fair with pricing and attentive to our requests. He made sure that his team completed our remodel before our deadline. Our deadline was crucial to us because we were paying rent for an apartment while waiting for the remodel of our house to finish and we are expecting a baby. After the remodel was completed, Eran did a final walkthrough with us to make sure we were happy with everything and did some touch ups afterwards. Thanks to Eran and his team, we moved into our newly updated beautiful home two months before our baby arrives. Perfect timing. They did an amazing job! They updated the kitchen, added recessed lighting, painted walls and ceilings, stained the hardwood floors a more neutral color, updated the light fixtures and electrical outlets, replaced the tiles and updated the fireplace and guest bathroom. I LOVE our new modern home. I'm in awe of the transformation (see pics). Thank you so much Eran and to your team for your hard work! Our master bathroom was extremely small, and outdated. We had two bids to remodel our bathroom and since it was our very first home renovation, we wanted to make the right choice . When meeting with David he was very knowledgeable and he expressed to us that he'd be very hands on seeing the project through from A to Z. This was all we needed to hear to have the confidence in our decision to go with David and Golden Heights remodeling.  Fast-forward 3 weeks, we could not be happier with the work David & team have done. Yes! Only 3 weeks which exceeded my expectations. The team worked fast but were also very conscious of the working space. They carefully laid out tarp and cardboard to minimize debris, ensured no hazardous items were in reach which was extremely important with our little ones around, and they always arrived happy to work.  David checked up on us frequently because he wanted to ensure we were satisfied with each passing phase. He'd be accessible at all hours of the day and would connect us with trusted vendors (with zero bias). If we decided to make changes at any given point, he and his team were accommodating without skipping a beat. David truly cared about us and we are so thankful he brought our vision to life. We are extremely happy with our new spa-like bathroom. We definitely would recommend David and his team for any project especially if you want it done right!   See before/after pics. read more
