Pleasant modest diner with a cheerful proprietor and a quiet atmosphere. We enjoyed a most relaxing brunch. Along with a decent mug of coffee, I had their corned beef hash with 2 sunny-side ups, home fries, and toast. Corned beef was very good with nice crispy carmelized bits and the home fries were terrific. My daughter had their Nutella French toast with fruit which she devoured; my other daughter had a good sausage-egg-and cheese brekkie sandwich (and finished off my home fries!) From My experience The Ambiance of the restaurant is cozy kind of like the food is cooked from grandmas kitchen. The place is very calm and quiet there is a TV on to provide knowledge of what the news is. Food is cooked and plated at a considerable time and the older Man who listens to the orders and brings the food to the tables is a Nice generous man. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese bagel. Unremarkable on the outside, extreme goodness on the inside. The folks running the place couldn't be any nicer, and the locals clearly enjoyed chatting with the friendly staff. I saw other reviews of the Irish breakfast, and I had to try it out. First, out came four slices of Texas toast- an appetizer? The warm up act? Them the main dish -eggs, sausages, Irish bacon, and both white and black pudding (AKA more sausage). I'm not entirely positive the puds were 100% traditional -that is to say, so metallic tang from blood, but maybe that's actually a good thing! read more

Solid breakfast place, excellent service, coffee is great, and everything we have ordered has been delicious.

I needed food that would appeal to my small appetite. When I got there I could already feel great energy. I really wish I got to know more about the owners and the family who runs the restaurant. They held it down by customizing my order of home fries, grilled veggies, and chicken. I topped with toast and a bagel. Anything you need they can make and that's what I enjoy the most. P.S. After passing on two other places, we finally settled on Sunrise Breakfast. Choosing to dine outside, Its location in downtown Norwood across from a gorgeous Catholic church gave us a feeling of being in the heart of this charming town. Our morning even got better when our breakfast was served. I ordered the Big Breakfast which weighs in at 4 eggs, 5 bacon strips, 4 sausages, 3 slices of ham and home fries. My son opted for steak and eggs and my daughter chose sausage gravy on country biscuits with scrambled eggs. All dishes were gigantic in portions and excellent in quality. It didn't hurt that coffee was great and unlimited and that the service was friendly and efficient. If you happen to be in town, find out what the locals already know. We had another marvelous breakfast this morning. Today we sat outside and the choice to do so, was correct. The area is quiet and there was a nice cool breeze. I got the Irish omelette and it was perfect. The serving was enough for two, but this Irish guy polished off his breakfast. We ordered breakfast catering for our Gender Reveal Brunch and the manager promised us large trays. The day we picked up our order we were charged $190 for 2 small trays of food. We tried to fix it with the manager and he refused. He wouldn't give us a gift card or even try to fix the mess up. We ended up having to cook last minute which added so much stress to our party. My friend and I traveled to Boston, MA, from Houston, TX, for a vacation and decided to stop into the Sunshine Café for breakfast on 9/29/23. It was not a pleasant experience and the food was mediocre at best. The owner was very gruff with us and questioned when I asked for cheese on my scrambled eggs. He seemed very put out when we asked for things like cream for coffee or a cup of ice to go with a can of Coke. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and buttermilk pancakes. Both the eggs and pancakes tasted like they had been cooked in a pan used for other things and not cleaned first. The eggs actually had a sweet flavor to them; not good. And look at the cheese they put on my scrambled eggs! What is this? Whatever cheese they used was super cheap and nasty. Even Velveeta tastes better. The buttermilk pancakes were not very good at all either. McDonalds has better pancakes and honestly, I can make them much better using a Betty Crocker cookbook recipe. My friend ordered eggs and toast and she also said it was also not great. I honestly cannot believe that this restaurant gets the reviews that it does! If you think this place has good pancakes, you have not traveled to the Midwest - especially places in Minnesota - where pancakes are the bomb! We also thought the prices were too high considering the quality of the food. Again, would have been better off going to somewhere else but decided to try this place because of the reviews. I cannot recommend this place AT ALL. Go somewhere else in Boston where you don't have to put up with the owner's attitude and the poor taste of this place's food. read more

This place is really solid, it has a lot of options and the food is clean and high-quality. I like how all of the breakfast dishes are served with a slice of watermelon, it's a nice touch and it keeps it fresh and colorful. More importantly, the staff is super friendly and kind and they are very efficient. The food came out quickly and it was perfectly cooked. The sausage was high-quality and it was a large portion. The only thing that was lacking was seasoning on the home fries. Overall I was impressed. This is a typical diner experience with a no-frills dining room with metal faux leather padded chairs. What's really nice for those places that they have outdoor seating so if you want to sit outside on a nice summer day and have your breakfast, you can totally do that. You can sit on the street in Norwood center and watch people go by. Nice to have options. Also the coffee is spot on. It's actually high-quality coffee for a diner. It made me feel some kind away when I drank it, it gave me that boost of diesel that I was looking for. read more

I used to love sunrise so it pains me to write this review. My last 2 visits were extremely disappointing. One visit I ordered pick up and had more than a few egg shells in my omelette. My second and last visit was when I took my friend to grab some food for their outdoor dining. We walked inside to grab menus and let them know that we were going to grab a table. After about 15 minutes went by we realize that no one was coming to check on us so I walked back in to place our drink order and let them know again we were ready. Not even 5 minutes later we saw a couple walk in, sit down and immediately be served. We still hadn't even received our drinks in the 90+ heat before we took our business elsewhere. read more

Came here and had really great service. The woman who owns the restaurant was our waitress and she always had a smile and was very friendly. We felt very welcomed and comfortable having breakfast here. The one thing I would say as a critique is to let someone know that they are getting bottled water when they order just a water. My fresh squeezed orange juice was DELICIOUS! I absolutely love when I can get this and I could taste the freshness of the juice. I got one of the burritos which had fresh peppers and onions chopped in it, and the ham had great flavor. Instead of it being inside a flour tortilla like a normal burrito it was rolled up inside what seemed to be a crepe. I think because i got extra cheese everything held together but the ends were open instead of folded so normally i think it would fall out the bottom without the cheese to hold it together.
