The construction team - Rolando, Rodolfo, Cesar, Freddo, and Jorge - was fantastic to work with. They were always punctual, respectful, highly skilled, and a pleasure to have in our home. They kept the workspace clean and organized every day, and the quality of their work was excellent. Rolando and Rodolfo handled the demolition professionally, Cesar kept the project running smoothly and paid close attention to every detail, Freddo did a great job with framing, molding, and painting, and Jorge's beautiful tile work truly elevated the finished bathroom. Remodeling can be stressful, but this project never felt chaotic. Everything stayed organized, and we always knew what was happening. The finished bathroom is beautiful, functional, and turned out even better than we had hoped. The project was completed on time and within budget. Using some inspiration from our Pintrest boards, she came up with designs unique to our house and aesthetic. Julie ordered all the materials on our behalf and identified a fantastic contractor who carried out the remodel with Julie's oversight. Julie took so much of the process off our plates, which was great because my wife was pregnant at the time haha. I've attached a few photos of the kitchen before the remodel and then when it was almost finished. I've also included some pictures of one of the shower areas before and after remodel. I would include more professional pics post remodel but our attention was quickly subsumed with a tiny human! Shawn took a look around, listened to what I had in mind, and thankfully told me what would or wouldn't work. He picked a beautiful quartz counter top, gave me options to choose from for the paint, faucet and hardware. He has a great team working for him. They were respectful and trustworthy. The refinished cabinets look like new. They do high quality work. He made his best effort to get things done within the time frame discussed but, as with any renovation, there were some unexpected issues that led to minor delays and affected cost. I really appreciated how his main concern was that I was happy with the end result. Due to unusual circumstances, we had a very tight timeline (see below for more details) so they were able to finish in 2 1/2 months. Overall, we are very happy with the end result and love our new, open layout! TL:DR version: - GREAT construction team/vendors and Fadil is the BEST project manager. Also the flooring contractor, Izec, is amazing. - Loved the design recommendations made by Shawn, like the floating shelves and bench by the window. - Pricing is competitive. Quality of work is fantastic. Designs are beautiful. - Area of improvement: better communication throughout the project. I had to be proactive and ask a lot of questions and follow up often. They offer both design and construction services, all under the same owner. This was convenient in that I only had to deal with one company and they took care of everything. Our project was unusual in that I was 6 months pregnant when we started the project. Typically, they don't start on construction until all materials are in stock but we needed to get things moving and completed quickly, so we ordered mostly standard sized and in-stock materials. The owner, Shawn, kept his promise on adhering to our timeline to the best of his ability, even as we ran into challenges with plumbing, structural, and electrical. His team worked tirelessly--even on weekends--to meet our deadline, without sacrificing quality or details. With any major construction, nothing is flawless. The one challenge I had, which may be unique to my circumstance, was getting proactive updates and just overall communication. At times, the construction team didn't even know what they were working on. Some of the designs didn't match the materials ordered. There was some miscommunication on which materials we were responsible for vs. what they would get for us. These were minor issues that eventually got resolved but it did cause me some stress and unrest. Highly recommend being proactive, with any big construction project, and staying close to the details... At the end of the day, despite some bumps, we now have our dream kitchen! And it was completed in record time! Last but not least, if you're told that any materials are "stuck" at the Oakland port, GET SOMETHING ELSE that's in stock. There is no ETA on when things will get unloaded at the dock...could be weeks or even months.

We were excited to work with them as their tile and vanity selections looked great in the showroom…read more When we received the tiles it was completely different from what we had selected. The samples we liked in the store didn't match the final delivered product. The color was off and the texture was just a print. Not the sample we had seen. Also, I would be very careful going to Porcelanosa, their quality seems good in the store but when you get the final product at home, it is not that great for the price you pay. The stone-looking tiles have a blur pattern that is fake and stamped on and that is not what we saw on the sample in the store. On bringing this up to the team at PORCELANOSA, they said that their batches can vary in color. This was also not told to us when we went to buy the tiles. We wanted our floor tile to be light and the walls to be darker. We ended up having the floor and the wall tiles look the same. The Vanity also was not constructed well. The doors would not align straight. And the customer service is not very good. Not helpful and pleasant to work with. The return instructions we not clear and the whole process was a very bad experience. And they don't provide pickup of the damaged items. You have to arrange for the large vanity pickup yourself pay their shipping fee or take it back yourself. Upon complaining multiple times they agreed to pick up the defective vanity for us. I will not be going there again.

Bless Eva's soul because I was so indecisive with my backsplash and the countertop. I kept going back and forth and changing my mind at least 3 times. They were so booked out until August so finally my day came last Monday and it only took the guys 4 days to complete. During the process of planning, Eva asked me to send in measurements of my current kitchen so I did. She worked her magic on her computer and gave me mock-up of my kitchen. I told her I wanted to add another counter with cabinets since I was lacking that with such a small kitchen. Even after confirming the placement, I changed my mind weeks later and decided on an island. Eva and her contractor came to my house to do final measurements, which made me feel relieved because I didn't trust my measurements. I ordered the Kingston cabinets in the gray ash finish. It is beautiful and lights up my kitchen. To compliment that, I went with the Bianco Swan quartz countertops. I wanted a farmhouse sink and gave the measurements of that to Eva since I bought it elsewhere and it came out beautiful. Everything is beautiful! One thing I really commend JQ for is being super clean. They laid down ramboards to protect the floor and there wasn't any dust in my house. They always vacuumed after themselves. I had a kitchen remodeled before from another company and they were so messy. Dust everywhere, empty water bottles everywhere and they're measurements were so off that I couldn't use a drawer or cabinet. So having JQ do my new kitchen at my new house was truly night and day. I recommend them and I hope you see the quality in their work.

From the very beginning, Itay, the business owner, was approachable, communicative, and always available to handle any issues that arose--big or small. Having a hands-on owner like Itay truly gave us peace of mind throughout the process. The on-site team, especially Luis and his crew, did a fantastic job. Whether it was demolition, cabinet installation, or appliance setup, everything was handled with professionalism and care. One thing that stood out was their flexibility--they were constantly willing to make little changes and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction with every aspect. As with most renovation projects, there were a few hiccups--some delays with cabinet deliveries or parts, for instance. My wife and I chose Top Remodeling & Design after considering several other companies. We are very happy with our choice. Our home was built in 1948. While the basic infrastructure was sound, it lacked modern electrical The plumbing was crumbling. The walls and attic had no insulation whatsoever. The roof was barely hanging on. The downstairs bath was not functioning and the original floor tiles and heater flue was full of asbestos. The wife and I used the downstairs for storage only. We were forced to use just the upper floor of our home that only had a tiny 8'x6' bath. Nimi and Itay worked with us and our architect to come up with a plan to completely update and modernize our home. The plan included a full update of the electrical, plumbing, insulation and roof as well arranging for the full abatement of the asbestos in my home. The plan included a full remodeling of our bathrooms and kitchen along with removal of an old chimney to create more living room space. Along with creating a huge master bath and bedroom space, Nimi and Itay designed upper and lower rear decks that gave us space out back to relax and entertain. The plan Nimi and Itay executed also made sure that our house is now seismically compliant. Our home is now the place we envisioned our home could become. It is now beautiful and very comfortable. The neighbors constantly compliment us on the work that was done. We have Top Design & Remodeling to thank for that. read more

I have been working with Itay Snof for almost 2 years now. When I bought my new house I chose to work with Itay because he had a proven track record of completed remodels with similar styles to what I was looking for. I remodeled the entire interior of the house, removed a few walls, and moved a bathroom. Itay managed the whole project from start to finish. He always kept me up to date on progress and handled the vast majority of the project for me. During the job, he was always about the least costly and most direct means of solving a problem. He never suggested a resolution for his convenience or monetary gain over Doing the Right Thing. I called him recently because the wall outside the steam shower was saturated with water. He came to see it within a day or 2. His team took the wall apart looking for the source and after returning several times, resolved the problem. I never received an invoice. When I thanked him he said, "It's really more than just the money for us..,If you need us we're just a call away to see that you're taken care of."

Douglah review After…read moreliving in our house for over 25 years, we decided to redo our kitchen - appliances, cabinets, floors, countertops, lighting, etc. We also wanted to update our laundry room and hallway bathroom. We were looking for a business that would handle everything from design to installation. We met with Leila Douglah and her staff in their showroom in Lafayette. Fast forward 2 years, and we now have a wonderful kitchen, laundry room and bathroom, and except for the purchase of the major appliances (refrigerator, ovens and cooktop), we never had to work with anyone else. We are very happy with the results, and while there were some snags in the construction process (that may or may not have been partly Douglah's fault), the entire process went professionally and smoothly. Douglah Designs is an all-in-one design/construction service. As you might expect, the total cost of the kitchen remodel was probably higher than if we did more of the legwork ourselves and used multiple vendors. But there are certainly advantages to offset the increased expense. The project was seamless and professional. Many of the craftsmen that Douglah Design uses are employees, not contracted. There is no finger pointing between designers and contractors; they all work together to use make things work. To us, the extra expense was definitely worth it. My wife and I are pretty picky when it comes to design, and Leila and her staff were very patient with us. We did have a similar esthetic, so we were usually on the same page from the start. Leila and Rachel Steely had a level of experience and industry knowledge that was a great advantage. Watching them work on the design and materials selection was very impressive and gave us high confidence that they REALLY knew what they were doing. As we realized, designing a kitchen is actually quite a complicated process, with thousands of details that we would not have even known about, let alone been able to address. But the designs and plans handled every detail and issue beautifully. Douglah recommended vendors and products with which they had experience and confidence, which saved us the trouble of having to vet each product, and which gave us confidence in the products. One limitation of working with Douglah Designs is that you are somewhat limited to products and vendors with which they are familiar and confident, so that may constrain your choices (and which may increase the cost of the project). But we felt that limited choices and extra cost were outweighed by the dependability and quality of the products that Douglah recommended. Overall, we were very happy working with Douglah Designs. They are not for everyone - if you have a different esthetic, or a different budget, or want more control over the process, you probably would be happier elsewhere. But if you want a top notch design and installation and have the budget, we highly recommend Douglah Designs.

Easiest experience I've ever had with a remodel. And I was a nervous Nelly like no other. I've never done anything in the 20+ years I've lived here so I was scared to death of being ripped off and taken advantage of. I needn't have worried. Shams was meticulous with his proposal, outlining and detailing every step of the procedure. He was patient and explained everything in terms I understood. Next came to work: They covered my carpet taking care to make sure that they picked up after themselves at the end of each day. The noise and disruption was minimal. Every step was explained and they didn't mind my occasionally observing and asking questions. Em, my cat, thinks they were purr-fect! Impressive how well SCHICKER worked with Pleasanton's permit inspector in all three phases, to complete this project on time. SCHICKER's lifetime warranty assures me that if I have any issue in the future, all I have to do is call them. And I will!!
