Failed to turn off the water prior to cutting pipes during upstairs shower remodel. Flooded hardwood floors below and caused them to warp. Brought in hardwood refinishers who left visible drips of sealant in multiple areas and hadn't bothered to take care of the floor under the refrigerator. Moving the refrigerator revealed that cabinet installer had removed baseboards and hadn't put them back. Udi showed up precisely once a week solely to collect checks. Every bit of quality inspection was done only by us. All home cleanup had to be done by us. The amount of gaslighting we heard throughout the project is jaw dropping. We have no doubt that the other reviews here are fake. This is a third rate outfit at a premium price. read more

This post is long overdue. Udi and his crew did some work on my home a few years ago; minor renovation of a bathroom, new flooring/paint/lighting in a playroom and a window installation. Udi and Lion Group provided a fair quote and performed quality workmanship within the parameters set. A year or so later, I noticed a potential leak in my bathroom. Without hesitation, Udi responded and committed to checking out the issue the following day. Wow, simply fantastic! After a solar company did some major damage to my roof and the side of my house I needed someone to come in and help fix it. I had my roofer redo most of the roof, but that still left the side of the house where the solar company decided to drill so they could connect to my subpanel (the plans stated it was to connect outside). Needless to say, this wasn't a big job, but Udi was super responsive and sent some guys over within a few days. These guys were quick and did some top rated work! Our designer recommended Udi to us as we researched general contractors, based on the quality of his finishes. As part of our process, I also called 2 references, who further recommended Udi and his team. The scope of our project was significant: - Executing a full earthquake retrofit of the ground level of our house, including re-bolting to the foundation and introducing sheer walls - Introducing a new floorpan, including a new bathroom with a shower - Demoing and refacing our existing fireplace with tile, and ensuring it was properly set up for the gas insert we purchased - Bringing our den into this century by removing the wood panelling and replacing it with drywall. This part of the project also involved removing the built-in grill and wet bar and seamlessly repairing our wood floors. - Addressing many, many smaller updates and needed maintenance At every step, we found Udi a great partner in the remodel of our home. He was always responsive, flexible and clearly cared very much about the quality of the work that he and his team completed. Furthermore, we felt that he was always fair and reasonable with us, both in terms of the initial estimate and additions to scope we made throughout the project. Udi often made recommendations he felt would drive better results. For example, we had believed we needed to remove our 2-story fireplace for earthquake safety; after checking again with our engineer, he confirmed Udi's suggestion that it was not necessary, saving us that cost. As another example, we had planned to build a small closet in our crawlspace. However, Udi recommended that we actually use another location, which allowed us to have a much larger, nicer closet than we had initially anticipated, adding huge storage to our house. TL/DR: Our project took longer than expected because of COVID, but we got exactly what we wanted and it was a pleasure working with Udi. Our existing, pretty large garage had a one-car bay, a roughly finished in the 40s or 50s separate room, and a large attic storage area above both spaces. We wanted to reconfigure the garage so that we could have a guest house with a lofted play area while retaining the one-car parking bay and some storage. Udi was recommended by our architect as a contractor experienced with garage conversions. From the first consultation, it was clear that (unlike other contractors we met with) Udi was honest, straightforward, and would listen to what we wanted. We expected a 3 month project but had some issues with a pump installation (this was a vendor/city inspector issue, out of our and Udi's control) that put us behind schedule just as COVID was spreading in late March. Udi went to bat for us with the city to be sure that our doors and window could be installed to close our structure from the weather before the COVID shutdown went into effect. Once it was safe for work to proceed again, Udi had a lot of suggestions about ways to work around supply chain issues in the wake of the COVID epidemic. He was responsive through the ups and downs and we always felt like he was in our corner. The project is finished now and we absolutely love it. While we won't be hosting anyone soon we are enjoying the space and spending all our time in our new and improved backyard cottage! read more

I've done numerous hours on researching and interviewing many contractors because it was very important to me to find the "Right Contractor" since I was going to trust them with my house for some time. It was a MASSIVE WHOLE HOUSE Project involving installation of over 20+ recessed lightings, removal of popcorn ceiling, whole new painting and wood flooring for living room, family, room, kitchen remodel including cabinets, sink etc, installing new patio door and modifying/painting existing brick fireplace (CHECK OUT THE PICS). I'd give 5000000** STARS if I could!!! I'm so HAPPY and GRATEFUL to have Udi as my contractor for many reasons but there are 3 main reasons why I think he is THE BEST: (1) COMMUNICATION: communication is the very important key for everything and Udi was THE BEST PERSON when it comes to communication. I was able to get a quick response from Udi about anything (progress, colors, materials, designs etc) via text messages, phone call, photos with comments or even Videos!!! Since this was my first renovation, I had many questions about the project. When I asked for his expertise, Udi was there to give me professional advices and recommendations. To be honest, I felt bad for asking him 1000s questions but he always answered them quickly without any irritations :) For example, I was going to add chandelier on high vaulted ceiling but Udi recommended adding 6 recessed light (dimmable) instead--THE BEST IDEA EVER!!! (after my decision to hire him, of course :) (2) WORK ETHIC/PUNCTUALITY: Udi has been working with his team of employees for many years--very important factor for me since they're NOT just temporarily-hired workers for short-term (a big no-no for me). His team of experts (painters, cabinet fabricators, repair guys etc) all enjoyed working on this project and they had very good work ethics. All the guys always arrived on time to work and even worked late hours to finish up the project if needed. Even when I stopped by to check on things, they were more than happy to answer my questions and kept me updated on what's going on. (3) FLEXIBILITY: Before starting the house renovation, Udi gave me a very realistic scopes of project in order with price for each step (**HUGE PLUS since you PAY what you AGREE ON--NO HIDDEN FEE). Udi and his team executed each step superbly within reasonable time. Even when I added some additional projects (painting etc) last minute, he was very professional about it and was able to accommodate my requests flawlessly. We all know renovation can be very stressful. Before I met Udi, I heard so many horrible stories about contractors being shady and untrustworthy. Not only Udi was able to make my dream-home come true with his great workmanship, but he also gave me peace of mind throughout this rather stressful process with his professionalism and expertise. Knowing that I was in great hands made this experience very pleasant and the renovation result was astonishing! (check out the Before/After Photos!) Wow i just had contractor that came out to my house today to bid on my job. This guy was completely rude. I was planning to use them for my back yard project my budget was $80,000 in cash for them to put in a pavers and retaining wall and rebuild my deck. I guess since i don;t live in a high end neighborhood he didn;t want to take on the job. he told me that my project would be well over $120,000 for the small items i wanted to do. I got a few other bids and they are in lined with my price. I honestly think this company was being racism towards me as well he was making rude comments to me the entire time. I found Udi and his team on Yelp for a small job to move our washer/dryer to another part of the house and replace all of our interior doors. Moving the washer/dryer involved breaking into some pre-existing closets and rerouting all of the electrical, plumbing, and gas lines to another part of the house. The experience was seamless. In fact, if we had not come into contact with Udi, we may not have made the decision to buy a home that needed so much work. We had thought about our bathroom and kitchen remodel ever since we moved in. Last summer we finally decided it's time and started to look at options. We looked online, found a few construction companies and set up a couple meetings. We weren't really set on any of them but we were at point where we were willing to settle and just booked with someone to get it done. Luckily, in the process we saw our neighbor outside and got to talking about our project. She told us we have to talk to Udi, her friend and contractor. Udi was able to stop by a couple days later. He listened, looked at the space, gave us his thoughts and ideas and actually made us feel very comfortable, a feeling we didn't get from any of the other contractors we had met. He didn't push to sign a contract right away like all the others we met with, and his price was pretty competitive too. We knew it was a match, he sent us to a few of suppliers he works with to look at tile, vanities and material he suggested and we scheduled to meet a week later. We finalized the details and got to work 3 weeks after. Udi and his crew were able to finish both the bathroom and kitchen at the same time. He was very communicative with us throughout the whole process and was on site every day, always present to sit with us when needed and overall just made us feel like we're in good hands. The workers were great, knew their craft and were very clean and professional. They finished a beautiful kitchen and bathroom remodel in less then 5 weeks!
