Such a great little find in Dedham, came here 3 days in a row with my fiancé while staying in the area for a convention and we were both extremely satisfied each time. The servers are all very sweet and make you feel special, they love pouring you more coffee when your mug is getting low. I got the veggie omelet each time and enjoyed it for 3 days in a row it was that tasty. The have specialty French toast that is the bomb and a must try, it's super filing and you probably won't be able to finish it all. The diner is quite small but I actually enjoy that cozy feeling of everyone being so close and personable, especially for breakfast when it's so nice to get refills on coffee & tea. Absolutely the most amazing meal I have had in like forever. I had the eggs Benedict and I've only had this good one other time and that was a little hole in the wall place in Rhode Island called Stagecoach Inn I believe it's exit 2 off of 95 south, heading towards Connecticut. The eggs, Benedict. I asked that you have grilled English muffins and they were grilled to perfection.The food was 20 feet from me. When It came out it was hot and fresh cooked perfectly. All the white of the egg was cooked. The yellow was just runny enough. We got onions in our home fries and they were grilled Just perfect as well. The coffee was never ending the hubby ended up getting the Scott special which has three eggs, sausage, patties, toast, and red home fries potatoes. This is definitely a hidden jewel in Dedham. I'm probably making a mistake putting on this review because people are going to find it and I will never be able to get in the door again. The servers name was Jane. She was out of this world right on top of everything. Our coffee cup was never empty. That to me is the best part of any meal going out. Looking forward to coming back. Dedham Diner is a perfect (very) small neighborhood diner. You know when you walk in that it is a place where mostly locals go (everyday) for breakfast and lunch. Like Cheers... "everybody knows your name" kinda place. It was close to the hotel where we stayed one night so we stopped by for breakfast. The coffee was hot and plentiful. The menu was very large and varied and the prices were very good for quantity and quality of food. I had a breakfast sandwich which was so good. My husband had coconut and strawberry pancakes which were amazing!! I would highly recommend this friendly and delicious diner. read more

It's a locals joint because she knew most by name. She asked me if I was just "passing thru" - and I was, I thought that was charming. The coffee was bitter but expected-Your not at Starbucks. This place was pretty good. The service was very friendly and warm. Our waiter was trying to speak French, Spanish and English to us, which I found pretty funny. I ordered coffee (very fresh) and eggs with steak tips. I asked for the eggs to be over median so the whites could be cooked but that didn't happen. The steak and the homes fries didn't have much flavor. I also ordered the French toast. It was cooked perfectly. I gave it three stars because the staff, coffee, and French toast was great. Love this place! I come here for lunch anytime I'm working in the area. Its a cute small little diner. I think the food is very good. They have nice sandwhiches not in those sub rolls like every sub shop but on actual bread (all different kinds). I have had there breakfast a few times as well...all their food is so good. You can tell they care about what they're making and dont just throw anything together to get you out the door and the next customer in. And their prices are great, very inexpensive. I get a sandwich, chips (come with it for free) or fries, and a drink for under 10$! The staff are extremely out going. They always talk to you like they've known you for years, no matter if its your first time there of 100th. Im usually always there when Kim is waitressing and (I think his name is) Kevin is cooking. Theyre great! They make you feel right at home. I love places like this but sadly they are few and far between. Do yourself a favor and just tryyyyy it. Gross. The breakfast business is tough and I had never been disappointed by breakfast food until this place. I ordered a special that was eggs with salmon and capers expecting it to be be eggs topped with smoked salmon and capers, instead it was all scrambled together in one big mess and tasted terrible. The waitstaff was what I expected, they argued with each other in front of customers and our server walked away from us half way through taking our order to yell at another waitress. SUPER cheap brunch place that is actually REALLY good. It looks a little run down, but I assure you the food makes up for it all. I'm in love with breakfast sandwiches, and this place is definitely top 5 on the list of breakfast sandies. There was a special of pumpkin french toast as well that I did not get to try. I just came here with my daughter and our friends--they live in Dedham and I brought my daughter in to visit, although I live about an hour away. I really wish we lived close enough to come here more often--the food is excellent, the service friendly and accommodating and the prices can't be beat. I don't understand any negative review about this place. The second I arrived at this tiny diner they offered coffee and a menu for the 5 minute wait we may have had. We were seated in less than that. Me and mine ordered the pancake special and it was beyond our expectation! The over easy eggs were cooked PERFECTLY. The pancakes were even better. The home fries were a tad bit on the bland wide but still great. The staff is amazing and extremely accommodating. They really do make you feel like family. I will 10000% be coming back. read more

Ok so if you blink as you are coming down the road you will miss the entrance to the parking lot - tiny - when you go to walk in you might do a double take, because it is very small inside, leave your doubts at the door !!!! Out in Dedham to get my truck worked on at East Dedham Gas on Milton St. And now killing time getting some breakfast. It's a small mom & pop breakfast and lunch diner. But the food and the service is great!! My coffee never went empty! My French Toast was great and the fresh strawberries where amazing!! Everything was delish!!! all i can say is, we moved about 3/4 mile from here about a month ago. we've passed it and thought "that looks like a home-y place to grab breakfast" and boy! were we ever right. i ordered a pumpkin french toast & eggs special - reasonably priced at $7.25. it came with 2 eggs, breakfast meat (ham, bacon or sausage), hash browns and a slice of pumpkin bread french toast (with raisins - super bonus!) the hubby ordered a meatless breakfast special with 2 eggs, home fries and 2 pancakes. they charge extra for pure maple syrup (which has gone up in price the last few years so i am happy to pay for that instead of aunt jemima) and for my hubby's banana addition to his pancakes. very reasonable. prompt service. when i explained we had just moved to the neighborhood, we were warmly welcomed. we will definitely be back! Quaint neighborhood gem. We were visiting from NY and our hotel restaurant was a disaster. Found this via a google search and THANK GOD. Two kids in tow, they had a healthy kids options starting at $5. Both 6 & 3 year old enjoyed their great size pancake, eggs & bacon. The service swift and full of love. I was a regular, for a short time, until very recently. I thought the wait staff was very nice, and they knew my order before I placed it. It was the standards in the kitchen that turned me off inevitably. I found a a hair in my home fries, partially buried in the home fries too, so it was not lying on top. I walked in there wearing a baseball cap, and I was certain it was not mine, both due to that fact, the color of the hair, and the fact that it was partially buried before I even touched the plate. I signaled the wait staff that there was a hair in my plate. The waitress brought it into the kitchen and said something to the cook. I heard him say loudly, "It's not mine!" This came from a guy who cooks wearing nothing on his head per code regulations. Then, fifteen seconds later, they brought me the same plate of eggs and bacon, and did not even re-cook the plate. I have no clue whether they gave me the same home fries, but I know when I'm looking at the same eggs cooked over hard and the same two strips of bacon. I immediately got up, and the waitress who was nice at least, did not require me to pay. I left, and went to IHop in Dedham instead. It was a shame, because the wait staff is nice, and the owner is nice when I see her. But, they need another cook. I didn't like the guy's attitude about what happened, and the fact he re-served me food that was on a plate with the hair. No way should anyone be cooking without a hat or net on their head. I will write a letter to the owner and report this to code enforcement for a write up. Not a nice way to treat a regular customer. I have also seen them do other things I do not approve of. I've seen people in the kitchen take their apron, and use it to wipe off the side of a plate. Things like that should not go on. It is a very small place, limited seating, and it tends to be loud, where patrons yell from the table over to the other side of the room, and back. Usually regulars having conversations with the wait staff by shouting back and forth. They take cash only, which is sometimes an inconvenience...you might have to go to the ATM first. The food is nice, if the cleanliness issues were resolved, it would be better. read more

Yum! I overheard someone talking about this place while in line at another local breakfast joint, and decided to take a chance. A casual, small place with the BEST PANCAKES EVER! Seriously....pumpkin pancakes were delish (they are seasonal, so get 'em before spring), oatmeal carrot walnut pancakes with big pieces of carrots, many other awesome combinations. Stopped in this morning and so glad we did. Great little neighborhood joint with great prices and great breakfast. Staff makes you feel like a regular and service was super. Could not decide between pumpkin or carrot cake pancakes so our waitress, who was fabulous, suggested one of each. Carrot cake walnut was full of walnuts and pieces of fresh carrots Texture sounds weird and chunky but this pancake and its ingredients were cooked perfectly.. moist and fluffy and so yummy! But, my favorite was the pumpkin pancake. Our waitress, who it bears repeating was fabulous, said pumpkin sells out quickly and I could certainly taste why. Thanksgiving pumpkin pie is jealous! I wanted to try someplace new relatively close to where I work (Wellesley), so, based on the reviews, I gave this place a shot. I am sorry to say I was very disappointed. First of all, the lunch menu was ridiculously limited - sandwiches and a couple of salads. That's it. No apps, no soups, nothing. To start with, they had no brewed iced tea - and in fact, had no iced tea at all - no cans, bottles, nothing. Isn't iced tea like a lunch/diner staple? So, I had to settle for a can of Diet Coke. I am not a fan of carbonated beverages, so I asked for a glass of ice and the waiter brings me a small plastic juice glass with about - I kid you not - 4-5 small ice cubes in it. And no free refills, so you get to enjoy your one gassy Diet Coke with no ice and be on your way. I could already see this meal was on a slippery slope, so I didn't even say anything. I asked the waiter what was good and a healthy portion and he had no suggestion for me. Seriously, he said, "I am kind of new here and I don't really know." So, I ordered a cheese steak bomb, to which he replied (again, I swear I am not kidding - you can't make this stuff up!), "Do you want cheese on that?" Um, on a cheesesteak? Yeah, I probably would like cheese. And steak, too. The sandwich comes and it was nowhere near a "bomb". It had about as much meat as McDonald's happy meal burger and it was on a bulkie roll and maybe 3-4 pieces of mushroom and 3-4 pieces of onion! Steak bombs should be on a sub roll and loaded with all the fixins and falling apart from the weight (think Carl's Cheesesteaks of Waltham!). I did get cheese, though, - I think - so it wasn't a total strikeout. But, this sandwich just plain sucked. There is no other way to put it. I had to stop to get more to eat on my way back to the office. I cannot rate "No Stars" here, or I would have. If you're hungry for lunch, want any kind of variety and choices at all, like to have a cold drink with your meal and enjoy good service, please avoid this place. read more
