My kitchen ceiling would leak following heavy rains, and I suspected I had little to no attic insulation. The existing flat roof was beyond repair, so Sean came out to discuss replacement options. He was professional, informative, and down-to-Earth and explained the pros and cons of modified bitumen torch down vs. TPO, batt (fiberglass) insulation vs. poly iso boards, and he even quoted a new pitched roof. My wife and I ultimately decided to reslope along with 60-mil TPO and 4-inch poly iso insulation boards. Permitting went smoothly and work commenced quickly. Almost immediately the demo crew discovered several unexpected roof layers that had accumulated over decades of previous ownership, and Sean graciously charged us for removal of only a single additional layer. The original plan was to reuse the existing downspouts. However, due to the thickness of the TPO and insulation boards, another change order was necessary to purchase seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts. Sean kept me up to date throughout the process, sending daily photos from an overhead drone and answering our many questions regarding structures and materials. Upon project completion some damage to the existing skylight was discovered. Sean generously offered to replace the skylight free of charge, going so far as to order a custom model to fit the non-standard opening dimensions. In retrospect, we should have better heeded Sean's advice to expect some debris. Although Golden Heights cleaned up all material outside, I spent days afterwards removing dust, dirt, and debris that fell through to the garage. Tarps over essentials instead of packing up would be recommended. In the month or so since then we've experienced multiple rains without any issues. The new slope, gutters, and downspouts channel water flawlessly. Despite the current heat wave, the bright, white TPO and insulation are keeping the house around 15 °F cooler than the outside without any active cooling. And we've gotten compliments from neighbors on the implemented changes. All in all, I highly recommend Golden Heights Remodeling for roofing projects both small and large. I had an initial consultation with Golden Heights. It lasted for well over an hour, and I provided them with architectural drawings for what I envisioned with our kitchen and living room area. I was told they wanted to set up a second visit with my husband. I was then called to set up a second appointment with my husband. I told them that my husband does not want a second visit until we have a quote. The work was well laid out. It was not inventing anything new no moving of walls a simple, straightforward remodel nothing custom. I have not yet heard back from them. In summer/fall of 2024, we worked with Neryah at Golden Heights Remodeling to complete a kitchen renovation + all new flooring on the ground level of our home. After a cracked plumbing fitting in our upstairs shower ruined the ceiling of our office below, we decided to hire a contractor to gut our shower area, replace all plumbing and update shower and bath with tile and all new fixtures. We interviewed 3 general contractors for the job. Golden Heights was the only one that showed up on time. GH came in approximately $10K cheaper than the other 2 contractors (however, it was discussed that GH would not provide any building materials, whereas, the other contractors would). As we've experienced leaks before, we're very familiar with the patching of drywall. My husband explained that to fix this, the entire room (not large) would have to be re-skimmed and textured to achieve desirable results. Jonathan, the project manager, told us this would all take about 2 weeks to complete. We signed the contract and work started. Workers arrived on time and demolished the affected areas. Unfortunately, they accidentally demolished our marble windowsill, as well, and did not alert us. We had to discover this on our own. Thankfully, they offered solutions to replace the broken windowsill. At this point, it was conveyed to them to retain old plumbing fixtures and put them to the side. The next day, they threw away one of the plumbing fixtures. We reiterated this and reminded them not to throw away any others. The next day, they did the opposite. There was no explanation as to why these were continued to be thrown away. I believe it was lack of internal communication amongst the company. As agreed upon, we separately purchased new bathroom fixtures for GH to install. GH head worker, Lucio, installed the shower valve we had provided them and mentioned to us that the valve is an odd set and allows cold and hot water to mix all the time which is not ideal. Subsequently, our other showers were running cold. GH purchased the proper valve at no extra charge and installed it. At some point, Jonathan "realized" that we had also purchased new tub filling fixtures and asked us why. We explained it was for the tub that would be re-tiled as well. He then told us the company wasn't aware they would be doing anything with the tub. This is pretty absurd as when work was initially discussed, we explained that the shower and the tub, being connected, needed to be treated as one unit. To do one and not the other would look like an afterthought. Jonathan acted like this was all news to them and informed us he could do it but would have to give us an amended quote. We looked at our contract (our fault that we did not read it super closely) and sure enough the tub, which we had discussed at length during the interview, was not made mention of in the initial contract. We reiterated to Jonathan that this needed to happen and he added an extra $2,000 to our cost to include the bathtub. The drywall on our ceiling where the leak had taken place had to be done 4 different times. We considered outsourcing a specialist in this area but stood with GHR. What a nightmare! Long story short, we would not recommend Golden Heights Remodeling. read more

Based on my experience, I am not recommending them due to their unprofessionalism and lack of communication. I had my roof repaired by Golden Heights in April 2023. I was in a bad situation, as I had serious damage from the major storms in early 2023 and there was a major leak in the back bedroom. I had a couple of recommended trusted roofers from friends whom I contacted, but neither could do the repairs until late May, which sadly did not work for me. I reached out to Golden Heights and received quick responses in setting up an initial appointment. I decided to go ahead with the project, as they were able to start work immediately and their price was fair. I worked with Project Manager, Johnathan. Johnathan was responsive initially after I signed the contract and made my payment, but as the project went on in the next couple of weeks, I was not informed of when work was to be done. I was fine with that as I know due to the recent storms, roofers are super busy! However, a couple weeks passed and things just went downhill. I was not informed of concrete dates of when work would be done /completed. Finally when it was time for me to make the "final payment," Johnathan contacted me and informed that his workers completed the job. I had no idea because no one showed up at the house on the day Johanthan claimed, but at this point, I just want this to be over with~I was 7 months pregnant and was working with realtors to sell my house. I made the final payment and moved on. Then it rained and i saw damage in the living room walls. It took emails and calls and texts to the project manager to finally get someone to come out to examine the roof ( see pictures). A worker came out and reported that a part of the roof was not sealed properly and he sealed it and the respnse I got was "Sorry." I was under so much stress, I just let it go because I had to get the house ready for sale. I had to pay someone else for further repairs and worse, no follow up from the company. This review is old cause life happens and I didn't have the time to dwell on this with a newborn. When my realtors ask for a trusted roofer, I declined to recommend Golden Heights. The follow through and lack of care in their roof work was disappointing. I'm sure they do good work in other aspects, but my experience with them was poor. My recommendation to the company is that doing a great job and following through is imperative because so many referrals are made through word of mouth. read more

In the fall of 2024, we decided that we wanted to renovate our home, specifically the kitchen which hadn't been touched since it was built in the 1970s. When David from Golden Heights Remodeling came to our home to discuss the project, we were impressed with the vision he had for not just the kitchen but the entire first floor. We had a half wall between our kitchen and living room that we wanted to remove but it was structural and David and his team came up with a plan to take it down, opening up our space in a remarkable way. The main reasons we chose to go with Golden Heights was because of David's vision and his upfront approach to what could and couldn't be done. We trusted him and are so happy that we did! Our entire first floor was gutted down to the studs and they put in new structural beams to account for the removed wall. Our master bathroom was extremely small, and outdated. We had two bids to remodel our bathroom and since it was our very first home renovation, we wanted to make the right choice . Our relationship with David began when Golden Heights remodeled/finished our garage for us. This included a new garage door opener, new storage crawl space, floor coating, insulation, drywall, replacement of standard water heater with a tankless water heater, recessed lighting, and a new door into the house. He also helped get in contact with cabinet makers for storage. He his reliable, communicative, and enjoyable to work with.
