The Side Door has an amazing roast of beans. The coffee is bold and smooth. Would definitely buy a bag of their beans. Ordered a hot caramel latte and it was delicious. The #1 breakfast sandwich with pesto and arugula was great. Didn't expect it to taste good with eggs and bacon but it was. The vibe inside is calm and is a good place to sit and chat. Not bad, not good, just average. I've been here a few times now, coffee has always been "meh". Two times my food order was wrong, when I did get the right order it was okay but again, not great. I only found out about this place because my physical therapist mentioned it one day when I offered to bring him a donut breakfast and he said he got some from his brother's cafe in Norwood. It really is a side door cafe as it's the side street of the main street in Norwood. Very cute place with limited street parking but still places to park because it's Norwood which is awesome like that. Some seating but limited, so I'd recommend take out. Unless you live walking distance and figure it's worth a try and maybe get a seat. The barista left very little room for milk in my coffee which even though I drink coffee often, I'm not a big fan of coffee as much as I am of caffeine, so I add lots of milk and sugar to mask the taste of the coffee. But I've had a lot of coffee at a lot of places so I can tell which places had good coffee. And this place has great coffee. How great.. well because there wasn't a lot of room for milk when I went home I brought my milk next to me when I sat, to add to the coffee after I drank a little. Well the coffee was so good that after I had a little I didn't want to add milk because it tasted so good. I also ordered some breakfast items just to get an idea of the place and the croissant and the breakfast sandwich i got, was so much better than most places that I can't wait to go back and get more things off their menu we they have plenty of pastries and breakfast items. Norwood has so many great places it's always hard to figure out where to go back again, but I found where I'm going for coffee and breakfast every weekend from now on. read more

We just stopped by randomly while on vacation. I wish this place was nearby me. The drinks were great. My husband and I both got something not quite on the menu. The staff didn't blink at the social order. The staff was really kind. We watched them interact with others while we waited for our drinks and they were just especially kind. Not just customer service kind. The location is also very cute. I think you could easily take someone to a coffee date here. read more

Side door cafe knocked the holiday decor out of the park, which is good because I was still feeling festive. The Side Door Salad was huge and incredible. The chicken was juicy and had some kind of nice marinade and the cheese and vinaigrette were lovely. My husband enjoyed his cortado. I got an iced chai and gingerbread loaf which were both ok. The staff were really nice. Plus points for the real cutlery and plates. Wish they had a mocha on the menu. read more

Side Door cafe is a great location to go to if you find yourself not wanting to go into the city for a latte. I got a caramel latte when my friend and I went recently and it was really good! The coffee was a little strong, but they do have simple syrup on the counter to add to your drink if you would like. They have a lot of food options here but unfortunately, none of them are gluten-free - so if you find yourself needing gluten-free options, just know you won't be able to eat here. I wouldn't let that deter you from trying their drinks, however, since they are just as enjoyable as a sweet treat! The service here was really amazing and they answered every question I had. I've been here twice now and both times left feeling a little underwhelmed. Most recently I ordered a simple BLT to go and ended up waiting over 10 minutes, even though there wasn't really anyone else ordering food at the time. I get that they cook things fresh on the grill, but there didn't seem to be much urgency, so it's probably not the best spot if you're in a hurry. The space itself is really small. It feels tight even with just a couple people, so I wouldn't recommend it for groups bigger than 2. It's also not very kid-friendly, and there are steps to get in, which makes it tough for strollers or anyone needing handicap access. On the positive side, the staff has been friendly both times I've gone, and the food itself was decent. Overall, it's okay if you're just popping in casually with a friend and not in a rush, but it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. read more

A small but cute cafe in Norwood Center. LOCATION: Street parking and true to its name, Side Door Cafe is located off on the Main Street but still easy to find. The store itself has a few tables but small overall. COFFEE: I ordered a lavender latte and it was a perfect balance between lavender and coffee. They offer coffee/espresso drinks, tea drinks, hot chocolate, juices, breakfast sandwiches (until 11am), lunch sandwiches (after 11am), salads, and bakery items. The prices are slightly on the higher side. The place is very cozy with the counter and open drink & food prep area to the left and table seating along the wall to the right. I stopped by Side Door Cafe very recently on a rainy Saturday. The place was packed with most seating occupied. I decided to get a lunch sandwich and went with The Toasty with Ham ($12.50 plus tax). My sandwich was ready to go in 7 minutes after ordering. This sandwich (cut in half diagonally) was a bit greasy which had melted cheddar, tomato, red onion, pesto, & deli ham on buttery toasty sourdough bread. I enjoyed one half of the sandwich with my iced tea back in the vehicle before heading out. I ate the other half the next day at home after reheating and toasting. I would definitely try one of their breakfast sandwiches next time, which are only served until 11am, but they will make breakfast sandwiches after 11, especially on busy weekends, as the customer after me ordered the #1. read more

My friend and I met here for coffee and breakfast and it was a total vibe. We had some amazing breakfast sandwiches. I had the tomato mozzarella balsamic breakfast sandwich. I think it had some bacon in it. It was so good. Delicious protein. The bread was the best part. The brioche bun was so Fluffy and buttery and delicious. I will absolutely be back here. Also he has some amazing coffee. I had a cold brew and it was so smooth and delicious. Love the music in here, love the ambience, it's a very chill spot to hang out. Took a 40min drive to check out their shop from a TikTok they made. Did not regret it at all. I ordered the #2 sandwich and it was awesome, they did not shy away from giving me plenty on toppings. My coffee was very good too, I usually only get black coffees and the coffee here is great. I stayed in the cafe for some time to get some work done and the owner stopped by multiple times to check if we needed anything, despite us already having our food and drinks. It's safe to say the service here was great, extremely friendly and mindful people. The person with me had a tree nut allergy, and the owner had mentioned that he would make our food on a different surface to prevent anything crossing. We felt very welcomed here and the food/drinks were well worth our drive. We will definitely be back! read more
