I was a little skeptical with this place, we didn't have reservations and we like to seat at the bar ... 15 minutes waiting , someone reach us asking if we want some drinks as we were waiting (nice! ). Good selection of wines, 5 minutes more we were right on on the bar, ordering (as per the reviews the cauliflower) ... tender, tasty and very crispy ( a little sweet for my taste, but still good) . The bake clams were not as expected but the red sauce was pretty good. My boyfriend asked for the short ribs over polenta ... deliciously tender and the polenta super tasty . I asked for the branzino and the bartender warned me was the complete fish bones in ... I doubted for a second, but if you know how to eat fish you will do ... the work was worthy... the fish was perfectly cooked ( juice and not overcooked ) limonish enough to be very tasty, light and unbelievable fresh ... with arugula salad as a side.... Finally visited this new Bar 'Cino location for a fam birthday dinner and had a great experience! While we had no trouble getting a res for a group of 8 the day before, the place was completely full for the 6pm seating on a Monday night. Clearly people are happy to have a slightly more upscale, trendy spot like this in the neighborhood. We started with a few shared appetizers, and the highlights were probably the braised meatballs and fennel sausage pizza. The pizza here has a super thin crust and is served with scissors so you can cut it up yourself, which is a fun little experiential touch. We were super happy with the wine selection, but I will say I was disappointed in the La Gran Pina cocktail I tried first. I always get nervous when a cocktail comes out in a regular drinking glass, and I was proved right when this one was too sweet and the flavors were just a little off. I couldn't finish it and switched to wine instead. The entrees were perfect on the other hand! Some of the favorites at the table were the spaghetti carbonara, ricotta gnocchi, and braised beef short rib. I'd order any of them again in a heartbeat. We also all shared the pistachio ricotta cake for dessert, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the meal. Sooo light and smooth without being too sweet. I didn't love the ambience here as much as the Brookline location probably because of the layout of the restaurant and where the bar is located. But the food is still great and so reasonably priced! The kale salad is the BEST and the salmon was delicious. They also have a great chicken milanese. I tried their dessert for the first time - the salted caramel gelato was delicious and the pistachio ricotta cake was really flavorful and light. Went back to Bar 'Cino again last night after work. I wasn't sure whether or not they would still be serving food as I arrived shortly after 9:00. As luck would have it, their kitchen was open until 10:00. I ordered the Hot Air Balloon cocktail again as I had been dreaming about it since my last visit. I had the ceasar salad and pistachio gelato while I was there. The pistachio gelato is quickly becoming one of my favorite things. I ordered the mushroom pizza to go which was DELICIOUS. Many interesting flavors combined into one delicious flatbread pizza. Lisa was the bartender last night. She was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive even despite the fact that I arrived shortly before closing. This was my second visit to Bar 'Cino and I can confidently say that it is quickly becoming a new favorite spot. read more

Bar'Cino was a great experience. We arrived after 5 pm without a reservation. They were totally above board about needing the table back at 615 pm and quickly got us seated. Service was attentive and quick. The food was excellent. We got Arancini Bolognese to start then Short Rib Ragu and a Margherita Pizza. The food was very good and the portions were generous. Stopped here for dinner with a party of 4. I found the place warm and inviting, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. I was a fan of the restaurant that was here before but it seemed a bit pretentious at times where this iteration of a restaurant seems more casual and approachable. Menu pricing is good and the offerings I would describe as something for everyone. Of course being first-timers we had to do apps of meatballs, bruschetta and crispy caulifloower. I know the later seems an odd choice but we did it on the advice of the waitress and can I say GREAT call, who'd have thought cauliflower could be so tasty. For an entre I had the Braised Short rib and if you've ever had a good one you'd know how delicious a menu choice this can be. Not to be one to flex but I've had Braised Short Ribs in Italy and this one does stacks up, great choice. Grilled Salmon and Chicken Milanese was also ordered for our table and everyone seemed very pleased with their choices. Nice spot, easy to find right on Rte 109 (High St) not far off 95 so if you're cruising past Westwood to or from wherever this is a recommended spot for dinner. The picture shared is of the door closed, but frequently when the door was open I saw feet of women sitting in the stall going to the bathroom. Bar 'Cinco in Westwood tonight was fantastic! We had a 5:00 rez on a Friday night (we couldn't wait for the next available seating at 9:00!). The hostesses were each very friendly and welcoming. We were seated at a table for two with an interesting and unique tile top. Our waitress was very professional and friendly and checked in on us as often as needed (sorry I didn't catch her name, but she was lovely). Now the food, just WOW! From the salty goodness of the pasta Carbonara, the fall apart short ribs over the creamiest and buttery polenta, to the cold and sweet tiramisu, everything was delicious. Oh, and the cappuccino may have been the best we ever tasted. Can't wait to go back. It was busy and noisy, but not enough to deter us from going back. The only reason why this is not 1 star is because the food was very good. As a former manager of a very successful restaurant I hope this restaurant can take this review as constructive criticism. Myself and my fiance were sat at a high top to be served by the bar staff. Bartender one greeted us and gave us time to decide on an app. (Everything was fine so far). We got the baked clams in tomato sauce which was excellent. After receiving the clams though the bartender one was never to be seen again (well besides her chatting with an off duty employee sat at the bar). After about 35 minutes of no service bartender two came by to check on us. We finally ordered our entrees and two glasses of wine. The food arrived at the table in a good time. The wine never arrived. Nor did we see bartender two again until our plates were empty. Never have I seen such a mismatch of food compared to FOH staff. Also the restaurant in general was a mess. I looked around and saw about 8 tables with stacks of dirty glasses and plates. Meanwhile I see several serving staff just chatting near the bar. read more

Maybe change the name to Bar Cheapo! I'd like to state that management, staff and servers are lovely, professional and welcoming, the problem is the portions! The food is delicious but when paying $25 for pasta with a protein I expect to actually see it on the plate. I recently received minced Chicken that I estimated at 2 tablespoons, seriously! The time before was the chicken pesto sandwich which had one small paper thin slice of protein! You can't fake cheap, people notice it and will dine elsewhere. Please increase portions. My sister, mom, and I came in last minute after my soccer game. We were able to be seated without a reservation although normally that is encouraged but it was a Sunday night. The service was great. Consistent enough that we got what we needed/wanted all in a reasonable time but not too much to the point of hovering. I did always have a full cup of water. My mom and I split the 22oz ribeye steak. It had a hefty price of $70 but for 2-3 people it is a reasonable share. This was some of the best steak I have ever had. It was so buttery and tender and had amazing flavor. The steak was served with roasted potatoes, large carrots, and broccoli. This would've been the perfect meal for 3 people and we ended up having leftovers but it was well worth it. My sister got the pesto gnocchi which was also amazing. It was well garnished and had amazing flavor. After dinner my sister and I got dessert. I got the salted caramel chocolate chip gelato and my sister got the tiramisu. I'm not a big fan of tiramisu in general but my mom and sister loved it. The gelato was absolutely amazing. Our server said it was the best flavor and she was very right. It has to be the best "ice cream" I've ever had. The restaurant gets it from a place called Cold Fusion gelato. They have locations in Boston and Rhode Island. The vibe of the restaurant is very business casual. I saw a lot of khakis and collard shirts as well as dresses and nicely dressed people. We came in looking very casual and were well out of place dress wise but it wasn't a problem. It is very nice and neat in the restaurant they also have nice outside seating and great windows. Saw some positive reviews so my wife and I thought we'd check it out. We sat at the bar and found the bar tender to be unfriendly and sort of put out not unusual with kind of pretentious places no problem there but measured pour? big turn off. Food was the real bummer, Poached tuna was dry if you can believe it' more like boiled and chalky. Fig and prosciutto pizza was a little burnt had that bitter charcoal after taste.
