This place is super spacious and such a fun vibe. They have billiards and an arcade and darts, and a large menu of signature and classic cocktails. They had a popcorn machine too. We were disappointed to see that the taco Tuesday tacos were not available at the advertised 4pm, but otherwise the drinks were very tasty, servers were nice, and plenty of seating was available. I would definitely recommend checking out this spot on their themed karaoke nights, or other events! read more

We came here on a Wednesday day after pickleball and we loved Monique. She made me the best espresso martini. She is the sweetest and was cleaning the whole time besides engaging with us . After a quick look around, I took a seat at the bar. The bartender had her back to me; I could see her texting, then switching to Instagram. A woman in a Christmas sweater greeted me before the bartender did and had to remind her--twice--that I was there before she finally put her phone down and acknowledged me. Bartender: Hello, thanks for waiting. How are you? Me: Thirsty. Bartender: What can I get you? Me: Bourbon and water, please. Bartender: What kind of bourbon? Me: The well is fine, thanks. Bartender: Jack is-- inaudible Bartender: Do you want a double? It's only $3.50 more. Me: No thanks. Bartender: You know, be nice. The bartender walks away to make the drink and immediately complains about me to her friends sitting directly across the bar. One of them rolls his eyes at me. Me: Hey, I was nice enough to wait while you were on your phone. Bartender: No, you weren't. I slide my drink back to her. Me: You can just give my drink to your friends across the bar. Bartender: I will. I walk out. The eye-roller stares at me as I leave. Acknowledge guests, stay professional, and don't complain about customers to friends sitting right in front of them. This is my go-to spot when I'm in San Diego since it offers an abundance of great deals and specials all throughout the week. This fine establishment is open 7 days a week from 2pm until 2am delivering second to none customer service and amazing cocktails. Starting off on Tuesdays through Thursday's they have live Karaoke from 9pm to close followed by on Fridays and Saturday nights they have food trucks outside ranging from your typical Mexican food and sometimes Greek! If you're into country music living in So Cal than this is your spot since they have live country music on Sundays from 6-9pm. This is not all though because Happy Hour is every day from 2pm until 7pm delivering the tastiest drinks in the 619! I enjoy coming here when they open to snag all the happy hour specials and catch up with friends and watch sports on one of their many TV's inside. I especially enjoy coming here on Sundays during the day to catch the happy hour specials and I usually get there around 5ish and stay through 7 because they have 5-dollar specials for beer and mixed drinks. They also have an arcade with pool tables and darts that you can play with your friends or maybe even meet new friends playing together. Altogether I really enjoy this place, and service is very welcoming from the entire staff. They really go out of their way to provide the best bar experience here in the area. My personal favorite and star of the show is Elliot who genuinely cares about his job and makes some of the best Adios M*. It's not the skeevy, sketch, and drug ring of old, but rather under new management - The same group that owns The Hills in La Mesa, Eastbound in Lakeside, and Waterfront in Downtown SD has also acquired The Hearth House! Day & night comparison from the dive bar it was, to the cozy pub it's turning into. Management has done a great job of cleaning up & restoring it, while still preserving its charm & spirit of The Hearth House. Keeping the pool tables as a staple, while refurbishing with nice booths, seating, and fixtures has really brought it back to life. It is still a soft opening, so drink menus & cocktails found at the sister bars are not in place (yet, if at all), and there is not food offerings/kitchen available, making it a true bar. The tap/beer offerings are also more limited to big label like Coors, Modelo, etc. on tap, but if you're looking for more craft options it's by the can, for now. Parking can be somewhat of an issue, once gets booming & with the neighbors not allowing parking, and the lot being smaller, plenty of street parking though. Came here on a Saturday night at 10pm. The crowd was already starting to get lit with karaoke. It didn't feel like a bar where it was a bunch of locals which was a relief because being in those crowds can be hard to navigate. But there were definitely a few people that the bartender knew that got served over me and my homie as we were sitting by the bar with my dog. But after they fell over and were escorted out by security, the bartenders did pay attention to us more. It looks like they just split the bar into two sides with one side being served by one and the other served by the other. They said my dog was okay but he barked once because he was excited with all the clapping from the karaoke and the bartender threatened to kick us out because patrons were afraid. Even though everyone was coming over to pet my dog. Didn't eat any food here. Just alcohol. The beer selection was okay. Nothing special. Your bud lights. Mango carts. 805s. Etc.
