Loved our stay in the mansion! My daughter booked it and I didn't know what to expect…read more The place has a really interesting story and the owner has put a lot of love into its restoration and operations. Heck, she even had Brad Pitt's dad help with wallpapering! The place, obviously, is not a chain hotel and if you are expecting things to be like a chain hotel, you might not be happy here. But if you are reading the reviews you probably already know this. We stayed on a Friday night, so we were there for the weekend breakfast, which I enjoyed. We had not heard ANY sounds from other guests at any point during the night, so were surprised that other people were there at breakfast. A guest at the other table said to us that he was surprised to see anyone else was here as they had not heard us either! It turns out that their room was very close to ours; and there were guests in other rooms as well! Wish all hotels were that quiet! Because of the historic nature of the building, it seems it might be inaccessible to people with mobility issues. Our room (the Chapel suite) was pink and frilly and not really my style of decor - but it's not like I'm moving in! It was definitely a change from usual hotel decor, which is never to my style either! It's a pretty large place and is not as cozy as a small B&B. But it's very reasonably priced compared to those. Beds were quite comfortable, more so than most hotels in my experience. We had reserved 2 nights, but had to cut our vacation short due to weather predictions on the route home. They were completely understanding and didn't charge us for the cancellation of the next night. Will definitely stay here again!

A very cozy and unique place for a reasonable price! The breakfast was also great! I would stay…read moreagain!

I visited this spot over the weekend and was a little disappointed. I had a very hard time…read moreunderstanding them through the drive through ordering box. I ordered a bad bunny energy drink and a breakfast burrito with hot sauce on the side. Nobody I spoke with was particularly friendly and they did not give me a straw when they gave me my food and drink, but I thought maybe she might have been coming back with it because she didn't say anything, just closed the window. She did not come back, just wasn't in the mood to return my politeness, I guess. Eventually, another person came to the window and gave me a straw when I told them what I was waiting for, but I talked to 3 different people and perhaps they were just rushed that day or something, but every interaction left me feeling confused and going "Oh....Okay...?" The drink was okay, though not very good and I would not order it again. The burrito had ingredients missing, like the cheese, guacamole, and cream sauce. There was plenty of meat, potatoes, and onions, plus a bit of egg, but their menu listed other ingredients (what I listed above). Also, the hot sauce I asked for was not hot sauce but some sort of cream sauce (perhaps the sauce missing from inside the burrito!) This was one of the places I was most looking forward to trying upon moving here, but I was quite disappointed between the not great customer service, food missing ingredients, and drink that was just okay.

I started going here when they first opened, coffee was so good but NOW? Well i can tell they do…read morenot keep maintenance with their espresso machine. Because the coffee tastes like SOY SAUCE MOTOR OIL. This happens to every new coffee shop in Springfield because they don't train there people. My friend even told me they don't clean the Porto filter between shots and you can tell in the taste of the espresso. I really hope they fix or get better training for their staff using the equipment. It sucks when you want to support a business but things like this happen and make it hard for me to keep coming back because I don't want to waste my money on soy sauce rancid tasting coffee that cost $7!
