Working with Itay Snof and Top Remodeling was great. We interviewed several companies for a full house remodel (new kitchen, new bathrooms, new floors, new stairway, construction, new lights, the full job!) While other companies sent designers who wanted to "tell us what we should get", Itay came himself, and wanted to know what WE wanted. If we weren't quite sure on a certain room, he would make suggestions and show pictures of other jobs. He offered a very reasonable price as well as time estimate, which he hit down to the day. We also used his company's design services and computer models to better picture the best ways to re-do our kitchen and bathroom, which was a huge help. One of the best things about Itay is his communication skills: he was at the house nearly every day, calling me to make sure they do everything the way we wanted (down to things like grout color), which we greatly appreciated. If one of his employees made a mistake, he would make sure they fixed it, so it wouldn't fall onto me (and no nickel and diming!) The only suggestion that I would make is to have all of the finishing materials delivered before starting construction. We had a couple of lead time issues with materials even though they were ordered well in advance. If the materials are all ordered, delivered, and accounted for, the process will go fast. If you start construction and then experience material lead time or delivery issues, it will stretch out the project. I started a bathroom remodel with another contractor, he had a contractors license but he hired unskilled workers who destroyed my bathroom. The problems started soon after they started, the tile was installed incorrectly, the plumbing was not code, etc., they wasted materials because they could not make proper cuts. I asked the contractor to stop. The bathroom was out of service for approx., 6 months . I was really scared to hire another contractor because I did not want to make another mistake. I don't know if there is enough room here to say all the reasons you should hire these guys! First of all, let me say that I had contacted at least 5-6 companies over a 10 year period to ask about installing a skylight and they had all said they could not do it,it was impossible (the pitch of the roof, the kind of roof tiles, the constraints of the attic, etc etc). A million reasons why it couldn't be done. Top Remodeling was going to be my last try and if they said "No" I would decide to live with my very dark living room that got very little natural light and actually sort of depressed me. Itay and Sam responded to my request quickly and said they thought they could do it!! They were responsible to say they would send the worker into the attic to make sure. Shortly thereafter, Marco came to look in the attic and confirmed that, YES they could do it!! I asked if they could install rustic crossbeams to keep with the aesthetic of 1930's Spanish bungalow. Again, a "YES". They also installed recessed lights in corners for nighttime. I also asked about ladder for the attic, as I was in desperate need of storage space, but it had to be a ladder I could raise and lower by myself (woman in late 50's, height-challenged, lol). The solution was an accordion ladder, which they installed and I am LOVING. I can pull it down with a pole and it is on springs so I can lower and raise it very easily. Itay is very collaborative and focused on making the customer happy; he doesn't push his own ideas but, rather, encourages you to decide what you really want and then he makes it happen- he's like a home improvement magician, lol. The workers, Marco, Juan were absolutely amazing- so honest, respectful and accommodating. I changed my mind a couple of times about some details and they were so quick to do everything they could until I felt like it was perfect. Marco's attention to detail is phenomenal- he might have been pickier than me! He made sure everything was 100%. Finally, the price for the work was very fair and Itay worked with me to make sure I was able to do what I wanted within my budget. I know that this was very high end work, so I really appreciated that. The pics don't do it justice because I'm not the best photographer, but the skylight is GORGEOUS and turned my dark cave into a light filled living room that I now sit in every chance I get and that my family is loving, as well.
