Solid brunch spot in the South Shore, but it definitely gets busy!! Every time I pass by The Connection Cafe by on a weekend the place is popping. You can always see people outside waiting - if you plan on visiting definitely be prepared to wait. You can also call to see what the wait time is like. We got their Tres Leches Pancakes, the Golden Waffle Chicken Benny and a Tiramisu Coffee. I really liked their Tres Leches Pancakes - super tasty and the Tres Leches cream was perfect, not too sweet and paired wonderfully with the coconut shavings. The portion is huge and we ended up having leftovers to bring home. The Golden Waffle Chicken Benny was alright, I wish the Chicken and the home fries that came with it were more crispy. The eggs were perfectly cooked though and overall the dish was still good. The Tiramisu coffee I'd probably pass on next time, I didn't really taste too much of a strong coffee flavor. The ladyfinger was a cute touch. It was very pretty but I'd probably want to try a cocktail next time. Service was also alright - they are usually really busy so it's hard to get the server's attention sometimes. They are very friendly though. SO GOOD. One of the best breakfast spots I've had in a loooong time. I ordered the orange juice to start. They squeeze it fresh!! It was so delicious, I could tell the second I sipped it that they squeeze it themselves. It came in a cute mason jar with a fresh orange slice on the rim. So delicious. For breakfast I got the Nutella Belgian waffle which came with strawberries and bananas. I am still thinking about this meal. This is one of my favorite breakfast dishes I've ever had. I also got the croissant sandwich with ham and that was absolutely incredible as well. Came with home fries and served on a fresh crossaint. My two friends both loved their meals too. All 3 of us scraped our plates clean by the end. They also have a function room that has its own separate space, but also easily accessed directly from the main restaurant area. Food was delicious! I definitely recommend the tres leches pancakes (shareable) and their build your own omelette. The croissant sandwich was good nothing out of the ordinary but wouldn't order again. I had to ask for them to melt the mozzarella cheese, which they kindly did and asked me if everything seemed good. The drinks were great. Our waiter was very kind and provided great service despite being super busy during a Sunday brunch. The ambiance was great and beautiful. We did have to wait 1 hour but we were expecting that since it was a Sunday brunch. It was a really hot day and it was starting to get a bit warm inside. Arrived at the restaurant and was quoted a 30-35 minute wait. We returned to the hostess stand after almost an hour and were told that there were 3 tables ahead of us, and that they couldn't estimate the length of the wait. One of the hostesses was very condescending to a female in our party, explaining to us that "this is a breakfast place and people like to sit and talk". They understood that themselves, yet could not better estimate the wait? We also asked to speak to a manager and were told they would be over and never saw them. The food was good but not great. Our server was very polite and this review has nothing to do with her service. Overall, we will not be back. This place is cute and instagramable, but it seems that is the focus rather than service and hiring/training staff that can operate a restaurant that gets busy. read more

Went here to celebrate my granddaughter's graduation. We were served drinks before we placed our food orders. I noticed something in my drink after I already drank from it iUt was a fly/bug in it frozen stuck onto ice cube. Disgusting!!! Then everyone started checking their drinks. Almost every drink except 3 had something in it a black spec or something as if the ice was dirty or the cups. After that we just decided to just leave. Beautiful esthetics though. Unfortunately didn't try the food because of the drink issue turned us off. Please checker your ice and make sure it's covered and clean before serving drinks to your customers. read more

After a local youth football game searched for a breakfast spot and the locals all praised this place so we had to go! A large menu with a lot of items caught my attention but you can't not order pancakes from a breakfast place! They did NOT disappoint! They were the fluffiest pancakes I had ever had! The French toast was pretty basic. The hash browns were perfectly seasoned yet I've never gotten such small portions especially compared to the rest of the plate it was as if they fell off the plate but was too late to redo everything. The food was definitely worth another visit although some of the prices were outrageous (orange juice $6+, side of bacon $6+, etc). Decided to rent this place for my bridal shower as they have a separate area for private functions/events and it was absolutely perfect! Aline was great with communication throughout the process. The brunch spread (which I didn't get a picture of) featured a lot of breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, a beautiful display of fruit, pastries, coffee/teas, etc.) They even provide the tablecloths and chair covers which was very clutch. Natalia was a fantastic day-of host making sure we had all the things we needed and then some! When you walk in it's so cozy, it has a homey vibe. The orange juice is so fresh, it is freshly squeezed in house and the flavor shows. We've been here twice and the service has been great, they are polite they check in often and are knowledgeable of the dishes. I had the breakfast tacos they were pretty good. It came with a side of home fries, salsa and sour cream. The Connection Burger was juicy it came with a pickle on the side. The pancakes as you can see in the photo are tall and fluffy. I was full when I was finished eating. Negatives: It's a small place so there can be a long wait at times. I would recommend calling ahead. There is limited parking at the restaurant Parking lot can be full. In particular there is an event in the function room. I was able to get one of the few available parking spots left behind town hall. Otherwise I probably would have to park on a side street a few blocks away from the restaurant. The food was good. However there was a lack of professionalism. People that came after us were served before our group. They did not give our table utensils, one of my friends had to grab it. Be aware that for this restaurant you have to pay a continuity tax or additional surcharge that was not discussed to us before they made us order. It was a group of 6 of us but I have gone to places with a group of 8 or more with better service and reasonable prices. There are no free refills and water is not given for free. As someone who has been to many restaurants this was surprising because water is usually complimentary for guests. I Love the food, I always or mostly pay with my debit card. This week I was charged almost 2.00 more for using a card!! I want to give a special shoutout to one of my favorite restaurants in the Greater Boston area. I've dined in person at The Connection Cafe at least 25 times since the Pandemic and ordered out at least 10 times. The portions here are HUGE and the prices are more than reasonable. I often tip the servers closer to 30 to 35 % because the prices are so good. I used to get the the Big Breakfast 1 (2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage patties, homefries and toast) for $12 but I recently stopped because I could never finish it all. Now I just get the (3) pancakes which is $8 and a side of bacon if I'm dining in. If I order out, I usually get the bacon, egg and cheese on a roll, and of course they toss a bunch of homefries for free which comes to $9. I will say that they close at 2pm these days and it can get very busy if you're dining in. Their service is often friendly and I believe it's family owned. If you're in the south shore definitely go to The Cafe Connection!! read more

Stopped in on Mother's Day for a quick breakfast to take on the go. Staff greeted us right away, and were welcoming and friendly. We placed our order for two breakfast sandwiches to go and added home fries which was only an additional $1.50. We waited about 15 minutes until a to ho order came out from the kitchen and was placed on a table behind the hostess table. No one checked the bag or called our name for the order, which was interesting seeing how there was a young man standing there the whole time. After a couple of minutes and with a pretty good hunch that the bag was our order we approached and asked, and sure enough it was ours. The young man was apologetic and gathered us some utensils and ketchup after we asked. The home fries were a bit bland, crispy on one side but not the other sides. Let's just say we were thankful that we had ketchup to put on them. The breakfast sandwich was good, and consisted of two fried eggs, American cheese, and bacon. It's okay. Cozy place, but food is the main reason people go. I got a "skillet" which came in a bowl. Surprised by how expensive a bowl of eggs with peppers came out to be: $13. It's good that you can make better at home. Eggs were watery, and made me nauseous. Boyfriend got sunny side eggs with bacon and sausage. Only gluten free thing they had is an English muffin. Do not recommend for anyone with celiacs, everything would be cross-contaminated. Ok. A rather poor start. The parking lot is large but crowded. Hard to get in or out. One of our party had a minor fender scrape getting in. Next we were served terrible coffee. Not sure if too strong ( like Starbucks but not this stuff) or just old. But it was just terrible. Needed extra cream and sweetener. Also a large sugar pourer in the table but no artificial sweetener. Had to ask for it. We had five people so they gave us a table with leaves. It is normally square but leaves go up to make a larger round table. Ok. But the leaves didn't go up fully. One person had to put her food on the main part and lean over the leaf so the food wouldn't fall into her lap. We told the manager but she just said yes it's the type of table. I know she cannot fix it now (or could she maybe with a paper or something). But she seemed somewhat dismissive. Finally the food. It was ok. My potatoes were obviously frozen from a bag. They were ok. I asked for them fryolated and I believe they were. I also asked for my omelette to be less cooked. The waitperson indicated she heard me. However they were not. They were overdone for me. Not terrible and I ate it. But eh. My wife also said here food was ok. Edible but not great. Ok. I will say the service was good. They brought coffee around often (I know. But with lots of cream and sweeteners it too some bite off). The prices were also rather low for what we got. So someone else may have a better experience than we did.
