Long story short: I would definitely hire K&H again and would recommend anybody else to do the same. They are a very professional firm. They communicate well. The quality of their work is excellent. All the contractors and subcontractors they used were polite, professional, capable, and clean. For context, my project was the remodeling of a 10 foot by 8 foot full bath as well as a small powder room (toilet and vanity) underneath a stairwell in San Francisco. As a group of townhouses, we are part of a homeowner association (HOA) and share walls and common space with neighbors. As a consequence, we need to coordinate the project with the HOA as well as coordinate and schedule water shut offs as that impacts our neighbors. Also, keeping cleanliness after each workday is essential. K&H was one of three firms we interviewed for the project. Their price quoted for design, rough materials, and labor were comparable to the other firms. We budgeted three weeks for design and planning and an additional two months (8 weeks) for construction which is demolition to finish. We ended up a week off schedule because of some out of scope electrical work which needed to be finished to pass inspection. K&H also managed this electrical project for us. K&H worked well with our HOA board on the approval process by sending all necessary documents in a timely fashion. The design process was straightforward. The designer met with us once at a showroom and tile store and all other correspondence was electronic. The designer was very knowledgeable and helped us pick good materials and finishes. We were very pleased with the 3D renderings based on what we picked. I can also say that the final result did not deviate from the 3D renderings whatsoever. From the demo, I knew this was going to be a very conscientious firm. They took the time to protect my floors, walls, and carpets. They hauled trash away everyday and swept the floors of the common areas so we wouldn't bother the neighbors. They hid their tools away and vacuumed after each work day because they knew I had little kids running around. They were willing to warehouse our supplies and materials as well as coordinate delivery and pickup on our behalf knowing that our space was tight. The whole remodeling process was wonderfully uneventful. This was because K&H was accommodating to our schedule and communicated very well. They had good solutions to weird design problems (for example, we have an angled wall in our powdered room). The workers had an artisan mentality. They would take the time to paint an entire wall just to make sure the paint was consistent, even though they only worked on a small part of the wall. They made adjustments for the fact that my old house may not have everything 100% aligned so things didn't look lopsided. They set up my electrical and plumbing in a way where I will have an easy time when I go about remodeling my remaining bathroom next year. At the end of the project, everything looked really good. If you have a project in San Francisco, I highly recommend this firm for your remodeling needs. They know how to navigate the challenges of the city. read more

Our house suffered some flooding during the 12/31/22 storms. The entire living room/dining room hardwood flooring was destroyed, and we lost a good chunk of the drywall in the rooms due to mold/water damage. We also had flooding in a bedroom, which damaged the carpets and drywall as well. We called around and hired K&H Construction and Development. The main team that helped us consisted of Yosef and Iyov, and their foreman Gerardo. Throughout the whole job, they were super easy to contact via text message and phone calls. If any complications arose, Yosef and Iyov were frequently able to drop by the house. They were very nice and accommodating with our requests. We asked them to replace the flooring, drywall, baseboards, and carpet padding. With the drywall replacement we asked them to do a paint and texturing job on the walls. Later, we also requested to replace the flooring in the undamaged kitchen area in order to match the rest of the new floors. They were quick to provide a revised estimate and a fair new pricing. They had initially told us that they were able to source the exact floors as our old ones, so we thought the flooring portion would be rather painless and straightforward. However, there was miscommunication at the store and it turns out our flooring was discontinued a few years ago. We had to delay the flooring portion of the job for a few weeks as we had to spend some time hunting around for new floors. Yosef was very patient and understanding and was able to reschedule us as we waited for the floors to arrive. After we had found a flooring that we liked, we had to wait a week for the floors to arrive. Then there was an additional complication in that the floor company sent us the wrong floors, so we had to delay the job yet another week as we waited for the actual floors to arrive. Once again, Yosef was extremely nice and accommodating despite all the delays. After the correct flooring finally arrived, the flooring job itself went relatively smoothly. They had Gerado and Luis doing the demolition and the placement of the new floors. Throughout the job, some imperfections arose (e.g. floorboards shifting, inconsistent wall textures), but they were all within the expected hiccups of construction and promptly addressed. We had to tie in new flooring with some old flooring, both engineered hardwoods. Gerardo was able to transition the two floors without the need of a T-mold. We wanted to avoid having a bump in our floor, so this was great news for us. The texturing and paint jobs on the walls required some small touch ups after the initial pass, but ultimately they did a good job matching the existing textures on the walls. In the end, we were happy with the repair jobs. Yosef and team were very kind and patient with all of our questions and requests. They assured us that they wanted to make sure we were happy with the job, and we would be happy to use them again in the future. read more

So happy with this company. They executed my vision based on a Pinterest pic, were always on time, very professional and worked well with my demanding HOA. I found K&H on Yelp and had several companies come in and give a quote. They landed right in the middle of quotes but given they had to deal with an HOA, pay for parking, were willing to pick up the cost when a tile didn't come thru and use a designer that rather than taking a markup, you get the benefit of the trade discount, I feel they were a well priced company. They always cleaned up after the day and were very pleasant. Shout out to Eli who was able to pivot with some miscommunication and got things done and to Iyov that even if it meant him eating some of his profit, wanted to go above and beyond making sure everything was done to a high standard. We live in a high rise condo building, so some aspects of renovating there can be challenging (needing to deal with the HOA rules, reserve the use of a loading dock, etc.), but K&H handled everything well. They were very responsive when we had questions before construction started and while the project was underway. Everyone that worked on the project was also kind and polite, and they made sure to tidy up at the end of each day. Most importantly, K&H gave us a time estimate and stuck to it. Despite being a young company, K&H Construction exceeded my expectations for my master bathroom remodel and installation of hardwood floors. It is very rare to find contractors that truly want to make you happy during a remodel and K&H did just that plus more. Iyov, Joseph and the team of contractors worked very closely with my designer, Kery from KloudB Studio, to bring her design to reality. Prior to the remodel, they set clear expectations and during the remodel they were VERY responsive to any concern/question I had, they accommodated my schedule and did everything possible to make the entire process worry free. I was rarely home during the day while the contractors were working, but always looked forward to coming home and seeing the progress they made each day. With any remodel, there is always a few unexpected bumps along the way, but K&H did an excellent job communicating the issue and problem solving. They are very skilled contractors, but what sets them apart is their character, integrity and passion for their work. K&H quoted and worked on a series of roof leaks and internal ceiling damage in our bedroom and media room from the storms earlier this year. They were super flexible on how they quoted and approached the job, which was complicated by the fact that some of the damage was to HOA-covered areas and some was internal to our unit. Their biggest strength was their responsiveness - they were happy to communicate via WhatsApp/text or phone - and were super patient as we sorted through our HOA approval process and then ready to go once approved. Most importantly, they found and fixed the leaks (it was not initially obvious where the water was coming from, so they spent some time investigating to make sure they got it right). They also were great about site protection and their attention to detail in the final product was great. They re-insulated and closed up the ceiling, and their work is indistinguishable from what was there before. On the roof, they were able to patch the leaky part and also remove/replace the roof decking so it looks just as it did before. Kitchen remodeling (including removing walls) and bathroom remodeling (with entirely new layout) were the biggest aspects of our renovation. There were unexpected hiccups during the construction phase due to size of the windows and load bearing with sheer walls.
