I'm a new homeowner and Stephanie was great in acknowledging all my new homeowner concerns. Susan was great to work with: planning out the kitchen, keeping the feel of my house into the new kitchen. I had them do a total kitchen remodel: taking down a wall, expanding out the kitchen floor plan. The only thing I kept were my major appliances. Alex and his crew are beyond fabulous. Alex is so meticulous, constantly checked in with me during the entire process to make sure I understood what was happening, what was coming up, and if I was happy with the current state. Alex was always available for questions/concerns. From beginning, during, and to the end it was Alex and his crew. I never felt like they were working on another project. The kitchen was completed on time and if there were any hiccups, I didn't know about it. There wasn't any hidden costs or additional costs at the end. I ordered a new hood vent for my stove that needed to be installed, but it wasn't a basic install. The vent needed to be expanded in size meaning my wall and cabinets needed to be cut. The exterior vent that needed to be cut was also on the 2nd floor which was another fun twist. Omri was very easy to coordinate with and sent Alex & his team to do the job. At one point there were three guys working on it and they took care of it in no time. They even did a great job cleaning up after they were done which was a nice touch. I found them since they're also working on a much larger remodel for my parents. So far everything is going great over there and I can leave an update when that job is completed. read more

Unprofessional, sloppy and use substandard products. I didn't realize how difficult it was to deal with these guys until they left. It was huge sense of relief- good riddance to bad rubbish. Oct 7, 2021, an update to comment on the thoughtless apathetic response Omri- Renova Builder gave to my initial review. For the benefit of anyone considering to work with you guys, let me summarize what you are saying in your response to my 1 star review: -the workmanship in these pictures is what Renova stands by. -staining decks in wet and foggy areas is outside of your area of expertise. -anyone who would use you for deck stain should expect their deck to look the pictures within 16mo (it has not been 1.5 years). -people with decks should spend to stain their deck annually......how much would that cost for a 250sqft area? 1k? None of the above is my "assumption" or "opinion". It is a direct inference from your response. While the pictures of my deck is proof of your poor work product, your response to my review is a glimpse of your (un)professionalism. I know it is hard to run business so I have always preferred to give benefit of doubt when my experience with anyone is not good. My deck did not look like this overnight, it has been pretty rubbish looking for several months, but it is now at a point where I need to get it fixed so that it does not rot. This makes me furious so here I am writing facts. Firstly, sorry for the delay in writing this after 16mo, I didn't know there was a deadline. Facts don't change because of the time taken for someone to write a review. Omri if you want to stand by this workmanship that is absolutely your choice. We have an unpermitted 2nd-story deck which we wanted to bring up to code, or remove. We were so grateful for our meeting with Thomas. He was thoughtful, observant, practical, and very knowledgeable. He was very direct about the fact that bringing it up to code would take a significant amount of time and money, and (based on our plans to convert our house to a rental) quickly reviewed a few other options we might investigate, knowing that at least one of those options would mean using a low-skilled lower-cost alternative. As an aside, he was also great about taking a few moments to gently introduce himself to our dog so the dog was comfortable. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. read more

We hired the Renova Builders to complete the remodeling of our two full bathrooms. This was a complete bathroom remodeling. The work included bathtub to shower conversion, floor replacement and tile installation (floor and wall), window replacement, installation of recessed lights and vanities. I must say Omri and his team did fantastic work. Highly professional and good craftsmenship. The part I liked the most is that they were completely honest and transparent throughout the entire process and worked until we were completely satisfied with the job. All of the work was done according to the CA code and all inspections passed without any problems. They tore out rotten deck planks and rotten support joists, carefully fitting new pressure treated material onto existing support beams. Then they installed new redwood decking, sanded and stained. In addition they replaced one small wooden deck, and rebuilt a set of exterior stairs. Work was first rate. Workers were capable, polite, and careful. Cleaned up each day. Not sure how I should do this review. Experienced many positive stuff as well as some stuff that could have been better. This huge deck/pergola project at our place was originally estimated to complete in 2 months but ended up taking little over 10 months, and the original estimate doubled. Not all Renova Builders' fault as issues outside the scope of the project kept popping up. We had a total of probably 10 Change Orders! Our property ended up being and looking much better for that, so we appreciatively tolerated these inconveniences. And yes, many issues were resolved eventually. We have had our moments of frustration with the project/change orders, Tomer and crew. Examples are: their constant avoidance of using email to clarify and confirm in-person discussions or the contract/change order; not communicating well about work schedule or changes to it; not consistently being transparent with how they determine the pricing for change orders; crew not keeping work areas clean. On the bright side, the 10 months of constant personal contact with Tomer helped us form a special bond him that felt quite like family. We could sense how much he cared for the project as well as us. He exhibited great patience and respect when we became upset about something related to the project, and even when he was upset himself. His deep spirituality, openness and honesty impressed us. He sometimes irritated us with his confidence that the end result will be awesome, but he ended up right. We are loving our deck and the area below it so much now and receiving positive reviews from people who saw them. For me personally, I'm most fascinated and challenged by the language(s) used throughout this project and the various levels of competence in English. I am a native user of American Sign Language and uses written English as my second language. And English is also second language for practically everybody else in this project! Many crew members and managers were native Spanish speakers, some were native Hebrew/Israeli speakers. We managed with interpreters, translation tools online, and voice to text systems. That definitely made for an awesome spice of life for all of us trying to deal with sharing our ideas, goals, likes and disagreements! TLDR; Omri came in and fixed our master bathroom, on a few days notice, without us having a loan... and not being able to pay till the very end of the job.. then he did such a good job (perfect) that we did the original job we hired him for a month early.. and he fixed a bunch of stuff for us that wasn't supposed to be included in either job without charging any extra. Longer story is below: I'm not sure how to begin to explain how good Omri is. So me and the fiance were looking for someone to redo our guest bathroom. We wanted to start with the smaller bathroom in our house to test our a contractor before we started on the rest of our projects. The first contractor we got an estimate from was extremely pushy, and wanted us to sign on the spot and gave us about 10 mins to think about it. Next up came Omri: he walked into our house, and my dog instantly loved him (big plus... as my dog is terrified of strangers). Omri came across as extremely honest during our first meeting, he said to us "You may be able to find someone who will agree to do the job for 1-2K less than me, but my guys are the best, and I won't nickel and dime you for extra things" . Next contractor didn't show up, and the 4th seemed like he would cut too many corners. So we hired Omri to do our guest bathroom. Fast forward one month: Our master bathroom shower starts to leak through the wall, and is ruining the dry wall, base boards and the kitchen floor, I was thinking I'm screwed and my house was falling apart. We called Omri, and he came over the same day to look at it. He pulled out a moisture gauge, and found the problem, and told us to immediately stop using our master bathroom shower, so we don't destroy all the floors in our kitchen and hallway. We got a quote from him, and asked when he could start, and he said pretty much immediately as it was an emergency. He started the job a week and a half later (we were on our way to LA for a few days and we wanted to be there when the job started) without us even having a loan yet. A few weeks later the job was done, and the loan had just closed so we paid him. The work was absolutely perfect (master bathroom and master closet), he was extremely easy to work with (and super responsive), the job was completed exactly when he said it would be done and his guys fixed a few extra things for us (and mopped our floors to get rid of the construction dust). So we decided to start our guest bathroom early... A week and a half later his guys were back at our place to do our guest bathroom. Demo was done in about two days, getting the place up to code took about a day, plumbing took about a day, electrical took about a day, and finishing touches took about a day or so. Everything happened so fast we couldn't believe it. Again the work was perfect (We couldn't imagine it being done any better), his guys fixed (replaced) two of our broken window screens (without charging us), and the place is now immaculate again. I'm extremely glad that we hired Omri, and I can't wait till after our wedding to have him do our kitchen (the finance refuses to let me do any more projects till after our wedding next year). read more

Had Omri over for a roofing estimate Wednesday. Negative, does not begin to describe his attitude. Not only did he not go on the roof as other estimators had, to measure and see the roof up close and personal, but he does not provide a detailed estimate, just a number. He also won't disclose his time and material labor rate, which is a reasonable inquiry in these cases. In addition, he overstated my roof square footage by about 20%. So beware. He asked where he fit in the scale of the estimates I had already, and I told him his was the highest thus far. He said, arrogantly, "[Y]OU KNOW! I'M GLAD I AM THE HIGHEST!" He was $7,000, so far, over the next lowest bid. His attitude was extremely unprofessional and evasive. I don't know how he gets jobs, but this was not the way to do it. I once again hired Omri and his team from Renova Builders to do a second phase of renovations for my condo. I had been out of the area for 2 years and one of the first things I did upon returning was contact Renova to discuss renovations for the bathrooms and kitchen. Meeting up with Omri again was such a wonderful experience. And it was such a good sign to see his team with him. For me, that speaks volumes to their professionalism and demonstrates they work very well together. Jose was on top of everything as the project manager. Omri selected just the absolute best subway tiles for the bathrooms and a beautiful set of cabinets and countertop for the kitchen. We had two deck areas and two sets of wooden stairs that needed replacing. Renova did both projects quickly and efficiently. The quality of their work was excellent. They communicated regularly with me and sent regular receipts for all our payments, demonstrating better business practices than many contractors we have worked with. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that I'm looking for contractors that will also notice small details that are not right, even if they were not part of the original agreement, and tell me about them so we can also get them fixed with a change order (at my expense of course). I had a house fire while they were working on my house. do not use this company !!! i did and it was a nightmare !!! one of his workers broke my brand new refrigerator. it never worked again and I had to replace it. they also placed a range hood without any ceiling support. no insulation and poor support in my bathroom tub. the list goes on and one .Omri came into my yelling, screaming and threatening me. don't use this company- you will regret it. i had a house fire while he was working on my house. while the fire investigation wasn't sure if his crew started it.. the investigation did not exclude his work either. the range hood that they installed didn't work properly. the day before the house fire i informed omri and his crew that the range hood didn't seem to be installed properly. they didn't try to resolve the issue at all.the next day a fire started. and don't believe these positive reviews. some pictures may not be from his company. just don't do it- look at the yelp reviews.... too many negative reviews saying the same thing read more
