I visited Bub's a couple of years ago and loved it. I was able to go again more recently and was less enthusiastic about it. The thing I liked so much about the burger was the grilled/charred taste in the smash burger. This time, I could not taste that because they have added a "Bub's sauce" to the basic burger that overshadowed every other flavor on the burger. I ordered onion rings which were just basic. Was super excited to try Bub's Mandeville after hearing good things online. We drove down twice website said they were open till 10:00pm but in fact they were closing at 8:00pm. This night we showed up at 7:30 and went to the counter to eat I ordered a BBQ Burger and my wife the Adobo Burger we also ordered fries, onion rings and a side of cheese sauce with two drinks... total $51.00 I had no problem paying that much and had high expectations of what was to come and we sat at a table and waited and about 5 minutes later our food showed up and they say you eat with your eyes first I was looking at a rather small burger with about 10 Onion rings and a cup of fries. (See pictures). Now I will say the ambiance was nice and the flavors of the burgers were on point. The fries were sub par and the onions rings were not hand battered or anything special basically for $51.00 I was served a small burger and fried and onion rings I could get anywhere. There are other places I could go and get a burger this size for $30.00 for two people with fries and drinks and it tastes just as good. To be fair not sure I would return and that is sad I think the burgers for this price point need to be bigger and maybe fries and onions rings handmade or more original. Give them a try but just set your expectations ahead of time. read more

Well, for those of you who are old enough to remember the original Lee's hamburgers on Tulane Avenue in New Orleans you will be very pleased to know that the new Bob's Burgers in Mandeville just across the highway from the fresh market is serving, almost the exact same burger as the original Lee's. Today they called a smash burger, but it Harkins back to the time when things were fresh and tasted wonderful. It's a little bitty place a hole in the wall and dats a good thing!I . I will be back. Recently I ordered my lunch but it was rather difficult because the young girl at the register was irritated that I interrupted her while texting on her cell, she had the personality of a rock. Very bad impression to say the least. I'll try again next week maybe the pretty redhead will be there, its obvious she knows what she's doing and with a pleasant attitude. I tried this new place today. VERY small place with limited parking. They seat maybe 20, if you include the counter. I ordered the Bub burger. Very good smash burger with good cheese to meat ratio. I didn't care for the super thin grilled onions and Bub sauce, but that's just my personal taste. Next time I'll get raw onions with ketchup and mayo. If you're with someone, split an order of onion rings. You get a lot and they're delicious. I will be back! read more

On Wednesday, my wife and I decided to go try this place. First off I was a week out from having a full knee replacement. The only table they had other than a booth was a table that was on wheels. The situation was totally unsafe because the wheels were not locked down and the table would move when I would try to sit down with my walker. We both believe these burgers are OK at Best and nothing to knock your socks off. Their brussels sprouts are good and if they add a little bacon to them, they could even get better. But their BREAD & BUTTER pickles are really, really good.. I would strongly recommend you try their BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES!!!!!! They make them in the house also. read more

Great smash burgers and fires. Parking and seating can be tight but definitely a cool little casual dining spot.

Was so glad we stopped by this spot for lunch. We normally go to the Banks St. location but decided to stop at this one to try it out. Both the food and service were phenomenal. If you like smash burgers, Bub's is your place. The original burger comes with two thin patties properly smashed with crispy edges and melted cheese. You can get a single if you'd like. I'm super excited to try an off the menu option I heard about, it's the #4. It's modeled after a menu item from another famous NOLA burger joint, BB. Bro.... this is the best burger I've ever had. Juicy smash patties with the crispy meat lacing on the edges omggg. I ate the whole burger in 4 seconds and forgot to even take a picture of it for the review lol. Shaved onions smashed into the patty, special sauce, cheese, & pickles. You can taste the quality. We tried Bub's last Saturday for lunch and it was delicious!! The burgers were perfection and the onion rings were so crispy! Best onion rings I've ever had - and they give you a HUGE portion. Our go to place for burgers. This place is SO good! The prices are comparable to other burger joints in the area. The meat is thin but they are SMASH burgers so duh...not sure why anyone would complain about this. If you want a thick burger, order a double. read more

The service was quick and the people are friendly. This is honestly the best cheeseburger i have had on the Northshore. It's smash burger style and it was really tasty. I tried the Bub burger and will eventually try everything they have to offer but will be hard not to order to Bub burger again. Onion rings also really nice.
