Had a first date at the bar yesterday and were taken very well care of by Ashlyn and Kayla (sorry I'm not sure on spelling here)! I've been in this business a long time. These ladies (though both fairly new to the bar) were warm, engaging and respectful - checked in just enough to make sure we were happy and enjoying, but were never disruptive or intrusive. The food was delicious, as were the mocktail/lemonade we ordered. Multiple managers also did a quick table (bar) touch to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Me and my sisters came for brunch. First things first...we were greeted by a Mr. Leon, with a beautiful smile who seated us at table #1. Our waitress name is Breanna. Another One! (Shout out to Dj Khalid) She was the hostess with the mostest!! She knew everything excellent to order, was attentive w/o being intrusive, and her bubbly personality was a plus. Now. About the food. Fluffy Eggs althoughI couldn't taste the jalapeno cheese, excellent pork sausage, french toast and pancakes were awesome. My sisters complaint was about the jalapeno cheese. Y'all gotta get a better jalapeno cheese or add a real jalapeno to it. The other issue was, the smashed potatoes were inconsistent due to the salt content. However, everything else ordered was very good. By the way. Met the manager. Her name is Ms. Abigail. Talk about accommodatingly awesome! So went there today with high expectations for the first and now last time! Walked in and we really liked the place. I ordered a chicken sandwich and had to send it back because it was way overcooked. It happens. No biggie. They came out with another and the same thing. It was horrible. I didn't and couldn't eat it. I told the server again how bad it was and she was apologetic but still had to pay for it. I didn't say anything but will never go back! I never should have paid for it. If they had just taken the inedible SECOND sandwich off the bill, I would not be writing this review but they didn't! Shame on them! read more

Such a cute brunch place! Retro decorations, bold colors, vinyl benches, whacky light fixtures. So many things to stimulate the senses! Food was great. Maple Tumeric Hot Sauce was a hit! We have been to this location many times. The food is great and in par what you except at any friendly toast location. A bit loud especially if there are a lot of kids there, but you can always talk, so not too bad. The problem is that you always have to have a reservation or you will wait around 20 to 40 minutes and even with a reservation you will be lucky if you get seated within 5 minutes if your party is 4 or more people. Also parking here is insane unless you go direct into the parking garage and head to the second floor directly and aren't very picky about getting a spot near an elevator. The other thing that is they don't bring you water when you sit and it's also hard sometimes to find your server for a refill. That is a thing I always look for at a good restaurant. But other than those minor things, its a reliable place to go for brunch or lunch at legacy place as long as you are prepared. That's why we keep coming back. read more

They were so apologetic and ended up comping our meal and giving us gift card for a future visit! We didn't have to fight. They were awesome and when our meal did come out it was fantastic!! Friendly waitress, delicious food. We had the chicken and waffles and the Irish Benedict and split them! What more could you ask for? Crispy well seasoned chicken. Actually, something a little flat about the waffles. A little like maybe the flour wasn't cooked through? But a nitpick. The Irish Benedict was a perfectly poached egg with hollandaise sauce on an English muffin. It was supposed to be corned beef hash it was just strips of corned beef. Delicious but a little chewy. The food was really good. The bread was very warm and flaky and melted in my mouth. The chicken also was well seasoned and was pretty tender. However the coffee was terrible and tasted like pure maple syrup. Also the service was pretty meh and it felt scrambled. When they brought out all the food they forgot some things like the coffee and fruit and wouldn't have brought it out if we told them. Also the waiter who brought our food couldn't even find our table and ended up walking back in the kitchen for a bit to get help. Meg's American Burrito was great, although a bit heavy on bacon and light on hashbrown. The star of the show was really the Maple Tumeric hot sauce on the side. Looking around for Breakfast this came up. Looked cute so gave it a try... getting in and out of this plaza is an experience of patience. But once we parked we shuffled into kind of a Shenanigans meets Chili's/Applebee's decor. Waitress was right over got our drinks and order. I asked for an Iced Mocha and the Monte Madam. Which I assumed was a Monte Cristo sandwich variant. Mocha was a drip coffee in poured over ice with Hersey syrup, yuck. My sandwich was a hamburger potato bun COVERED in two colors of sweet sauce, cold chopped deli ham, and not melted cheese. Food and service are terrific. They offer some creative and delicious menu options, although they have standard breakfast items too. Every server we've had has been super attentive. The only drawback is that they require booster seats instead of high chairs and our little one is really better off in a high chair - but he'll grow into the booster eventually! read more

The staff at The Friendly Toast - Dedham is absolutely fantastic. They make you feel welcome, keep the VERY busy restaurant moving along, and go above and beyond if you mention any kind of allergy. I ordered Amy's American Burrito and an Iced Coffee. I was fairly certainly it wouldn't be a problem, but I mentioned my problem with Oats. I would neeever have though there would be oat fiber in the wrap. They saved me some real discomfort and they had an alternate wrap to give me. They really went out of their way and it was so appreciated. They also get all the points for refilling my bottomless ice coffee which, at other retaurants, is sometimes forgotten. I used to love the Cambridge - Technology Sq. location and it was nice to go to Friendly Toast again and soak in the land of formica and whimsical vintage. The menu has changed a little bit since then, or maybe the locations have different menus? But still good. I'm glad this local chain is doing so well that they have expanded so much. read more

Friendly Toast is my go to for brunch places around the area. They have a diverse menu that changes frequently with greats meals and drinks. Also the music here is always the vibe. The Chicken cordon bleu benny is one of my favorites to get. The Harvard square drink is sweet and definitely got my tipsy. The mimosas flight is perfect for those who want to try new drinks. This may be the only gluten-free and celiac friendly restaurant I've been to that has a breakfast coffee flight! While my family was visiting from out of town, my boyfriend and I brought them to The Friendly Toast in Legacy place which had amazing holiday options. They are knowledgeable and friendly (no pun intended) regarding allergies and Celiac disease. I felt completely safe eating here and didn't have any issues arise in the time afterwards. The decor and ambiance is full nostalgia, I was tempted to look up where I could get my own parrot lamp that I saw hanging above the bar. The service was very good too, everyone was very friendly. The food, well that just fell short. I ordered the Gochujang friend chicken sandwich because I thought it had a very interesting flavor combination. Apparently my Los Angeles expectations was too much for this meal option. The creamy Asian slaw was honestly just thousand island coleslaw. My boyfriend ordered the Monte Madame, which I'm glad I didn't get too. That was hard to eat. It was sugary, the items in it just didn't go together, and I'm sorry to say, a hamburger bun is not the same as a croissant. The friendly toast is an eclectic brunch chain in Massachusetts. This location is in Dedham, MA next to the Costco and Whole Foods in the Legacy Place Plaza. We came in on a Sunday and the wait time was 20 minutes around 11am. It was a little busy so we had to flag down our waiters a few times but the owner was walking around making sure that we had a good experience. The environment and diverse menu is what makes this place special. There's a lot of fun and quirky decorations all around the restaurant and the branding/theme is evident throughout their food and drink menu as well. The food was okay for the price. The avocado toast was seasoned well and had a good amount of toppings on the toast. The home fries were a little soggy and the turkey sausage seemed like it was a frozen patty. The cookie butter was just whipped butter with oreos mixed - not worth the extra dollar. The highway strawberry, on the other hand, is 2 chocolate covered french toasts with strawberries on top. It tasted pretty good covered in maple syrup. Overall, I'd rate the food as average because of the taste and presentation, but the overall experience was fun because of the ambiance. I'd recommend this place for a casual brunch or group hangout at least once when in Massachusetts. read more

This establishment is also in Boston, but let me tell you we had such a great time. The service was fantastic. The food was great those tater tots.
