This place is a hidden gem at legacy place in dedham. We scoped it out one day when went to kings and finally tried it out for brunch today. Cool vibes, definitely a friendly and chill family atmosphere. The service is top notch and the food is fire . We got the mimosa flight that was super good, I mean wicked good lol and the French toast and chocolate chip pancakes. They have gluten free as well, so my girlfriend was able to eat the pancakes. We will be here at least twice a month. We absolutely love this brunch spot on a sunday. Honestly no shade at all, but this is the best friendly toast location u want to go to. Thank you to Danielle our server. She was perfect Kind and sweet. FRENCH TOAST AND CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES WAS FIRE Keep up the great work. Oh! Yeah try reservations too my advice would be to take a little salt out the bacon and add more gluten free products compatible to the the normal.

Such a cute brunch place! Retro decorations, bold colors, vinyl benches, whacky light fixtures. So many things to stimulate the senses! Food was great. Maple Tumeric Hot Sauce was a hit! If they had bottles to purchase, I would've bought it to take home! Portions were satisfying, ingredients were fresh. The staff was attentive and accommodating even though it was bustling and busy. Very family friendly. I would definitely visit again!

Always a great time when I come here, the staff and management are always friendly and do an amazing job with making sure customers are happy with the service. Food is great and drinks are always done to perfection. It gets packed quickly so make a reservation before visiting especially on a Saturday.

We have been to this location many times. The food is great and in par what you except at any friendly toast location. A bit loud especially if there are a lot of kids there, but you can always talk, so not too bad. The problem is that you always have to have a reservation or you will wait around 20 to 40 minutes and even with a reservation you will be lucky if you get seated within 5 minutes if your party is 4 or more people. Also parking here is insane unless you go direct into the parking garage and head to the second floor directly and aren't very picky about getting a spot near an elevator. The other thing that is they don't bring you water when you sit and it's also hard sometimes to find your server for a refill. That is a thing I always look for at a good restaurant. But other than those minor things, its a reliable place to go for brunch or lunch at legacy place as long as you are prepared. That's why we keep coming back.

Nice spot to grab lunch at legacy place! Sandwiches were good. The portion of fries was a bit underwhelming. Cool decor inside the restaurant. Server was friendly.

Monte Madame but it's just a sweet syrup sauce on a potato bun and cold middle

Looking around for Breakfast this came up. Looked cute so gave it a try... getting in and out of this plaza is an experience of patience. But once we parked we shuffled into kind of a Shenanigans meets Chili's/Applebee's decor. Waitress was right over got our drinks and order. I asked for an Iced Mocha and the Monte Madam. Which I assumed was a Monte Cristo sandwich variant. Mocha was a drip coffee in poured over ice with Hersey syrup, yuck. My sandwich was a hamburger potato bun COVERED in two colors of sweet sauce, cold chopped deli ham, and not melted cheese. I brought attention to the meal and was told that "It was right, that's how it always is." It was inedible. Place is cute but buy something off the wall not the menu.

This place has the cutest, funkiest and quirkiest decor ever which drew me in immediately. The eggs benedict was okay, definitely not the best ive ever had but I was just trying something new and I'm not a huge benedict fan. The service was wonderful and i loved that they have menu items that support Noah Kahan's mental health initiative! My friend and i added our contribution to The Busyhead Project Community wall and we spent some time just looking through these notes and appreciating them.

Megs American Burrito

Meg's American Burrito was great, although a bit heavy on bacon and light on hashbrown. The star of the show was really the Maple Tumeric hot sauce on the side. Monster Breakfast was massive portion, and came with an extra pancake! Pancakes were the star, rest of the food was very classic diner, didn't blow me away. Home fries could've been a bit more well-done. Come hungry, nice comfort breakfast with massive portions

The staff at The Friendly Toast - Dedham is absolutely fantastic. They make you feel welcome, keep the VERY busy restaurant moving along, and go above and beyond if you mention any kind of allergy. I ordered Amy's American Burrito and an Iced Coffee. I was fairly certainly it wouldn't be a problem, but I mentioned my problem with Oats. I would neeever have though there would be oat fiber in the wrap. They saved me some real discomfort and they had an alternate wrap to give me. They really went out of their way and it was so appreciated. They also get all the points for refilling my bottomless ice coffee which, at other retaurants, is sometimes forgotten. I used to love the Cambridge - Technology Sq. location and it was nice to go to Friendly Toast again and soak in the land of formica and whimsical vintage. The menu has changed a little bit since then, or maybe the locations have different menus? But still good. I'm glad this local chain is doing so well that they have expanded so much.

The food was really good. The bread was very warm and flaky and melted in my mouth. The chicken also was well seasoned and was pretty tender. However the coffee was terrible and tasted like pure maple syrup. Also the service was pretty meh and it felt scrambled. When they brought out all the food they forgot some things like the coffee and fruit and wouldn't have brought it out if we told them. Also the waiter who brought our food couldn't even find our table and ended up walking back in the kitchen for a bit to get help. The food was still pretty good and would come again as the service was not too bad.

Great breakfast/brunch food! I got the mimosa flight and it was delicious. The service was very fast and the ambiance was good inside.

Loved this for brunch with friends! Definitely add yourself onto the waitlist because the line does get long on the weekends. Very cute diner vibe with a pretty extensive menu! Definitely will be coming back as prices were pretty good too! Right in legacy place so tons of parking. Quick service even with the place being filled! (Also the little syrup bottle is just too cute)

Friendly Toast is my go to for brunch places around the area. They have a diverse menu that changes frequently with greats meals and drinks. Also the music here is always the vibe. The Chicken cordon bleu benny is one of my favorites to get. The Harvard square drink is sweet and definitely got my tipsy. The mimosas flight is perfect for those who want to try new drinks. The Snap Crackle Cluck was crispy and well seasoned. However the bread did come soggy. Overall I always have a good experience when I come.

We've come here twice and ordered the following- First time…read morefor brunch: chicken and waffles, mushroom omelette, and a side of beignets. Overall, everything tasted great (esp the fried chicken and home fries) and the portions were massive to just right. If there were a few kinks to iron out, I'd say that the beignets weren't really airy and some of the mushroom stems in the omelette were really tough and should've been discarded before cooking. Next for dinner: their fried chicken dinner which came with Mac and cheese, collard greens/broccolini, cornbread, and the tempura hake, and a side of cornbread with pecan butter. That pecan butter was delicious, we definitely asked for more. The fried chicken dinner was also amazing, every single dish in it. The hake while crispy, didn't have enough salt. The server fixed it immediately with a side of garlic aioli and that was great. If I could make a suggestion, I would say they should swap out the celery root slaw for something that goes better with the fish. Service was excellent both times. Very friendly and accommodating, always asking if we enjoyed our meal and they were quick to make things right if we had requests. Ambiance is really nice, very warm, inviting, perfect for a sit down meal. Apart from a few kinks in their dishes (which I'm sure they can resolve), I'd give them 5 stars.

It's a bit on the newer side and while they continue to make improvements, there weren't any disappointments this evening. Sat at the bar to start waiting for friends and try a couple of their signature cocktails. I'm a huge fan of bourbon followed by tequila. There was a drink on the menu called, "Orange you Glad" that blended both. Too tempting not to give it a shot so I did. There's one shot of bourbon and a half a shot of tequila along with a quarter shot of banana liquor, banana liquor, green mango and lime.... spectacular. Four roses bourbon is the foundation making it an excellent start. There's not a huge choice of appetizers or entrées, but what they do offer is a nice variety with something you should easily find to your liking. We had two appetizers, the pickled veggies and the mussels. The pickled veggies were good, but the muscles were outstanding. Plenty of muscles to share. The sauce they were a part of was out of this world tasting. Of all the choices on the menu I actually went with the half chicken because it sounded so good. Many can make an argument that you can't screw up chicken, but few can make an argument when the chicken is outstanding. This was absolutely outstanding. Even the sides were amazingly good. If you're looking for a new restaurant and tired of the same old, same old, this one is worth your effort.

Refills were sporadic, but we received the bill immediately! Food left a lot to be desired. We got the focaccia bread and wings as appetit. The focaccia was about the only thing worth eating (even from our entrés). The wings were so overpowered with cilantro they were borderline inedible. I don't have the "soap" gene, but it was the first time in my life I tasted soap from cilantro. Others at the table did too. I got the chicken Parm, swapped with a grilled chicken breast. The chicken was okay, but I received basically a child's portion of Barilla pasta. The sauce definitely was out of a jar or a can; no love, no seasoning. Olive garden does a lap around this and I'm not an olive garden fan. My wife couldn't finish her fish tacos. They were also served with an odd combo of a pickle dish? I did eat the pickles and enjoyed them, but didn't really make sense with the plate. The others got the chicken rice bowl and the steak. Nobody finished their meal. The fries that came with the dish were not warm and heavily salted. The naan that came with the chicken bowl seemed like it was just reheated out of a bag. For the price you pay per dish and what you get, I'd say skip this place. The only reason it didn't get 1 star is that they did accommodate some of the dietary restrictions we had, which was nice.
