It's counter service and there was already a bit of a line when we arrived around 7:15am (why were so many people already up and about?! lol). We loved that they had a great variety of options, including many vegetarian options. I went with the egg & cheese sandwich and accidentally ordered it without the greens & sauce (whoops!). However, it was still delicious and satisfying. My husband got the avocado toast which was SUPER filling due to the hummus that was on it. He was only able to finish half of it. We also got a side order of fruit which, to my delight, was a bowl of berries! The fruit is seasonal so the combination might be different depending on what time of year you are visiting. Also, both of our coffees met our standards, which are a bit high these days. So kudos to them on that! The ambiance was absolutely incredible!!! Very well lit with a bright, welcoming atmosphere. We sat near the back of the restaurant (away from all windows), however we still felt like we were being flooded with sunlight. It was wonderful! Definitely recommend coming here to grab breakfast while visiting Beacon!

Beacons is a lovely small town with potential to grow as a thriving micro downtown. There's a…read morebrewery (my favorite of all breweries) and plenty of vintage shopping. What it does lack, however, is a standalone boba shop. While Asahi is, first and foremost, a poke restaurant, it does offer a selection of boba teas and slushies. The weather had just turned from dreary cold to summery hot, so I was craving my favorite Asian drink. After some hand-wringing (I couldn't decide which one to get), I finally settled on an iced strawberry tea with milk foam. I wasn't confident in my order, but all my anxieties allayed at first sip. It was delicious! The boba was soft, the strawberry flavors came through strongly without tasting artificial, and the milk foam added a complex layer of creaminess and saltiness that elevated the drink altogether. Even my husband, who's not much of a boba drinker, thought it was great (and kept stealing sips). If you're in Beacon and you're suddenly hit with a hankering for boba, try Asahi.

I pre-ordered for pickup on their website online and included some notes (sauce and slaw on the side). They have some specials, so pay attention to their instagram page weekly. Had some time to check out the store while I waited for our pickup order. It is a cute place with tables to eat, fridge full of specialty drinks, small deli counter, a few local products for sale, and a bar in the back. Space was very clean and bright. I had the fried chicken with fries which was pretty solid albeit a little small. They included the hot sauce and slaw on the side as per my notes (we drove from 15 minutes away). The portions are a little smaller than you might expect for the price, but it makes sense for premium product. I tried a bite of the split rock sandwich, which was also very tasty and on nice homemade bread. Everyone seemed pleased overall - we ordered fried chicken sandwiches, chicken parm, chicken quinoa salad, and split rock. Interested in trying some more items here soon.

It was nice to have a conversation with our group. It has a very warm atmosphere. Our food was good I got the hot honey chicken. My wife got the fish and chips both were good. A couple in our group got their food and it was cold but the cook made them a second order. The wait staff was not trained well and seemed very overwhelmed and irritated by the number of customers. Our food order was taken and it took 40 mins before the first dish was on the table. A few of the drinks were forgotten and the waitress was irritated when we asked any questions regarding the order. The Bloody Mary was very salty and undrinkable. Needless to say the cook/owner came out to care for our bill and was irritated when one of our group was asked how long we waited, by a customer and we informed them of the long wait time. He told us to leave and never come back to his restaurant. After the heated exchange I attempted to have a calm conversation outside and he wouldn't allow, nor take the time to have a polite conversation. Though the food was good, I will not be returning due to the rude interchange, that wasn't very professional for a cook/owner. I would not recommend this establishment.
