The mess they left in my yard after they "cleaned". I would continue to find nails and cigarette butts in my plants.
John I.

My wife and I are not only unhappy with the low quality of work Tom and Bay home remodeling provided, we are disgusted by how we were treated, lied to, and find how they treated our home to be VERY DISRESPECTFUL. We paid the high cost to learn that they are NOT the people they claimed to be. They made no effort to show care in their work or for the materials we purchased. Not only do we have issues with flooring, painting, electrical and plumbing, we also need to completely redo our shower that we paid extra for. I DEEPLY REGRET hiring Bay Home Remodeling. - Paint drippings underneath all baseboards on brand new flooring. - They attempted to protect the floor with cheap paper that ended up staining our flooring red. Instead of replacing the protection, they decided not to protect flooring at all. - Claimed to have replaced sub flooring in hallway. Found that to be false, when repairing. - Paid extra for installing walk in shower. Has to be ripped out and redone because of loose subfloor (cut open by contractor, failed to secure properly) and poor installation of shower pan (no silicone, mortar) and improper installation of glass door. All causing water to seep into wall. - Vinyl floor started to fail (separate and crack) just after one week due to poor installation. Tal, our project manager, said it was "normal". - Installed electrical wires without using connectors (code violation). These were done after inspection. - Any repairs seem to fail. We have nails that have popped up in our stairs and we are worried it'll hurt our kids. - Walked in to their foreman and his worker drinking beer in my home. Also found out they pulled out a gardening stick from the backyard to stir our paint. This list goes on and we haven't even realized the full extent. Every week I find something new and it's really upsetting to think of all the money we paid, just to be ripped off. If you are considering this company, I recommend you to look somewhere else. I'm starting to feel a lot of their reviews are fake or paid for.

Living room/dining area (from a short ceiling to a tall, vaulted ceiling)

Bay Home Remodeling is the best! If you are considering a remodel/renovation, do yourself a favor and hire them. I am so grateful we found Tom (Tamir) and Bay Home Remodeling for our home renovation. Tom, Edwin, and the crew managed a huge project for us which included: - replacing all the floors in our house - changing the layout in the upstairs - raising and vaulting our ceiling from ~10 feet tall to ~20 feet tall at it's max height - expanding the kitchen - constructing a new bathroom - replacing half of our roof - replacing old windows and adding in a new windows/skylights ...The list goes on and on. We had actually hired another company to create our architectural and structural engineering plans, but I really wish we had known about Bay Home Remodeling first so we could have worked with them from the very beginning. They really do stand out among their competition as very professional. Tom and his crew are a great mix of knowledgeable, organized, attentive, hard-working, motivated, skilled... all the things you'd want in your construction team. They don't just do the construction, they also are great project managers, paying attention to deadlines and managing multiple things at once. They were also very accurate in the construction timeline they gave us, finishing exactly within the original range of time they gave us. These guys are pros. I seriously cannot recommend them enough. The before and after photos really don't do their work justice (it's difficult to capture the tall ceilings). Bay Home Remodeling helped to transform our home from a kind of dark, unwelcoming space to a home we hope to live in for decades. I think all construction projects can be stressful, but if you want to experience as little stress as possible, do yourselves a favor and contact Bay Home Remodeling. I will also note that we had originally gotten quotes from other companies. Bay Home Remodeling is a great value for the amount and quality of work.

We hired Bay Home Remodeling to remodel both of our bathrooms, and the results are stunning! Tom guided us through the process, helped us choose materials, and ensured everything was completed on time. The team was professional, clean, and efficient. Highly recommended

Checked on a redo on my son's floor and saw this. Tell me you wouldn't be UPSET! How UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Review INCOMPETENT, DISRESPECTFUL, & UNPROFESSIONAL!! It hasn't been a year yet since we moved into our house and we were promised a Beautiful and well Built family home, but it's the total opposite. Their work is UGLY. Shoot, you would think that with the amount of money we paid these guys, we would come to a place where we can enjoy and relax, however all we feel is anger and stress by finding things that we're not done properly or well thought of. Not only were things were built HORRIBLY, there are so many issues that we came across such as creaking noises in our shower pan, soft spots and split floors, not painting our walls with the amount of coats listed in our contract, spilled paint seen between baseboards and floors, not using proper cleaning agents to ensure no paint gets on our floors. ( I'm still removing some paint till this day that we're left with), loose screws popping out of our bullnose trims on our stairs, leaving nails and dirt on my son's bed. The list goes on. To top off in this bad review, when you try to contact them to fix the issues, they will GHOST you. Expect NO response. The last time I spoke to their employee, Tom he yelled at me for calling out their mistakes because their worker told us things weren't done correctly. I'm still waiting for a response for them to redo the incomplete painting that their last "crew member" did back in November and a few other things they need to come back and fix. Again, still no response. It's January 2025. Like I said, UNPROFESSIONAL. As a mother of two little ones and who works full time, I'm already exhausted enough. For anyone looking into remodeling in general, SAVE your mental health, time, and money. You don't want to come home every day stressed looking at their sh*tty ass work.

Kitchen/Living Room after - 25ft structural beam
Sonny S.

I worked with Bay Home Remodel to redo most of my house which included remodeling my full kitchen (including 25ft structural beam), my bedrooms/bathrooms, floors, windows, minibar, and fireplace. I interviewed nearly 10 contractors (different companies) and ended up picking Tom Edi for the job. This was the single best decision that I made in the entire process. The whole project ran very smooth and seamless. We had minimal delays and all of the worksmanship had high quality. The things I liked specifically about working with Bay Home Remodel is their knowledge in the space and the residential codes, their ability to specialized in a wide variety of work (no contracting out), and how they recommend/suggest ways to improve the existing project. Coordination was very smooth, especially the fact that Tom laid out the schedule for my wife and I. In addition we were able to create a group chat (text) which allowed us a direct line of communication any time something came up on either side. I am the type of person who is very meticulous and wanted everything done a specific way, and Tom's style was perfect for me. He is able to understand the customer's need and align them with the ideal outcomes for the overall project. I highly recommend working with Bay Home Remodel for your project.

This review is long overdue, but I definitely think that Gal and his team deserve the praise. My partner and I purchased this home in December 2021. We knew right away that we would have to remodel the bathroom because it was tight, dark, and it was the only full bathroom in the house. I called/messaged at least ten contractors and got bids from three. Gal came in two days before Christmas to give me his bid, which was the most competitive price. (By, like...$6000). In all honesty, I knew that I would hire Bay Home Remodeling before I even met Gal because the person I spoke to on the phone, Ernesto, was the kindest, most informative person I spoke to out of the companies I messaged about our remodel. A lot of other companies clearly care more about higher end remodels in high-priced homes with high-priced finishes and are kind of meh about those of us who just want to refresh our space and not sacrifice on design, without doing anything to completely blow the bank. Gal and his team started at the end of January and ended almost at the end of February. There were some hiccups with leaks and whatnot, but Gal and Oscar were quick to correct any misgivings on their end. Gal gave me direction as to where to find nice, but fairly priced finishes, and was communicative about what he thought would work in a space and what wouldn't work in a space. I am so, so, so happy about the finished product. There's not a day that goes by that I don't look at our bathroom as such a relaxing haven. And it's all thanks to Gal and Bay Home Remodeling!

My number one priority when looking for contractors was clear communication in all aspects of the project, and I'm very happy to report that Lion Group Construction did not disappoint. I came in with a vision and budget in mind, and Udi helped me figure out what was actually feasible, what would put me way over budget, and suggestions to work around the limitations of our space. When the team hit roadblocks during construction due to past owners' questionable DIY methods and the age of the home, they were quick to text/call and let me know what was up, how they planned to deal with it, and always waited for confirmation from me before proceeding with anything that would differ from the original plan we'd made. If I had questions or noticed small details that I wanted to change in the midst of the work, they responded quickly and kindly. I was never worried that I would be ghosted or ignored, or that the work would be delayed as the project went on, which I know is something that unfortunately happens to many homeowners!! I'm grateful to Lion Group Construction for alleviating much of the stress of a big reno (the decision fatigue was real) and transforming the bathroom from a dank and dim space into the calming, well-lit one of my dreams. From the design process to communication and his project manager/workers, everyone was a true professional. No kitchen horror stories and they finished exactly on time. There of course are small things that came up in communication between what we decided with Shawn (keeping our dishwasher) and what the workers on site knew about (tried to give it away 2x), but that is common in any project, and most important to us is every small thing we noticed/flagged was fixed without question. We've already referred Shawn to anyone who asks. He took our space from a very dated 1960s vibe to modern but with character, and a design that matches our ranch style home. Thank you Shawn for making our house feel like us!

Everything needed to be torn down and replaced. The wiring was old. The plumbing was leaking. And the flooring needed to be completely replaced. They produced an estimate. And came in on budget. The Great (+2 stars) ==========…read more * The structural work: Our home is on a great, new, solid foundation (with shear walls), so we feel as safe as we can be in our home for an earthquake! * Our basement is also now more usable. * Drainage: There is now drainage around the foundation and under the basement slab, so we are no longer worried about our basement flooding! * The working crew were very friendly and considerate. The Bad (-1 star): ========== * The electrical subcontractor was quite bad. The electricians didn't install the dryer outlet properly (one conductor came loose before I first used it), most outlets they installed are loose (they give when pushing in a plug), and they installed a used, old (not LED compatible) dimmer for the LED lights they installed. Also, the owner yelled at his team a lot. * The plumbing subcontractor was bad, too. They misdrilled several holes, damaging the interior of the home. They didn't seal around exterior penetrations into the house. They didn't put a cover over the branch of a wye that was no longer needed. They wouldn't do anything about the loss of hot water pressure in a bathroom faucet that occurred after they moved some plumbing around (I ended up having to disconnect and disassemble the hot water valve myself and I found a piece of silicone clogged in there). They over-glued the drain of the laundry supply box making it nearly impossible to remove the cap, and they lost the o-rings on my faucet aerator. The Ugly (-2 stars): ========== * They overlooked details in the plans about where walls and doors should go, and denied responsibility since they weren't in the structural engineer's plans, which they opted to not have updated with the revisions I told them about. This lead to a sewer pipe being installed in an inconvenient location (it went through the foundation, so it can't be moved), a structural wall that was almost built in the wrong place (I caught it while they were digging the footing), and a room that was built with no doorway (they had to cut some framing to make the opening). * The pricing/scope was negligent at best, but I'd put it closer to misleading or deceptive. During the initial visits, they talked about all the things they would do (including putting up framing, drywall, and insulation), and then sent over an estimate that I accepted. I didn't realize until halfway through the project that the estimate didn't include many of the things they talked about (including the framing, drywall, and insulation); those apparently would be part of "Phase 2," not included in the price of the first estimate. I had chosen E&F over another estimate that was less expensive even though it did explicitly contain the "additional" scope. I was also surprised that the electrical and plumbing (most of which was necessary to get them out of the way for the structural work) was billed separately; i.e., an unexpected additional expense. * They chose to rebuild a segment of stairs (rather than just adding two steps at the bottom, per the plans), which ended up having insufficient clearance with an overhang halfway down. They tried to convince me there was no new problem because they built them the same as before (but the run of the new stairs was one inch longer, causing the 4th step down to be 4 inches closer to the overhang) and resisted remedying the issue. They just ended up taking a sawzall to trim the overhang -- a joist -- which I just have to hope doesn't compromise any structural integrity! Further, they didn't even finish the stairs (sand and seal); "Test your staining skills," they said. * They ghosted before Phase 2. As the structural work was reaching completion, we were going back and forth on scope for Phase 2. However, when the structural work was actually completed, they just stopped communicating, left dirt and demo debris they left on our driveway for a month, then disappeared. There were lots of things they removed to get out of the way (like several segments of fence) but didn't put back. I could easily add 3x more issues and details, but this review is already too long.

While the final result was decent, getting there involved a series of careless mistakes, lack of attention to detail, and poor communication. The project manager and foreman consistently over-promised and under-delivered, missing promised dates without informing us and often being unresponsive. The foreman was competent when present, but he was frequently pulled away to other jobs, leading to a lack of supervision and quality control. This caused us to spend a lot of time supervising the crew ourselves to ensure they didn't make careless mistakes, which felt like the opposite of the "trust" they claim to build. Some of the mistakes were basic but significant. They hooked up our new toilet to hot water, installed door trim out-of-level so that we are now unable to install doors, and did sloppy tile work that we had to ask them to begrudgingly redo. When issues arose, they often tried to fix things hastily, for example trying to fix the hot-water-toilet screw up by installing a flexible sink hose behind drywall instead of proper piping. Even the installation of a pocket door frame had to be redone from scratch after drywall had gone up, because the crew hadn't followed manufacturer instructions and left half the screws sitting on the floor. Throughout the project, we found ourselves having to step in and correct things or remind them to finish tasks they promised, which was both frustrating and time-consuming. By the end, we did not trust them at all to do things properly. Despite the challenges, there were a few positives. The interior designer they included with the project was fantastic, and they stuck to the original budget without adding surprise costs, except for one reasonable change order. Overall they are genuinely nice people in general and were not trying to rip us off. They did try to fix the problems we identified. However, these few good points didn't make up for the overall lack of quality control and communication, which is why we cannot recommend Rhino Builders.
