Really enjoyed my visit to The Greyhound. The vibe was one of my favorite parts. It has a very retro feel while still feeling upscale and polished. Although we have lunched at the Greyhound in downtown Covington a number of times and have always enjoyed it, I had dinner there tonight for the first time. The Greyhound has always exhibited a polished ambiance, but I noted tonight that evening brings an enhanced air of elegance. It's really quite nice and very suitable for a special occasion or a date night. Service was excellent as always and I enjoyed their very crisp and tasty kale Caesar salad and an excellent French onion soup, accompanied by a nice white wine. Dinner at the Greyhound is supported by a full bar, a good wine list, a nice selection of specialty cocktails and a selection of sumptuous desserts. Everything is wonderful. The Buffalo Turkey Wing is a must try for wing fans. Just don't expect a plate full of little chicken wings. The service is always warm, friendly and inviting. It's a very relaxed and casual environment but it always feels special. read more

Mediterranean meatballs had unbelievable flavors and finally the deconstructed artichoke is simply amazing but needs to be ordered with the plain bread (?) pizza base to eat it with. This was our first time here. Nice place and plenty big inside. Parking can be an issue. I ordered the battered fish and chips. It was very good. My wife got the salmon and said it was the best she's ever had. It came with a potato veggie mix. We also ordered a couple of Greyhound cocktails. It was a grapefruit vodka with grapefruit juice and ice cubes made of GF juice. Everything was really good, especially the service. We'll be back! read more

This is a decent little place. They have a woodfired pizza bar, a regular bar and lots of seating and three different areas. The service is quite good. And the onion soup and fish and chips are also very good. I guess my biggest problem with Greyhound. Is the pricing. That's probably why there were only four tables maybe five occupied at lunch on a Friday. My fish and chips was one piece of fish with french fries nothing else 27 damn dollars a cup of onion soup was $14. That's ridiculous and they don't even offer a small dinner salad to go with your entrée you have to buy something that's 13 or $14. It's just crazy. I waited on the soup ... waited ... and waited. No soup. So finally I asked the waiter if there was an issue with the soup. It is the kind of place where you can feel the energy the moment you walk in and immediately know you made the right choice. I was craving comfort food with a wide selection of drinks, and The Greyhound absolutely delivers. The beer menu is extensive and impressive enough to make Anheuser-Busch, the makers of Budweiser, proud. Even on a Tuesday night, the place was packed, yet the service never slipped. I appreciated the hostess clearly communicating that it was busy so we never felt ignored or forgotten. There was not a single open table, and somehow everyone still seemed happy to be there. The starter salads were fantastic, the entrees were generous and full of flavor, and the drinks were just as good as advertised. This is the kind of busy you actually want to be part of. I've been here a few times now and can confidently say this restaurant has the best service on the northshore. I personally believe that service can make or break a restaurant, and this one has got that down. The food is also INCREDIBLE. It's unique, inspired, and consistent. I got the Kebab today with roasted zucchini. The zucchini was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I cannot wait for the next time I get to eat here! I gave the ambience a 5 for lunch and a 3 for dinner. perfect setting for lunch but would be a little too casual for dinner IMO We started with the feta and meatballs. The feta was fantastic with a good balance of olives, capers and tomatoes. The meatballs were just ok but the palenta was a good balance. We then had the burger, wedge salad and the oyster sandwich. For cocktails we had the daiquiri, brut and the greyhound - All were tasty The service stood out more than anything as the server was knowledgeable and attentive. The food wasn't bad but the wedge salad and burger were smaller than expected for the price. If in the area I'd definitely come back but my recommendation would be to knock the price of the wedge salad to no more than $10 as the size is that of a half salad and add fries to come with the burger read more

I have been to the Greyhound many times, and I always enjoy it. This time, I ate a whole cheese pizza in one sitting, not kidding. I was definitely hungry, but it was also just that good. Our cocktails were also delicious. The service was awesome, and the atmosphere was full of good energy. I loved the candles they had set up all around the bar we were sitting by. We pass all the time and keep saying we need to stop in. So glad we stopped for lunch. The ambiance and esthetics are gorgeous. We had the Reuben, which is one of their most popular items. Their twist on the classic wedge salad is made with butter lettuce and delicious. I also added a cup of the extremely flavorful French onion soup. The couple next to us had pizza and mentioned that the kitchen will make any kind of pizza you like, even of it's not on the menu. This was my first time to the Greyhound and I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was out of this world! Both my sister and I got pizzas and we both agreed. We also had the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. So good! Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating to our vegetarian diets. My sister ordered a pizza that usually comes with chicken on it but they subbed artichoke hearts instead. The restaurant had a great vibe and was quite quiet. We loved that because we could actually hear each other whereas in some other local restaurants you have to either lean in or talk super loud to hear one another. My husband and I were pretty disappointed to see Downtown Covington dead during LDW (which we totally understand) so we jumped at the opportunity to visit this unique restaurant when we saw it packed this past Friday evening. We were seated immediately and offered both full menus and a short-list of their standout dishes/most popular I am assuming. We trusted this list, ordering both the Matzo Ball soup and pesto chicken pizza from the mini menu. Additionally he ordered the french onion soup. For a Brooklyn girl seeing matzo ball soup on the menu made my heart happy. The broth delivered with the perfect mild flavor expected from matzo ball soup. The balls however were very dense I ended up leaving behind the entire center. My husband's soup had excellent flavor but was on the salter side. It came traditionally topped with bread and cheese & was overall good. The pizza was good and a great share. Everything tasted fresh and was enough to take home the next day for lunch. It was very reminiscent of a flatbread, as it did not have red sauce on the pie. We will certainly be back. The impressive beet list and ambiance make it a worthwhile place to visit on your trip to town. read more

They have accommodated us many times before, because we get there early, 5:30 reservations, and leave before it gets too busy. My hubby and I visited The Greyhound restaurant last night for the first time and I can tell you it won't be our last. We felt welcomed and special from the moment we entered the door and were seated. I liked the bench and chair arrangement in addition to typical table and chairs. They also had some tables with upholstered barrel chairs. The place used to be the old Greyhound bus station, hence the name, and has a pleasant modern artsy vibe to its attractive ambiance. We planned our arrival during happy hour (5-7pm Tuesday-Wed and 3-6 on Th-Sat). We do love a bargain so half price beer, wine, & wood fired pizzas was quite the draw, plus their signature drinks are 30% off. From the moment we were greeted at the door to the moment we left, we realized the exceptional service and attention to our needs was what set this establishment apart from any other in recent memory. The incredibly nice and personable mgr, Jack, went out of his way to make sure that our first visit to the restaurant was definitely memorable. When he saw we were using our watches and the candle on the table to lite the menu he gifted us each with bright little Greyhound key chain flashlights, totally unexpected and appreciated by our senior eyes! The menu and food did not disappoint. We ordered the Chicken Florentine -Quattro Formaggi pizza (wood oven roasted chicken, garlic spinach, Gorgonzola, mozzarella, feta, and Parmesan), & it was delicious. Loved that wood fired crispy crust and mix of cheeses! I know we'll be running to The Greyhound vs any home delivery the next time we are craving a pizza! Their drink list and menu is uniquely varied and my husband liked the beer offerings organized by country. Even though it was steak night for the special, we were in a German mood so the Pork Wienerschnitzel with buttered Spatzle and grainy mustard cream sauce, hit the mark! Being a chilly night we also added a bowl of their onion soup which was a generous portion, with a ton of three different cheeses! Before any of our food came we asked our very sweet attentive server, Julianne, if we could possibly get some bread to go with our wine while we waited on our food. She explained that they just have their pizza dough bread that we could order, however since we were already getting a pizza we said we'd pass and just wait. But she obviously mentioned this to the mgr and just a few minutes later Jack brings out a bowl of piping hot house cut french fries with curry mayo, chili mayo, and garlic sauce dips for us... on the house he said! WOW! Soooo good! As we were enjoying those starter fries our delicious entrées came which we split half & half and still had enough pizza left to bring home. Our intuitive server Julianne, checked in at just the right moments, ensuring we had everything we needed all evening. And Jack was not yet done with their hospitality, as he had one more pleasant surprise for us before we left.... a delicious cup of complimentary hot cocoa with chocolate shavings and a huge dollop of whipped cream...could it get any better?! Yes it could! As we told him what an absolutely wonderful night we had enjoyed, from the food to the service, he closed saying the first drink was on him on our next visit! Frankly, I can't wait to return to see our new found friends and work our way through the unique and varied menu! There are so many dishes we want to try! I suggest making a dinner reservation if you are planning to visit on a Friday evening. The seating is a little crowded but the restaurant is beautiful and has a relaxing atmosphere. My husband order the chicken cordon blue sandwich which was absolutely delicious. I had a few bites lol. I ordered the wedge salad and French onion soup. I enjoyed both but I should have ordered the dressing on the side because I don't like a whole lot of dressing on my salads. The fried onions on the salad were so yummy.
