This place was great. Bright, vibrant and full of tropical decor. The bar was packed. We got a four high top seater in the main area. Glad we did because it was karaoke night! In between songs the dj would play pop star music videos. There was a back patio with more seating. Surprise of the night was when Sterling the security guard sang a song from "Wicked". Will definitely go back again!

Had my ID denied this week, the bartender lied that it scanned as "not a real ID" twice, despite it being my government identification. I'm from out of state, so I understand the speculation. We live down the street & I waited outside while my friend brought my passport. They shut all the doors and windows on us while just waiting outside, which is excessive but understandable. Eventually they turned away a 10+ group deeming all of our valid IDs as underage, including my passport. I understand compliance, but being unnecessarily rude to regular customers who provide business was frustrating. Not surprised SDSU students don't go anymore. None of us will be returning. On a better note, Corbin's and The Mesa down the street are much more fun & welcoming! Highly recommend giving your money to a better business.

These places when the crowd is thin are the most charmed of hours as you get to chit-chat with the bartender, let them air out the dirty laundry, and learn all the deep dark secrets baked into the old walls. Is Chico Club a destination? I don't know about that, but it's certainly a neighborhood gem if you're looking for a cold drink with a side of pool, a good juke, and some TVs with sports. The restaurant is named "Bar Majorette" in honor of the famous neon sign that was at the Campus Drive-in movie theater. That venue is now located at the College Grove Shopping Center, according to the waitress who took care of me on the evening of my visit.

Karaoke with Devyn on Thursdays and Sunday's is such a vibe - you won't regret it; she makes everyone feel included and does such a great job with karaoke. The owners are also very kind - Mike is a true gentleman and his annual car show is a MUST VISIT! Peter's hilarious if you ever catch him at the bar!! And even their security, Mikey, is a pretty funny and kind dude, if you can get him to talk to ya haha! I took away a star for Noah. Drinks are trash, service is slow and the worst part is his fragile male ego makes him a horror to be around. His attitude is horrendous and he likes to call customers names if he's offended that day. It's funny because when he first started working there, it took EVERYONE six months before they would take a drink from him - people would literally line up and wait 20-30 min for Red because that's how bad his service and drinks were. While his drinks have gone from a 1/10 to a 1.75/10 in the almost two years he's been there, his social skills have and continue to rapidly decline. He has a handful of regulars and those are the ONLY people he attends- he'll ignore everyone else to serve them/ talk to them. I have tried to give this dude the benefit of the doubt but I have a hard time accepting his disrespect, especially when I've personally diffused and stopped people from trying to fight him. Moral of the story: pal joeys is a cool spot if you order a drink from literally anybody but Noah. I have absolutely no clue how he is still employed there other than staff shortage. Someone who feels too good to serve others should not be a bartender, nor be around people at all honestly. He need a major attitude adjustment - that man is bad for business. He makes it easy and fun to say no to him and literally evokes emotions in me to NOT give him money. If you visit pals, avoid Noah and you're guaranteed to have a great time!

For AYCE, it comes with fries or tater tots, a sauce, 10 wings, and some carrots and celery for your first order. After that, you get 5 wings per refill. The wings were a good size though the skin wasn't really crispy or anything. I tried buffalo, lemon pepper, and flaming honey mustard. Buffalo and lemon pepper are my go to flavors but I didn't really enjoy any of the flavors I tried. There were an overwhelming amount of flavors so it was a bit hard to choose on the spot with AYCE but now I wish I tried some different ones. Our waitress was pretty nice and checked in on us a good amount. Overall, I felt like the food was just okay, and for the value made it less good. My rating is a bit higher because of the service. I might come back to try some other flavors since this is such an iconic San Diego chain.
