This review is long overdue - we finished our second-story addition with Mission in March 2025 and couldn't be happier with the results! Amazingly, our major project was completed exactly on time and essentially on budget, even though we ran into some unexpected challenges with the design (not done by Mission) that could have derailed it. The issues that came up were handled quickly and thoughtfully, and several of their suggestions genuinely improved the final design. One thing that really stood out was the team's honesty--any mistakes (inevitable/expected on a project of this size) were acknowledged immediately and addressed without hesitation, which is something other contractors sometimes struggle with. It's definitely important to stay involved, but we felt comfortable being away for long periods and trusted Dan to keep things moving smoothly. There were times when dust/debris reached areas outside the active work zone, but the crew made sure everything was thoroughly cleaned by the end. All in all, we would enthusiastically recommend Mission to anyone considering a major renovation or addition. Thank you Dan and the rest of the team! read more

Try to get some basic quote range but they say no, they cannot do that and we have to schedule a site visit even with the measurements and picture I provide. This makes no sense because we just want to get a ballpark to see if it's even make sense to continue. But anyway, on the date of the site visit, the guy come without any tool for measurements and for note taking. The guy just spent like 20 mins walking around the house and said he will get back to us with a quote. But I never hear back from them since. I think the company is very picky on clients and like to see if they have enough money to pay for their service. If they think we cannot afford it, they will just cut all the communications. This is also mentioned by other 1 star reviews. read more

Well Done! Highly professional, skilled and especially nice. We originally just planned to update the two bathrooms, fireplace and minor revisions to master bedroom however we then added updating the kitchen, terrace, floors, lighting and speakers very reasonably priced. Amir was supervisor and executed the remodel our exceeding expectations! He made the remodel process go smoothly. I highly recommend Mission. read more

Thank you for remodeling my bathroom ...you did a great job! You handled everything smoothly, including moving all the plumbing and taking care of the permits on time. You also helped us order the items that weren't in stock and guided us through the whole process with clear communication. I really love that we designed it, but you helped us choose vanity. Everything turned out beautifully. Thank you again! read more

I can't thank Mission Remodeling's team enough for taking on our project so quickly and finishing on such a tight timeline! From the first consultation to the final walk-through, the team was professional (shout out to Matan, Sarah, Ethan and Joseph), easy to communicate with (we love Joey from the office), and genuinely seemed to care about the quality of their work. The team on site was great at communication, and their attention to details is excellent. It's hard to find a good and honest contractor in SF these days and it's been a wonderful experience working with Mission Remodeling. Will definitely reach out again for future projects :) read more

Posted this on Google reviews and it got hidden to the public. I think it's important folks know about this experience so see below: ______________________ I had such a bad experience with Mission Home which I know will look bonkers given the 5 star reviews. I was definitely persuaded by these reviews - and now will question every business that has 5 star reviews. Do your homework and don't be fooled. Project took much longer than what it should have because they were disorganized and would forget certain things (the foreman would even admit that the PM should have told me certain things!) that I would have imagined a contractor had down pat in terms of sequencing. They use some subcontractors and you are at the mercy of their schedules. They just are not organized (you will do a lot of the reminding, checking in, following up, and certain things still may not happen). They failed inspections meaning more cost (it is their job to pass these! It says this in any contract!) If it seemed as though I was questioning something, the PM got defensive and sometimes unprofessional, gaslighting me in a very aggressive manner. I saved the communication, in fact. The people I worked with directly were young and it showed in the almost-too-casual style of communication and lack of professionalism. I surrendered towards the end and just wanted the project done and everyone gone. I feel completely foolish that I went with the significantly higher estimate thinking it would offer a smooth, superior experience. The actual people who did the work worked hard though and did nice work - hence the two stars. But at the end of the day, it's actually hard to enjoy the work as I am reminded by the months of bad experiences - up to the very end. You can find more experienced contractors out there for equal quality of workmanship and for a more competitive price. I am using a different contractor now for other work at the property - it's a 180 degree difference - they have a dedicated team for my project, meaning time to completion is more accurate and on time; they have a dedicated person to procure the finishes and fixtures, not myself; they are way more organized and even provided me a timeline of what to expect and communicate with me what time they are showing up and what progress was made that day (!!); they are bringing a truly expert eye with attention to detail that ELEVATES the space and are teaching me to ask things I didn't even know I should KNOW to ask; and most importantly, I feel truly comfortable asking questions without defensiveness and aggressive steamrolling in their answers. I received none of this level of care or expertise with MHR, and I want you to know that you should expect these things!!! read more

I honestly didn't think I could afford a home remodel right now, and with how much I work, I thought it would be way too stressful. But Mission Home Remodeling made the whole process so easy--and the results are even better than I imagined. I worked with Amir and Sarah, and they were both amazing. They helped me design a fun, eclectic living room, a relaxing master bedroom, and a backyard that's all about making life easier for my senior dog, Benji. They even installed a custom electric doggy door so he can go in and out while I'm at work! Everything looks great and works perfectly for our lifestyle. I used to think remodeling was only for really wealthy people, and now I just wish I had called them sooner. read more

I had my bathrooms remodeled by Mission Home Remodeling, and I'm genuinely so happy with how everything turned out. The quality of the work is excellent, clean finishes. Their designer helped me pick out the tiles, fixtures, and colors, which made the whole process so much easier. They even pulled off a custom shower with an LED strip above, and it looks amazing -- like something out of a boutique hotel. The team was friendly, communicative, and really cared about getting it right.Happy with the result read more

Mission Home did an amazing job replacing our patio door and window with new patio doors as well as new siding, trim, and paint. I was thoroughly impressed with their speed and the quality of their work, and Amir was a great project manager to work with throughout the project. We couldn't be happier with how the doors turned out and we'd highly recommend Mission Home remodeling read more

We just purchased our first home and hired these guys to help us every remodel that the biggest help was getting older the pyramids they do have a person and staff who makes sure they can get permits really quick. We also liked that they did set up invoices for older large purchases we've done we've even received a discount on some items that they helped us select materials and so on the project is almost finished we had a very good experience and I most of my friends had a difficult time with construction. I'm super happy it was it went well for us. read more

I hired Mission Home Remodeling to upgrade my San Francisco home. It was a full master bedroom and bathroom remodel, plus a fourth-story addition. It was a big project with a lot of moving parts, and the team handled it with professionalism from day one. Amir, our project manager, was excellent. He kept things organized, stayed on top of the schedule, and always made himself available to walk through progress or decisions. No surprises, no runaround--just straight answers and solid follow-through. The fourth-story addition looks like it was part of the original build with great design integration and high-quality finish work. The master suite turned out exactly how we wanted: clean lines, smart layout, and solid materials (thank you Sarah!). The bathroom now feels modern and functional, with the kind of attention to detail that makes a difference. The crew was respectful, skilled, and showed up when they said they would. The project stayed on budget and finished close to the timeline we were given, which is so so rare in SF. If you're looking for a contractor that delivers what they promise and doesn't waste your time, Mission Home Remodeling is the way to go. I'd work with them again without hesitation. Thank you so much team, you've made my house a home!!! read more

For our home expansion (incremental ~1,000 sqft) and remodeling (entire home) project, we interviewed no fewer than 20 contractors around the Bay Area. We chose Mission Home Remodeling primarily because of: 1) A reasonable estimate: Some contractors came in with ridiculously high estimates. They promised fancy white glove services, but we wanted to maximize every dollar at the end of the day. Others came in with even lower estimates than Mission Home Remodeling, but they didn't pass our smell test. They had complaints filed against them on BBB, or we felt that they would eventually nickel and dime us through "unexpected" change orders. 2) High level of trust they instilled in us: We felt that Mission Home Remodeling was in this business with a long-term perspective, such that they would care about happy clients who can genuinely support them after their projects. This was important to us, because we wanted people who would treat our project with care and work toward our satisfaction. 3) Prompt communication: Everyone at Mission Home Remodeling was eager to speak with us. Our project was at least several months long, and we needed people who could be reached easily to discuss various issues and questions that arise throughout the project. Their communication was exceptional from the beginning - not just how quickly they responded, but also the way they communicated. Fast forward a few months, we have completed our project with Mission Home Remodeling, and we can't speak more highly of them. All our initial expectations came true, and they have been amazing partners throughout this journey. There were many unexpected surprises along the way, and they certainly could have exploited them to profit more or delay the project. Yet, they handled each surprise with grace and were beyond reasonable in accommodating our needs. read more

Love my updated kitchen! Dan is a fantastic project manager-- he communicates frequently and timely. I was never left waiting on information or unsure of next steps or progress from the very first inquiry to the last day of the project. He also went above and beyond taking me to some locations to narrow in cabinetry and other materials. The designer Sarah was helpful in narrowing down my design choices (from appliances to paint color to tile and fabric), and encouraged me into some elements I wouldn't have done on my own and easily became my favorite parts! The job site crew worked efficient, and did beautiful work installing cabinetry for an eat in kitchen, and a custom pantry that works as a bar for me. Plus new countertops, sink, faucet and backsplash. They were very nice and the unit was kept tidy and clean each day which I so appreciated as I lived at home during the project. They had checks & balances in place between PM and job crew to catch issues before they became a problem. Highly recommend Mission Home Remodeling! read more

My husband and I recently hired Mission Home Remodeling for a full home remodel, and we're happy with the results. The team (we worked closely with Joseph, Matan and Sara) was professional, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. They kept us informed, stuck to the timeline, and handled any issues quickly and without drama. The quality of the work is excellent-everything from the flooring and cabinetry to the lighting and paint came out just the way we hoped. They paid attention to the details, and it shows. Thus, Increasing the value of our home. We'd definitely recommend this team to anyone looking for solid dependable work on their home. Joey from the office was really helpful and attentive whenever we called as well! read more

Matan and his team did an excellent job on our addition and bathroom remodel project. Matan is very easy to work with and helped us through our first major home project and handled our numerous questions along the way. The cost was very reasonable compared to the five or so other quotes that we received and the project was completed in about 4 months. read more

We recently worked with Mission Home Remodeling on a renovation of our home in San Francisco, including adding a new bathroom, renovating an existing bathroom, adding walk-in closets to existing bedrooms, and adding a breakfast nook in our kitchen. We're thrilled with the outcome of the project and had a great experience working with Matan, David and team. We'd highly recommend them if you're looking for a design-build firm in the SF area. We especially appreciated their honesty, customer service, architectural services, knowledge of working in historic buildings, craftsmanship, and follow through. From start to finish the team at MHR was great to work with. They were fast to respond to our initial inquiry and straightforward to communicate with around scope and price. We agreed to a price at the outset and they stuck to it, including being very accommodating of changes to plans that emerged along the way. We had a great experience working with their architect. She met with us frequently during the early stages of the project to iterate and ensure all of the key details of the design that were important to us were fully captured in the plan. We were able to iterate through a huge amount of work with her in a few weeks and quickly get to approved plans. Our home was built in 1908 and we wanted to maintain historical details during our renovation. MHR has excellent craftspeople on their team who worked with us to match moldings, cove ceilings, and other details, so that the new work seamlessly blends into the existing conditions in the areas of the house where this was a key priority for us. Overall, we were happy with the timeline of our project. MHR was onsite every day making steady progress and did a great job of scheduling and coordinating the various trades (plumbing, electric) to avoid delays. In terms of finishes and follow through, the team was great. They diligently worked with us to quickly close out our punch list at the end. Where there were any details that we requested be reworked they were fully responsive and accountable and made sure we were completely satisfied with the finishing details before we considered the project wrapped up. The follow through at the end to make sure the details were right was a standout part of the project for us. Overall, we know we made the right choice in working with MHR and would highly recommend them if you're planning a renovation in SF or nearby. read more

As a mom of four in Pacific Heights, I didn't think I had time for a remodel, but Mission Home Remodeling made the whole process surprisingly easy and stress-free. From the moment I spoke to Joey, I felt like we were in good hands. He was clear, responsive, and really made sure I understood everything from start to finish. The focus wasn't just on upgrading our home, but also making it more practical for our busy family. Joseph, Sarah and Ethan really listened to what we needed and helped us find solutions that worked for our lifestyle. The best part? Breakfast now actually runs smoothly (something I never thought I'd say). The new layout and practical upgrades have made a big difference in how our family uses the space. With four kids running around, I didn't have time for delays or surprises. The team was professional, communicative, and made sure everything went according to plan. Our Pacific Heights home looks amazing, but even more important, it works better for us. Mission Home Remodeling delivered on both fronts, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Responded to my request, came and looked at the project, and gave him drawings, never heard from him again. We recently had a bathroom demo and remodel necessitated by a leak in our plumbing. Amir Yechiely was assigned to our project. From his first visit, we were impressed by his knowledgeable diagnostic of our problem. While we were daunted by the prospect of a total bathroom demo, we were comforted by his expertise and his willingness to help keep the project in our budget. We consulted a few other firms, but ultimately chose to go with MHR because they were experienced, promised a quick turn-around time, and had a competitive price. There was one issue about half-way through the shower installation when the positioning of a ledge wasn't quite to our liking. Amir was perfectly understanding and accommodating when we asked if it could be changed. We couldn't be happier with our new bathroom, and are grateful to Amir, the workers, and MHR for their great work. read more

We worked with Mission Remodeling on a nursery and bathroom addition in our San Francisco home. Having had previous less than pleasant experiences with other contractors in the Bay Area, we were nervous diving into this project a few months before the arrival of our baby - but Mat and David were phenomenal to work with. They worked with us through several changes to our plans, were flexible as our needs changed and were always transparent about pricing and timelines. They also work really well with the city which can often be quite challenging, and the quality of their work is top notch. We hope to work with them for our remodeling needs in the future. read more

Mike and his team at Mission Home Services did an outstanding job in our home. We had several projects including the master and guest bathroom remodels, entryway tile, and a deck rebuild. He gave us exactly what we wanted, and when we were in doubt, he provided us with options. His recommendations were spot-on. Mike's pricing is fair. He does beautiful work with attention to detail. He took very good care of our home by protecting the floors and hanging dust barriers. We received daily updates with pictures, and the work area was always left clean and tidy. We highly recommend Mission Home Services. read more

I found Mission Home Remodeling through the Yelp service, and they were the third company to give us an estimate on some dry rot repair around our garage door. Amir showed up on time, was very professional, and gave us the best-priced bid of all the companies who looked at the scope of work. Amir was excellent in communicating with me and his guys showed up and knocked the work out on it a couple of days. Matter of fact, I was so impressed with their expertise - especially with Saul, the foreman - I asked them to do additional work such as removing and redoing the caulking around the second garage door and to repaint. The quality of the work was top-notch. Now we know where to go when we have any stuff that needs to be done. Thank you, Amir, Saul, and crew! read more

Working with Matan and David was an amazing experience. The customer service they provide is at the highest level. Whatever I needed they were always there to get done right away. I have been burnt so many times before and this was just so different. On top of the amazing customer service experience, my kitchen and bathroom came out exactly how I wanted. Sarah was very helpful in the design process, and the finish and detail work is what I was promised. Construction is stressful (and not cheap) and the experience I had with Mission Home Remodeling truly eased the process. read more

We bought a fixer-upper in SF. We didn't realize how much work and planning it would actually require to bring it to living conditions (let alone to a condition we would enjoy living in). Gladly I was referred to Dan and Matan by a good friend who did a pretty significant remodel as well. They were able to walk me through the process step by step. They really know how to deal with San Francisco City, which was a huge bonus, because it seemed like every other contractor we spoke with really had no idea or was not willing to. The remodel went surprisingly smooth. I've heard all the nightmares of contractors in the Bay Area and been through a pretty bad experience myself in the past. We remodeled 2 full bathrooms (one was an addition and it came out REALLY beautiful). The kitchen came out really great as well. I love to cook so the kitchen was super important for me. We worked with Sarah, the company's main designer, and she pointed us to nice cabinets and a beautiful new island countertop. Overall, I had a really great experience with the Mission Home Remodeling team and will gladly recommend their services to my loved ones. read more

Matt and his team at Mission Home Remodeling completed a 6 month renovation project at our residence and we are so happy that the result matched the vision our architect and designer had produced. My wife and I desired a larger kitchen after living in our home for 9 years. For a 50 year old house, the layouts that were popular then did not include a larger, open kitchen and living space where we could entertain guests. Mission Home Remodeling performed all the structural modifications and gutted nearly 70% of our house to provide us with what feels like a brand new home with a lot more natural light and a kitchen that our extended family, friends, and guests can enjoy. Because I was at the site nearly every day (we had moved out for the entire duration of the project), all of the various teams that worked on different aspects of the house were extremely courteous in explaining to me all the different reasons for doing things a certain way and were open to most (if not all of my suggestions). Once the project started and we saw how it was going, we decided midway that there were some other changes we wanted to make to some of the other rooms - Mission Home Remodeling were absolutely amenable to the changes and our project experienced only slight delays. All in all, my wife and I are very happy with how our "new" house turned out. The team did a fantastic job making sure that everything was done right and we passed each inspection at the first go. These guys know what they're doing! read more

Matt was the project manager and he was very professional, knowledgeable, and easy to get along with from the very beginning (which is especially great when it comes to remodeling in San Francisco). Matt was almost always available to translate my concerns to the foreman and workmen, if necessary, and if he wasn't, he made sure to follow-up in a timely manner. Our 2 bathrooms came out beautifully and we are especially excited about the quality of the tile work. Huge thanks to Matt and his team at Bay Home Renovation! read more

Going into this job I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I have a very old (1912) San Francisco home, and knew I needed to find a professional to do this job properly.
