Beer and wine bar. Laid back vibes with plenty of TVs. Free pool. Outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Fast and friendly service. Food is also delicious. They're known for their burgers and they hit the spot. Check out their burger special on Tuesdays. Make sure you add fries cause those are great too. Haven't tried anything else yet but will be coming back.

A hidden gem on El Cajon Blvd! The food is so much better than I expected. Most times it's just bar food that is decent but the smash burger was fresh! We saw them roll out the meat and they weren't frozen patties haha. The grilled onions and sauce paired well with the sweet potato fries. There was an orange creamy sauce that was peppered and perfect for our burger. They were pretty busy with the World Cup, but everything came out in a timely manner. The space had pool tables, bar seating, and an outdoor patio.

We've been looking for bars we've never been to before to catch some of the World Cup games and we found ourselves at Majorette. I'm just mad I haven't been here sooner. This place is great! Super friendly bartenders, TVs throughout, chill vibes, a nice patio, and free pool too! What more could you want? And that's not even mentioning the food which was also great! I had the fancy smash and it was not overpriced like most places while being so good. Juicy, good sauce, good toppings, everything you want in a smash burger. The sweet potato fries were a hit too. I'll be back when NFL season is here, I found my new watch bar.

Le Bar Majorette identification located on a non-descript section of El Cajon Boulevard, three blocks east of College Avenue, not far from San Diego State University. There is street parking only. Note that a Funeral Home is located very nearby, which seems to have crowds every night, and they can take up some of the available parking. There are natural wines---bubbles, red, white an orange. The Fancy Smash Burger with sweet potato French fries was very enjoyable. There is no coffee available at all for an after-dinner drink. The restaurant is named "Bar Majorette" in honor of the famous neon sign that was at the Campus Drive-in movie theater. That venue is now located at the College Grove Shopping Center, according to the waitress who took care of me on the evening of my visit.

Majorette has the makings of everything I like at a bar: great food, generous happy hour, and pool tables (free!) The burger was super solid and ingredients were fresh. I got the fancy smash (veggies is what makes it different than the standard for a $2 up charge), but I would recommend adding a patty for $2 to make the brioche bun to meat ratio better. Like someone else mentioned, fries are McDonald's-esque, and they had a good dill-forward ranch upon request. Lots of space, the outdoor area is great breathing room. Will definitely come back for HH.

Majorette is the quintessential definition of a true dive bar with the standout exception that it also happens to have great food! Tucked away on a non-descript stretch of businesses near SDSU , you enter the main bar area complete with pool tables and an outdoor patio where they allow dogs. We sat at the bar, were they serve many different beers on tap as well as natural wines. No cocktails. We started with the wedge salad, which was absolutely wonderful. Cold, fresh, crispy, covered in just the right combination of crumbled bacon, blue cheese, baby, heirloom, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and the surprise element , fresh dill. Wow! What a surprise. Be sure to get this. Next step we had to try the SMASH BURGER and they did not disappoint. Great brioche toasted bun, juicy patty covered in melting American cheese with some pickles. Great meat to bun ratio, btw. Also, get the double , one patty is not enough! They also offer another version of their Smashburger, which is more like an In-N-Out burger and comes with lettuce, tomato and onion. I'm gonna have to try that next time I go in there. Service was friendly and quick. Don't sleep on this one!

Location is a bit odd and only street parking but I would definitely come back! Came during happy hour and got a beer for $5. They have a decent variety to choose from. I got a hazy IPA and they had two kinds. Lots of space inside that wasn't too busy when I came around 4. A smallish back patio that was nice. They have TVs all around so I'm sure you could watch games here. Patio was dog friendly which is a plus!

Oh my gawd I'm dying happy! I just had that craving for a burger and there are a couple great spot to choose from but I went with Majorette. Right choice. Just a smack burger & sweet potato french fries -but to Perfection! Guys! Rounded out a crisp brew (chose a non-alchy to start - cool they have a good selection). You made a hungry gal happy! Yes this place is phenomenal. The Chief Vibe Officer, Jake, was great. He's attentive and fun. He truly made my experience great. I ordered Fieldwork Grapefruit Blonde. I can't wait to come back and try their food! Come for the vibes and many drink selections!!!!

Great service. Dope venue. Very spacious! Wish there were more pool tables but I think it helps keep rowdiness/problems down with two so, bitter sweet lol. But yeah nice spot to come grab happy hour. Great beer wine and cider menu, and good serving size bites! We got the grilled cheese and big burger both with bacon and sweet potato and regular fries as our sides. Then there was an 8% ABV Cider on tap and that had me feeling a nice buzz! Super strong for a cider. I got big burger but will likely try the smash burgers when I go back. The sesame seed bun was too soft/soggy to hold the thick burger patty together so that was annoying. All in all, the place has a good deals and is close to home though, so. I'll be back :)

No better way to describe this spot than a "clean dive bar". I know. That sounds like an oxymoron but it's accurate, I promise. Majorette gives you all the best things about dive bars: relaxed atmosphere, casual, friendly, all without all the grimey, gross, tables/floor/bathrooms. On top of that, their food is delicious! Their smash burgers are crispy and seasoned to perfection. Their fries are perfectly crisp. Even their wedge salad was fresh and well dressed. A wedge salad?? Your local dive bar could never! I've never been excited about dive bar, but I'm excited about Majorette. I'll be back soon!

All the things you love about a dive bar but cleaner. The only thing missing may be cheap food but you get what you pay for and their food is quality. The smash burger was perfectly crisp and the flavors were spot on. The fries were McDonalds-esque, crispy salty and great complement to the burger. The beers are reasonably priced and they have lots of options, alcoholic and non alcoholic. It's a great neighborhood style bar with delicious food. I hope to become a regular with the welcoming and fun bartenders!

Smash burger w/ fries & beer (Tuesday special)
    Anthony T.

Described by Jake as a "classy" dive bar with multiple TVs to enjoy sports games. Classy because the food is better than traditional dive bars. Came here on a Tuesday night to enjoy their great Tuesday special which includes A smash burger and a pint of any beer for only $10. A neat tip that my friend put me on is that for an additional $2, you can add an extra patty and $3 for fries. You order at the register, they give you your number and the food is brought to your table. The smash burger was good, not greasy like they usually are and would definitely be back. Close to SDSU campus, so expect a lot of college students. Two billiard tables inside and an outdoor patio. Parking is street, went on a Tuesday night and had no issues, but I could see it being a problem on other nights.

Although my last visit wasn't bad, it was just middle of the road and left me wanting more-especially in regards to the Wagyu burger and the bacon. This time around, I decided to switch it up a bit. As we arrived, I ordered my current favorite beer on tap, Coco Ono, from Bay City Brewing. It's a piña coloda IPA that's not too sweet, and has great coconut flavor. Moments later I realized that there was a Taco Tuesday special that was $15 for 2 tacos a draft beer of your choosing. Since the Coco Ono is $9 alone (ouch!), I realized it was a better deal to get the Taco Tuesday special. I asked Karina if I could turn that draft I ordered into the special, and they kindly obliged...nice! The last time I was here, I noticed some wings coming out of the kitchen and they looked awesome. So this time I knew I had to get the wings, $16. I ordered a 9 piece of Buffalo wings, per staff recommendation, and they did not disappoint. We actually got 10 piping hot wings served with stacks of baby carrots, fresh cut celery, and both ranch and blue cheese. I'd love to see them do a homemade ranch because it would better compliment the wings than that Hidden Valley stuff. Wings were a 5/5!!! I forgot to even mention the tacos. That's probably because I forgot about them...lol. While the small TJ tacos had some solid carne with onions and cilantro, they were a bit plain. Served on two tortillas with 2 salsas, and 2 limes, a little bit of guac would have livened them up. I probably wouldn't order them on their own at $3 each, but as part of the $15 deal, it was all good. 4/5 for the deal. Lastlly, we ordered the BBQ chicken pizza, which was a HITT!. I had previously tried a few slices of pepperoni pizza last time, and it was a good snack to have with some brews, but nothing memorable. However this time, the BBQ Chicken pizza was up there with my favorite one in town. It was covered with loads of chicken, which they stated was cooked in-house, cilantro and BBQ sauce. The crust did look like it was a little over baked, but it ended up having a perfect under crust with zero burnt flavor. Only the outer crust was ultimately effected and got a bit crackery. All in all it was a really delicious pie. All the while Karina and Emma were answering my many questions, tapping off our drinks, and providing pretty much anything we asked for. The food presentation was great, the restaurant was immaculate, and the service was friendly, all giving an overall 5 stars. Thanks to Emma, Karina, Paul, and the kitchen staff for making this a delicious evening. I'll definitely be back for the pizza and the wings.

I came across KNB on Yelp when trying to find something I hadn't been to yet. KNB Bistro is in a small strip mall next the Windmill Farms market in San Carlos, just off College Avenue. Unknown to me until my arrival, KNB stands for Keg N Bottle, for the bottle shop attached to the bistro. I met up with a friend on a Monday evening right after work. I had noted a happy hour menu online. When I arrived, I checked in at the front and chose an outdoor table. I will say that it was pleasant with the heating, and despite being in a strip mall with a parking lot in front of us, it was actually a nice place to hang out. We spoke to our server about the happy hour menu. Actually the red white wines that were on special by the glass were wines that I enjoy. However, as they were offering a "no corkage special", we decided to walk through the bottle shop and choose a bottle to share. The bottle shop was really impressive and can easily rival some of the large chain liquor stores in the area. After a long time walking around, we chose a lovely Italian Red Blend. However, had they not had the "no corkage special", we would not have had that experience, as I simply would never pay an extra $10 for the bottle. For food, we shared the mushroom flatbread. I chose the happy hour cauliflower bites and my friend chose the happy hour Brussels sprouts. The flatbread was delicious, but I think it could have used more mushrooms. I enjoyed the flavor of the cauliflower bites, but I wished that they had been less battered. I really would give 3.5 stars as the food was good, but not great. However, I chose four stars as I enjoyed my overall experience and would definitely go back. It is a decent happy hour and I believe that it is really a good deal. There were a couple of salads on the menu that sounded really good and I would like to try one of those next time.
